Came in on the suggestion of a friend for an impromptu lunch. Although Mendocino Farms has been around for a long time, I'd never been here and boy have I been missing out! The restaurant has plenty of inside seating and a very nice covered patio area for outdoor dining. Orders are placed at the counter and brought to your table when it's ready. All of the employees we interacted with today were all friendly and helpful. The menu has SO many delicious sounding choices that I will have to make several return visits to try them all! But for today I chose their prosciutto & chicken panini. The sandwich was perfectly pressed and generously filled with carved chicken and all sorts of yummy goodness. This particular dish also had honey roasted almonds sprinkled inside, giving it a very surprisingly nice added crunch. I've always enjoyed the food at Mendocino Farms, but today's experience at the Brea location gave me a whole new reason to keep coming back. I had a board retreat that was supposed to be catered by Mendocino Farms, but due to an error, our catering order was never placed. With a room full of people expecting lunch and little time to find a solution, I called the restaurant hoping they could help. Jordan immediately went into problem-solving mode. She checked whether they could accommodate a last-minute catering order and even consulted her manager. Although they didn't have the necessary catering supplies, Jordan worked with me to find another option: individual sandwich and salad orders. The team rushed to prepare everything so I could pick it up and make it back to the retreat in time. They absolutely saved the day. The food was phenomenal, as always, but the service truly earned this review. Jordan and the team didn't cause the problem, yet they went above and beyond to help solve it. Everyone enjoyed lunch, and what could have been a major issue became a success. I'll continue coming back for my own meals, and Mendocino Farms Brea will be at the top of my list for future events. They no longer have the beets and goat cheese salad (my fave). Boo hoo boo hoo. Mendocino Farms across from Bristol farm is very busy for a Thursday lunch crowd. Once you enter to the door it becomes a line. There's a screen projector that shows the menu or several menu available if you want to look at it as you walk through the line. The line often looks long when you walk in, but don't let that discourage you. It layout that makes it seem like it's a long line but moves surprisingly fast. There are about six people working in the kitchen and several assembling orders, so the operation is very efficient. The staff here are nice. This place has great sandwiches, but I'm always a little surprised when the final bill comes up--it's pretty pricey for a sandwich (average $15). My daughter loves this place! It is clean and spacious with lots of indoor and outdoor seating. Lots of parking but can be tricky with so many eateries and shops (Whole Foods next door). Servers are friendly but food can sometimes take a while to come out. Our favorites here are: "Not So Fried" Chicken Sandwich, Chicken Pesto Caprese, and Chimichurri Steak & Bacon. Came in for lunch and ordered the Cobb salad and the chicken pesto sandwich. The salad was a 10/10 - packed with flavor and perfectly balanced with great textures throughout. The food is really tasty, and I honestly don't have any complaints about the quality. My frustration is more with the service. For one, my wraps never seem to get cut in half, even when I order them that way. Secondly, the wait time is pretty frustrating. I simply went in person at the counter and ordered a salad wrap, and it took about 35-40 minutes to receive my order. I completely understand that they can get busy and that everyone is working hard, but waiting 35 minutes for a single wrap feels pretty outrageous...I'd definitely come back for the food, but I hope the service and wait times improve. read more
