Service was thorough and attentive as needed. Our food came out pretty quickly. Appetizers included egg rolls and spring rolls. We each got different types of dishes, including the spicy beef noodle soup. It wasn't spicy at all until I added some of the chili oil available in the condiments area on the table. Decided to try the pho here while I was in the area with friends. They are located in a plaza with plenty of parking. They were almost full inside but we were able to get a table without much of a wait. I ordered the Beef Pho with brisket, meatballs, and rare steak. They have tripe and tendon as the other options and you can choose 1-3 items for 13.49 or 4-5 for a large size 15.49. The food was ready pretty quick and the portion was reasonable for the price. The meat quality was good and they give you the bean sprouts and other veggies to add into the broth. The broth was also pretty good and flavorful. It a affordable pho place if you are in the area. I did not get "gio" by choice. I got everything else that came with it. It's hard driving out to Bolsa or GG Town so I am glad I finally found some good Bun Bo Hue here in Tustin. Meats, noodles and veggies tasted fresh. Bun Thit Nuong Cha Gio (BBQ pork with eggrolls) tasted deliciously fresh and clean with well marinated meats. Pho was on the sweet side but very delicious as well. Pho was served with all the normal thai basil and Ngo Gai, bean sprouts etc so that was a plus. I placed a takeout order comprised of Pho, spring rolls, egg rolls and a side of tendon What went right? 1) Order taker was very nice 2) A cup of water in disposable cup with an enclosed straw was provided to me as I waited for my order, all this without asking for it 3) The attendant was updating me with order status constantly 4) Egg rolls were missing from the order, found this out when I got to my destination (far), called the restaurant to make them aware, and was quickly refunded I'm not sure when was the last time I was treated so well, the food was great, but the service was impeccable from my perspective, they found a new faithful customer from now on!!!!! Great prices at this restaurant! My family and I all ordered the pho. My only "complaint" is that the soup tasted pretty sweet (so I added lime to balance it out). This place is located inside a strip mall near the end of the street el camino way. It is in the same plaza as cream pan. Plenty of parking in this strip mall. There is a water fountain right in front of it. When I walked in, I was greeted by a friendly male server and he was attentive. He greeted me and sat me down, took my order and food came out pretty fast. The inside of this place isn't that big. The menu only has Vietnamese and English but no Chinese so it might be inconvenient for people thats not that good in English and Vietnamese. Food wise, I ordered a Pho noodle soup. You can pick 3 items from a Medium size bowl and 4-5 items for a large size bowl. The portion came out smaller than I expected but not a big deal. i also ordered an egg flower crab meat soup which it is pretty decent. A decent pho restaurant to go a grab a quick lunch or dinner. It was surprisingly very good. They gave a fair amount of sliced rare beef and it was tender as I was hoping. The meatballs were also very good and it's the version with tendon. Tasty but not tough at all, which I liked. The tripe was good but some pieces were a bit tough. Most pieces were okay. Noodles were a bit too overcooked though. I like the noodles to be more el dente. Broth was perfectly made. Not fatty or greasy, nor oily. Clean and also not too salty. Will definitely be back to try other dishes. A lady next to me had the bun bo hue and that smelled good so I want to try that next, and also the grilled pork with vermicelli. Pork slices look lean in some of the Yelp review photos. Warning when tipping, this business sets their machines with tip defaults on your full bill. So if you don't do the math yourself and just click on the handheld machine they give you, you will pay tip on top of tax too. That's a tricky business practice that adds up for them across every customer. They responded that they use Clover which doesn't allow them to change, and I can click "custom tip" to calculate myself. So they have admitted they are defaulting to additional tax on tip. When I took a few minutes to research, "Clover's tip calculation system allows businesses to set their own tip percentages and whether to include taxes in the tip calculation." Putting the burden on the customer instead of doing the right thing seemingly, but it works for them that most people don't pay attention I guess. read more

Pho Ky Dong is a new Vietnamese-owned spot that just opened up in the Tustin area. This spot is located in the same plaza where Cream Pan and Tanakaya are. There are a good amount of parking spots in the plaza. As soon as we saw this spot opened up, wifey and I knew we had to come through to support. We stopped by for lunch around 12pm and were seated right away. Inside, they have a modest setup with a homey feel and about 7-8 tables for seating. For their menu, they have a solid selection of different appetizers, rice, pho, and other noodle dishes to choose from. We opted to try the Pho Dac Biet (Combination Pho) and the Com Tam Thit Nuong (Broken Rice with Grilled Pork). Overall, the food we had was authentic and delicious! I stopped by Pho Ky Dong this morning with my mom since they were one of the few places open for Thanksgiving near us. We both ordered the chicken pho, and it totally hit the spot on a chilly day. The broth was rich and flavorful--I didn't even feel the need to add fish sauce. The portion was generous, with plenty of chicken and just the right amount of noodles (not too many, which I prefer). Came to try this pho restaurant on a Friday evening, and unfortunately, the experience wasn't ideal. It seemed like they might have been short-staffed, as the wait for food and tables to be cleared was incredibly long. I believe I waited over 20 minutes just for a bowl of pho, and what was more surprising was that our spring rolls arrived after our main dishes. As with last time, the Pho was excellent and compared favorably to a highly regarded and popular place in Artesia I used to go to regularly when I worked in the area. We also got the spring rolls, which were excellent. Pro tip: The portions are generous.
