    Chicken and beef plate

Came back and the food was still incredible. Ordered the chicken and beef combo which was delicious. salad with the sweet sauce is great, the portion and value is amazing. Service is also top notch- my favorite protein and rice restaurant in OC

Really good food. I got the number six.. which was a bowl of rice with orange chicken. The chicken was a little on the crunchier side, but I didn't mind that at all. The pricing was reasonable for the area. They had indoor seating, and the staff was so sweet. I'd definitely stop by again.

Bomb big portion food, with great customer service. Came here looking for a chicken plate and boy did they deliver. They are not skimpy with their meat, and to top it off it taste great. Next time I'm in the area and looking for a bowl, I'll be coming here

    Excellent value.

Excellent value and great service here at Tikiyaki!! Got myself a chicken and beef plate with only veggies. Comes with an egg roll. 12.99. So much good I think I can get 3 meals out of this. Food quality is great. I wish it had some char flavor like some other places but overall still an excellent product. And excellent value. Next time I do want to try the orange chicken !

A lot of the reviews boast about the generous portions and good value. I absolutely agree. I also value that they provide the options of having brown rice without upcharging at additional fees. Eating our meal there, you can tell it was very popular with the large amount of pick-up and to-go orders. It's a mom and pop type of establishment where the people working there seem to have a relationship with the regulars and value the ideals of good customer service. Inside it's clean and well organized.

Piece of metal found in my teriyaki chicken bowl from Tikiyaki
    Tyler D.

It kills me to have to write this review. I have been going to Tikiyaki for YEARS. Food has always been amazing and the staff are great. They know so many of their customers by name and are always so friendly. Their teriyaki is the best I've ever had. Unfortunately, I ate there this past Friday (12/5/2025) at around 2pm. I ordered a standard teriyaki chicken bowl to go and ate in my truck. I ate probably half the bowl before I noticed a small, sharp piece of metal in my food. It was slightly twisted and thick. I could not straighten it with my hands and it took pliers to straighten (did this to see how strong it was and what type/where it could have came from) it was so sharp that when I picked it out of my food, it cut my hand and I was bleeding. Because of the size of it, I could have easily swallowed it without ever knowing. This is a serious health issue. Due to the fact that I ate half the meal, there was fear that I could have swallowed another piece of the metal that could have been there and I ended up in the emergency room. Because of the size of the metal fragment found, the doctor said a CT scan or X-ray would most likely not find anything that may be inside me. I was told that the next few days were critical and all I could really do was monitor for symptoms. The physician said that if I did end up with symptoms, that it's very dangerous and I would likely end up needing emergency exploratory surgery to find the metal causing damage. He also informed me that this injury as well as the surgery to fix it could cause other long term issues like lack of gastric motility. Because of this, I have no other choice but to write this review, and contact the health department. For anyone eating there, please be safe and keep an eye out for anything that may be in your food. I sincerely hope that this (or worse) does not happen to anyone else.

    Stephanie S.

The staff is super nice and friendly!! Very patient! The place is clean and pretty roomy for a small store! The food is delicious the bowl is actually a very filling size!!! They offer veggies too and the have a vegan option it's tofu and veggies! The orange chicken is very crispy!!

Nothing crazy, just genuine good energy where you can tell they enjoy what they do and are happy to talk to you. I ordered a Ka Moa combo plate with teriyaki chicken and chicken katsu as well as spam musubi. The food was, in a word, delicious! The chicken katsu was solid, not as crispy as I would like but I did take it to go so that factors into that. The teriyaki chicken was outstanding, perfect flavor, a slight sweet char taste where it was flame kissed, I would order this again and again! Their Mac salad is different from what you get from an Aloha or Ono, not as sweet and didn't have the tang but even with that I enjoyed it and would eat it again. The only thing I would skip next time is the musubi. While it was okay in flavor the ratio of rice to spam was so far skewed it didn't seem worth it. One woman in particular (presumably a manager or long-time employee) was shockingly, aggressively rude in a way that's hard to overstate. She barked orders and accusations at customers with zero patience, yelling over trivial things that no reasonable person could possibly know or control. Her tone was dripping with contempt, her attitude unapologetically hostile, and her behavior screamed ignorance wrapped in unearned entitlement. Zero warmth, zero professionalism--just pure, unfiltered disdain for the very people paying her bills. No one should have to endure being treated like an inconvenience or an idiot just to eat decent barbecue. The food might be worth a try if you're willing to stomach verbal abuse, but for most of us, it's not. Her complete lack of basic decency and customer service skills makes this place actively unpleasant. I won't be back, and I can't in good conscience recommend it to anyone who values being treated like a human being. One star only because the ribs themselves don't deserve zero--but she absolutely does.

The Iloko Moco was easily one of the highlights. It comes with country fried steak, two sunny eggs, garlic rice, adobo gravy, green onions, and fried garlic. The flavor was great and everything blended together really well. I liked that the steak still had a good crunch even with the gravy, and the garlic rice was pronounced without being too overpowering. It's definitely more Filipino inspired than a traditional Hawaiian loco moco, but that's not a bad thing at all. The Ube Tres Leches French Toast was also really good. It was drenched in ube tres leches sauce and topped with fresh fruit, toasted coconut, and shaved almonds. The ube flavor was actually on point and noticeable, but the dish somehow still didn't feel too heavy. The French toast itself was soft and easy to eat. For drinks, the Thai Tea Cold Brew was solid. It had a little more Thai tea flavor than the ube drink and felt more full-bodied overall. The Ube Sweet Cream Cold Brew was fine, but it leaned much more cold brew than ube. The ube flavor was pretty light and kind of got swallowed up by the coffee once mixed together. Both drinks were okay, but I think the food stood out a lot more. The cafe itself is cute, but a little rough around the edges. It has that Anaheim feel where it's charming, but not as polished as something you might see in Irvine. The tables could have been wiped down a bit more, and there were some dents and dings on the walls. Service was fine at first and they checked on us early, but after the food came out, it was hard to get anyone's attention. We needed extra utensils and had a tough time waving someone down. Overall, I'd still come back for the Iloko Moco and Ube Tres Leches French Toast because those were both really good. #goodeats
