Olive Seed, olive seed, where are thou olives? This is one of those times where I should've done my homework rather than just letting ratings do the judging. What's famous here are their bulgogi burritos and all things K-pop, don't get me wrong, I love me some bibimbap, just different expectations. Which comes the next point of a cafe/restaurant, standing at the counter smiling like an idiot isn't going to get you attention, get with the times and use those self service kiosks these restaurant owners invested so much for. Ordered a breakfast burrito without bacon, option available for omitting any ingredients but nothing about replacing or adding. The side avocado came on a plate on a thin cut bed of lettuce before my first AND second burrito came out. Sitting there.. just sad, oxidizing as my stomach drools. The first burrito came out with tons of 'bacon' to which my friend Tim tried some before the lady saw me picking them out and realized a mistake had been made and a new burrito was being made. Tim said the bacon were bland and amazingly saltless, cut thick like how I grew up knowing them to be. Not thin, wavy and crispy like Americano-burgeriano like. Second burrito was good, piping hot and filled with eggs. Burrito blanket was the large 12-14" kind but it's filled without further grilling. Side potatoes were fine. Drip coffee was also fine. The lingering throat punch is subtle. If I was younger and works a trendy job I would totally come here with all my good friends.
This Korean brunch spot was so yummy and delicious! Staff was very attentive whenever we needed stuff like extra sauces, trash, utensils. The croissant chicken waffles were really good and the breakfast burritos was amazing! This is a fun go to brunch spot that is low key with good vibes with friends and family.
Yummy fusion spot w reasonable pricing. My group went to celebrate a friends birthday, and the food was delicious for the occasion. We ordered the carbonara, kimchi carbonara, fried chicken, brioche french toast, waffle, and salmon benedict. My favorites were the kimchi carbonara and korean fried chicken. I had the salmon benedict when freshly served, and the bagel was soft and soggy (I wish it were more toasted). The regular carbonara felt like it needed more flavor, french toast brioche and waffle taste as expected. At Olive Seed you order at the front and they bring you food. Since my party did family style, they gave us paper plates to split the food. Overall food was pretty delish, staff were friendly (we kept asking for more knives and napkins), not sure if I'd come again because food was not exceptionally good.
I have visited Olive Seed Cafe a handful of times! They have a wide variety within their menu. There's Asian inspired items with some American in-between. This particular day I tried their breakfast burrito that comes with a side of potato's and salsa. I was very pleased. The girl that took my order was extremely sweet and made sure to check on us after the food arrived. I have also tried their strawberry matcha, Bulgolgi Burrito, Bingsu's, and avocado toast. There were all delicious! It's always great supporting a small family owned business in OC.
A hidden gem in Yorba Linda's Town Center! Olive Seed serves delicious Korean-fusion brunch without the crowds or high prices. The atmosphere is lovely , the Soy Garlic wings are crispy perfection , and the carbonara pasta is richly satisfying . Their souffles and waffles look amazing too. With $4 coffees and hearty mains, it's easy to enjoy a full meal for around $20 per person. Don't forget to check-in for a free matcha latte or Einspänner! A top choice for a quality, affordable, and tasty brunch experience.
Came here for lunch on a Monday. We got the kimchi carbonara and the bulgogi burrito. The kimchi carbonara was a generous serving filled with huge flavors! This creamy saucy pasta was delicious! The bulgogi burrito was nothing special. It tasted like a typical breakfast burrito. All-in-all this place was decent, I'd definitely come back and try something else.
Review 15/365 Challenge Came here on a Saturday for brunch around 11:30 a.m. Ordered something light since I was headed to a birthday party at 2 p.m. What we ordered ~ CroffLe. Highly recommended, so yum. It's a combination of a waffle & croissant combined. Not even sweet and deliciously made. More on the sweeter brunch dessert side of the menu. ~ Strawberry Matcha Latte $ 5.75 isn't sweet along with I didn't get much of the strawberry flavoring. If you see the photo of the drink. A bit disappointed there. Looks like they've expanded their menu quite a lot by adding bingsoo (Korean shaved ice) & a few other items since the last time I visited here. Along w they reduced pricing on their menu items too beginning of the year. It was pretty busy with constant foot traffic, dining indoor and outdoor on patio along w right outside of the restaurant near front entrance where they have tables along w chairs/umbrellas and patio seatings w cushions.
Updated my review- the whole place got a makeover and so did it's menu. Some of my favorites like the carbonara or some other Korean items I wanted to try (eg ramen) are no longer on the menu. The classic breakfast also used to come with an option of a crossaint waffle and now they no longer have that - so its either a pancake or sourdough bread. So that's a bummer considering we love the waffles there but not enough to order a whole separate plate of it. The menu is also confusing to look at because the descriptions don't even match the dish names. There are options to order at the counter or the kiosk. After that, you're handed a number to find seating. We found seating at the table in the corner near the bathroom (there were no other tables available) and it smelled really bad so we had to switch tables. Although that was not so great-When the food arrived, it was good and I will say that my tiramisu latte was enjoyable and I really liked it!! I think they have a few kinks they need to work out (like their menu) and speeding up their service, but I'll give them some time to do that before I return again!
The Tteokbokki was amazing. It had a rich broth, perfect seasoning, not too spicy. It's yum! Next time I'd love to add noodles. The Panini was just perfect and the einspanner wasn't too sweet, which actually paired surprisingly well with the Tteokbokki. Both Bingsu desserts were refreshing, not too sweet, and packed with fresh fruit--such a perfect way to end the meal. On top of the delicious food, the warm and friendly service made us want to come back. Can't wait to return and try more dishes next time!

The place is inside a plaza, next to Bristol Farms and downtown Main Street. It's a cute little shop that requires you to order, whether it's on the kiosk or with a cashier, in front with self-seating. We decided to bring our number placard to an outside table to enjoy some sun. The food was decent and very flavorful but not spectacular. The Frutti di mare spaghetti had a great amount of garlic, but very tomato focused. It's something that reminded me of store-bought Ragu or Prego sauce, without any added spices. The ribeye kimchi fried rice was filled with savory kimchi juice or gochujang sauce, I brought it back home to add a bit of white rice to dilute the sogginess of the rice and flavor. The croissant waffle with Nutella was surprisingly brought out first as a dessert, but it was delicious fresh and fluffy. Best dish of the meal. I also ordered the mint mojito latte which was very good. I would say it has a better mint flavor than Phil's coffee! There's a lot of food options to choose here, from breakfast to Asian fusion Korean dishes, to dessert. I'm sure everything is pretty good, especially if you're not familiar with Asian flavors.

This place is an absolute gem. My friends and I came in for a weekend brunch and we were blown away by the entire experience. the Garlic Chicken Wings. Oh. My. Goodness. These wings are a must-order! They arrived at our table piping hot, with a shatteringly crispy skin that was just unbelievable. The garlic flavor was savory and powerful without being overwhelming, and the meat inside was so juicy. But what truly makes this place special are the owners. They are the sweetest, most welcoming people! They checked on us just the right amount, were so patient with our questions, and their genuine warmth made the meal feel that much more enjoyable. I came with a friend here for lunch. I think, by the name of the place, we were both expecting a Mediterranean eatery but it's a small Korean breakfast/lunch spot. You order at a kiosk, take a number, and go sit at a table (indoors or out) where your food will be delivered. We initially attempted to order at the counter but were ignored so we did the kiosk routine. I went with a prosciutto panini and a hot vanilla latte. The latte was average but good. The same could be said of the panini which, aside from the prosciutto, included arugula, garlic aioli, tomato, and mozzarella (it usually comes with roasted bell pepper but I asked to leave that ingredient off). The sandwich came with a pedestrian house salad; some greens with four grape tomatoes and a balsamic dressing. There is a huge free parking structure across the street which makes coming here easy. I thought lunch was okay but I wouldn't make it a priority to return. read more

There's plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors, but I can imagine that on a busy weekend brunch, there might be a bit of a wait. The decor is charming with lots of plants and a wood-themed aesthetic that gives the space a cozy, modern vibe. The menu items are definitely on the pricier side in my opinion. My friend ordered the Breakfast Burrito ($15), which was packed with eggs, cheese, tomatoes, and bacon. It was tasty, very filling, and came with a side of crispy potatoes. I went for the Nutella Croffle ($10), and it didn't disappoint, it was perfectly crispy and delicious. Overall, the food here is solid, and I'd recommend Olive Seed if you're looking for a cute spot for brunch. I was tempted to try the Kimchi Carbonara, but at $18, I decided to pass this time. This was my first time coming to this cafe, which I must say the quality of service was highly impressive and satisfying. Came in and menu was ready and also available to use. Ordering my food was super easy, not confusing or a hassle which was a big plus. Love the fact that they had seating inside and outside It was such a pleasant cafe with good music, food and just a place where you're able to enjoy good food and great conversation with friends. Definitely will be back for another dirty matcha latte and a bite to eat. read more

A Hidden Gem Worth Discovering My fiancé and I recently checked out a spot his sister raved about--and she wasn't wrong. After hearing nothing but great things, we knew we had to see (and taste) for ourselves. The menu was packed with mouthwatering options, making it tough to choose. In the end, we went with the sweet chili wings and the mild spicy chicken sandwich. One of the nice touches is being able to choose your spice level--we kept it low this time, but I'm definitely curious to turn up the heat next round. The chicken was perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, packed with flavor in every bite. The sandwich was a definite standout--comforting, flavorful, and satisfying. And don't even get me started on the strawberry matcha--it might just be one of the better ones I've had. We're already planning our next visit to try more of the menu. If you're on the hunt for a cute, cozy spot that nails both brunch and lunch, this place is 100% worth checking out. read more

Summary: Great place for cafe to hang out Very surprised that i didn't write a review of this place. Located in a corner near a movie theater it is a great place to grab a bite to go or a cup of coffee to settle down with. This last time round I order avocado toast which good with a bit of coffee. The ambiance is wonderful and calm. You order your items at the counter or kiosk then settle down either inside or outside in the patio area. Staff has always been great even when ordering something off the menu. Definitely worth your time to visit and catch up with family or a place to grab something to eat after a hike or a movie read more

Laidback place with a fun menu, food's done well, with friendly staff. It's seems they put great care into the presentation and quality here. I love when small restaurants prioritize reusable dining ware. Was here on a weekday and the staff recommended croissant waffles, so I got one with banana, walnuts, and honey drizzle. Excellent crunch on the waffle, not too hard and definitely not soggy either. Everything on other tables looked amazing as well. There was no need for extra sweetness so I didn't use the little plastic syrup packet that they provide. Plus, it was artificial (basically corn syrup with coloring). Small diner pitchers that are refilled with real syrup might save them money and be more enticing. read more
Came by Olive Seed Cafe on Sunday around 11am with a voracious appetite after hiking around YL for a couple hrs. The atmosphere was open, airy and pleasant. Walked right up to the counter after glossing over the lengthy menu and ordered their signature bulgogi burrito. Definitely not something I would typically order since it looked heavier and less macro friendly, but the unique burrito drew me in. And, I'm so glad it did. The burrito was served with a small side salad and my oh my, was the burrito one of the best I've had. All the flavors jived so well together - it was meaty, slightly sweet / slightly savory, creamy, soft, and flavorful. I was initially hesitant on getting the burrito as the price was pretty steep for brunch but am happy to have gone against my hesitancy. I have random thoughts of the bulgogi burrito throughout my days which tells me I need to go back asap for round 2. read more

It's a good balance between sweet and bitter. They only offer one size but it's the perfect amount. I came in on a slower day, but my drink was out in less than five minutes. With a very relaxed vibe for a Sunday afternoon. The restaurant itself is very well-maintained very nice and clean. The breakfast quesadilla was an order by my husband, who exclaimed that it was beyond delicious. read more
I've been here many times! Definitely one of my favorite go to spots for a weekend brunch outdoors with my dog. Clean. Friendly. Menu keeps getting more and more extensive adding several Korean food options. Self service water flavored with slices of citrus fruit. You can order at the counter (human interaction lol) or you can use the self service kiosks. This time we had the brioche French toast (the fruit and sauce that drenched the top was too sweet) and the kimchi fried rice with fried egg (possibly their best dish or their bulgogi burrito) BTW- Their takeout is also well packaged. Everything was delicious here! We ordered breakfast entrees: American breakfast (sunny side up, bacon, fries, waffles), veggie omelette, avocado toast, waffles and fruit. There is indoor and outdoor seating. The staff is super friendly. My son said this is his new favorite breakfast spot! read more

Nice all day brunch spot next to Bristol Farms with a smorgasbord of items on their menu. You can expect everything from the classics: eggs Benedict, avocado toast to the more adventurous kim chi fried rice, Bulgogi burrito, steak ranchero and even frutti di mare (not a typo). Yes. Variety is the spice of life or rather recurring theme here. Decent prices and portions! Oh, and in case you're wondering , it's an order at the counter and wait at the table kinda spot- chillax and causal. read more
The name gave me Mediterranean vibes but the menu felt more Korean / American fusion? The self serve order kiosks were not working. Staff was friendly. Small, interior seating for about 30 and shaded outdoor seating. The prosciutto Benedict surprisedly had tomato and arugula and came with a side salad. I'm accustomed to hash browns or a heavier side. The eggs were a little over cooked, more hollandaise was needed so overall the Benedict ate a little dry. The Bulgogi Burrito was a touch sweet yet satisfying and side salad. The mint mojito latte was true to its name and had lots of fresh mint on top. The restaurant was packed and I feel like I missed something and need to go back and try other items. Maybe my preconceived ideas of traditional brunch but more of a lunch spot for me. read more
I had brunch here with a teacher friend who wanted to try this place out. It seems like it's a brunch place owned my Koreans I believe because there are some korean-inspired items on their menu. We ordered the peach, strawberry matcha, caprese salad, frutti de mare spaghetti, and the fruit waffle. It was the perfect combo to share and I felt like I got a good tasting of what this place has to offer. My peach tea was sweet and refreshing, but it did taste a tad bit artifical. The caprese salad was a nice presentation and tasty. The addition of sesame seeds on top was a nice and subtle touch. The spaghetti had great flavor and the portion was just right for 2 people to share. The waffle was also good, but there's a bit of a cheesy taste almost like they use cream cheese in the batter. It was still good, but just different. Whipped cream on top was good as well and it tasted like it was made in house. Service was decent, good amount of indoor and outdoor seating, everything we ordered was tasty, and its in a nice area next to Bristol farms. So bummed first time trying this place ordered to go and my pancakes were burned, and it was so thin and hard, more like a frisbee then a pancake. Reason for not being one star is because everything else was ok (kinda hard to mess up tater tots and eggs) and the coffee I got was good. Unfortunately will not be trying them again. read more

What oil(s) are used with the food items here?
Hi Annie, We use vegetable oil in our normal food. We use Extra Virgin Olive oil for salad dressing. Thank you for asking.
Does this establishment have bottomless mimosas? If so, what's the price?
No, they do not.
Does the place have beer and wine or any sparkling wine?
I don't think they have a liquor license there...I was just there last week, and I didn't see any of that on the menu.
Do they offer gluten free items?
In reviewing the menu from this link there is no indication of any item on the menu being gluten free. That would be most helpful.
Is there out door seating/ is it dog friendly?
Yes. The common area of the town center out front has tables and patio furniture. There is also a back patio with several tables.
