If you're not looking for a full-on meal, there's also 12-ounce servings of chilled noodles and an assortment of appetizers. The Menu: My wife and I had done some reconnaissance on Yelp to determine what we wanted before we got that. But when we got there, we were told they had just changed their menu...that day! We were bummed. But that disappointment quickly melted away after the first bite... The Food: Switching it up on the fly, I chose to build my own plate, ordering the Ponzu Steak (for an extra $5.95) as my protein. For one of my sides, I chose the potatoes. But I couldn't choose between the dumpling cucumber salad or the cilantro salad. The staff recommended the dumpling cucumber salad and was kind enough to give me a small sample of the cilantro salad so I could compare. How kind of her! So, how did it taste? One word: Delicious. The steak was cooked just the way I like it: seared on the outside, pink on the inside. While some parts of the sinew were a little chewy, for the most part the meat was was moist, soft, and flavorful. The greens were all thoroughly enjoyable and the potatoes were perfect. The Drinks: I got the Coffee Banoffee, which was a cold brew with banana toffee foam and cinnamon. I was pleasantly surprised that it was quite good -- equal to or ecen better than some trendy cafes nearby. This is a fact to be celebrated, since it's rare to find a good eatery that also offers good coffee. And the Coffee Banoffee was not a one-off, since my wife ordered the Jasmine Matcha Cloud and that too was tasty -- and I'm not a huge fan of Jasmine tea. The Service: The whole team there was friendly, knowledgable, and fast. Truly top-notch service. The Location: It's located in a small strip mall located on the same property as a large office tower and beside Angel Stadium. That means there's not a whole lot of parking dedicated to the strip mall. The day we visited on a Sunday afternoon, the property management was selling spots to its empty office tower nearby parking lot for baseball fans, as there was a game later that day. That meant more traffic than normal. Fortunately, we found one of the few open spots in the strip mall parking lot before the lunchtime rush. But it might be worth checking your Angels calendar before heading here in the future. The Pricing: The plates start at $16, which isn't horrible in this day and age of inflation economics. But when you tally up the small surcharges for premium sides (or the extra $6 for steak), you're looking at a $20 meal for one. That doesn't include a signature drink, which are all $7.50. So, you're looking at about $30 per person. That's asking a bit for fast-casual dining. The Conclusion: While you'll face a slight premium, you get what you pay for at Easy Young. And what you get is clean ingredients, yummy modern Asian food, and excellent customer service. My husband and his brother loved going as often as every lunch break and it is such a treat to find something similar opening here in Anaheim. I tried the plate combo and chose the pork which was succulent and had a good ratio to the purple rice. There were more than 10 sides to choose and I picked the mushroom cheese rice cake (tteokbokki) and a Parmesan dusted roasted squash slices. Topped the meat with spicy peanut sauce was chef's kiss. If you like CAVA, this is the elevated quality but Asian/Korean instead of Mediterranean. And because I'm pregnant, all my cravings were satisfied, including the three refresher lemonades for the hot weather. Staff is helpful and there's plenty of seating and ample sunlight from the store front that's neighbors to the popular Lola MFK. Order a couple apps ordered the crispy dumplings, Waygu steak frites, and the hot honey crisp baby back ribs. Bo the the Waygu and baby back ribs came on a bed of the delicious battered fries. Started with Waygu steak frites and the sauce which was a house scezhuan peppercorn sauce was delicious. The Waygu left a little to be desired as it was cooked very rare. The crispy dumplings were nice with a chili crisp dipping sauce that was very tasty. And the honey crisp baby back ribs were fall off the bone well cooked. Service was quick and efficient and host asked how everything was. Good overall was good only issue was the price. A little high for fast casual and I think this may be the deterrent to some people. They are about $15 for a bowl. They weigh your food. Personally I liked that they weigh the food. It gives you the exact protein and info on the screen so you are not surprised. My standards for matcha are pretty high since OC has so many good spots so I was excited to see that their matcha here is ceremonial grade, first harvest, and hand whisked. Overall, the flavor was good and the drink was well balanced with the cream and the sweetness level was great and not too sweet! It was smooth and not grainy at all and I love that it's made with oat milk by default! I do wish that the matcha flavor was stronger though, it is definitely lighter than I expected.
