This is a cozy, local sushi spot. The servers are nice and keep their distance so you can enjoy your meal in peace. They carry the usual rolls and dishes that you would expect any standard sushi spot to have. I would have loved a few specials to make their menu stand out. Their price point is fair and the quality is good. They are worth a try.

Not bad, Bloom. Not bad. I enjoyed the experience overall. I appreciate that they have blinds to keep out the sunlight. With the weather warming up, it's nice to be able to block out the sun/ heat. Service was good. The waitress was asking for our food order, and we barely had time to look lol It's a pretty big menu. I ordered one of the bento boxed lunches. I went with the salmon option. It was good and had a decent flavor. The rice was freshly made, and the salad fresh. I ordered avocado rolls and cucumber rolls. Both were good. I do think I enjoyed the avocado rolls better. I was happy with my bento boxed lunch meal. It was satisfying. My husband ordered an assortment of different sushi cuts and liked all of them lol He isn't picky though and loves most food.

Had prob one of them best tasting chicken teriyaki. Food was really good. My wife loved her Big Island Roll. She said everything tasted super fresh. We will definitely be coming back. Prices were good they had a lunch promo but one roll get one 50% off

My girlfriend and I came here for a quiet lunch during the week after working out. The service was exceptional. The food was above amazing. It was quiet and relaxing, and we felt so nurtured. We will be returning here many times.

Great salmon sushi I got. Solid pricing in what I got as a set. People are chill honestly. Service was served on time for me.

I grew up going to this sushi place before it became Sushi Boom. I now revisit even though I no longer live in Orange as of 14 years ago. I absolutely love this place and the cuisine has gotten so much better and there is variety in their rolls. My siblings, my significant other, and my friends always love coming with me when I go because the food and the prices are AMAZING. The servers are always kind and don't hover. The location closely mimics an authentic sushi place and the place is like Orange's hidden gem. The outside is cute but inside it is prettier! My order usually is the Veracruz roll or a Specialty Crunch roll, mixed Tempura, Squid or Octopus, and some sprites. I tend to mix it up sometimes but always ask for their mochi icecream before I leave. I'll always love coming here and I hope this business always thrives. I wouldn't be surprised if it went viral one day

They have definitely had another ownership change recently and it shows in the food quality, portions and service. The appearance and ambience of the restaurant are pretty much the same but everything else is much better now. Prices are what you would expect for good sushi in OC. Our favorites are the Green Supreme and the Japanese Burrito because they are no rice, but our girls love the Mexicana and Baked Lobster rolls. Their Salmon, Yellowtail and Tuna sashimi are always fresh and are served in generous portions.

Food is good here. Sushi isn't the best I've had. It left a very fishy smell on my fingers. Items are pretty pricey. There are no free refills (except for iced tea). I noticed one of the guys working the sushi bar was drinking out of a Sapporo bottle while working which was absurd. Our waitress was kind and helpful. It is a relaxed atmosphere with soft music and some tvs in the corners. As for payment, they DO NOT accept American Express. Overall, a nice family friendly/date night spot.

Excellent and fresh sushi, good staff, a decent amount of seating with plenty of lighting and decor, an overall good time - what more could you ask for!! Met up with a friend in a city I'm not as much familiar with and the yelp reviews definitely supported the choice! We ordered the salmon Lover roll and the six sushi (nigiri) chef combo with a spicy tuna roll and all was really yummy and came out relatively quick! Should I find myself in Orange again I will be back!

Stopped by for lunch with a friend on a Saturday. Ordered a bento box and it was ok. My friend had a sushi roll. I felt the food was good but pricey. Service was ok; not great but not bad either. Essentially, the experience and food left me lukewarm.

theres clearly a reason i havent been back in 5+ years. my food was very flavorless and basic. one of my rolls was supposed to have mango in it.. the mango was hard as a rock. it was supposed to have spicy crab.. not spicy. the rolls i got were just basic. very upset. i got tempura. it was just bland, not flavorful, not really tasty. A for effort. good luck

This place never misses! The fish is always super fresh, the kitchen is really clean, and the staffs are super nice. I've been here more than five times now, and it's consistently good every time. Definitely one of my favorite sushi spots!

The sushi is fresh, tasty and beautiful. Service is quick and accommodating. The ambiance is okay for a busy Chapman Ave location, some lite traffic noise. Overall a great local choice for sushi in Orange. Try the specials!

BUSINESS PERMANENTLY CLOSING 6/28/26…read more Came here with some gals for afternoon tea. It's a cute little restaurant in Old Towne Orange. It's decorated really cute inside and out! Everything was creatively planned and decorated. It was also very clean and spacious inside and out. When you go in, there's a tea sampling station with the menus so you can see which tea you would like to order. Our server was really sweet, but she was the only one serving all of the tables, so she would come by every 10-20 minutes to check on us and some things we asked for didn't make it to the table. If they had more servers, customers would be happy with quicker service. The food and tea were delish! There were 6 of us so we shared a bunch of different teas. I really enjoyed the teas they had. The sweet and savory treats were really yummy! I really enjoyed them. Each person got 5 little savory treats and 4 sweet treats. I kind of wish we got one or two more for $45, but either way they were delicious! We had a great time and were sad to learn that the business will be permanently closing down tomorrow (6/28/26), I would have loved to continue going back!

We got a variety of dishes to try out, and overall it was just ok. The soup was good but was a little light on ingredients, the papaya salad was decent with a little kick, noodles didn't really have much truffle taste but was ok, green beans were crunchy and probably the best dish here, and the mango sticky rice was not ripe. Most of the mango pieces were hard / not sweet and proportion to the rice was off. The staff was friendly and the space is very open and welcoming. Not sure if I'd come back though unless I was craving the Asian fusion tea service.

The decor is gorgeous and inviting - perfect if you're meeting friends or taking someone on a date. Cocktails are fire, order one. For their starters, I really like the bone marrow onigiri (2 for $20). This dish is constantly reincarnated so you never really know what you're gonna get. On my first visit, it included trout roe which is so decadently delicious paired with the marrow. The rice is proportionally small so each bite captures the decadence. The skewers are pricey, but if you order one, let it be the maitake mushrooms ($7). It's so meaty that you forget that it's not meat at all. Highly recommend. If you're sharing with a group or need some carbs, I recommend ordering the fried rice. I've had the prawn and pork versions and both are great. The fried rice is solid so any added protein is just a bonus. I've met some dishes I didn't love, but I really like that their menu is ever evolving. After my friend and I basically inhaled the entire thing, they brought out the crab roe pasta from their seasonal summer menu. The flavor was so creamy, crab-filled, and delicious!! Came to this spot for my wife's birthday dinner. I figured it should be pretty solid since it's owned by KEI (same company that owns Sup Noodle Bar). Overall, all the foods are pretty good, nothing stuck out as absolutely bad but I will say the pork tomahawk, seafood malfadine and mentaiko pizza were the most underwhelming, especially considering some of the hype behind some reviews. To be fair, I'm not a crazy seafood lover so take it with a grain of salt. My father in law loved the mentaiko pizza. The pork was cooked well and tender but the sweet potato puree just was not it for me. Good thing at least my kids liked it. Seafood malfadine was just honestly somewhat bland, especially when you have dishes like the spicy miso carbonara which was my favorite thing there by far. The burrata caprese appetizer was also a complete hit as everyone in my party loved it--my 5, 3, and 1 year old devoured it. Service is very attentive and they made sure to give a small chocolate birthday slice with candle as well to help us celebrate my wife so I appreciated that. There was this blueberry dessert we also ordered that was fire but I forgot to take a pic and don't remember the name Biggest con as to why it would not be a regular spot I would frequent is price-to-worth it ratio is not there for me. Our total for 6 adults, 2 toddlers, and 2 babies was over $500. Now granted we did order lemonade drinks and like 1 too many pastas (had gotten 3 seafood malfadine) but even if I conservatively subtract $100 that's still over $60/adult. So while the food is good, personally I would say it's not good enough at that price point. But nonetheless a good experience!

The people were nice and while I was surprised they didn't speak. Cantonese, the server spoke Mandarin and help us make decision on what items to order. We ended up getting the green beans, the filet mignon French style, a black bean fish fillet, and their house special fried rice. I thought the best item that we got was the fried rice. They put a decent amount of shrimp and barbecue pork and it tasted pretty good. The green beans was a tad bit on the sweeter side which I wasn't used to, but it had decent flavors. The filet mignon was a little bit on the smaller side and there wasn't a ton of pieces in there and it was the most expensive dish of the night. I probably will skip that next time. The fish fillet was actually pretty good. All in all, 3.5/5 stars is probably what I would give it. There are definitely better Chinese restaurants if you're willing to drive a little bit out.
