Thinking of Lola's
Sally T.

Love the bangus sisig and chicken adobo, but their lines kill me. Thank goodness for virtual wait lists because I do not have the youth for queueing in the morning anymore!! The service is top notch and dishes are cooked with so much love. You can tell every dish was blessed by someone's grandma before being brought to your table, hahaha. It's actually been awhile since I've been here, but I don't recall ever trying a dish I didn't love. From sweet to savory, Lola's by MFK does it all and they do it well.

Two egg - Tocino
Abigail M.

My best friend took me here after she reassured me multiple times I would love it lol. And turns out... I did end up loving it! I ordered the 2 egg w/ tocino. I was actually confused at first because the tocino wasn't the typical red color I was used to so I was kinda thrown off. But it ended up tasting delicious regardless! Me and my friend ended up also sharing the lumpia and it really did remind me a lot of the lumpia my lola made when I was growing up. The service was good, and there was ample room for us to get seated on a late Thursday morning! The murals on the wall were also super adorable. The experience was overall wonderful. Would def come again!

Breakfast bowl with sausage

What a wonderful breakfast experience! I needed a simple breakfast that would not leave me stuffed and was tasty and this did not disappoint. Two things that brought me in: cold brew flight and Ube, and I got a lot more than that! The food was tasty, I had my sweet and savory and was not disappointed! The service was pretty good, and the lady was patient with me while I decided on my order and answered all our questions! I love this is a small business- it was so cute and situated in a nice shopping center right off the freeway with superchargers nearby in case you have a trip ahead of you. Will def be back for more!

We were super excited to try this Filipino spot and had heard great things. It definitely lived up to the hype. Service was good overall. Ambiance is a fun cute brunch spot. - Silog Breakfast Bowl with Longanisa 5/5: Good portion size and delicious all around, everything was super flavorful. - Ube Tres Leches French Toast 5/5: So yummy! Sweet but still really good and not overwhelming. - Ube Cold Brew 5/5: Delicious and a fun, unique drink to go with the meal.

Ahí Tuna Sisig

MUST TRY!!! Had a great visit at Lola's by MFK! From the moment we walked in, the space felt vibrant and welcoming, with a modern twist on Filipino comfort food that made the whole experience feel fun and memorable. We ordered the ahi tuna sisig and the adobo fried rice omelet, and both dishes absolutely stood out. The ahi tuna sisig was UNIQUE, fresh and flavorful--perfectly seasoned with that signature tangy, savory kick, while still letting the quality of the fish shine. It had a great balance of brightness and richness that kept every bite interesting. The adobo fried rice omelet was just as impressive. The rice was packed with that classic garlicky, slightly tangy adobo flavor, and wrapping it in a soft, fluffy omelet took it to another level. It was hearty, comforting, and incredibly satisfying without feeling too heavy. For drinks, we tried the ube cold brew and the buko pandan cold brew, and both were unique in the best way. The ube cold brew had this smooth, slightly sweet and nutty flavor that paired surprisingly well with the coffee, while the buko pandan version was refreshing and subtly tropical, making it a perfect complement to the meal. You can really tell they put creativity and care into everything they serve, and it shows. Highly recommend trying the ahi tuna sisig and the adobo fried rice omelet--plus the cold brews if you're feeling adventurous. Definitely looking forward to coming back and exploring more of the menu!

Ube pancakes

Our first time checking out Lola's and we are so happy we did! Everything we ordered is absolutely delicious. I ordered the bang-silog which is the fried whole milk fish, it comes with the garlic rice and tomato salad. The fish was perfectly cooked and tender, went perfectly with the rice and the tomato salad gave a nice freshness to the bite. We also tried the silog breakfast bowl with the tocino. Tocino was well marinated and delicious! Ube pancakes were for dessert, not overly sweet and the pancakes had the perfect chew. Service was very friendly and warm. Jas, our waitress, was wonderful! The ambiance is very homey with cute decor. We will be back for sure, I know I'm going to be craving this breakfast again!

Adobo Fried Rice Omelet

I got a chance to try Lola's again and ordered different items. It's safe to say that it's worth thr hype/wait! I got the ube french toast this time and the pandan coffee. They were both so delish and not too sweet. I also tried their lumpia, which was good, but nothing too special about it. Food came out super quick and service was amazing. Will definitely be back.

I'd been to their dinner service, but I finally got the chance to try out this iconic brunch! Luckily, it was restaurant week so we got to enjoy the brunch kamayan deal which came with a cold brew or mimosa for $35. THE FOOD: It was actually my first time eating kamayan, so was definitely excited for the experience! It fed 1-2 people, and I think it was good enough for me and my friend to share. The garlic rice was an amazing base for all of the dishes on the kamayan, with the longanisa and tocino being my favorite. Both were perfectly sweet, and the tocino was rich and tender. Beef tapa and chicken adobo were also good, and the lumpia was on par with past lumpia I've had. The cherry tomato salad was a nice palate cleanser. They have thai chilis available, either whole or sliced, and there were condiments at the table like banana ketchup, seasoning sauce, and hot sauces. THE SERVICE: Super long wait to be seated, though I'm not sure if it was different due to restaurant week. There's a system to queue up and they text you when it's your turn. Once seated, food came out decently fast. Servers were very nice and helpful! THE VIBES: Pretty cozy - I'd bring friends, family, or a date here! BOTTOM LINE: Don't think I'd be here too often due to the wait, but glad I got to try it! I wouldn't be mad if someone invited me out here though (as long as they come first and queue up for me? ;) )

Great food. Good portions service was friendly and fast. Smaller in size but on a Thursday morning plenty of seats. Weekends might be more packed

Pancake flight

This is the epitome of Filipino comfort food for me. Garlic rice + over easy egg + longanisa for the win EVERYTIME. The Bangsilog is perfect with the garlic Vinengar. We topped it off with a pancake flight. THOROUGHLY ENJOYED THIS MEAL! The service was warm and welcoming. I love the option of joining the waitlist through the site. We timed it to where we waited out front for a couple min. Great option!!! Thank you LOLA'S! We're definitely coming back and recommending our friends and family to try it!

This is a fun place for Filipino brunch! The place is beautifully decorated and there's a beautiful mural that celebrates lolas and apos iykyk. There is a bit of a wait on weekends so plan accordingly. We ordered a mimosa flight to drink. For our mains, we got lumpia shanghai, adobo omelette rice, pancake flight, and ube tres leches french toast. Mimosa Flight- This is a fun way to try a bit of everything! You get calamansi, mango, hibiscus. and orange. The calamansi is citrusy and sweet, a sweet throwback to every Filipino child's version of lemonade. Mango had a mild and sweet flavor. Hibiscus was on the floral side but still refreshing. Orange is always a classic. Lumpia Shanghai- Served hot and crisp. It's filled with a ground pork mixture that is packed with flavor. The sweet chili sauce served is a must have! Adobo Rice Omelette- You get adobo garlic rice which is flavorful and aromatic. Topped with fluffy omelette and finished with brown gravy. Such a rich dish. Pancake Flight- This catered to our sweet tooth. We got the mango, ube oreo, and avocado. Mango was sweet and fruity. Ube was rich with vanilla undertones and oreo crunchies. Avocado was mild and creamy. They gave each pancake a generous amount of sauce. Ube Tres Leches French Toast- The bread was custardy with a nice sear. It was saturated with rich ube sauce and finished with almonds and whipped cream. Very tasty! Great experience overall!

Longanisa

I came across Lola's by MFK through a fellow Yelper a while back and absolutely had to bookmark the restaurant. With my daughter finding her love for sweet Filipino sausage [like myself], I couldn't NOT make the visit during a SoCal trip. During our recent 4 day trip to LA, I made sure to coordinate at least one meal where we could give this spot a try. Please keep in mind that Lola's is a breakfast|brunch spot so the hours are pretty limited. Hours range form 8:30am-2pm, 7 days a week. With the restaurant being close to where we were staying, I didn't think rushing was necessary. Boy was I wrong. This spot attracts large parties, large crowds, and will absolutely fill up QUICK! Do not delay and immediately sign up via the QR code listed on the board placed outside of the entrance. For reference: our party of 3 waited well over an hour and a half just to be seated. Come patient. Brunch consisted of: * [Lola's Special] BRUNCH KAMAYAN- sharable with 2-4 people. * CALAMANSI JUICE * BUKO PANDAN COLD BREW * EXTRA SIDE ORDER OF LONGANISA Food: Everything was presented beautifully. The brunch kamayan was truely a showstopper with it's spread meant for communal dining. With a price tag of $65, you are provided garlic rice, tocino, longanisa, beef tapa, chicken adobo, lumpia, sunny side up eggs, and garnish with some fruit. In terms of serving size, this was perfect for myself, BD, and toddler. Unfortunately, the food itself was just okay. The tocino and longanisa were good, the chicken adobo was okay, and the beef tapa was DRYYYYYY. The mini lumpias were delicious and I enjoyed the tomato salad. Buko pandan cold brew was good and although the calamansi juice wasn't fresh, it was thirst quenching 3.5/5 rating, Glad I was able to try Lola's by MFK but absolutely wouldn't come back if I was forced to wait that grueling timeframe again. Amazing spot for photos but it terms of flavors, it just didnt do it for me. I'd openly skip out on the brunch platter and would stick to the longanisa bowl + try out the pancakes.

Bangus Sisig
Zarifa A.

Lola's is a Filipino fusion brunch spot, and WOW, it did not disappoint. I ordered the bangus sisig, which is finely chopped milk fish marinated in a zesty blend of citrus with stir-fried onions, bell peppers, and egg. This was my first time having bangus sisig so I didn't have anything to compare it to, but it was honestly very different from anything I've had before and was soooo delicious!! I highly recommend ordering it if you're a fan of savory brunch. We also ordered ube French toast for the table to share and was impressed by that as well! I came on a Sunday with a group of 4 and there was a slight wait for a table. The interior was casual and had island vibes. Service was friendly as well! Overall, I really enjoyed this spot and would recommend it.

Monkish is the archetype of the undrinkable-but-worshipped California brewery -- sixteen IPAs and one sad, soapy afterthought of a pilsner. There's no food on offer aside from whatever vendor might be visiting, and he was sold out when we visited. We cut our visit even shorter than usual because one bartender kept interjecting in a voice so loud that it literally startled us each time he made chit-chat with other patrons.
