I've ordered coffee delivery from here once or twice, and finally dined in recently, by chance. We were originally going to have breakfast at another restaurant nearby, but the wait was too long. Bluestone popped up not being too far away so we came here instead. Luckily, there was no wait and even got a big round table. I felt bad and asked the server if there were people waiting but she said no. The food turned out pretty good. Simple but delicious. We got the BL Burrito and B.L.A.T.E, which is basically a breakfast sandwich. They both came with potato wedges, and I loved that they were very crispy as requested. It's a cute and clean little café. I really love that they allow dogs inside whether they are service dogs or not. That alone earns all the stars for me! read more

It was my first time visiting this cafe, and I didn't know that it was an Australian-style coffee company and chain restaurant. I was also a little surprised to learn that it was a sit-down restaurant. You can order through a server or the QR code on your table. It took me a while to figure out what I wanted, and the servers were patient with me as I browsed the menu. I ordered a cold brew and a bacon, egg, and cheese croissant. For my cold brew, I had it half-and-half. It was decently tasty and strong. I noticed that I had begun to drink it quickly, so I decided to take my time. I'm not sure if I can tell the difference in taste between cold brews and iced coffees. However, I can appreciate how this cafe takes 12 hours to formulate their cold brew flavor per their menu. I'd definitely consider coming back here to try one of their coffees served with vanilla ice cream. I also enjoyed the bacon, egg, and cheese croissant. The meal was quite filling and tasty as it came with some little potato wedges. I especially liked how the egg had a fluffy texture. The bacon was on the thinner side, but the other ingredients overall made for an enjoyable croissant sandwich. At times, the sandwich can feel naturally oily. It also came with some chipotle mayo, and I liked how it had more of a subtle taste. The table included a cloth napkin, which was helpful because I had to wipe my hands a lot. The ambience was nice with a mix of upbeat and relaxed electronic music in the background. There's a lot of space as well for small and big groups, including bar seating and a large outdoor patio. When I went in, it wasn't busy. The employees here were nice, friendly, and patient. They reiterated that I could stay in as long as I desired as I was studying. This place is cute. Such good vibes. I was really feeling it when we walked in. This would be my first time trying it. The food looks v yummy. It's picture perfect but the actual execution and service were lacking. My friend and I went on a nearby hike and then stopped in here for brunch after. We got in a little before 11am. Server came by to ask for drink orders. We ordered a couple drinks to share. We ordered an oak milk flat. Server asked if we wanted ice and said no, that we wanted it normal. I ordered a matcha latte with oak milk and they asked if I wanted sweetener, I said ok to the honey option and wanted it 25% sweetened. Then we order food. We waited a loooooong time for drinks to come. When it finally arrives, the order was wrong. They brought an iced coffee. My friend wanted caffeine already and said ok to the drink, I said let them remake it. He took one sip and said it was all wrong, I tried it and I see what he meant, it had hazelnut flavors and too much sugar. So he went up and said yes, make a typical flat white hot. So we waited a while longer. Then the original server comes and she says the oak milk draft comes with ice. We said no, we wanted the oak milk flat. She said that's what you ordered though. And I wish she had just apologized and said she misheard and oak flat was coming right up. It was a debacle and then finally the right coffee drink comes and we downed it. Another long while and food comes. We had ordered the BL burrito and lemon ricotta pancakes. - BL burrito: was tiny and very mid. The wedges it came with were delicious though. Def get the wedges. Super crispy and tasty. - Lemon ricotta pancakes: super dry and dense! When the pancakes first came out, I was super excited. They looked just like Japanese soufflé pancakes. I thought for sure they'd be light and fluffy. Total opposite and disappointing. They were dense and hard to eat. The flavors weren't v good either. Something seemed off. We left more than half this dish behind. We didn't get checked in on v much, otherwise I would've said the pancakes weren't good. Server brought the bill and they didn't remove the oak milk flat from the bill even though it was her mistake. On top of that, the splash of honey was upcharged $1, which no one told me! Had I known I would've skipped. I don't need sweetness. Also, oat milk is also upcharged $1 in a flat white, which no one let us know. Very nickel and dime here. She also asked if we wanted a box for the pancakes and I said no bc we didn't like them. She just said ok. I def wish I had asked for one of the items to be removed. I just felt so unpleased with the meal. I felt a bit led astray by all the positive reviews for my first time here. I guess it's hit or miss and I got a miss. I wish we went across the street to one of the other tried and true and better rated establishments instead but I wanted to try something new. I won't be returning. read more

Our server, Liam, was 10/10 when it came to customer service. He was super friendly, attentive, and very helpful with recommendations for both the food and drinks. We ordered the Strawberry Matcha Lattes, and they were delicious. I loved that you could taste the real strawberry pieces at the bottom of the drink. For food, we ordered the Warm Chicken & Ancient Grains bowl, which was really tasty. It had a fresh, lemony flavor that I absolutely loved. We also ordered the Ricotta Pancakes because they looked very appealing on the menu. Unfortunately, they were disappointing. The presentation was cute, the stack came with 3 pancakes, but the pancakes were smaller than a regular sized pancake. More importantly, they were very dry and not flavor. The ricotta topping was okay, but it wasn't enough to make up for the pancakes themselves. I really liked the overall concept of the restaurant. It has a cute beach vibe, and I especially loved the beach-style hanging lamps. Overall, it was a decent experience. Bluestone Lane is one of those places that checks off every single box in my book. There's nothing like a perfectly cured cup of espresso or tea while you're looking over a small menu that has well thought out and clean ingredients. I have to admit that the Aussie style breakfast is along with different twist on certain things that you wouldn't typically have for breakfast or initially caught my eye. I started off with the golden latte. It was a beautifully balanced turmeric latte with almond milk with a perfect amount of sweetness. Not only was it gut healing, but it's super warming on a chilly morning. While I was looking over the menu, I was between the breakfast burrito since everybody was ordering it or the soft scramble with chili oil. I landed on the soft scrambled chili crunch. It was served with a half avocado and rye toast the others in our party ordered pancakes, bacon, a chicken sandwich and a Yuzu drink. Everything came out in a timely manner and beautifully plated. I absolutely loved the soft scramble on Rye. It was a perfect serving size as well as hitting the spot for a not so traditional breakfast. As we're sitting there, I noticed everybody was ordering the lemon ricotta pancakes, so I could not resist and ordered some as well. I will say the most underwhelming part of that was the lemon ricotta pancakes due to the ratios for the pancake pancakes and lemon ricotta. Overall, my experience was spectacular. I found this amazing place by accident! My colleague and I had to meet to discuss issues at work, and we needed a quaint place to eat and chat. I ordered the most delicious blueberry matcha and almond croissant. The waitress was so kind to us and chatted with us. She made us feel so comfortable. The service was excellent. It is a very beautiful place inside, very bright and has beautiful pictures in the walls. My colleague and I will be going for brunch next time. I came with a friend for a late lunch and, upon entering, was told to take a seat anywhere. There are many tables inside and a nice patio, but it was too hot on this day to sit outdoors. We were immediately given a carafe of water and soon ordered our meals. I decided on a croissant sandwich with bacon, scrambled egg, cheddar cheese, with chipotle mayo, along with a hot mocha. The sandwich was superb! The fresh croissant is what really elevated it. The ingredients were all basic but the combination made for a perfect breakfast sandwich. The sandwich came with wedges (I used to call them jojos), which were crisp outside and potatoey-soft inside. Yummy. Came here on the way to LA from SD and thought it would be a cute brunch place with the family. Staff was overall friendly and the menu had many vegetarian options. They do have a kid menu and high chairs. I thought the food was tasty and for ambiance prices are fair. There was either no wait or a short wait on a Sunday morning. I also saw patrons studying or doing work solo like a cafe. We tried their green goddess salad which was very tasty and light. We finally checked out Bluestone Lane in Orange and honestly left feeling pretty underwhelmed, so we are giving it 3 stars. We had the avocado smash and one of the grain bowls, but both were very mediocre and just lacked any real flavor for the price. We also felt like the service was pretty much absent the entire time we were there, which made the experience even more frustrating. To top it off, the whole place was kind of dirty, from the tables to the floors, which isn't really what you want when you are trying to enjoy a meal. The one saving grace is the outside patio area. It is a really nice spot to sit on a clear day and we love that it is doggie friendly so our four legged family members can join us. There is also plenty of metered parking nearby which makes getting there easy. While the patio vibe is great, the lack of cleanliness and subpar food mean we probably will not be back. read more

My main reason for giving it 2 stars is because our entire table got their dishes except for 1. After asking two different servers, we were never really given an answer as to where her dish was. We planned on having brunch here yesterday after visiting Thompson Building Materials' design center in Orange as I had bookmarked this place for a while now. Finding parking in Old Town Orange on the weekends can be gnarly so I stood in line while my hubs looked for street parking. They don't take reservations and the wait took about 20 mins. Nice decor, light and bright inside. The service was friendly. We ordered coffee and hot chocolate but they were not hot. My hubs ordered the BL Burrito while I opted for the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes. Unfortunately, both items were underwhelming for the price. My experience at Bluestone lane was just okay. The interior is decorated very cute and whimsical. The atmosphere is calm and located in the beautiful old town Orange. The food was alright, I enjoyed my avocado toast but it was nothing special. My boyfriend ordered a sandwich that was kind of dry. They forgot to bring the sauce for him, which was supposed to be a creamy relish I think? But the sauce they brought out looked like curdled sour cream with chili. Smelled and tasted very off... They also forgot to add the cheese on my avocado toast (it's pictured since we asked for it afterwards), took 20 mins to take our order even though it was empty, and overall the service seemed rude. Bluestone Lane is so charming. I love the cafe ambiance here. It's in Old Towne Orange just off the circle. There isn't a ton of parking, so best to park in a lot and walk over. The BLATE (bacon, lettuce, avocado, tomato and egg was HEAVENLY. The brioche bun was soft and the perfect complement for the breakfast sandwich. The potato wedges were decent although I could have done without them. I also had their version of an Americano and I have to say, the best espresso flavor I have had in a long time. Good flavor without being too bitter. The service was good, although I think one server had the entire restaurant and that seemed like too much for one person. She was incredibly nice and helpful. I discovered Bluestone Lane, an Austrailian cafe, in Philadelphia and I loved it so much I literally made it my go-to meeting spot while I was travelling for work. I was so excited to find out that I had a local version in Old Towne Orange, however the experience was not as exciting here. On my first visit they were out of ice cream, which makes it impossible to make the Aussie Latte I like. That day they loss my business to Blk Dot Coffee next door. I decided not to write a review that day to give them another chance, because I REALLY enjoyed my visit in Philly. On my latest visit I came back and there seemed to be chaos again. Staff warned me they were 2 people short, and there could be a 30 minute delay. I'm like even for coffee?? They're like ohh coffee is okay. So I got my Aussie Latte ($6.50/20 oz). Mhmmm not the same. The coffee flavor was not as strong as I remembered and I wonder if it's because they're understaffed and rushed my coffee... but this is already a second chance. Our server was super friendly and welcoming -- she really made the meal even better. Then there was confusion as to which table ordered what. Waiters kept coming to our table with plates of food to ask if we ordered them. The food was very average. My wife and I came here for a last minute breakfast date and were really glad we did. Bluestone Lane Cafe ended up being a great find. The space itself is awesome. Very vibey with great decor and a lot more seating options than we expected. Indoor seating outdoor patio and some quieter tucked-away spots if you want to relax or get some work done. The staff was also super welcoming right when we walked in which always sets the tone. We both ordered the iced blueberry matcha and it was really good. The presentation was beautiful and the flavor was on point. Creamy matcha with just the right amount of blueberry sweetness and not overpowering at all. The only small note would be that it had a bit too much ice so next time I would definitely ask for light ice but overall we were very happy with it. For food I ordered the tomato bisque and it honestly exceeded expectations. Perfect portion size very creamy and the tomato flavor was smooth and not too acidic. Paired with the sourdough it was exactly what I was hoping for and easily a ten out of ten tomato soup for me. I also ordered the BL brekkie. The bacon was thick cut and very crispy which I loved. The poached eggs were cooked perfectly with a nice runny yolk. The only thing I adjusted was removing the mushrooms and some of the arugula as that combo was not quite for me but once I did that it was much better and I still enjoyed the dish overall. My wife ordered the turkey club and loved it. The sandwich was huge and ended up being a take home situation. It also came with a great sized salad. We asked about the vinaigrette and the staff was super kind and brought some out right away. Overall this is a great breakfast and brunch spot with good food great service and a relaxed atmosphere. Bluestone Lane has easily become my favorite study spot!! The atmosphere is perfect---calm, welcoming, and just the right balance of lively without being distracting. It's the kind of place where you can actually focus and enjoy being there for a few hours. The food is consistently delicious, and the drinks are just as good. What really sets this location apart, though, is the staff. Julie, Abby, Maddy, Maggie, and Emma are all amazing--genuinely some of the friendliest, most welcoming servers I've come across.
