(Late post, this review is for 12/31/25) Heemo is now my place to go for Japanese food. Conveniently located at the corner of Katella & Tustin which has plenty of parking. Food is delicious & price is reasonable. Service was quick & attentive. My daughter wants to come here for her birthday (her favorite place). We ordered Double Baked Salmon ($16), Caliente ($18). Caliente is my daughter's absolute favorite. She will order this plate every single time we go. Sunkist ($16) Double Albacore ($16) Popcorn crawfish ($8). All were excellent except Popcorn Crawfish (mostly just the fried batters) After we finished our food, the birthday celebration begins. Light was dimmed, up beats birthday song on the speaker. The waitresses came to our table to give the bday girl a build in lighted paper flower crown to wear on her head while clapping & singing a birthday song. They also brought a plate of Green Tea flavor fried mochi ice cream with candle. The Mochi ice cream was so so good & it's free. It was so special. What a nice surprise! Great AYCE place with lots of options. Pretty popular spot do there was a bit of a wait. It can accommodate a large group (8+) but again, plan ahead. Service was quick and friendly. We didn't have any problems with finding parking. read more

This used to be our go to, we used to love this place, now the service is mediocre and the food makes us sick. Server: Name started with a J but other than that she mostly hid in the back. Ordered two sodas but had to ask another server due to her forgetting to bring it. She also did not bring out food, or offer a check. Overall do not understand how she is still employed here. Ambiance: The menus are new and very clear and visibility appealing. Food: Fish is old and had a bad smell. When telling the server she simply said "Sorry" but did nothing to attempt to resolve the problem. Overall: Food looks pretty but appearances are highly deceiving. read more

This is the most unassuming hidden gem! Needed some late night food (around 9) so a friend took me to Heemo for the first time - they were open until 11 which I love as a late eater. Wait time was only 15 minutes and everyone was so friendly. Quick service with drinks and food - and a huge variety to order from. We got the DHK, Tustin, Ninja, and So Hot and each of them were seriously melt in your mouth good. The Tustin was surprisingly fresh and light. The salmon was spectacular! I can not wait to come back. More than the rolls are HUGE. Like a whole mouth full per bite, so I'll definitely order a little less next time. read more

There is something about Heemo Sushi that I really like. I think it has to do with the fact that I enjoy every dish they have to offer. Some places have great sashimi, while other places have great rolls. Heemo has both. But that is not all. Their small plates are so delicious as well! We came for dinner last night as a party of 3. We ordered their sashimi platter, couple rolls, and small plates. Hubbie wanted their ramen as well. As the dishes came out, I started thinking we ordered too much. But by the end, we finished almost everything LOL. That's how much we enjoyed their dinner. Their sashimis are great, very generous in size and tastes buttery. I don't normally enjoy rolls, but their rolls were very good. Their fried dishes are SO good. Tonkatsu was a favorite by us all. Highly recommend their salmon collar as well. Service was spectacular. This has to be one of my favorite places in Orange County for sushi! I went recently with a good friend of mine who loves going there. I ordered a mango and salmon roll that was sooo good. The rolls are THICK. They're not greedy with their ingredients. I was satisfied with one roll, haha. But it tasted so good. I had a bowl of miso which was good, nothing crazy but it's miso. The place itself has easy parking, lots of seating and the waiters were kind as well as attentive. I went around 4pm and it was very chill, we got seated right away. I spent $90 on my order and there was no wasabi after I requested extra. because this happened three times today I decided to call them. just said oh well we are busy. Oh well I just blew $90 on food that I can't really eat or enjoy without wasabi so I won't be ordering here anymore and great experiences with Delivery and stellar food but since it's happened three times and the lady was care I guess there's nothing they can do but I can't eat my food without it. I have to drive down there. Eating in the restaurant would be a different story obviously because the food is very good. Awesome poke ! Fresh vegetables and quality poke cubes , which took me away to the island right ahead. Wish I could have the dressing sauce recipe : the spiciness was hitting the right spot ! I was really impressed with the combination of flavors in a lot of these rolls, specifically the Texas roll which had the salsa on top. I'm not one for Cajun styled sushi and even though this is a little different than that I really enjoyed the mix of the fresh fish and roll with the sweet Asian fusion salsa. The spicy garlic edamame is actually spicy so be cautious for those sensitive! The employees were attentive and gave great service to my party, we were all very impressed for most of us being our first time here. This place hands down is the best sushi I've had ever. For the quality and amount the price is unbeatable. The servers seem to be pretty attentive. Sometimes you get a little overwhelming and busy. It's always slammed there at night. They do have some fun stuff offered for birthdays. Just wait until you see. I have visited this place at least three times and each time it has been a wonderful experience. First of all, they have the best lunch specials. For $18 I received miso soup, salad, a good size salmon and avocado roll, and four pieces of various sushi. Delicious! And I want to give a big shout out to our servers, John and Taika. Taika has waited on us several times. Both her and John are very attentive and friendly. Unfortunately, I can't say that about a lot of sushi, restaurants, so I am glad to tell you this is the place for great service and great food! My only complaint is that the music is way too LOUD. I was not expecting a late night spicy tuna roll to be spectacular BUT HOLY SHIT WAS I WRONG. Lots of sushi chefs working and it wasn't even that busy. So i'm guessing that means they are on top of every single detail. Aromas were so so fresh when I opened the box. This roll was so stuffed with creamy spicy melt in your mouth tuna and the rice was still so fresh at 9:30 pm. The way the heat creeps up you, had me sweatin and sniffling, but it does not overpower the fresh tuna/rice. And they loaded me with ginger. Normally restaurants are stingy with condiments but they gave me SO much extra. I love it because it cuts the spice after the wasabi hits lol. SUCH FRESH FLAVORS FROM A SIMPLE ROLL.
