Omgeeee!!! This place is like a hidden gem in the city of Orange. Definitely underrated. Service is great by owners and the food is exceptional. Everything is freshly made. Inside feels like you're in a whole different country and I love how they based their flavors off their country, culture. Since it was my very first time I had great recommendations by the owner and omgeee sooo delicious, again so much flavors and great seasoning. Also follow them on IG as well.

Once I walked inside Goodies In The Pantry, I felt I was traveling in time or visiting a different country. The vibe was rustic and had vintage style. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. There were plenty of parking spots. I went with a friend to try Romanian food. The menu includes many delicious dishes. For example; beef or pork stew, tri tip sandwich, chicken fricassee, Romanian Bruschetta, pork chop and more. The restaurant runs by a wonderful and friendly family. They cook everything from the scratch. I ordered Mici with bread.Mici is Romanian skinless grilled sausage. It was rich, juicy, and very flavorful. I waited around thirty minutes until I got my order ready. I didn't mind at all because the food was worth every minute. I also grabbed some products from their grocery to try. I bought: - Balkanika cascaval 16.61 - pate Mother Groose Gaiser 10.91 - 3 Rom Mic 6.21 - 3 Biscuit Cu Rom 6.21 - Duck Prosciutto 50.91 Goodies In The Pantry is a hidden gem in Orange. I just had an outstanding experience. For sure, I will come back to try more of their authentic dishes.

Summary of my order before submitting and paying.

You say you are feeling off, impatient, angry. You need something to sooth that savage soul and feed your vulnerable side? Some great, ethnic comfort food wouldn't hurt, either? Well, boy do I have a place for you! What a lovely start. As I stepped inside, I felt my entire body being swept away to another time and place. Every square inch was beckoning, asking my mind to forget the California, uninspiring hot asphalt outside and embrace the imaginary, rustic, 100 year old Romanian farmhouse decor inside. The only thing missing was the sweet little old bunică (grandmother) wearing traditional hand woven clothing and a headscarf to greet you. However, I'm pretty sure she was there in spirit. This tiny, hole in the wall cafe offers a nostalgic menu of breakfast, lunch, and dinner items, traditional Romanian style. Hearty soups, stews, smoked meats and exotic sausages, delectable sandwiches, beautiful steaks, lamb, and more depending on the season, each one sounding better than the last. The spell is only briefly broken as you discover you must place your own order and pre-pay on a touch screen computer. Honestly, it's quite easy. I like that each entree has a beautiful photo attached so you can see exactly what each entree looks like. The food presentations are beautiful. The prices are insanely reasonable. My only complaint was I was too short (5'2") to reach the top of the screen to cancel the page. I never imagined being vertically challenged might cause trouble here. The friendly owner/chef came to my rescue. I had to try the Stuffed Potato topped with burnt ends (smoked brisket ?). Traditional? Probably not. Good? Hell yeah. A whole, tender baked potato, split open and covered with melted white cheese, burnt ends, and generous amounts of smoked pork belly lardons. Perfect. This was served with a tzatziki (?) sauce made of sour cream, goat feta cheese, and dill. The accompanying "pickle" turned out to be a crunchy, pickled cabbage slaw. The grilled, half corn on the cob that came with my meal was buttery delicious and lightly salted. $15.99 Smoked pork ribs. I believe this included 4 nicely smoked ribs, drizzled with a bbq sauce. It came with one side, plus the aforementioned pickled slaw. I highly recommend the house made sourkrout (her spelling, not mine). It was a very mellow, non acidic version with a delicate smoked flavor. $15.99 Add to that a side of homemade mashed potatoes. Not your grandma's recipe, and delicious. $4.99 Atmosphere is welcoming and incredibly calming. Seating is quite limited, mostly 2 top and 4 top tables. The final touch was soft, soothing, New-age music in the background (think pianist, Danny Wright). There are also more than a few imported grocery items displayed on shelves for those adventurous chefs who know how to use them, or found a great recipe they must try. Plenty of food, enough to bring home for another small meal. And a great chef! I can hardly wait to return to try more. Loved it!

This is a cute little place. The inside reminds me of a country store you would find on a road trip. I ordered the ribs for lunch. They came with macaroni salad. The meal was good however the ribs were a little salty. There are so many other meats on the menu I want to give them a try. The employees were friendly and the atmosphere is relaxing. I can't wait to return.

Delicious food! I had the chicken stew. It was really flavorful so yummy, and my husband had the Philadelphia steak sandwich it was awesome too. Great little place. Owners are very friendly. We highly recommend.

My friends wanted to eat here and it was a special day for me. Yet despite the very nice service and the charming atmosphere I felt that the quality of my medium rare breakfast steak wasn't up to par. I like my steaks medium rare yet my steak seemed well done and not really seasoned. My eggs came sunny side up. They never asked how I liked my eggs. I usually get my eggs over easy or scrambled. The several tiny potatoes were good and the bread that came with the meal was good... but not enough butter. Place and service is nice... but sorry... not my cup of tea.

Romanian Platter. Yummy!

It's always a pleasure coming back again and again at Goodies in the Pantry, which ard more than friendly people and great professionals. Amazing food, always tasty and... yummy!!!

This place is amazing! The food is so fresh, hot and delicious. The prices aren't bad at all. My husband and I come here at least once a week. You can't go wrong with the the steak and eggs.

Rib plate so good!

Brisket sandwich

Want to win some money?! Bet your friend, your spouse, your coworkers that you can take them to the best sandwich in OC. Then take them to this hidden gem in Orange on Katella near the 55. I had the brisket sandwich and it was the best ever- moist and tender, great bark on the meat and very flavorful. The sauce and pickles, the roll it was served on, mmmm- all made for a delicious bite! Come hungry as it's a big sandwich. It comes with sides. Sauerkraut and potato salad were 2 I tried and just added another depth of good taste. The restaurant is small but clean and comfortable. The service and knowledge by the owner was great. Check out their website and look at the menu so you can start anticipating what you want. And you won't be disappointed! This place knows meat!!

Best Meatball Soup Ever

Soups will put your soul to rest. Simple as that. The quality of the food is so high, it is nothing like you've had before.

Pickles, peppers and sauerkraut are always a must!

Overall, everything lacked flavor, although I will say the red salsa served with the chips was delicious. My friend ordered the avocado toast, but it was basically just a slice of bread with sliced avocado--no seasoning, condiments, or anything to make it stand out. The small garden salad was equally underwhelming, consisting of only romaine lettuce and cherry tomatoes with no dressing or even a drizzle of olive oil. I ordered the Eggs Benedict, but they were more like open-faced boiled eggs since the yolks were completely hard instead of runny. The café de olla had a nice flavor, but it was much sweeter than expected. I think it would be better if they served it unsweetened (or lightly sweetened) and let customers adjust the sugar to their own taste. I really wanted to enjoy this place because the ambiance is so charming, but the food just didn't live up to the experience.
