Came here with my friend on a whim because we were craving tonkotsu ramen. The place is beautifully decorated and right as we walked in we were greeted with a kind face and smile. We loved that they have a build your own ramen option! I got tonkotsu, with (firm) thin noodles and four included toppings - a steal for only $13.95 before tax. We also got spicy tuna crispy rice and sea salt edamame, both were equally delicious. Our server, Linda, was super attentive and accommodating! We had ramen here on a rainy day. Broth was delicious. You have to purchase add-ons to craft a decent ramen bowl. Sushi rolls weren't unique in any way but was good. Seating is extremely cramped. The ramen broth had more spice than depth of flavor and lived up to its garlicky moniker. The noodles were more on the soft side and the broccoli in my bowl was nicely cooked. There were chicken breast slices in the ramen which had a firm texture, a ramen egg cut neatly in half and a generous serving of chopped green onion. The California roll had plentiful filling and nicely cooked rice. It was rolled well. Service was polite and friendly. The interior has a relaxing feel and you can definitely see the Japanese influence in the restaurant design with clean cut lines and wood furniture. read more

Do not go to this place unless you want food poisoning and bad service. I got food poisoning from the California roll. Another person in my party got food poisoning from the black garlic. They tell people that they will give a discount from the check if we all leave five star reviews. This is bribery. I don't know how they've gotten away with this for so long. They also did not put any sweetener in another person in my party's Thai tea. Service was very slow. read more

We found this small ramen restaurant and started with some gyoza, both fried and pan grilled and both delicious! Next up was the Philly roll and pork fried rice. And I think my favorite was the Ramen. We built our own with Takatsu broth, thin noodles, chashu, green onions, mushrooms, egg and crunchy garlic. Came here for a late dinner. The place is clean and there is plenty of seating. The service was not the best. You have to flag down the staff if you need something but they also tend to hang out towards the back so they can't easily see you. It took a while to get water refills. We ordered edamame and hanano bun to start. For our entree, we got the build your own ramen. Edamame- Served hot and fresh. Just the right amount of seasoning. A pretty solid starter. Hanano Bun- The bun is soft and fluffy. Filled with juicy meat and crunchy vegetables. Everything is flavorful. Build Your Own Ramen- I appreciate the customizability! I got my ramen with chashu which isn't the best. The meat is a bit dry. They didn't give me enough broth and I would have liked a better ramen to noodle ratio. The tonkotsu broth is creamy though. I added corn, woodear mushroom, roasted garlic, and spinach which added extra textures and flavor. Decent experience but improvements can be made. read more

Service was so fast! As soon as we came in we were seated, it wasn't too busy either. The menu's were easy to read and the music was nice and not too loud. The server was so kind to us and we were helped immediately. Went here for dinner with family and was excited to try it as I love ramen. So the place looked very modern and had a nice appeal to the eyes. I certainly loved the decor of the place the tables were cool and decorations looks nice. They have a small menu and easy to navigate. We came in at like 9:30-9:40pm just in time before closing which was 10:30pm and the server who helped us was great helpful and seated us quickly. It is a self order place you scan a QR code and then order and pay or order and keep the tab open in case you wanted to order more. In my opinion it takes away from the experience because a servers job is not only to order and deliver food to the guests but you also want to build relationships with your patrons. It's not just the food that should or would keep people coming back but it's also the interpersonal relationships that you build with the people who walk in. A full experience is what is great about sit down restaurants. It was missing that but nonetheless the server was great! As for my ramen I did want to go down the build your own ramen path but i stopped mid way because it was getting expensive as I kept adding more ingredients haha so instead I went with the spicy ramen extra noodles on the side thin style. Two things I wanna say is that I loved the broth! It was packed with flavor in every sip and in combination with the ground pork and other ingredients really brought it home I enjoyed every bite and as soon as my noodles ran out I dumped my second batch in! The other thing is that I wish it came out piping hot! My brother came out lukewarm at best. Now I know maybe that's how they do it but with ramen I want that bowl to come out to me hot and the broth lava hot and that's how it should be served you want to have a nice hot soup and especially for ramen since it's served hot not cold or like warm unless you're doing a cold dish but it wasn't a cold dish I ordered. I visited Hanano last week for a quick lunch with some old coworkers, and it was pretty good! I had the red garlic ramen which was a good portion size. I will say the noodles were a little undercooked though, not a huge deal but I wish there was an option to indicate softness like some other locations. So we got a app, on the menu it says "fried chicken (6)" so I thought this would be actual pieces of chicken like maybe wings or something, but no it was this plate of mini pebbles, that didn't taste that good and the texture was weird. One bowl had pork belly, now usually when it's a cut of meat like that, they would maybe fried it but no it was more of a boil, and it was mostly fat. The broth was very tasty but I was most excited about the pork belly so that was a disappointment. We also got another bowl, and it was ground beef as the protein, and it didn't say ground beef. The only reason we could tell we were eating fish was because we looked at the menu. All of the rolls were super bland, especially compared to some great spots in OC. Service was also not great. One of the Worst Dining Experiences - Valentine's Day Ruined My wife and I visited Hanano Ramen on Valentine's Day, hoping for a nice dinner since we had a gift card from friends. Unfortunately, the experience was nothing short of awful. Despite plenty of open tables, we waited far too long just to be greeted and seated. Once we finally sat down, we were told to order through a QR code on the table--with zero explanation or assistance. We even had to ask for basic things like water. When we tried to use our gift card, the server (who said she was the shift lead) had no clue how to process it. She told us to go ahead and order anyway and that she would "try" to apply it at her kiosk. After finishing our order and meal, surprise--she couldn't get it to work and told us to contact Toast support ourselves. How is a guest supposed to contact a third-party support line for a gift card issued by the restaurant itself? Completely unacceptable. In the end, we paid with our credit card just to get out of there. To make things worse, the food itself was subpar--bland broth, overcooked noodles, and zero depth of flavor. For a place that calls itself a ramen restaurant, that's inexcusable. This place needs serious improvement in training, customer service, and food quality. We left frustrated, disappointed, and still holding a useless gift card. Absolutely would not recommend Hanano Ramen to anyone. read more

My friends wanted to eat at this ramen shop before our movie so I agreed on coming. Parking was really difficult to find and I ended up getting a spot behind the strip. I ordered the chicken ramen which arrived within 10 minutes of ordering. The soup was super bland. I was expecting at least some kind of chicken stock soup but it tasted like water. The chicken pieces were so overcooked I felt like I was biting into cardboard. The only saving grace of this was the noodles which even then weren't that chewy. I was just happy it wasn't mushy. Overall, the ramen was bad. This tasted like a westerner's poor attempt of copying ramen. I would not recommend my friends to eat here. For almost $16, I rather drive out farther and have actual ramen instead of whatever bootleg noodle soup this is. read more

Went here with my family and friends today, overall had a positive experience. Build your own ramen is a nice touch especially for picky eaters. Love that they had a vegan ramen, not every ramen place has a vegan broth. They make their takoyaki ultra crispy on the exterior, but the interior filling is under-seasoned and they are minimally dressed (no Japanese mayo, scallions, and minimal bonito flakes). To be truly honest, sorry to say it was way below my expectations. We ordered Build own ramen, we can choose 4 items per menu. I picked green onions, bean sprouts, bamboo shoots and seaweeds. Green onions were fine. Bean sprouts were overcooked, Bamboo shoots were not marinated with shoyu/mirin/sake/sugars, pure bamboo color from a can. Seaweeds were nori cut by small 4 pieces, I was expecting wakame seaweeds. Fried rice was not hot, tastes like microwave cooked. Crispy chicken (8 pcs) per menu, my expectation was Kagaage Japanese style, but it could obviously described as Popcorn chicken!! Not 8 pcs, popcorn sized small pieces of fried chicken. I asked the server that the menu says 8 pcs? She said "Yeah, it was changed". So you don't inform the change when she took our order??? She also said"Is that ok?" Hey we haven't tried even ONE PIECE of chicken. This restaurant seems like serve foods not followed by the menu description without advance explanation.
