    Salmon lovers
    Owen A.

I come to this location more often than the Anaheim one just because of the Salmon Lovers combo--totally worth it! All of these meals have been $18 or less, and I hope this location keeps it that way. My favorite part has definitely been the California roll and tempura, they're always so good and so filling. I think I like the salmon teriyaki the best since the salmon skin is also usually crispy. The servers are always good at letting me know when an item is almost done, and sometimes they'll offer a water cup while I wait as well. The restaurant is small, but the seats are always filled, which just goes to show their popularity. I will keep coming here for the deals and for the food!

Looks a little dicey from the outside and not a great ambience but for take-out, job good enough. The star of the meal was the Tokyo Roll - nice sized, fresh cut fish, tasty imitation crab and thick cuts of cucumber to round our the roll Mixed tempura bowl - the veggies were lightly battered and crisp Unagi nigiri was fresh but not cooked like it is at other restaurants Scallops nigiri has mayo sauce but no masago or heat Hopefully they can take their nigiri next level in the future.

Sushi was not fresh. Fish looked a little too yellow/brown, tasted fishy and was warm. Love the Anaheim location but was in the area and visited this location but was disappointed. Would not return.

Sushi, sushi and more sushi! I love sushi and it is one of my go-to dining out options. This time, I needed a take-away order as we were on route to an event. As a first time patron to this establishment, and not familiar with restaurants in the area, they nailed it. My order was ready early, it was accurate and upon looking inside each container, I was pleasantly surprised with the size of each roll. The quality equally matched and we truly enjoyed out meal. The restaurant is cute and on the smaller side. It was about half full for an early Friday evening when I picked up my order. I would definitely return and would prefer to dine in as I realized they had an even bigger menu than what I saw and ordered from online.

Looking for a no frills hole in the wall sushi place that hits the spot, look no further. Have been coming here for years and they never disappoint. Today, I got a pick-up order for the Fire Cracker roll, which was definitely as expected, spicy and hearty. There's parking right next to the place, so it's convenient, especially for pick-ups. I ordered online, and they prepared it quickly. Overall, a great Monday dinner.

I had an early lunch around 11am and grabbed a Ramen and Roll combo. The service was really good - the waitress was super attentive and polite! The spicy tuna roll was delicious, but the ramen was just okay. It had instant noodles and grilled chicken in it.

Wow! I am so beyond disappointed. They just filled my roll with imitation crab. They are usually good but today was horrible. The tiny bit of avocado and cream cheese. All I taste is the imitation crab.

This local hole in the wall vibe doesn't not match how amazing the sushi is. If you love sushi, do yourself a favor and put this place in your 'must try this place' list. The portion size and rice:sushi is perfect. Pictures don't do it justice- these rolls are massive and absolutely delicious. We ordered the Caribbean, Jim Doti, and OC roll and they were all fantastic. The Caribbean has eel sauce and spicy mayo drizzled on one side and sweet thai chili on the other, which is great for folks that don't like lots of sauce. The salmon on the top was cut thick and the amount of icrab wasn't overwhelming. The Jim Doti was packed with spicy tuna and the cilantro added the perfect balance of fresh flavors. The jalapeño slices were a little on the thick side, but we love spicy and the crunch added nice dimension. The OC roll has super thinly sliced lemon on top, which paired really well with the salmon and adds a pop of brightness that brings the whole roll together. The eel sauce and spicy mayo are drizzled on the side, which is great for sauce enthusiasts and minimalists. This is definitely going to the sushi spot for me in Orange. 10/10 would recommend and will absolutely go back.

Once the whole party was seated & our order was taken, we received our delicious ginger salad and miso soup quickly. When our chef arrived he was ready to put on a show! He was so fun, engaging and very genuine. All of the food was amazing. I got the filet mignon steak w/ fried rice and my husband gets the sumo steak. The filet mignon is definitely worth it but if you prefer more meat, the sumo steak is the way to go. The drinks are affordable and compared to other teppanyaki places, the food is affordable and absolutely worth it. They also offer a happy hour in the dining room only - does not include the teppanyaki grill area. Truly one of our favorite places!!

3.5/5 Stars - Nice Experience, But Some Service and Timing Issues…read more We visited Tabi-Ji Teppanyaki for my husband's birthday and had an overall decent experience, though there were a few things that would make us think twice before returning. We chose the dining room seating rather than the teppanyaki tables. The staff did offer us the teppanyaki experience, but since we don't eat red meat or chicken from certain places and weren't sure how the food preparation process worked with mixed ingredients, we opted for a regular table instead. One downside was the seating arrangement. We were seated away from most of the other guests, and it often felt like the staff forgot we were there. Our original host/server was attentive and friendly, but once they were busy with other tasks, it became difficult to get assistance. It was also not busy for a Tuesday evening. We found ourselves waiting for long periods or having to wave someone down, which wasn't ideal, especially for a birthday dinner. As for the food: * Crunchy Spicy Tuna Roll (4/5): Fresh, good quality fish, and a generous portion. A solid sushi roll. * Garlic Edamame (4/5): Flavorful and exactly what you'd expect from a good appetizer. * Lobster Duo with Miso Soup, Salad, and Fried Rice (3/5): Unfortunately, the lobster was quite chewy and seemed overcooked. The miso soup and fried rice were both enjoyable and helped make up for it. * Unagi Donburi (4/5): My husband's meal came with white rice, miso soup, salad, and fried rice. It was his first time trying eel, and he really enjoyed the soft texture and flavor. He said he'd definitely order it again. Our biggest disappointment was the timing of the food. The Unagi Donburi arrived significantly later than everything else. By the time it came out, we had already eaten most of the appetizers and other dishes and were pretty full. It's unfortunate because it seemed like a dish that would have been much better enjoyed fresh, but we ended up taking most of it home. Overall, the food ranged from good to very good, and being able to reserve through Resy and use our Amex dining benefit definitely helped offset the cost. However, considering the price point, we expected more attentive service and better pacing of the meal.

The food still tastes just as good as before. They've changed the menu slightly but my go-to rolls are still there. The waitress was very helpful in introducing us to the new ordering system, and we worked out the kinks pretty quickly. We came in at around 2pm on a Friday, so ordering was quick and the food came out just as fast. I saw some people coming in wanting to order a la carte, but the waitress said they weren't able to do that at the moment. I know this might be a rough transition to a new system so I hope people will give them a chance to figure it out. Overall, the food is still great and I'm happy I can try some of their sides I've been wanting to try, but now it comes with all the rolls that I can double and triple order! I'm sure their new ordering system will be streamlined over time and I hope their AYCE transition will be a successful one.

We decided to try a new AYCE sushi spot instead of heading to one of our usuals on Friday evening…read more We saw that Tori Tori had a new AYCE menu and the pictures looked great. We were immediately greeted upon arrival, and were explained the menu. They are currently on a new, all you can eat only, menu with a fixed price. The hostess explained the ordering process very deeply. If anything, it was almost a little overwhelming, but they were helpful. There are certain menu items (premium items and hotpot) that you need to order through your waiter while you order the rest on the app. At first, it was a little difficult, and we also had some errors in our online ordering table, but we got it mostly sorted out. The menu has a fairly good selection of nigiri and rolls. There is a solid selection of appetizers as well. The menu offers the premium sashimi with a limit of 3 pcs per person. At the time, they also had hotpot dishes included in the menu. As far as AYCE sushi goes, the quality of the fish at Tori Tori was almost all fantastic. The yellowtail and salmon were some of the best I've had at an all you can eat restaurant. The tuna was ok, a little chewy, except for the bluefin sashimi which was great. As for the fried foods, if that's something you like to order at AYCE sushi, I'd keep it limited. It's all fresh and fairly well executed, but it felt like their oil might have been a little bit old or they were frying on too low of a temperature. All of our fried food were quite dark, oily, and had a bit of a fryer oil flavor. That being said, it was all still enjoyable. We only got one roll, which was a dynamite scallop type roll. The roll was ok, felt like it had a bit too much crab which tends to be a common thread at AYCE places. Our one gripe with it was that they seemed to toast/torch the whole roll rather than just the top if that makes sense. It was kind of hot throughout which made for a weird eating experience. But also the rolls are all mostly 4 pieces which is great for being able to try them without filling up. The hotpot was a surprising thing to have on the menu, but at the end of the meal we decided to split one. It was actually quite good. It was nice to have a warm and fresh cooked dish to round off the meal of raw fish and fried apps. I think Tori Tori is definitely a great option for AYCE sushi in Orange. Clearly they are still in the beginnings of implementing this menu and there are a few things that need to be sorted out/streamlined. I don't think the ordering system, especially with how much explanation it requires, is sustainable. Even the menu looked like it needed some refinement. Some things were missing pictures and didn't match the paper menu. They also didn't offer miso soup in any capacity which felt weird for a sushi restaurant (and I know they had it on the menu before implementing the AYCE). Besides any small road bumps, I think the flavor trumps all of that. I'll definitely be back sometime for AYCE sushi in the future.

I made reservations so we could get the premium set. It was our first time, so not sure what to expect. The reservation for seating wasn't needed as the tables were mostly empty but the reservation was needed to make sure the omakase was available. There was no sushi bar seating, so the omakase came out all at once instead of a piece by piece experience. That's fine. Oddly though, the waiter did not explain which fish each piece was, but the sushi chef James told us at the end of the meal that the waiter was new and Chef James then explained the fish himself. Weird backwards experience but every one was kind and well-meaning. The quality of the fish in the nigiri was exceptional. Some of the best I've had in the area considering how close it is located to competitors like Ooshima and Kaigen etc. The fish all came dressed, which was to be expected. It was all pretty delicious except it was all just a little bit sweet for my taste.. I prefer more savory, salty, or lemony. That being said, the quality made up for the preference in taste which could easily be remedied with some soy sauce, ponzu, lemon, etc. The bite of Wagyu nigiri was genuinely the best wagyu I've ever had. We also tried the mussels and agedashi tofu for hot appetizers. Would 100% recommend either dish. Overall, happy with the experience as wifey was a happy birthday girl. We did not have room to try any regular rolls so I cannot comment on that. The one negative thing I will say is to absolutely skip the handrolls - any of them. The machine compacted rice made a roll that should be delicate feel mishandled and ruined the texture/experience of that roll. That being said, will definitely be coming back again for some more of the best quality nigiri in the area.
