What I noticed when ordering online is the simplicity of these bowls. You don't have to choose between a ton of different toppings, which is refreshing! This is one of the best places I've had poke. The fish is fresh and the sauce is delicious. For the price, they give a good amount of fish and food. Sometimes the service is a little slow one there is one person working, but for the most part, it is a great place to get your poke fix fast. It's been six years since I've made a review, and it's not because I haven't been back. I've been here very often and it never occurred to me that I haven't updated my review. Here's my update! Since my review six years ago, I've stopped by multiple times a year for food here. I've always built my own bowl with salmon as my protein, the Jay-o-Lee sauce, no salad, white rice, and plenty of onions. My rice always comes hot and the portions are always very generous. The sauce is delicious as it was always, and nothing ever changes. This business has changed by being more technologically advanced. They've inserted a kiosk for quick orders so the workers can focus on making the bowls instead. You can also order online for pickup, but the catch is, you can't earn points with your phone number unless you order in store. The inside is simple and modern. There are numerous tables and chairs for you to sit and quickly eat your bowl. There's free water, sauces, and your choice of forks or chopsticks. I love stopping by Poke District when I'm in OC! Their poke is fresh and simple, like the ones in Hawaii. Just fish, warm rice, cucumbers, crabmeat, and seaweed is all you need. They also offer a variety of yummy sauces. It's a small shop with a good amount of seating available and can get busy during certain hours. I loved how fresh the avocado was too, it added a nice creamy texture to the bowl. The only thing that's missing for me is a bit of sesame oil, but that's just personal preference. In short, a bit more minimal but authentic Hawaiian poke spot, with quality ingredients. I've been eating poke for years, and just had a chance to try this spot. My regular spot in this area closed down and turned into a sushi bar, but I saw this one while searching for nearby poke, and the Yelp reviews were great, so why not? So I'm a bit used to poke spots where you pick between up to 6-8 proteins, from tuna and salmon to things like octopus, scallops, etc. and a ton of different toppings like edamame, nuts, and even crushed Cheetos. This place is a bit more minimal, but what it does have, it does well. Your main options are limited to tuna and salmon, with crabmeat, cucumbers, seaweed salad, furikake seasonings on your choice of white/brown rice or salad, and of course a variety of sauces. Instead of coming in a bowl where you're expected to mash and mix it all together, it's a bit deconstructed and all the ingredients are next to each other - though after tasting everything separately I still decided to mix it all together. The quality of both the tuna and salmon were excellent, as were the other ingredients. I have a tolerance for heat, so I tried the lava sauce, and it certainly had a kick to it! The Build Your Own was deceptively filling, and i was satisfied when I finished it. Overall, I was on the fence about giving this 4 stars instead of 5 just because the limited options, but Poke District is unapologetic about what it serves, and does it well. Mahalo! read more

Extra meat is always ordered, but not sure how they're weighing stuff because every time seems different, so I'm like is it even worth it adding extra if there isn't any?
