Disappointed with my visit to Boil Daddy For $56, I expected a lot better. The shrimp came out mushy, the potatoes were still hard/undercooked, and the crab legs were overcooked to the point of being almost inedible. The sauce was genuinely tasty and honestly the only redeeming part of the meal. Unfortunately, that wasn't enough to make up for the poor quality of the seafood. Not worth the price.

Ordered one of the combo meals for $85.. First lobster tail color was fine, but very rough and had absolutely no flavor at all.. 2nd lobster tail is literally black.. Boil Daddy please make this right..

Been looking for an easy and quick seafood boil place and this did it for me! I got the Daddy's Shrimp Bowl ($17), which came with a good amount of shrimp, potatoes, sausages and rice -- all super filling! There was so much sauce too, so the flavor was in every single bite. The service was fast. I didn't really interact with anyone since there was a kiosk to place your orders, but I received my food pretty fast right after ordering. I also went at noon on a Saturday and it was very slow. Since it was slow, it was very quiet and empty. There are a good amount of tables (it is all outdoor), so there was no problem finding a seat if you needed it. They also had a hand washing sink, which I appreciated. I would come back to try their other dishes such as the noodles and wings too.

The takeout Mussels and Shrimp with Daddy Sauce were cooked well. The shrimp were large. The Churro with Chocolate Sauce was a tasty dessert, though some of the churros were a bit harder than others. It was nice to have a dessert option since The Boiling Crab and The Kickin' Crab don't offer one. The butcher paper is self-service.

Wow , I went to boil daddy and tried they have. Wow the food that I got was packed with flavors, not sure with other restaurants in Orange. But boil daddy hits . It's bussin , the flavor and spice taste amazing . I'm coming back again and try different things. They even have churros and ice cream which is awesome. This is 10 out of 10 . yo this so good

We ordered 1lb of mussels & 1lb of shrimp, both with daddy sauce, and they were really good. The sauce has a lot of garlic and flavor. The garlic fries were also super tasty. The medium spice level was perfect - spicy enough to enjoy but not spicy enough to cough and have a runny nose throughout the meal. Also they have a deal that mussels are $1 off if you eat here before 3pm. The proportion of the food here feels smaller than Boiling Crab even though it's the same weight. Each pound of seafood was able to fit into those small brown cardboard to-go containers which threw us off because we didn't know if it was enough food since it was so compact. We also didn't like that we had to pay extra for the sides (sausage, potatoes) when it's usually included with 1lb+ orders at other places. We also feel like they skimped out on the sauce a little bit - other places usually give you loads of sauce that we can drench the seafood in. Boil Daddy gave only enough sauce to season the seafood. They were also very exact on the amount of salt and pepper packets they give with each pound as seen on the receipt. We also didn't like that we ordered Boil Daddy for takeout and asked for butcher paper but they said it was only for dine-in customers, even though there were barely any people there and the butcher paper looked like it was open for anyone to take if needed. Other places usually provide/include complimentary butcher paper with takeout orders. We ended up having to use our own parchment baking sheets at home.

We arrived to this location with a large crowed. We had about 14 people in our party. I didn't think they were ready to accommodate so many people at once as it's a small establishment. We waited 45 min or longer for our food. The food came out piping hot which was great. The food was good, will I come here again...absolutely. The only negatives was our rice was undercooked , which is prob due to them rushing to get our food out. The daddy noods and the daddy shrimp bowl was good. I added sausage to my bowl and to add one small sausage was $4.50. The mahalo shrimp was ok, it wasn't crispy as I thought it should have been. The fried mahalo fish is a must, prob the best thing I ate besides the daddy noods. They had grand opening prices which was very affordable. No bathroom, no indoor seating.

I ordered their mussels & clams to go with their daddy sauce & it was really good! I wasn't expecting it to be an outdoor spot. But I thought it was cute! It came with sliced lemons. I ordered the mild sauce and it wasn't too spicy & boiling crab mild is too spicy for me. So that was a major plus! I was so excited to eat it I didn't take a pic of the food.

Had to come back for a second visit and it did not disappoint. I originally planned to come with my cousins, but when they canceled, I brought my mom and sister instead. It turned out even better. Everyone loved it, and it was my sister's first time trying real crab legs, which made it extra special. The pricing is fair and one bag was more than enough for the three of us. Huge shoutout to Juan. His service completely turned my mood around. He is always so attentive and genuinely makes us feel valued every time we come in. This place has easily become my favorite and experiences like that are exactly why. read more

First time trying boil daddy. And I am impressed. Usually these boils are too salty but it was very good here. Got some shrimp and clams. The seafood was cooked right. Not overdone. I passed this place many times for the past few years, always wanted to try but was deterred by the emptiness of it. Finally went and tried the Fisherman's lunch - decent portion, OmG spicy level does make you cough and sweat but totally worth it. Got cajun flavor which was not salty or over powering. It's definitely worth stopping by to try. I'll be back to try other items. read more

Had the half crawfish, half king crab legs. Crawfish tasted like they just thawed them and had freezer taste. Potatoes were undercooked, still very firm. Sauce we ordered, garlic butter with mild heat. Sauce was not very flavorful and for as much garlic they put on it, was not very tasty. I will not be returning, which is sad because it's right around the corner from where I live. read more

Ordering was done on the kiosk. I was a little meh about having to order on the kiosk but it was painless, easy and quick. The restaurant is an outdoor seating area. Paper covering for the tables, utensils, napkins and gloves are easily accessible. The food was absolutely delicious. I will definitely be going back to boil daddy. This location doesn't serve alcohol which is ok. read more

The outdoor seating is clean and welcoming. The picture menus are a nice touch. The ordering kiosk is user friendly. Now to the food. I got the fried fish on my first visit and it was a good portion with a light, crispy flavorful batter cooked perfect! Came with fries which were okay. Second visit the crispy shrimp Yumm light crispy flavorful and a good size. What I also liked is that it did not taste fishy at all. I would get both again! The food takes a little bit long, but it's worth it for the freshness & flavors. My only small suggestion: service can be a bit more attentive and if they can please double check that everything ordered and needed is accounted for. What really stood out though and made this our new go to place was the employees. Juan was the friendliest most helpful guy I have ever see at a restaurant. He made the trip. 2nd time around. First time wasn't the best and they had just opened so it's understandable. It's getting better guys. Ordered through Doordash this time. Ordered Medium Spicy and I would say it's very tolerable. Not spicy at all. Also still has a bit sweetness to it which is not a bad thing. I would definitely be coming back and try the spiciest they have, I want my stomach to ache lol. Fisherman's lunch is great for 1-2 people. Highly suggest getting it. read more

I ordered from this location yesterday and received the wrong order- I received head on (cheaper) instead of head off (more expensive). It was food for a World Cup viewing party and because head on is much less food, hence the lower price, it wasn't enough food since I ordered 3 pounds of shrimp plus crab. I tried calling multiple times yesterday and they didn't pick up. Today (the next day), I called multiple times again and he finally picked up. I asked for a refund to which he initially insisted on store credit and he claimed he was super busy and couldn't listen to what I had to say at around 4pm, neither lunch nor dinner time. Food was decent but service was poor and stubborn and therefore, I wouldn't recommend. read more

Boil ZADDY!! Came here for the first time with my husband and puppy. This place is outdoors only with seating areas in both shade and the sun - perfect if you have furry members. We ordered their fish and chips, and it was one of the finest I've had. The batter is thin, crispy and well seasoned, and the fish itself is juicy and perfectly sized. We also had their Seaman's Catch combo, shrimp, garlic noodles, and crawfish. The seasoning is delicious with ample amounts of chopped garlic and less salty than other places I've tried. The service was quick and the gentleman that took our order had great suggestions for us. The owner was kind and attentive, and she ensured we had the best experience. Went through the reviews and seems the lower ratings may have expected more than an old taco stand. Anyway, here's my take on this place... Been coming here on and off since they opened. Have to say, wasn't initially impressed, seemed expensive and wasn't crazy about the portion. Since then have figured out the menu, get a half pound peeled off shrimp with daddy sauce, potatoes, Corn and sausage, side of rice. Price isn't too bad when you think about Joe's crabs, or boiling shrimp, it is seafood after all. I don't use the outside self order computer, just say hi and someone comes up as soon as they aren't busy getting someone else's food, never had to wait too long. Overall I'm happy with this place, yea it was a taco stand, yea no indoor seating, yea, the round tables are on the small side, yea it can be pricy... Take your time, figure out the menu and I think you'll be satisfied if not happy and you don't have to spend a couple hundred for a shrimp boil... read more

Disgusting. Boiled eggs were not hard boiled, barely soft boiled. One was broken and oozing in the sauce. Sausage was barely cooked tasted like hotdogs. Corn was cooked well but potatoes were hard as a rock. Crab clusters were small but cooked ok. Shrimp was oily & gross for $14. The place was empty and I see why it was the worse seafood I've tasted & it made me feel sick. Two stars because the staff was friendly to my husband upon pickup. read more

The crawfish boil with cajun spicing was delicious and reasonably priced. Outdoor seating only but yesterday was a perfect sunny day so sitting outside was great. Outdoor seating was spotlessly clean. Staff brought white butcher paper and lots of napkins (eating cajun boil is always messy and best done with your fingers). This was a far better lunch than another burger or chicken sandwich from down the street and for the same price. Live a little and enjoy New Orleans style cuisine served in the typical "walk up window" style here in Orange. read more

Food was amazing! The crispy mahalo shrimp with a side of sausage was so delicious and crispy. Their daddy sauce was super garlicky and in my opinion better than boiling crab! Food was really really good. Solid 7/10. Juan the server/cook was phenomenal. A really nice guy. He will bring me back for sure. We tried a little bit of everything. Their spicy is not spicy to be honest. The layout is nice but it's all outside so dress warm. And right now it's super windy. But it was still worth it. Their pasta plate with shrimp and potatoe and sausage was really really good. It's a different spin on just plain garlic noodles. Their seafood was not overcooked or anything. I've ordered here twice before the first time it was good the quality was fresh but not the second time. The second time I got it was a smaller portion the potatoes weren't cooked thoroughly and the shrimp was bad it wasn't fresh and looked like it had been sitting and didn't taste well. For entrees we got the lean and mean plate with sea bass. It comes with salad and rice, we substituted the rice for black beans. We also got the skirt steak "bulgogi" which was served on top of mushrooms and bok choy with a sweet soy sauce. They accidentally brought out salmon instead of sea bass, but were very apologetic. They brought out a sea bass on the side and comped the entree to make up for it. Great service right there! The salmon and seabass were both delicious and cooked perfectly. The steak was tender and juicy, full of flavor. As a birthday gift they brought out a thai milk tea blondie sundae which was soooo good! Get it if you like sweets. I wish the owners all the best in their future endeavors, they created a great restaurant that many will miss. No espresso drinks, but it includes bottomless mimosas. Champaign with orange, pineapple, cranberry juice, or all three. Yes, all three please. Eggs are custom made orders by request. The brunch buffet had great options. It included, pancakes, waffles, French toast, crepes, pasta, potatoes, cod, chicken, meats, salads, pizza, fruit, yogurt, various breads, crème brûlée, and mini chocolates. My mimosa was perfect, since I poured my side juices in myself. The food all tasted great. My complaint is the eggs. I ordered two fried eggs. I had to remind her of the order because I believe the kitchen forgot my eggs. She made an excuse that they were busy. I don't think so, since I could see the three of them from my table. When I received them, they were hot and fresh, but the worst fried egg I've ever had. Ugly and runny. A fried egg should be the easiest thing to prepare. Disappointing. The entire time I was here, there were at most five parties. One was a large group celebrating a birthday. Not crowded on Sundays. No reservation required. I only had two separate plates of food and a plate of desserts. Unless you eat or drink a lot, the price of the buffet brunch is not worth it. In summary, service was good. My champagne glass was never empty. Excluding the eggs, all the food tasted great. I like the overall look of the restaurant. The Sunday buffet brunch is not my first choice.

Shortly after, our server, Layla, introduced herself. Despite the late hour, she was energetic, engaging, and had an infectious enthusiasm that elevated the entire dining experience. She expertly recommended several cocktails, along with a glass of wine, and her knowledge of both the bar program and the menu was impressive. Her recommendations for appetizers and entrées were spot on. We decided on the Wagyu Pigs in a Blanket, BBQ Nachos, and the Spicy Rigatoni. Every dish was beautifully prepared, flavorful, and exceeded our expectations. Another team member, Emanuel, delivered one of our dishes and was equally personable and engaging. He took the time to share information about the restaurant, further demonstrating the outstanding level of hospitality displayed by the entire team. Manager Dave also stopped by our table to check on our experience. We shared with him that this was, without question, one of the best dining experiences we've had in Orange County in quite some time. My family and I had such a great experience at this crab boil spot! From the moment we walked in, everything was smooth and welcoming. The food was absolutely amazing--seasoned perfectly and super fresh. What really made our visit extra special was the service. The woman that served us was incredibly sweet and attentive--she even took the time to put bibs on all four of our kids (which they loved!). It's the little touches like that that make a place stand out. The atmosphere was relaxed, and we didn't have to deal with any crowds, which made for an even more enjoyable meal. The prices are alittle high , but we enjoyed the flavor of the food. We had the fish & chips. The piece of fish was big , crispy and flavorful. The fries were good as well. We tried the clams with butter garlic, which had good flavor but the clams themselves were the size of a pencil erasure , so not really worth the $$ and we had the shrimp bowl with butter garlic and that was good as well. There is no ambiance since it is an old fast food building with outdoor seating only and the cashier/cook did not have much of a personality but she was nice enough and our food came out pretty quickly. We will be back to try other stuff. read more

This place won my heart on my first visit. The food was fresh and tasted amazing, the service was great, and the atmosphere was comfortable. The seafood, especially the shrimp and fish, was super tender and juicy. The garlic butter seasoning had just the right spice and flavor. The portions were big enough to fill me up, which was a bonus! The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the takeout was packed nicely. It's a great place to eat in or take home. The outdoor seating is perfect on a nice day, making it even better. If you want great seafood, I highly recommend "The Boil Daddy." I'll definitely be back soon! read more

I finally visited The Boil Daddy after my friend recommended it. It took me a while to find it because the sign wasn't very noticeable, but it was absolutely worth the effort. The French fries and fish and chips were incredibly delicious, and the French fries are honestly the best I've ever had. Compared to Kickin' Crab, the flavors here are much better, and the seafood is much fresher with a distinct ocean taste. There's also a wider variety of seafood, and the seasoning is much more flavorful and well-balanced. The menu is so diverse that I want to try everything! I'll definitely be coming back. read more
