So i'm guessing that means they are on top of every single detail. Aromas were so so fresh when I opened the box. This roll was so stuffed with creamy spicy melt in your mouth tuna and the rice was still so fresh at 9:30 pm. The way the heat creeps up you, had me sweatin and sniffling, but it does not overpower the fresh tuna/rice. And they loaded me with ginger. Normally restaurants are stingy with condiments but they gave me SO much extra. I love it because it cuts the spice after the wasabi hits lol. SUCH FRESH FLAVORS FROM A SIMPLE ROLL. I wanna order more already. Also there are little polaroids up everywhere as decoration. Which honestly makes me feel so at home. Good vibes. Great food. Been to Heemo multiple times and it's always a funny story every visit. The food is very filling and delicious no matter what you choose; I was disheartened to learn they changed some things with the crispy rice and spicy tuna, but overall my meals have been pretty worth it. I'm especially attached to the Hawaiian Roll, Rainbow Roll, and Tiger Rolls. Their salmon, albacore, and tuna tasted relatively fresh, but the main star is their sauces and proportion sizes. Service is relatively fast! I've always lucked out with great servers even on busiest days. Would recommend going at night on a weekday since it's ironically less busy. Yesterday was our first time at Heemo sushi. Two of us had sushi and the other two had bento boxes. The bento boxes were huge and had large portions. Their sushi rolls were also so huge and we ended up taking some home. The quality was very good and we're surprised we haven't found this place sooner. This is the best sushi I've had in SoCal. The cuts on the fish are uniquely good by talented chefs. The staff is great. But the manager is terrible and is the only downside of this place. You can basically ignore him as he will ignore you but his pacing the restaurant looking unhappy all the time is the only negative. I always try to give places the highest rating possible, but I really can't give this place more than 3 stars. I go here sometimes just because it is the closest sushi spot to my house, and the fish quality is passable but it's just kind of expensive. They discontinued their AYCE which is unfortunate. I got 28 slices of sashimi (3 orders of 8 piece and 1 order of 4 piece) and 1 sushi roll which were all good, but I did not think it'd be $100. The service was also just okay. The wait was longer than expected which was unusual since most of my takeout order was just slices of raw fish... Overall I don't want to negatively impact the business and I wouldn't even advise anyone from going here. If you're nearby and want some quick sushi, go for it. Our friends decided to have a FriendMas event with catering board theme. We decided to go for the Sushi board since everything else our friends were bringing seems a tad boring. Let me tell you the sushi board was such a huge hit! We reached out to Heemo Sushi and a sweet rep name Cakie or something "sorry", she helped us out with our sushi board. She was very knowledgeable and very informative. My wife and I were so impressed with the sushi Chef and service here that we knew we had to give this place a great rating with our wonderful experience. A good friend was craving sushi so I accompanied her even though I don't do the whole sushi/sashimi thing. Luckily this place has a number of delicious alternatives for us non-sushi folks to enjoy. The food is prepared and delivered quickly. My friend thoroughly enjoyed her rolls as well as a complimentary salmon dish the chefs sent out. I ordered a few "small dishes" - chicken teriyaki, spicy garlic edamame, and gyoza. The tender slices of teriyaki chicken were excellent as were the few sliced veggies that accompanied the large quantity of chicken. The edamame had a garlic coated exterior with some heat which was at the maximum level of spice tolerance for this spice wimp. My lips felt the heat as I squished out the beans from the pod. We both really enjoyed this dish. The deep fried gyoza - a six count - were crunchy on the outside with a tasty dipping sauce provided. The food and atmosphere were appealing to me. So if you are not a sushi eater and find yourself here, don't fret, there are plenty of choices for you too. read more

The service was decent but not very attentive. We asked three times for extra ginger before it was brought out. We were using all parts of our first napkins before they brought out more. It was not busy when we were there on a Monday around 12:30pm. They did bring out a festive, complimentary green tea mochi dessert which cleaned our palate. I've been here twice per recommendation from my sister who frequents here, once for dine in and the other I took my order to go. Service is great! Sushi chefs greet upon arrival and departure every time. The sushi is so fresh and their rolls are big! Not overloaded with rice, and the sushi is fresh. Our favorite rolls are the Philadelphia roll, crispy rice with spicy tuna instead of spicy albacore, and the Sunrise roll was very flavorful and refreshing and the presentation was beautiful. I didn't expect sauce or onions on the Sunrise roll since it wasn't pictured that way on the menu, nor do I favor neither onions nor sauce, but after giving it a try it was delicious. Past reviews say this place used to be AYCE, I think their menu has so many great options it would be awesome to bring that option back while still offering à la cart since their prices are so reasonable.
