I enjoy this place as an authentic vietnamese restaurant in Tustin. It has alot of great options. Pho, bun bo hue, broken rice, vermicelli, appetizers, etc. I'd recommend this as a solid spot to eat at, although I generally get things to go. Updating my review, but this time it's for dining in the restaurant. I came here and brought two of my coworkers on a Friday during lunch. The dining area is small to medium, but cozy. We all ordered our individual meals and each got something different. I have been thinking of having the spicy beef noodle soup or bun bo Hue at this restaurant. A friend mentioned to me that he had the soup and said it was delicious. The broth was not heavy or greasy compared to other places. It was flavorful with hints of lemongrass and there's chili oil available on the table to add for a little heat. I finished the bowl no problem and most of the broth. My coworkers had the pho brisket noodle soup. She really loved her bowl. Same for my other coworker who ordered the vermicelli noodles with grilled pork, shrimp, and eggroll. They were super pleased with their lunch and are excited to return for another meal. The gentlemen who worked there were friendly and checked in on us. Located near Cream Pan Bakery with plenty of parking. It was not busy when we arrived on a late Saturday afternoon. I loved Bun Bo Hue here. Soup tasted light yet rich at the same time. I did not get "gio" by choice. I got everything else that came with it. It's hard driving out to Bolsa or GG Town so I am glad I finally found some good Bun Bo Hue here in Tustin. Meats, noodles and veggies tasted fresh. Bun Thit Nuong Cha Gio (BBQ pork with eggrolls) tasted deliciously fresh and clean with well marinated meats. Pho was on the sweet side but very delicious as well. Pho was served with all the normal thai basil and Ngo Gai, bean sprouts etc so that was a plus. I was craving for Pho today driving pass the area and I found this pho place on yelp with some good reviews so i decided to come and try it out. This place is located inside a strip mall near the end of the street el camino way. It is in the same plaza as cream pan. Plenty of parking in this strip mall. There is a water fountain right in front of it. When I walked in, I was greeted by a friendly male server and he was attentive. He greeted me and sat me down, took my order and food came out pretty fast. The inside of this place isn't that big. The menu only has Vietnamese and English but no Chinese so it might be inconvenient for people thats not that good in English and Vietnamese. Food wise, I ordered a Pho noodle soup. You can pick 3 items from a Medium size bowl and 4-5 items for a large size bowl. The portion came out smaller than I expected but not a big deal. i also ordered an egg flower crab meat soup which it is pretty decent. A decent pho restaurant to go a grab a quick lunch or dinner. Nothing negative I can say about this place but also nothing amazed me to give it a 5 so therefore I would give this place a 3.5 rating ( round up to be 4 star rating ). read more

Great prices at this restaurant! My family and I all ordered the pho. My only "complaint" is that the soup tasted pretty sweet (so I added lime to balance it out). Tasty but not tough at all, which I liked. The tripe was good but some pieces were a bit tough. Most pieces were okay. Noodles were a bit too overcooked though. I like the noodles to be more el dente. Broth was perfectly made. Not fatty or greasy, nor oily. Clean and also not too salty. Will definitely be back to try other dishes. A lady next to me had the bun bo hue and that smelled good so I want to try that next, and also the grilled pork with vermicelli. Pork slices look lean in some of the Yelp review photos. Pho Ky Dong is a new Vietnamese-owned spot that just opened up in the Tustin area. This spot is located in the same plaza where Cream Pan and Tanakaya are. There are a good amount of parking spots in the plaza. As soon as we saw this spot opened up, wifey and I knew we had to come through to support. We stopped by for lunch around 12pm and were seated right away. Inside, they have a modest setup with a homey feel and about 7-8 tables for seating. For their menu, they have a solid selection of different appetizers, rice, pho, and other noodle dishes to choose from. We opted to try the Pho Dac Biet (Combination Pho) and the Com Tam Thit Nuong (Broken Rice with Grilled Pork). Overall, the food we had was authentic and delicious! I stopped by Pho Ky Dong this morning with my mom since they were one of the few places open for Thanksgiving near us. We both ordered the chicken pho, and it totally hit the spot on a chilly day. The broth was rich and flavorful--I didn't even feel the need to add fish sauce. The portion was generous, with plenty of chicken and just the right amount of noodles (not too many, which I prefer). There was ample parking, and our food came out surprisingly fast, which was great. When I went up to pay, I noticed they had given us a discount, so our total with tax and tip came out to under $30. Perhaps more authentic or regional, but our two bowls of Bun Bo Hue rivaled Taiwanese Stinky Tofu in stench! I've never had BBH that smelled so strongly. The color was also off. More orange colored. We also got the spring rolls, which were excellent. Pro tip: The portions are generous. Outstanding Vietnamese food! I'm Vietnamese so I would say it's not if it was bad. Pho was spot on. I don't think they use any msg bc I didn't get sick after. Pho ap cho was fire! Get it crunchy. They even had a Thai dessert that I love and they made it right. Super kind server. She even told me in Vietnamese to let her know if I needed anything which I have literally never heard a Vietnamese person say to me, like ever. Everything was fresh and delicious. Best Bun Bo Hue and butter garlic wings I've had in SoCal. I've been on a 5 year journey trying to find a place that could rival my mom's Bun Bo Hue. This is the closest I've ever tasted and the best one yet. Their BBH overflows with deep shrimp paste umami and ample beef. The other star dish was the garlic butter fried chicken wings, which had a finger licking sticky sauce yet still crispy wings. I'd say it's better than Mama Hieu's, which specializes in wings. Growing up, I remember making trips to Little Saigon just to get good Vietnamese food--and I can honestly say, this is arguably the BEST pho I've ever had. Yes, I said it! I can tell the ingredients are of excellent quality with hearty, generous slices of perfectly cooked chicken. The broth is clean yet deeply flavorful, with an authenticity that's hard to find. Every bite feels like it's made with heart and tradition. The grilled shrimp rice plate was bursting with flavor. The shrimp was marinated delectably and the rice soaked up the yummy sauce. The egg rolls were very filling and delicious cooked to a perfectly crispy texture. I love the vegetables that accompanied this dish. On top of that, they are so generous with their vegetable sides. We had the pleasure of meeting Kai, our wonderful server, who shared that their family used to sell street food back in Saigon before opening their own restaurant here. I love hearing stories like Kai's. I find it so inspiring. It's clear that Pho Ky Dong is a labor of love, and you can taste it in every dish.
