    Wontons in chili oil
    Minh T.

Was having a bad day and decided to take myself to some yummy food. I got here at 4:30 and it happened to be happy hour. What a great deal!! First off, all the employees here are super nice. The host that sat me, so kind. I sat at the bar, the bartender, Allison, rockstar!! Seriously, do whatever you can to sit at the bar with her. Allison took such great care of me. She's very friendly and very attentive. The food was yummy and so affordable at 40% off during happy hour. - Original xiao long bao: 10 pc. super juicy and the broth is so flavorful. Once you poke a hole and slurp the soup, dip in their amazing black vinegar and the best chili oil out there. This is better than Din Tai Fung. And I'm obsessed with DTF, I can't believe I'm cheating on DTF, but I found a new love. - Pork wontons in chili oil: god it's so good. The wontons were so plump and the chili oil sauce so savory and umami. - Fried rice with fried pork chop: this def felt sinful. I enjoyed this way more than I thought. I love Chinese fried pork chop and having it over fried rice felt like a no brainer. I thought the dish would be super heavy and I'd eat v little, I ended up eating half. It was just so enjoyable and not that heavy at all. Order this. I would go again and I'd even order the same dishes!! I loved it that much. I'm down to go with a friend so we can try more dishes. Everything after tax and tip was almost $40. And I have so much leftover, which is my favorite.

I come to Paradise quite often, and the food is consistently good. The radish pastry is highly recommended, but it tends to sell out by late afternoon, so I'd suggest ordering it early. The xiaolongbao is also a must-try. Be careful with the hot soup inside--using a spoon makes it much easier to enjoy. I'd also recommend asking the servers which sauce pairs best with it, as there's a traditional way to enjoy it. The restaurant is spacious and comfortable, with plenty of seating for larger parties. They also have round tables that are great for families or groups. One thing to note is that they sometimes keep guests waiting even when there appear to be quite a few tables available, possibly due to limited staffing. Overall, a comfortable spot with consistently good food and a great option for groups.

Service is great (thank you Allison)! As for food, I tried their signature dish which is like a xiao long bao sampler and their chicken wonton in chili oil. It was fun to try all the different flavors (cheese, kimchi, bbq pulled pork, truffle oil, crab meat w roe, original, Szechuan) but I wouldn't say any of them were spectacular. I like their chili oil in wonton with a dash of soy sauce, very yummy. I also got wintermelon tea which was a bit too sweet for me, but that is a personal preference. Unfortunately, like din tai fung, I think it's expensive for what it is.

TL:DR - Yum. Go eat Parking - busy mall parking lot. Packed almost always. Do your best Ambiance - bustling, lots of energy Service - very friendly, attentive Food - everything was great XLB - tasty. I love that the ginger isbkn the table. Many places skimp Pan fried buns - very good tofu appetizer - don't sleep in it. Seriously satisfying. Comfort dish Cucumber appetizer - must for some crunch in your life Sea bass in soy sauce. Tasty. Add ginger to make it even better Chicken soup with dumplings - great flavor, nice and light

SO many great tasing vegan options here; we had an amazing dining experience - authentic flavors, really nice staff and Lively ambiance. I would like to go back and taste so many more vegan options which I could not try during my first visit :)

Paradise Dynasty puts Din Tai Fung to shame it has so many great selections on the menu. They have a wide selection of Xiao Long Bau including their newest Birria Xiao Long Bau. The only negative thing is that their green beans are old beans meaning that they picked them too late off the bush. Haricots verts, or French green beans, should be nice and tender and delicious. These were stringy, dry, and mealy. The beans seemed like they were picked off the bush too late. Other than that, the service is great. The ambience is great. I'm glad we came during the time when it's not too busy still very delicious food let's see if the manager manager will make good on the beans. I've talked to the manager and they will take the green beans off the bill so they get a five star as far as I'm concerned.

Paradise Dynasty is known for their xiao long bao. One of their most popular items are their "specialty xiao long bao", which has 8 different flavors of the juicy soup dumplings. While I enjoyed the original, black truffle, crab roe, and szechuan flavors, the other flavors were really eccentric. Cheese xiao long bao had a little American cheese in it. BBQ pulled pork tasted like BBQ sauce. Garlic had a very strong garlic oil flavor. The dumpling skins were excellent and I loved the pork and abundant soup filling. The condiments (vinegar, soy, chili oil) at our table, however, were in pretty bad shape (sticky/dirty), which wasn't the best look. We also ordered their chili oil wontons, their shanghai pan fried bao, and their sweet and sour pork rib appetizer. These were also good, but nothing special. Overall, this was three stars for me because the eccentric things were too far out there. Everything else was okay to good and prices were on the higher end.

The best place for Xiao Long Bao of different flavors and top sauce and quick service with several enticing menu items make this restaurant one of the top choice for the discerning South Coast Plaza shoppers! This restaurant rocks compared to any other fancy restaurants in service, taste, attention to details, soup selections and the open, airy tall ceiling with excellent decor. Even their Chopsticks are awesome. The logical and well thought out menu and the Dim Sum style individual selection paper provided initially were somewhat daunting but the lady seated next to us explained how to navigate through the simple alphabetical orders of different styles of food totally satisfied my understanding! We ordered the top two Xiao Long Bao and were served almost immediately. The pork dish was fantastic. The soup came out as advertised Hot, Sour, perfectly balanced and savory with full of flavors. Five solid stars for everything. To my Mukbang Comrades; Go Forth and Charge into one of new favorites of OC for authentic Chinese Dim Sum foods. Just don't hesitate!

Paradise Dynasty is a Singaporean restaurant brand and is a part of the Paradise Group. This is the flagship US location for Paradise Dynasty and there is a second location at The Americana at Brand. Its sister restaurant, Le Shrimp Noodle Bar, is also a part of the Paradise Group. Visitors are encouraged to make reservations via OpenTable, but our party re-visited here on Wednesday night without a reservation and was able to get a table immediately. [Parking]: No issues finding available parking at South Coast Plaza on weekday evenings. [Service]: Service was not exactly efficient as our waiter was a bit slow and took longer than expected. [Menu]: The restaurant is best known for its Specialty Rainbow Xiao Long Bao (aka juicy pork dumplings). Recently, the restaurant collaborated with Burritos La Palma to create Birria Xiao Long Bao for a limited time. The menu is quite similar to Din Tai Fung's menu, but some dishes are missing (e.g. beef noodle soup) and some dishes can only be found at Paradise Dynasty (e.g. cute dessert baos). *** A1 Specialty Dynasty Xiao Long Bao (8 flavors - Signature Original, Szechuan, Garlic, Cheese, Kimchi, Crab Meat with Roe, BBQ Pulled Pork, Black Truffle - $20.75): This is the rainbow XLB sampler that almost all first-time visitors order and is not exactly a sharable dish. The staff provided everyone with a sheet stating the recommended order for eating each XLB. My general impression was that the cheese flavor had a particularly strong aftertaste. I liked the crab meat and the Szechuan XLB had just enough spice to numb the taste buds without overly spicy. To my surprise, the Kimchi XLB was actually spicier than the Szechuan version. Overall the XLBs tasted very experimental and were a mixed bag. Birria XLB (6 pieces - $7.99): The dipping sauce tasted like salsa with a sweet and vinegary aftertaste. It wasn't as bad as I had expected and was a solid A-tier XLB. H2. Taro Paste Xiao Long Bao (6 pieces - $7.50): Gooey taro filling with great flavor with the right level of sweetness. S-tier XLB. J6. Jasmine Tea (Hot): Pretty teapot, but the jasmine tea was brewed using one tea bag rather than loose tea leaves. F7. Fried Rice with Fried Pork Chop ($19.75): Excellent pork chop - not too greasy and the fried rice was cooked perfectly. S-tier dish. B1. Radish Pastry (3 pieces - $10.50): Ultra-flaky appetizer with a very mild flavor. Not an absolute must-order, but still a good dish. G6. Noodles with 'Dan Dan' Sauce (Spicy Sesame and Peanut - $12.50): Silky smooth noodles and not overly spicy. A very solid option. *** I think the signature rainbow XLB is a bit too experimental for my taste and I personally prefer their traditional dishes like Signature Original XLB, Taro Paste XLB, Fried Rice with Fried Pork Chop, and Dan Dan Noodles. Possibly 4-star on food, but going to knock off a star due to somewhat slow service and hefty price tags on most dishes.

The XLB was a really interesting experience because of all the different flavors and colors! I will say that there were some flavors I wasn't too fond of which was the only reason why I probably ordered it again but it's definitely fun to try. The fried rice was super moist and flavorful and definitely something I would get again. One thing though, is that when we got the package (ordered to-go) the vinegar spilled all over the boxes inside and the person helping us out did replace the bag, but did not wipe anything so everything was all wet when we took it out. We ended up spending a bunch of time wiping everything down before we actually got to enjoy and eat. It's not too big of a deal but definitely for a restaurant like Paradise Dynasty I would've thought their process and presentation would be a lot better.

Came through on Father's Day. Had a reservation because the wait gets crazy. Based out of Singapore. It was giving Din Tai Fung vibes. Soon as you walk in, the high ceilings and decor are straight fire. The staff is super sweet and welcoming too. Food check. Chili oil wontons are a smaller portion than DTF. But they taste super authentic. Rainbow soup dumplings were a whole vibe. Good, but maybe not the absolute BEST But that chicken soup? Literal perfection. It was the biggest surprise. The broth is so deep and out of this world. The texture is unmatched. Pork chop fried rice is another massive WIN. So much flavor. The panda lava buns are super cute. Good, but just a little too sweet for my taste. Only downside is the bathroom situation. There is no restroom inside. You gotta walk outside and downstairs in the mall. Kinda annoying, not gonna lie.

Made reservations for a party of 8 via OpenTable. My husband and I just celebrated getting married that morning, and I noted that in my reservations. Due to time conflicts, I kept changing the time of my reservation. But they were able to accommodate us when we arrived early. Because we had a large party, I already knew what to order. We placed our order in the paper slip. It look long for someone to come by and pick it up. We had to call someone to get it. The food comes out at different times. But everything was exceptional. The food was delicious! The food had good flavor and taste as was well seasoned. I love the texture of the beans we ordered, as well as the dandan noodles. It had a good bite and chew. It wasn't over cook or under cooked and the sauce has great umami flavor. One thing that was lacking was the derive. The only service we seem to receive was when we received our food. No one really came to check up on us or see if we needed drink refills or if we wanted to order anything else. And because we were celebrating our marriage, I did note that in the reservations, we didn't receive anything afterwards. Not even a small scoop of ice cream or mochi or however they do celebrations there. The ambiance is nice, with a laidback mellow feel. It wasn't as busy when we went for lunch cos it was on a weekday so I expected a lot from this place being how popular it is. Just disappointed we didn't get anything for our wedding celebration.

Paradise Dynasty is always such a good spot. I come here pretty often, especially for happy hour, and it's honestly a great deal. This time I ordered the Birria Xiao Long Bao from Burritos La Palma and it was so good. I love living in SoCal because we get fun fusion like Mexican food and Taiwanese food, and this was such a cool combo. The original Xiao Long Bao was also really good, as always. One of my favorites was the cold tofu. I like getting the crispy onion on the side so I can add more on top whenever I want. The ribs were also delicious, and the pork rib was super good too. Everything we ordered was really good. Highly recommend this place, especially if you come during happy hour.

How can I make a reservation???

    Do they have Happy hours?

Hi, I have seen Paradise Dynasty with postings on instagram saying they have Happy Hours and it reads like this:…

    Do they take cash?

I saw a sign last Friday saying they are going cashless soon, so you may want to call to find out if they still take cash on the day you plan to go.

How do I make a reservation?

They unfortunately don't do it on their website but can do on Open Table. They also accept reservations over the phone.

Can they handle a very large group of 70 people? Do they have banquet rooms?

I haven't seen any banquet rooms so you might want to give them a call and ask for private parties

    Make a reservation? Paradise dynasty?

Yes you should. That restaurant gets busy.

Do they use artificial or natural food coloring in the Specialty Xioa Long Bao?

I'm looking for vegetarian dim sum. Do the single flavor xiao long baos all come with pork? Does anyone know why "(kurobuta pork)" is written for all the flavors?

    Kurobuta is premium pork....

Hello! I have a severe allergy to msg. Do you use msg and if so can you still omit it in dishes that are prepared fresh?

All Chinese food use MSG and similar seasoning like chickens essence which contains no chicken substances. Rest assure you will have some kind of chemical seasoning in the dishes.

What is the happy hour time ? Is there a long waiting line?

Not at all. You can be seated immediately as long as you are there by 2:30pm. The line moves very, very quickly.

Can I take out with HH prices during HH?

Dine in only, and last time we attempted to make it for HH the wait was about 2 hours so we would not have made it in time...

Are they still doing happy hours 50% off?

Yes, the sign was still up in front of the restaurant as of last week.

Their xiao long bao is also really good and definitely comparable to Din Tai Fung and Paradise Dynasty. Everything tasted incredibly fresh, and the dumplings and wontons were so moist and flavorful. The beef roll is a MUST. Unlike some places where it can be dry, theirs had the perfect amount of sauce and was so good. Also get the lava egg yolk steamed buns. So soft, moist, fresh, and delicious. But surprisingly, one of the biggest standouts was their drinks. They use real tea, and their taro milk tea completely changed my mind about taro drinks.
