Came with my wife and daughter for dinner, as my daughter's preschool is near by and I have been curious. Parking lot is on the smaller side, I had a little difficulty finding a spot. The restaurant wasn't full of customers yet, but about half filled with a few tables pushed together with a reservation sign. The interior is small, but open, clean and welcoming. The staff were working with a sense urgency, yet with friendliness and efficiency. They brought us water fairly quickly and took our orders a little later. Food came out timely, not too fast, not too slow. As it should when they properly cook the food to order (finish cooking?). The Xiao Long Bao was good. Not as "soupy" as I prefer, but the flavor was great. The skin was springy. The pan-fried vegetable dumplings were good. I'm not usually a fan of "pure" vegetable dumplings because there's usually too much mushrooms. This was a great filling ratio, would order again. My wife ordered the Mapo Tofu, she appreciated that it was vegetarian, since she cannot eat pork. She praised that it was flavorful and not overpowered with pure pickiness We'll likely come back.

I was expecting another dumpling house with the same flavors but this restaurant serves up more. Their flavor fusions are fun and exciting. Not just the same old dishes. Yet they do provide traditional dishes with flavors you recognize as well. For me tho it was the fun and different flavors they offer. The restaurant is well maintained and clean. Plenty of parking. The service was very friendly and they are happy to explain anything on the menu and recommend items to your taste. I will be back!

I first visited Yum Dumpling last week, and it was so good that I've already been back for a second visit! The dumplings here are absolutely incredible super juicy, flavorful, and honestly even better than some of the more well-known dumpling spots. Every bite was packed with flavor, and you can really tell they're made fresh. The portions are also very generous, so you definitely get amazing value for the price. We also tried some shrimp dishes, and I was seriously impressed. The shrimp were HUGE, super fresh, and perfectly crispy. The walnut shrimp was especially delicious -- easily one of my favorites. What I really love about this place is that it's a family-owned restaurant with a wide variety of dishes. From different kinds of dumplings to noodles and more, there's so much to try and everything we had was satisfying. The staff were friendly and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. If you live nearby, this is a must-try spot !!! I highly recommend it. I already know I'll be coming back here often!

**Honestly it's 4.5 but I rarely give 5 stars for restaurants so 4 stars is pretty high** This review is for a delivery order & it was our first time. It's probably the most legit place in this part of the city. Tastes like what u will find in Rowland heights/irvine. Soup is flavorful and the noodle texture is good even when it's a delivery order, also absorbed the flavor from the soup as intended. The tendon was braised well. The beef and broccoli was what you would expect, good flavor and the beef quality was decent. Will return to try other dishes.

Nice family owned spot, we were looking for a pace with noodles and dumplings and this was perfect and not too far away. They seem to be newly opened and are in a nice cozy interior and I quite liked the ordering system using a dry erase marker on a laminated menu to mark what you want. Service was great and we were greeted with smiles and warned of warm bowls and plates. Shrimp and Pork wonton with chili oil: good little appetizer, i liked the splash of green on it from the green onions and had a good home made taste. Flavored Beef Tendon and Golden Prime Beef Soup: The spicy broth was excellent, savory and rich with a pleasant spice level. Noodles were good and for both dishes I loved having something green in the bowl to make it more appetizing. XLB + Pan Fried Buns: The thing we noticed with both of these were there was very little broth/soup inside which is one of the main reasons to order these dishes. The pan fried buns were still soft and not all the way crispy on bottom. Salt and Pepper Fried Fish: I love this dish so much and will order it when I think someone will make it right. Their version is very nice with fluffy fish inside and a crunchy slightly spicy outer layer. We had a mistake on our receipt where they only billed us for 2 soups when we got three and I happily corrected it and paid the proper amount to not "steal" from them. Thank you for the good food.

If you love dumplings, you have to try Yum Dumpling! The dumplings are handmade, juicy, and full of flavor. Their Xiao Long Bao (soup dumplings) are a must-order. We tried several dishes and everything was so delicious. The Juicy Pork Xiao Long Bao was full of soup and flavor -- one of our favorites. The Hot Dry Noodles were very fragrant, and the Beef Tendon Noodle Soup was rich and comforting. We also ordered Combination Fried Rice, Broccoli Beef, and Sauteed String Beans -- everything tasted fresh and very tasty. The service was very friendly, and they have free parking, which is a big plus. The restaurant is clean and cozy. This place is perfect for authentic Chinese food and the food is made fresh when you order. Definitely a great spot for dumplings and noodles! My kids love this place. We will definitely come back soon!!

Yelp Elite here and finally tried Yum Dumpling and it did not disappoint. Starting with the food because that's really why you come here. The chicken soup dumplings were a standout since most places only offer pork. The broth was rich and comforting. My favorite dish was easily the shrimp and pork wontons in chili oil. They were packed with meat, super flavorful, and had just the right amount of heat. The kalbi was juicy and well marinated. I also appreciated seeing beef chow fun on the menu since it's not super common. The signature flavored beef noodle was another highlight. Tender beef, chewy noodles, and a broth that was bold and full of flavor. The shrimp fried rice was simple but solid and tied everything together nicely. Service was friendly and welcoming. Food came out at a good pace and the staff were helpful when it came to recommendations. The space itself is cozy, clean, and inviting. A great spot for a casual meal where the food really shines. Overall, a solid spot if you're craving dumplings and noodles. Definitely a place I'd come back.

Shrimp & pork with chives dumplings. Looks nothing like the ones on their monitor. But it's good.

Almost everything on their menu is good. I didn't care for the kalbi; I thought it was too sweet. The pancake and the shrimp fried rice is a must. The shumai is tasty too. I'll have to try the green beans next time I come.

Bottom Line Up Front: Yum Dumpling is a pleasant surprise, delivering great Chinese food with good service in a clean setting. The Background: I rarely go out to have Chinese food in Orange County because I find most places to be average at best. Normally if I have a craving, I drive up to the Rowland Heights area for authentic Chinese food. So going to Yum Dumpling I had some apprehensions. Thankfully, I had nothing to fear. The Food: My wife and I ordered popcorn chicken to start and the beef tendon noodle soup and sweet-and-sour tenderloin as entrees. The popcorn chicken pieces were quite large and juicy while the breading on the outside was crispy and perfectly seasoned. The noodle soup was flavorful with just the perfect amount of szechuan -- a little kick but not so spicy that it numbs your mouth. And the sweet-and-sour tenderloin was solid. The batter was a little softer than I would like; I prefer it a little crispier to balance out the syrupy goodness so that each piece wouldn't get soggy. But still, the flavors were there and the meat was moist and tender. The Setting: Brightly lit with orange walls and light colored wooden tables, the place is clean and has a warm, inviting atmosphere. However, for a sit-down restaurant, it's a little on the smaller side. There's a small counter for 2 people, about 4 tables for 4 people, and 4 tables for 6 people. And with limited space, it would be difficult to combine tables for parties of 8 or more. Oh, and I found it odd for a sit-down restaurant with beautiful bowls, plates, and utensils to serve drinking water in cheap, disposable plastic cups. The Location: It's on busy Chapman Avenue in a small strip mall with a small parking lot with limited spots. Plus, each parking spot is a little narrow, so if you drive an SUV or truck, it'll be a tight squeeze getting in and out if your door. The Prices: Maybe I'm slow or living in the past, but the cost of food is creeping up everywhere, and Yum Dumpling is no exception. Prices range from $7 to $10 for appetizers, $10 to $20 for side dishes, and $14 to $20 for entrees. Our dinner for two came out to be about $52 with tip -- a little higher than expected for a place that serves water in a plastic cup. The Service: Our server was friendly and knowledgeable. Unfortunately, he was basically the only one working the entire floor. There was a female server too, but we rarely saw her. This meant a little slower service than expected given the relative size of the place. The Conclusion: While not flawless, Yum Dumpling serves up tasty and authentic Chinese food (a rarity in Orange County) in a clean environment with friendly service. We look forward to returning and trying the other dishes.

Food was solid, flavorful and good amount of food. Service was nice and fast. We got the xiao long bao (just hoped it had more juice), the signature noodles were nice and chewey with tender meat.

Yum Dumpling in Orange, CA has officially become my new weekday go-to, whether I'm grabbing takeout or dining in. They just reopened and everything is SO fresh, flavorful, and comforting. And honestly starting every meal in house with kimchi?? Say. Less. Who doesn't love kimchi?! The service is great, the owner even came out to check how we were enjoying everything! Every available table is set up and ready to go if dinning in. Here's everything I ordered this round: * Fruit tea combo (delicious) * Combination fried rice * Green onion pancakes * Signature Flavored Beef Noodle soup ($15) -Fresh made hand pilled noodles! * Juicy Pork Xiao Long Bao * Siu Mai * Beef Short Ribs Everything was superb, but the dumplings, beef soup and short ribs were chef's kiss. If you haven't checked out the new Yum Dumpling yet, run, don't walk

It's been a while since I've visited and I'm glad I did! The young lady who assisted us is very nice. The staff did a great job at keeping the place clean We ordered brown sugar mochi, beef noodle, pork over noodle, pork xlb. Brown Sugar Mochi- This was a delightfully sweet treat! The mochi has the perfect amount of chewiness and the brown sugar is delicious. Beef Noodle- Hits perfectly on a cold day! The broth is rich, savory, and perfectly spiced. The noodles were nice and chewy. They give a generous amount of tender beef chunks. Pork Over Noodle- The minced pork sauce has a nice blend of savory and sweet. Julienned cucumbers and corn add a layer of texture. Pork XLB- These dumplings are juicy and meaty with a savory finish. Served piping hot so be careful with making sire it cools a bit. A must-try! Glad to be back! Would definitely go again.

It really feels like Yum Dumpling got a fresh start! New ownership or chef maybe--but whatever changed, it's definitely for the better. The cozy mom-and-pop vibe is still there, just more polished than my last visit. The menu is a noticeable upgrade, clearer and easier to order from. We tried a good mix of dishes and everything delivered: juicy pork xiao long bao, plump shu mai, classic pork & chive dumplings, and beef & brown onion pan-fried dumplings with a nice crispy sear. The beef chow fun was smoky, savory, and satisfying. Complimentary kimchi leaned on the sweeter side, and the cucumber salad was refreshing--just be careful with the red chilies, they definitely bring heat . Only small note: if you prefer more traditional tangy kimchi, the sweetness might not be for you, but it's complimentary so no real complaints. We came in around 1:30 after the lunch rush, and service was relaxed, friendly, and attentive. The restaurant was clean, including the bathroom, which is always a plus. We were completely full but still grabbed the brown sugar mochi to-go--no regrets. Overall, Yum Dumpling feels refreshed and back on the right track. Easily back in my dumpling rotation.

We went all out and ordered a ton of dishes including clams in basil, lobster, Peking duck, honey walnut shrimp, and shaken beef. Everything came out fresh, flavorful, and perfect for sharing. Honestly, every dish was a hit with the table. Service was great throughout the night. Our server even brought the lobster out for a quick photo op before it was taken back to be prepared, which made the night feel a little more special. We ended up with around 12 main entrees plus some drinks, and the total was surprisingly affordable for the amount of food we ordered. Definitely a solid spot for group dinners and celebrations. Only downside is parking can be a bit tricky, especially on a busy weekend night, so plan a little extra time for that. Overall, would absolutely come back!
