My husband, 14 month old son, and I took a day trip to OC from Pasadena to chill at South Coast plaza and Round 1 in Santa Ana. We wanted to hit up some food before heading home and kind of stumbled upon KT Pho. It's kind of unassuming, small mom and pop shop, which I know sometimes tends to have the most bomb food. We ordered the pho special and a grilled pork banh mi. It was so delicious! Their broth is slightly sweeter than your usual pho place and they add nice dose of pepper on top which I personally really like. The banh mi was crispy and delicious. Just as importantly, the owner Annie was so incredibly nice and accommodating to my little boy as well. She gave him extra pho noodles and broth in a bowl, scissors to cut the noodles, and just kept interacting with him while we ate and fed him. The hospitality was unparalleled and we were grateful. If we are ever in the area again, I would definitely eat here again. It was surprisingly empty for a Saturday evening. I hope more people come support smaller businesses like this. read more

It has the sauces and stuff that you'd find at your local Vietnamese restaurant. This place has a menu outside that said no MSG in their food. Well, just to let you know, MSG is literally in everything you eat. MSG is in your Doritos, your tomatoes, your mushrooms, the cheese you eat for breakfast or lunch, or that veggie pizza you got from your local pizzeria. I walked here and got both the Mango and peach smoothies. This place has grass jelly milk tea, but it's so popular that when I tried to order it, the lady told me that they're out of grass jelly. Came into KT Pho for the first time on Christmas Eve as they were one of the only places that was open at the time, which we did appreciate. When we arrived, the space was small but the vibe was nice, and a big family was seated eating in the front, which seemed to be the family of the owners of the restaurant. They gestured for one of the kids to sit us down. We both ordered pho and got an order of egg rolls. The egg rolls were fresh, but were on the smaller side and didn't come with the fish sauce we are used to at Vietnamese spots. The pho was on the bland/lighter side, but was generous with meat and general portions, especially for the price. The service was somewhat spotty, but I'm sure it had something to do with it being Christmas Eve. If we do come back, I'm sure we'd have a different experience. read more

Some of the best Pho broth around! The rib bones are the way to go. I appreciate that they have all the traditional toppings, plus chili OIL. My favorite! We went during Happy Hour which is everyday from 3PM-7PM and you get a free iced Thai Tea, which wasn't bad. My brother got a grilled pork banh mi which was nice to dip in our Pho. Sandwich was alright. It was a little sour, as if they used a yuzu mayo spread, but we appreciated the slightly toasted bread which was perfectly crunchy on the outside and soft and pillowy on the inside. Horrible service if i can give it 0 stars i would. I arrived with my husband and they ignored us for 15 minutes i let the lady know i was ready to order she said ok and sat down to eat instead of taking my order. Their behavior towards me and my husband was absurd. They didn't try taking my order until I was got up to leave because i wasn't getting any type of service. I came here because it was recommended to me. But if your hispanic with tattoos don't come here they don't like to serve us. We were the only ones there for about 20 minutes after ordering 2 banh mi, spring rolls, and 2 house special Pho bone rib to go around 11:30am. The cook said that they only cook when we order, which is great! I just think one person in the kitchen during lunch hour is not wise. Thankfully, we had some time buffer, but this place probably caters to service workers besides the surrounding residents. They offer a free eggroll with every pho order. Thankfully, I had some nuoc mam (fish sauce) at home so she could dip or else it would've been pretty bland. The house special pho had great broth flavor for being outside of the the Little Saigon epicenter. We were able to feed 3 adults with 2 portions. Easy on the onions, please! I felt like they put in one whole onion for just 2 portions. I had to scoop many many out lest I get kicked out of my bed tonight for it coming out of my pores! The springs rolls were average but affordable. I didn't realize that the banh mi automatically came with mayo, so be aware when ordering! Euro butter spread would've won me over! The baguettes did have a nice crunch and the meat was flavorful. For $5.99, it makes for an affordable lunch. We ordered the chicken and pork banh mi. We found this place on a whim, and it did not disappoint. The food was amazing and the best part is the price is fair. My mom and I got two pho soups, two sandwhiches, two appetizers that came out to $54. Other pho shops would have charged us $65 for all, and they gave us free refills on thai tea. I tried the house special for $15 - if you were to get the same pho in Garden Grove or Westminster you'd be paying $20 for this amount of quality or meat. The kind owner came and talked to us... she said she's opened this business for two years. Their pho is freshly made everyday with no MSG. One of the best pho places I had in a very long time. I wouldn't eat here if you want a classy ambience. This is strictly about the food! I will say that the free egg roll that comes with the lunch order is not great, but also highly unnecessary. Again, the broth shines, and I appreciate the cracked pepper in every bowl, which is not normal in pho places.
