First time trying this Saiga location! I've had Saiga in Irvine before, so I already knew I had to get the banh mi again. I also tried the tofu vermicelli this time, and both were really good. Last time my friend like how refreshing the vermicelli was, and I can see how it feels like a clean eat. You specifically can sub the eggroll for a veggie eggroll if you're vegetarian. They have a bunch of classics on their menu including pho, vermicelli bowls, bahn mi, garlic noodles and rice dishes. The egg roll was perfectly crispy and had a good filling ratio. I'm glad the cashier convinced me to get the crispy pork belly. I typically don't like pork belly because it's too fatty but this one was perfect with the crunchy skin and juicy tender meat. The nuoc cham fish sauce balanced out the whole dish too. I had the blended coconut Thai tea smoothie to go with my vermicelli bowl and it was delicious - creamy, nutty, sweet and a good amount of Thai tea flavor. I've been to their Irvine location and was hoping that this restaurant would be as consistent as Irvine and it delivered! Husband and I ate the banh mi sandwich with grilled pork, vermicelli with barbecue chicken and garlicky noodles with crispy pork belly. Don't tell anyone, but we actually like the banh mi sandwich more here than at Lee's Sandwiches! And the crispy pork belly with the garlicky noodles put it over the top - I never had crispy pork belly before. Every bite was so good, definitely coming back! I ordered the bank mi with grilled pork, the popcorn chicken, and coconut Thai tea. The grilled pork was tasty and had a nice smoky flavor. There was a delicious sauce in the banh mi that tied it all together really well. The texture of the bread was perfect and the rest of the ingredients tasted fresh. The coconut Thai tea was surprisingly good; instead of ice cubes, the added coconut flavoring came in the form of a slushy, which honestly gives you more volume of food. Ordered takeout so cannot comment on service or ambience. 8/10 Garlic Noodles with Pork Belly ($16): Pork belly was good, but the noodles were a little stale, as if they were taken out of an instant package and then dumped into hot water. The green aioli sauce was a nice addition, but it didn't really add nor take away from the dish. 10/10 Pumpkin Spice Vietnamese Latte ($6.5): I love Vietnamese coffee, so this was a great festive drink to add onto the menu. The pumpkin flavor really comes through. Delicious and heavily caffeinated, would highly recommend trying. read more
