Although we were the only ones there, the place had a very welcoming and friendly ambiance. My family and I were greeted as we walked in, which was nice. We took a while looking at the menu as it was the first time many of us were having Mediterranean food (ever or in a while). There was ample indoor and outdoor seating, but I can imagine that not being the case during rush hour or busy times. I ordered the Baba's Burger, which had the following items (as per their website): Koobideh beef patty, za'atar labneh, lettuce, tomato, sumac onions, pickled cabbage, & Arabic pickle. This burger was exceptionally rich in flavor and quite memorable. However, the burger was also almost $20. I am unsure if that was a reasonable price. I'm a big fan of Mediterranean cuisine so I went anyway and here's what I have to say to those who are thinking of trying Baba G. They were absolutely right. You're going to pay sit down restaurant prices while eating out of paper plates. $20 chicken kebab plus tax and tips - that is the exact same price as at Panini Kabob Grill. The pricing point is kind of a stretch for work lunch hour meals. I'm not sure that too many people are going to be willing to pay $25 for their lunches but the quality of food seems to be on point and that is rare around the downtown area where most restaurants serve burgers, fries, and all sort of deep fried dishes. For that price, honestly, my bigger beef was eating out of paper plates. Chipotle does this, but their meals are a lot more generous and cheaper. I think you should definitely give this place a try at least once and then decide whether to come back by yourself. The food was good. read more

The variety of toppings, each one distinctly flavored, fresh, crisp, well seasoned, delicious! Whenever someone suggests Baba G, the rest of us quickly agree. One heads up is if you're picking up the food. If you can, it's advisable to drop someone off to get the food and plan to either stay in the car if you find a close place to stop briefly, or circle the block. There's also a structure if you're going to eat at the restaurant and, of course, delivery. Just picking up is a bit of a hurdle, which we have gladly managed many times. read more

Unfortunately it wasn't very tender and over cooked and dry in quite a few pieces. For my 4 toppings I went with cucumber, sumac onion, olives and crunchy garbanzo beans. Baba G's redeemed itself. When they first opened, the gourmet Lebanese food prices of Byblos stayed but the aesthetic took on a more fast casual approach and the portions were small. While it's still quite pricey ($18.50 for a chicken shawarma salad bowl) the portions are way bigger than they used to be. However, and most importantly - the food is just really good. Meats are cooked great, the burger is crazy good and the fries are seasoned perfectly. Staff has only ever been good as well. I normally stick to the salad bowl and leave stuffed. The key thing here is that this isn't Greek or Persian - it's Lebanese. And the flavors and spices of Lebanon are unique and for me preferred over other Mediterranean restaurants. It'd be a perfect 5 stars if only there were a lunch special or just slightly lower prices. Lots of other Mediterranean spots are easily 30% cheaper - but I get it. The Orange Circle has big rents and the oils and ingredients are premium. Still looking forward to coming back and strongly recommend. read more

Tried this place for the first time for lunch and the food looked good. For an order of fries, chicken schwarma, and a bowl it came out to $72. I think that's pretty expensive for what you get. It's all hard seating in the place no cushions. Theres a little spot at the back where you can sit at some more tables but be careful of the door or it'll hit you on the way back in. Food was brought out the waitress was nice. Food looked good and hot which is a good sign but I look closer at my food and find a long black hair in it. To some people maybe not a big deal but to me completely ruins my appetite. And for almost $80 worth of food I was very unhappy. So I went back to see what can be done and they offer to give me a refund for the bowl or give me a new bowl not both. So I take the refund but they can't give me a receipt for the return and I've been screwed before so I tell them I need something to prove the money was returned because I don't want to come back and not have proof of the return if it didn't go through. She says it might come back while I'm there so I told her I will sit down and when my wife is done eating I'll come back if it isn't returned. Money isn't returned so I go back and a gentleman at the counter charges me again without the bowl and my money is returned since it's still on hold through the card. And I ask him why nobody is wearing hair nets or hair covers in the kitchen and he claims they don't have to. Obviously they do or I wouldn't have hair in my food but I digress.
