Solid 3.5. Stopped by with my MIL to grab something for her to eat. I NEVER give a place a lower ranking. I just don't post. It's someone's lively hood. I'm negating one star for the miso soup. It's instant packaged soup. How do I know? Because I use it when I'm tired. Perfectly cut cubes of tofu. I dunno. Maybe they make miso soup in winter months? Who else orders miso soup in June? In 80* weather? Someone needing a small something not a meal... HOWEVER, my MIL ordered Kalbi shortribs. Two (2) shortribs, rice, salad, steamed veggie. For $14!! That is a bargain if I ever saw one. Plus it was GOOD! We had to kill time between Dr appts so we hung out for almost 1-1/2 hrs. Steady flow of diners sitting & lots of to-go orders. With the location in a semi-corporate industrial area they must be doing well. Decent price for good quality meals. Pleasant staff keeping the place very clean. I'm only knocking the instant miso soup. Yelp algorithm shouldn't be affected. read more

Just had lunch here today, and honestly, it was just okay. The biggest issue for me was the chicken. The taste and texture reminded me of chicken that had been grilled and then reheated days later...it had that hard, dry outer crust and wasn't very enjoyable. read more

Came to Genki Grill for lunch as I wanted a spot that was fairly healthy and not too expensive. Although the menu looks a bit confusing, it's pretty straightforward. Choose your type of protein (chicken, beef, spicy pork, or tofu), choose the size (mini bowl, bowl, two item bowl, or plate, and figure out if you want extra meat or white meat. There is also a separate short rib plate if you desire that. Since I was trying to stay healthy, I opted for a beef and chicken plate and subbed out the rice for vegetables. Quality food here as everything is prepared on order. Considering how expensive everything is these days, the price isn't bad either. Staff here are very friendly, no complaints from me. I wouldn't necessarily go out of my way to come here, but if I'm in the area it's not a bad option. read more

Service was great. Very attentive to customers who walk in. The communication between the cashier and the cooks worked well in getting my order out to me quicker. And the place looked well put together, clean and direct. There isn't anything about this place that screams at you and wows you. This place is an order, stay if you want or take it to go vibe. My food is the reason I gave it 3 stars. Although it tasted great, I felt like there was more rice than there was chicken in my mini bowl. Meeting me in the middle would've been better. Chicken was cooked thoroughly. Rice tasted fresh. For me it was just the portion size. I was left hungrier than I was when I came in to order. Maybe that's just what it is about the mini. The small business touch to this common item in California is done so well with delicious sauce and really well prepared spicy pork and chicken that hits the mark. My go to spot for lunch! I've tried California teriyaki up the street, which is good as well but not nearly as good as this place! Can't beat $9 loaded chicken bowl! Not only is the food great but the service provided is right up there as well. The only downside is they close at 4pm but I always call ahead to place my order and is ready by the time I'm there. My decision to come to this establishment was based on customer reviews. I ordered a half and half beef and chicken veggie bowl to go. When I opened the bowl, I noticed the beef and the chicken were minced into really small pieces; I am thinking to make it appear that they are serving you a good portion of protein, but this was no the case.
