She is a regular here as the staff all recognized and greeted her. She said she comes in here regularly with her family. I wasn't in the mood for sushi so I ordered my go to Bento box with salmon teriyaki and tuna roll. Everything was pretty good and I finished everything in the box. It comes with your standard rice and salad and miso soup. No extra frills or anything like that, but that's okay and not necessary. Service was friendly and it was pretty busy during lunch. Went there for a little break. The restaurant was a little empty but the servers were really nice. I ordered the scalloped sushi and a tempura udon. The tempura udon broth was very cozy with light dashi/mushroom flavor coming through. The noodles were nice and chewy which was good contrast with the crispiness tempura. My wife and I went tonight. We have been here before but never left a review. It's time. We walked in. No wait. Table was available. There were other patrons there also. Waitress came up and asked for our drinks. Very quick. We were able to order within 5 minutes. We ordered a spider roll. A shrimp tempura roll. And a spicy tuna roll. Also got gyoza. Edemame. Quite disappointed. I think the chef has changed or something because the CA roll does not taste as good as it used to。 Also, last night I ordered a combo and I specifically asked for no teriyaki sauce because I'm allergic. I confirmed this again at the end of placing the order on the phone. When I opened it at home, my chicken teriyaki and rice was drenched in teriyaki sauce. I had to throw this out because it would make me sick. We didn't have to ask for anything. We ordered 2 rolls and an order of tempura vegetables. It was all delicious and fresh. The food came quickly, which was good since my hubby was on his lunchbreak. The tempura veggies and warm dipping sauce were so good. They were Crunchy on the outside and soft and warm on the inside, yum. We had broccoli, sweet potato, butternut squash and green beans. The rolls we picked were so good and beautiful!! We had the Mr. Castro roll and French Kiss. They were equally good. We really couldn't pick our favorite. They were also so large. We took some home to my daughter who's favorite food is sushi. She got 2 pieces of tempura and 5 pieces of sushi and she was a very happy girl!! The prices here are very fair and it was well worth what we paid. The place isn't fancy at all, but very clean and so comfy. A typical Chinese-run sushi restaurant. If you are looking for more affordable sushi options, and you also don't care for the authenticity or the quality of fish/rice, go here! Because anyone who knows anything about authentic Japanese cuisine will tell you that the food from here is not remotely close to being Japanese, or sushi. Aside from the salmon teriyaki, we opted for the - California roll (8 pieces), Tuna roll (5 pieces), Mixed sushi (3 pieces) All of the above were falling apart as we were picking it up, and completely fell apart by the time it made it to the soy sauce plate... the rolls weren't even wrapped in full, the fish quality is subpar, and the way they prepared it, was just wrong...I think I would have been better off making my own sushi rolls at home. I lost the appetite to finish the box before half way thru it, because everything was just not good. Though the staff was nice to us. But if you are just looking to fix your sushi craving, economically (like I did), grab yourself one from Tokyo Central!
