Saw an add for this place a few months ago and finally made it. The location was a little small, but the decor was cute. Everything seemed clean. We ordered the Cucumber Salad, the Minced Pork Oil Splashed Hand Pulled Noodles, the Dan Dan Noodles, the Uni & Shrimp Shu Mai, and the Xiao Long Bao. From best to least: Uni & Shrimp Shu Mai - uniquely delicious. We ordered 3, but next time, I would order the whole basket. The taste was so on point and delicious. The Oil Splashed Noodles - so chewy and delicious. They had the best mouth feel, so rich and luxurious. The minced pork was delicious, too, but ended up sitting at the bottom of the bowl to be taken home. It was delicious, but unnecessary. Next time, I'm going to order the Classic. Dan Dan Noodles -these were good with a great sesame aroma. If we had had them anywhere else, I would have said they were excellent, but compared to the hand-pulled Noodles, they were only good. I would order them again if the location was out of the other Noodles. Xiao Long Bao - better than Paradise, not as good as DTF. They had the sane flavor profile as TJs. I would eat them again if other items were sold out. Cucumber Salad - very simple. It was edible, but the simplest Cucumber Salad I've ever eaten. XIBEI Eatery was a solid find, especially if you're a fan of hand-pulled noodles and dumplings. The Beef Short Rib Oil Splashed Hand-Pulled Noodles were savory with a pleasant little kick of spice. The noodles themselves were the star--wonderfully toothsome with that satisfying al dente chew you want from hand-pulled noodles. The oil-based sauce was flavorful, although a bit thin for my taste. I'm firmly in the "give me extra sauciness" camp, so I would've loved a little more sauce clinging to those noodles. The beef short rib, however, needed no improvement. Deliciously tender and practically falling apart in my mouth. Definitely a highlight. The soup dumplings delivered where it counts: they were nicely soupy! The assorted handmade shumai were generously meaty as well, although I didn't pick up much of the vegetable profile in the beef and onion version. My biggest suggestion would be to expand the dipping sauce department. Soy sauce and vinegar were the only options available, and while perfectly serviceable, these dumplings deserve a little more excitement. A ginger-based sauce--or really two or three different dipping options--would be a welcome addition for both the shumai and soup dumplings. Give us something to dip, mix, and experiment with! The restaurant itself is nicely appointed and there were plenty of tables available during my visit. The setup is casual and easy: order at the counter first, grab a seat, put your number on the table, and your food is delivered to you. I came here last night for dinner with 3 of my friends, and we ordered several noodle dishes, the infamous XLB, uni shumai dumplings, popcorn chicken, pork belly, garlic butter broccoli, and sweet drinks. We did not wait long for our food, and everything was a hit! We were all satisfied with the portions as well as the clean interior of the restaurant. Special thanks to the staff lead, Mark, who served us and stopped by frequently to make sure we were happy with our dining experience. This was such a good find for our big party of 12 when we were in the area. We had 7 kids in our party and the restaurant was so accommodating to come to our table to take our order for us because otherwise we would have had to take turns going to the front to order. It's a kid-friendly restaurant with the most adorable silicone kid plates and colorful kid utensils. I have never seen silicone ones in other restaurants and it really shows their commitment to being a restaurant for the whole family to enjoy. At first glance, we were worried that the kids would have limited food options because their hand-pulled oil splashing noodles are all spicy. However, we found out that you can actually get them non-spicy! That was a great as we really enjoyed their noodles. The noodles are a great texture and such a good, filling portion. I love the garlic in it. I also really appreciated that in addition to bokchoy, there were carrots and potatoes in the noodle. Their braised pork belly rice rice bowl was also a large portion. After placing my order, I noticed that there was also a price under it as a side and wanted to change it to the side size since it was for my son. However, the server was not able to accommodate it even though the order had not come out yet - saying that the order has already been placed. The flavor of the dish was great and my son finished the entire bowl of rice with the sauce. The meat, however, was on the hard side and not that tender so I wouldn't recommend it for kids. The uni and shrimp dumplings were delicious and so unique! Besides the noodle, this was the other highlight of our meal. It is definitely a must-order and I would go back just for those and to also try their drinks and desserts next time. One minus was that the popcorn chicken side is spicy, even though it is not marked with a spice symbol on the menu like other dishes are. I ordered that specifically for the kids to share because it wasn't marked as spicy. However, it turned out too spicy even for me to eat much of. When it arrived and we found that how spicy it is, they weren't able to replace/remake it for us. Came during lunch on a Sunday. Wait time 30-40 minutes. Food: 10/10 Ordered 2 special beef rib noodles,1 oil noodle, beef shumai and pork shumai. The specials came with tea and salad but we never got our salad. They were really busy and the waitresses were really hustling. They had to bus the tables, deliver food and drinks, and deliver orders. I think they need more floor staff for sure. There was 1 waitress with black hair that was doing everything herself. They didn't have a real way to check in, just a piece of paper you put your name on. Their tables are really odd so you often have to sit with other parties. That was fine with us but there's also an odd indent in the table so it makes it difficult for the person on that side to eat. Food came out pretty quickly after we ordered. There was a lot of confusion on delivery though since they have multiple parties sitting at 1 table and if they don't correct the table # for what is being input, it all just goes to 1 table which is what happened while we were there. We had 1 order of Uni shrimp I really wanted to try but our order was never put in. My kids loved the food so that was a winner for them. The not spicy looks unseasoned but I promise it has an amazing sauce at the bottom. I would def try this place again maybe just not when they're so busy.
