Came here by a friend's recommendation as my husband and I were meeting up with them. For what it's worth, I like the ordering system where you go up to the counter to order before finding a seat since it made it much easier to split our bill. For the price, they give you a good amount of food. I got the egg scramble with ham and cheddar cheese. It came with toast (my husband picked sourdough for me) that was buttered and had a bit of jam on the side. It also had hash browns. The food was delicious and filling. My husband got a breakfast burrito in which he forgot sometimes he isn't a fan of them because they overload with potatoes, but he said he really enjoyed this one. I genuinely did not want to leave a bad review, but after everything that happened, I feel like I have no other choice. We came here for what was supposed to be a special Eid brunch with family. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing from start to finish. I first tried to handle this privately. They don't have a working phone line, it's just a bot, so I emailed them. My emails were returned back to sender. I then reached out through Yelp and was ignored there as well. At that point, I felt like I had no other way to be heard. We were originally told a 30 minute wait, which turned into nearly an hour. Once we finally sat down and ordered, they completely forgot part of our order, scrambled eggs for my two year old niece. When we asked about it, instead of apologizing, the staff member argued with us and insisted we never ordered it, even though multiple people at the table heard it. We were then made to pay again to reorder it even though everyone had their food already. The service only got worse from there. Silverware was basically tossed onto the table with not enough napkins, and we had to distribute it ourselves. We had to keep asking for water, and when it finally came, it was placed down abruptly with no words. At one point, staff even started clearing our table before we were done eating! We were in disbelief. We were clearly not done. He had a bin to put our plates in. The environment also felt uncomfortable. The staff appeared to be whispering and visibly annoyed with our table. Given that we were there for Eid along with other Muslim families, the treatment raised concerns for us. Whether intentional or not, it did not feel welcoming at all. You have to fit their "vibe" if you know what I mean. The food itself was also very disappointing. My French toast was extremely oily, chewy, and hard, I couldn't even eat it and had to send it back. My sister's chicken sandwich was also very dry and poor quality with some sour dressing in it. My dad's egg was so runny and it was $15 for one toaste with avocado and eggs. One. Felt like everything was premade. More concerning, within about 30 minutes of eating, three people in our group experienced diarrhea, which raised serious concerns about the food. We spent nearly 150 dollars for what should have been a meaningful family celebration, and instead left feeling frustrated, disrespected, and honestly sick. You can choose your choice of potatoes or bread. Bread and fries were okay but that omelette was not it. There's an open air patio and an indoor area. Very spacious, but loud. Maybe coz I had a very vocal toddler sitting right next to me. Anyway. Loud. On to the foods. We had the chicken and waffles and steak and eggs. Pretty average fare. I think 32 bucks was a bit much for the steak and eggs. The better topping was ok. The butter infused hash browns were pretty good and the eggs were almost over medium. Passable and normal breakfast food. Nothing special. Nothing that stood out really. Yes, it's extremely pricey, but everything is these days, so I was willing to look past that because the food is actually pretty good. What I can't look past is the service at the register and the coffee. This is one of those places where you order everything at the register before you sit down. While we were ordering, it was loud and I genuinely couldn't hear her. When I politely asked her to repeat herself, the girl at the register seemed visibly annoyed, like I was inconveniencing her just by trying to understand the order. Not a great start. Then came the Vietnamese iced coffee -- stay away. I'm pretty sure this is just how they serve all their iced coffee, so consider this a warning. It was $7 and came out in a tiny glass with a ton of ice, so what I got was basically one sip. For that price, it felt like a total rip-off. I can't believe I'm saying this, but you get way more value at Starbucks. It's honestly comical that a place can be less value than Starbucks. Decent food, but between the annoyed register interaction and the ridiculous coffee portion/price, the whole experience felt like a scam. I won't be coming back. read more
