    Papaya Salad

I came to Bangkok Kitchen on a weekday for lunch and we had a table reserved. Our server was so nice and sat us down with water right away, which I always appreciate when I'm hungry and ready to eat. We ordered everything family style so we could share, and I have to say I was surprised by how much my coworkers were raving about the fries here. After trying them, I totally get it. They were so delicious and honestly kind of addictive. We asked our server about the seasoning and he told us it's the owner's own recipe, which makes them feel extra special. The rest of the food was pretty standard Thai food, solid and satisfying. I also love that they keep a variety of vinegars on the table so I don't have to ask!!!

Such great service, and such great food. My Thai food cravings had kicked in and eager to try somewhere I haven't been, I came across this restaurant. We came early on a weekday afternoon, around 3PM. The parking lot had plenty of spots open so I snagged one not far from the entrance, somewhat close to the dry cleaners. We walked in and were greeted and seated immediately. With only 1 other party in there with us (they were almost done eating), their service was focused on us. We ordered the following: - Papaya Salad: This was tasty. It consisted of shredded green papaya, green bean, garlic, and tomato tossed in chili and lime dressing. There were shreds of lettuce in there as well and we weren't sure if we were supposed to mix it, but we did anyways. It added more crunch to it and the salad itself tasted fresh. My girlfriend thought it was spicy but it had no effect on me. - Pad Thai: This was my dish and the dish I lean towards at almost every Thai restaurant. I just love thin noodles. I chose Angus Beef (+$2) and I feel it was the best choice. I also got it without bean sprouts :). It was a delicious large portion. No complaints. - Pad See Ew: My girlfriend's order, the typical flat noodle dish with egg, broccoli, and sweet dark soy sauce. She opted for pork. It was good, but I'm not a fan of flat noodles. She enjoyed it though. Service was excellent. I'm not sure of the gentleman's name but he wore his hair in a ponytail and had glasses. He was very friendly and helpful. I don't see parking being a big deal, but maybe in the late afternoon hours it may be difficult to find a post. Overall a good experience. I will definitely be back!

I'm not a huge fan of Thai omelettes I've given them about 2 tries. My friend who is Thai told me to try this one and I'm thankful for his suggestion because it was very good. I can't resist in ordering pad Thai because this one is here is very good and not too greasy. Thank you again for another great visit

My daughter was in the mood for Thai and found Bangkok Kitchen. It's a small hole in the wall restaurant, but the food is good and the service is great! The pad thai was tasty. We also ordered garlic pepper with beef and stir fry broccoli with beef - both dishes were okay, my daughter said her dish could use more garlic flavor as she kept pouring the sweet and sour sauce over it. The fried chicken wings and tofu was perfectly crisp. Our server was friendly - our water cups were never empty. There is an 18% automatic gratuity for parties of 5 +. Parking is in a shared lot, no issues on a Sunday afternoon.

On a last minute trip to Southern California and this was luckily near my hotel. They have a nice selection of dishes on menu and you can also create a bowl from scratch. But there was a spicy pork one that had a lime based broth and that is what drew me in. The broth was everything. Seriously, could have just drunken a cup of it straight. Amazing tang, perfect balance of acid. So freaking good. I picked thin rice noodles for it, which where delicous, and there was generous serving of ground pork, pork slice, and some other meats that I honestly have no idea what they were but they were tasty. And it had two fish balls, which I LOVE. There was so much that it was easily two servings but since in hotel and leaving tomorrow I couldn't take leftovers with me, which made me sad. Other highlight, only $15 for bowl which is fair price. If I come back to area, I'm coming back to here. Hopefully with someone so we can share and I can try more. The table next to me had some great looking dishes.

We were in the mood for Thai and sort of ended up here unexpectedly and it was ultimately a pleasant surprise. We grabbed the pumpkin curry and spicy basil. The pumpkin curry is not a dish I would really every order myself but I'm glad we did, as it ended up being a lovely dish with a great combination of pumpkin and spice. The spicy basil was pretty standard but in a way I didn't mind. Both dishes hit a spice level we wanted and always appreciate. It is a skosh on the expensive side, which was surprising for the environment that gives takeout vibes.

This is our go-to Thai spot. The servers are always very attentive. The wait for our food is always fast. And the food is consistently delicious and flavorful. Their curries are my favorite, especially the panang curry and pumpkin curry. We tried the tom yum soup yesterday, which was very delicious. It is the clear broth type (tom yum nam sai), not the milky type. Presentation for the plates are also pretty. (For the soup I forgot to snap a picture before I stirred the soup btw!)

Happened upon BK to meet friends, none of us had been here before. Parking was a breeze on a Sunday afternoon and no wait to be seated. Nothing special about the ambiance, standard fast-casual. We got egg rolls and calamari appetizers - tasty egg rolls, I didn't try the calamari but my friends liked it. Main dishes were Prik King pork, yellow curry, pad see ew (angus beef +$2), and Tom Kla soup (shrimp +$2). Not as good as Thai Town, but very good for OC Thai. There are additional charges for things like no ice in my Thai coffee +$1, but everything is detailed on the menu and our server let us know. Note that the automatic 18% service charge is for parties of 5+, which is unusual, but it's on the menu and the server circled it on the receipt. It's also calculated from the subtotal, not including sales tax, as it should be. All restaurants should follow their lead, it's so much better to be transparent. All in all, a good dining experience, and I'll return if I'm in the area again. Conveniently located on MacArthur just west of the 55.

Absolutely loved this place! Came here as a party of 4 on a Saturday around 5:30. The place is a bit small and tucked in a corner in a line of shops. The pumpkin curry was so delicious. I have never tried a pumpkin curry anywhere else but this hits the spot. It was savory and warms you up. It comes with a bowl of white rice on the side. The pad thai was great as well. There were some peanuts for crunch and the noodles were unlike any other pad thai ive eaten at other thai restaurants. The noodles were springy and chewy kinda like rice paper. Combined with the bit of lime, the flavor was great. The pineapple fried rice was great as well. Pretty standard and nothing too special but overall a solid dish. [Didn't order the curry puffs but a kid at a table nearby was chowing down on them. I would probably give them a try if i have the opportunity to come back again.] The service is super attentive and came around often to fill out water whenever they were empty. Overall super delicious and cozy.

A little Thai restaurant I found which ended up being a great place for lunch or dinner. The restaurant is small but it gets busy during lunch time as everyone knows the food will be great. I saw most people had the pumpkin curry on their tables so I had to try that and along with it some pineapple fried rice. Both dishes came out fairly quick which is great for people that are on a strict lunch break as they don't have to wait too long. I loved the pumpkin curry. Just the flavors of sweet, spicy, salty and all the goodness from the texture of vegetables and the meat I got just went great together. The pineapple fried rice was very good as well but I highly recommend the pumpkin curry here. Would definitely come back for more!!

I think that there are probably more people who order for pickup because a lot came in to grab their food during our entire visit. It seems they have a good amount of regulars too. Almost like the Cheers bar in MA where everybody knows your name. Kinda nice actually. What we ordered: 1) pad see ew with crispy pork - 5/5. The kids loved this so much we needed up having to order two. 2) garlic salmon - 4/5. Served over a bed of veggies. This one was à la cart so we had to order a side of rice. It's enough for one person. This was covered with garlicky goodness. My son was wanting more. 3) Panang curry - 5/5. Not pictured here. One of our guests started to devour that dish before I could even take a photo. Sadly, they weren't familiar with me wanting to take a picture. The kids were like "oh no. Well, I guess it was bound to happen. While my food adventures in OC have largely been successful,…read moreit was inevitable that I'd end up coming across a place that so many folks like that just didn't hit the mark for me. However, I never would've thought that place was going to be Siam Station. After hearing good things about their spot in Cupertino/the Bay Area from several friends, it felt rather fortuitous when we randomly came across their original location - and with no line in sight! Inside, they've got a cozy sort of vibe and it's cool how they have some outdoor tables set-up as well. As for the menu, it didn't seem all that extensive at a glance, but it has all of the staples you'd expect to find among their appetizers, soups, salads, fried rice, stir fried noodles, noodle soups, curry dishes, entrees, and desserts. -- ZESTY WINGS - Deep Fried Chicken Wings Topped with Crispy Basil and Served with Chili Sauce Easily our favorite dish of the night. The wings were really crispy on the outside and oh so juicy on the inside. Even though there wasn't much of the sauce, which was flavorful but not that spicy, it was fine - the wings were still great without it. -- KHAO SOI with Chicken - Yellow Curry Broth with Egg Noodles and Chicken and Served with Red Onions, Lime, and Pickles Ehh...this was okay, I guess. On the plus side, the chicken was tender and I thought the broth was pretty good - not the best I've had, but better than most. That said, I didn't love the egg noodles, especially the crispy ones after they had soaked up the broth. -- PAD KEE MOW (Drunken Noodles) with Crispy Pork - Flat Rice Noodles Stir Fried with Spicy Basil Garlic Sauce, Bell Peppers, Tomato, Sweet Onion, and Thai Basil I was super excited for this, but it was disappointing. The first thing we noticed was how pale it was and, sadly, the taste matched. Whether it be their garlic sauce or some chilis, this needed more. As for the pork, it was definitely crispy, but a few pieces bordered on dry/burnt. -- MANGO STICKY RICE A little hit, a little miss. The mango was fine (decently sweet, soft), but the sticky rice left us a little wanting. Mainly, I didn't love the glob of coconut cream, was it was pretty thick and viscous, which gave the rice a weird texture/coating to it. As far as service goes, it was uneventfully good. Although there was one point where it was hard to hail someone, it was mostly because the restaurant got increasingly busy and one of the servers was trying to help a group sort something out with their order. Otherwise, our food came out relatively quick and the workers were rather efficient with everything. Despite how we left feeling bummed out by our experience, it had more to do with being underwhelmed than the food actually being "bad". Admittedly, we came in with high hopes/expectations from all of the hype we had heard and it probably didn't help that we had gone to Manaao the night before, which is one of my favorite Thai restaurants anywhere. What's more, I wonder if we just didn't get the best that Siam Station has to offer. I certainly wouldn't be opposed to coming back to find out (and potentially writing an update), but perhaps I'll just try my luck at their spot in Cupertino that my friends like so much.

The staff was friendly and quickly greeted and guided me to my reserved table. The space was cozy and warm while having a minimalist vibe, but still had that small business owner feel to it. The menu had so many food options, more than some of the other thai spots around in OC. Here, you'll find some more rare dishes besides your more common and popular noodle and curry dishes. Dishes we ordered: - Crab Noodles: this was probably the most popular one for the table! Amount of crab was pretty good for the value and noodles were perfectly sweet and savory with the fried egg. Would definitely order this again! - Panang Curry with Chicken: this was also probably one of the best panang that I've had! The chicken was also very tender. Medium heat was the perfect amount of space that packed flavor with just the right kick to it. - Creamy Udon in Tom Yum Soup: just a little mild for those who don't want anything too spicy. While the crispy pork had good flavor, the pieces were a bit hard to chew. - Pad Thai: not usually my go-to dish because it's more sweet than savory, but this dish was pretty good. - Egg Rolls: perfect to share as an appetizer! Filling was well seasoned and rolls were lightly fried for a good crispy texture. With so many popular thai spots around OC, it can be tricky finding one that checks all the marks, but this one might have it all! Now I just need to make sure to save stomach space to try their mango sticky rice...

The Pad Thai was my favorite of the night. The flavor was so well-balanced -- not overly sweet, not too tangy, and the savory notes came through perfectly. The noodles were cooked just right and every bite felt comforting without being too heavy. You can tell they paid attention to the sauce ratio instead of drowning the dish in it. The calamari and shrimp with egg yolk glaze had that addictive crispy texture while still staying light. The egg yolk coating added richness without overpowering the seafood, and the sweet chili dip on the side tied everything together really well. The BBQ ribeye was tender, flavorful, and paired nicely with the fresh greens and dipping sauce. It had that smoky charred flavor that makes it hard to stop eating piece after piece. Overall, this meal felt satisfying without any one dish overpowering the others. Definitely one of those spots where you leave already thinking about what you want to order next time. Sadly, I didn't have enough room for dessert, but the mango sticky rice is definitely first on my list next time.
