So popular but the wait wasn't too bad, it was like a 20 minute wait on a Saturday around 1pm. Once we got seated, you order from a picture menu with the server. I don't remember the last time I came here but I think it used to be carts but this is more efficient. We ordered the usual dim sum items, shrimp rolls, har gow, shu mai, chicken feet, soup dumplings, steam tofu skin roll, and pork ribs. The portion was big and we had left overs. Definitely cheaper here than San Diego. Hit the dim sum spot.

This review is mainly for their dim sum :) Dim sum is served everyday from 8:30am-3pm! Service was great during that time and everyone was friendly. It's nice to go on a weekday morning when there is barely anyone there which is what my husband and I did. Their selection is pretty good and everything tastes great but it can definitely add up on the bill. Overall, I think it is one of the better places to grab dim sum :)

We are back. Enjoying the yummy dim sum. We need to come back with a larger party so we can order more dishes. The team is working hard. Running around. Typical noisy dim sum vibe.

We came here on a whim and I'm glad we did. The food was hot, fresh and oh so delicious. The service was amazing. Poli was our server and she made the experience great.

Rating: 7.5/10 Authentic dimsum spot. We went here at 8:30am on Easter morning and it was poppin. They have everything here, and all dishes were authentic and solid. Would recommend!

One of my favorite places for dim sum. Only negative is the parking since it's in a high density area across from the landmark Asian Garden mall. We had a large party of 12 but food came out quickly amd wait staff was so pleasant! Everything was delicious and service was top notch, thanks to Iris! Everything we ordered was delicious: Shrimp noodle rice sheet rolls, fried shrimp ball, football, fried taro ball, almond tea soufflé (takes 40 minutes), spongy rice cake, steamed tofu skin roll, siu mai, chicken feet, beef tripe, pork ribs, sticky rice in lotus leaf, fried pork buns, Chinese broccoli with oyster sauce, braised honeycomb tripe with pork blood, and hot & sour soup.

Classic dim sum spot for any local. I went in a group of 4 on a Sunday around 10:15am and the wait was probably 10-15 minutes. The wait definitely got a lot longer closer to 11 though and I saw a lot of people waiting outside when I was leaving. You can join the Yelp waitlist online before getting there but you have to be within a 1 mile radius. Although the wait can get long, I would say the service is pretty efficient and they're quick getting people in and out Also, a good amount of items are ordered with the servers, but some items have to be ordered from the people pushing the carts around Siu mai: 5/5 this is always one of my favs and the pieces here were juicy and decently sized Har gow: 4/5 I like this dish but it wasn't anything crazy Soup dumplings: 4/5 I wish there was more soup and the dumpling wrapper was a little thinner but I liked the flavor Chinese broccoli w/ oyster sauce: 4/5 this was alright Shrimp rice noodle: 5/5 this is also one of my fav dim sum dishes

Came here on a Sunday at 9am. Location is on the 2nd floor. We used to frequent this place but have not been back for a few years. Mostly because the wait can get crazy if you arrive after 10:30 so we end up going to the Dim Sum company instead. Dragged myself out of bed to fight for myself in that parking lot. When we arrived we had to wait about 10 minutes. There were plenty of tables open but for bigger parties, which is understandable. When we got there we were told most of the items have to be ordered through the server with the exceptions of a few items. The servers were pretty attentive. It wasn't too crowded so they were able to pause a bit longer than they used to. We always joked that you'd have to bring your own water because it would be kind of hard to flag an employee down. But they're always super friendly. Due to a big open seating and the nature of its service, prepare for the hustle & bustle. Just an FYI if you have kids that are sensitive to loud noises & gets overstimulated. Fried seaweed roll: the regular filling (pork & shrimp) wrapped in seaweed and deep fried. My favorite. Fried seaweed gives it great umami. Pickled cucumber : very crunchy with spice Soup dumplings & Har Gow: admittedly, I did not try the soup dumplings but Har Gow was good. Different sauces were offered: sweet & sour, chili crunch, sriracha, & Chinese mustard (mustard must be requested) Leek Dumplings: this one surprised me. I've never had it before but it was very juicy and flavorful Salted Lava Bun: gooey salted egg yolk in the middle. The sweet & salty makes a great pair. The texture of the salted egg is grainy/sandy texture. This is its normal texture. Siu Mai: a staple. Big pieces and super juicy Sticky Rice: sticky and full of flavor. Great place but arrive early or be prepared to wait. We left around 10am and at that time there were 15 people waiting.

Variety including sui mai, fried seaweed roll, pork ribs, veggies, sausage bun, & 2 wet rolls (shrimp, pork).

    * Who: friend, partner, & I * What: random lunch * When: Thursday around noon * Why: random day off & craving dim sum * Space/Decor: located on the second floor. Parking could be a pain b/c it's always busy whenever I've gone. The space seems a bit cleaner & updated compared to the last time I went, with plenty of natural light coming from the windows, & an overall large space. * Service: standard. They were quick to seat us, they took our order fairly fast, & the food came out in good time. Not sure if the carts had stopped since the food came directly from the kitchen. They were also out of 1-2 drinks that we wanted. * Food: we got a variety of dishes, all of which were yum. The pricing is fair but can add up depending on how much you order. Everything was pretty much as expected. * Final Thoughts: authentic, semi-hidden dim sum spot that brings quality food without unnecessary frills at a good price. Would recommend & would definitely return. * Final Grade: B+ or 8.5/10

A staple in the Little Saigon community! My go-to spot for dim sum - the service is great & very efficient. A classic looking establishment and even though it's a huge place, it still gets packed for weekend brunches! My favorite dishes are definitely the xiu mai, banh cuon tom, chicken feet, & braised beef stomach! You can't go wrong with anything here though! Always hot & delicious!

Went again last weekend, and it didn't disappoint. It was Friday mid day, and there was no wait. Ordered the soup dumplings, har gow, sui mai, cucumber salad, bbq pork rolls and salt and pepper ribs. All so good. Always quick with service, and it wasn't too noisy. Will be back.

Ambiance: A Chinese restaurant that is considered an institution in the area. They follow the classic "rules" of Chinese restaurants, where you just do things right and meet expectations. 100 other places could be close or maybe even better, but they're gonna do it their way. Fish Maw Soup: It's not a palate cleanser, but it's something that warms the stomach for the meal. It's clean, there will be moments when all you eat is egg, and the flavor profile is best described as mute, but there's just enough saltiness to not feel like you're consuming thick water. French Style Beef: Tender cuts of meat, showered with salt and pepper, sauteed in a healthy amount of onions and mushrooms. You get the beefy flavor, the umami of the mushrooms, and the fragrance of the onion. Solid and staple. House special fish fillet and tofu: Here's the dirty secret of these types of Chinese restaurants. House special ______ is just battered with chili that comes with a sweet glaze. If you order more than 1 house special item, be ready for those items to taste the same. They're not gonna mess up whatever they're frying. It's just a question if you like their blend of spices to create the batter. Personally, I am a fan. Salted Egg Shrimp: It's deep fried shimp that allows you to eat it without peeling. Did they nail the salted egg flavor? Not really. Was it good? It's fine. Shrimp Fried Rice: This is probably one of the places where the fried rice didn't live up to expectations. The good news is, you get white rice anyway, so just use that, the food is flavorful enough anyway. Service: Classic Chinese restaurant service. You get what you ask for. Nothing more. Ambiance: Noisy, spacious, and generally active. Just like all the large party Chinese restaurants.

We usually go to the Seafood Cove in Westminster off Westminster Blvd across from Stater Bros, but for my mom's birthday she specifically requested dim sum for breakfast and they're known for it so we decided to give this location a try. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. When we first sat down, service was very quick and attentive. Honestly, it was almost so fast that I couldn't even gather my thoughts before someone was coming by to ask what we needed. But once you get the hang of how everything flows and how to order, it actually feels efficient and kind of impressive. It was a slower morning (we went mid morning on a Thursday), so I'm not sure if that's typical during the week, but it felt relaxed and not chaotic. Food wise, we enjoyed most of what we ordered. The standouts for us: * Shrimp noodle rolls * Gyozas * Har Gow * Fried shrimp wontons Everything was flavorful and came out fresh. The only slight letdown especially since we were excited for them was the soup dumplings. They just weren't our favorite. We've definitely had better elsewhere. I also wouldn't order the egg tarts again (and I love egg tarts, so that says a lot). The biggest downside was the bathrooms. I had to take my three year old in there, and I honestly didn't even want him touching anything. It felt dirty, like it hadn't been cleaned from the day before which was disappointing considering we were some of the first customers there that morning. That said, I would still go back. Now that I know what I'd reorder and what I'd skip, I'd love to explore more of the menu next time

I've only ever ordered shumai to go from here but it was nice to finally dine in. This restaurant shares the parking lot with a lot of businesses including Stater Bros. Parking can get a little tricky during peak hours. We still caught the tail end of Lunar NY decorations so it was festive in there. Our party if 5 got seated right away. Luckily they serve dimsum (in carts) until 3PM. New dimsum favorite is their pork and shrimp roll - shaped like an eggroll. We got about 12 items and steamed rice for the table. My parents said their shumai is one of the best they've had. Shrimp hargow and other dumplings were good. The fried chicken was delish, especially the bed of pickled veggies underneath. The chicken feet is tender and flavorful. The honey walnut shrimp was great. The custard buns were delicious even the day after. The servers were so nice. So many of them taking turns asking what else we needed. Don't forget to ask for their hot mustard and some red vinegar. Nothing fancy about this place but it's a great bang for your buck. Enjoyed our meal here.

Kevin, Tuân, and Trieu answered all our questions clearly and helped us achieve our dream wedding. I am Vietnamese, and my husband is not, so they made accommodations to find menu items that would serve a multicultural guest list. The prices were very fair and transparent, and the 9 course menu was delicious. White Palace also decorated the restaurant for us and provided meaningful special touches like a champagne tower, special effects for the first dance, and a decorated sweetheart table. The restaurant and their staff made us feel valued and made our wedding shine. While doing wedding research, other venues had hidden charges while White Palace was all inclusive and reasonable. My only suggestion is that they should slice thinner cake slices. They sliced large slices so some of my guests did not receive cake while the guests who got cake didn't finish theirs. I would gladly recommend White Palace to anyone who is planning a wedding.

The…read moredim sum at Seafood Cove2 is totally overrated and the crowd there made it very stressful so I used to come here, Seafood Paradise for dim sum in a relaxed atmosphere. In December 2023 my sister who lives in HB harbor claimed this resto was too far for her but finally decided to have a big Christmas Birthday party and invited 30, 40 people, the manager was not there and my usual server was not there either so I asked and was shocked at the news although I expected it, the new owner told me he had closed on the purchase that day and would change the name to White palace but he would keep the chef and the manager David but that was not the case. To me the best Chinese restaurants were Furiwa and Seafood Paradise. It was sad they failed to understand that w today economy dominated by social medias and if they do not follow the trend, they would be out of business, I told David the manager but he was so confused about what I was talking about. Bad restaurants that spent money on social medias thrived beyond comprehension. My sister ordered the usual wedding menu, 10 courses w lobster, steamed fish, etc..I knew immediately it was a new chef, the lobster was flavorless, almost every course was bland but many people I know have hay fever and with severe sneezing sometimes they lose their sense of taste on top of being born w less taste buds, it can be a curse to have too many taste buds as I was skinny all my life from not being able to enjoy eating till I started cruising when in the old days, cruise ship chefs were of Michelin caliber. My sister threw another big bash on Chinese/VN new year 2-10-2024, again 10 courses dinner and again everything was bland, there was not even enough salt in the food. I made no comment when asked bc everybody seemed to like it so who was I to say anything and I wanted to support the new owner, the service was great so that was a plus. I came by many times for dim sum and was disappointed the menu was limited, my favorite items were no longer offered. On 1-18-2026 my cousin had a big party, she is the Cai Luong singer and impresario, if my count was correct there were 20 tables, 200 attendants and many performers. Unfortunately for $60 to $75 pp, they could only offered 5 courses as they had to pay the performers. Needless to say, I could only eat the walnut shrimp and fried fish, the fried rice was not at all edible, what were they thinking? no salt, very little egg, I sure did not get fat!. I think 3 stars are generous as I was frustrated w the meal, I had no idea what the lead singer was singing/screaming about so loud in Saigonese! Lol! The dude was a VN version of Liberace!. I was there to keep up w long lost relatives, I sadly found out one had just died and I was not able to find out what happened bc the sound system was not functioning properly, it was blasting so loud, I was almost deaf in both ears! It was impossible to know what all the performers were saying. The manager if you read this please fix it, I have no idea how any wedding can take place w zero sound system unless it just went kaput on that one day. I'll tell my cousin to check on this before booking here again. I can't believe they also bought another restaurant on Edinger, Santa Ana, maybe it's just me but I don't like the all white chairs and table, I worked all my life in hospital and I'm not a fan of all white furniture, The old Seafood paradise had beautiful romantic looking pink flowers, table cloth and beautiful comfortable chairs. I'm glad they seem to be doing great, good for them, I'm not going back here but I plan to go to their 2nd resto. Unfortunately HB and Little Saigon do not have very good Chinese restaurants, I miss Hong Kong and all the 5 stars hotel ayce buffets in, I'm looking forward to my VN trip w all the good food unfortunately Yelp has no presence in VN. My camera always eats first, I have about 10,000 pictures of food in my IPhone from all my cruises and trips around the world, I enjoy looking and relive all my culinary experience. Pl come back for my future review of the White palace #2.

We don't come here for dim sum as much anymore since their second location opened, but I still think the dinner here is better. If you're looking for a solid spot for a family-style Chinese dinner, this place has stood the test of time for us.

Whenever I'm in Garden Grove, Korean and Vietnamese cuisine will always take precedence. However,…read moremy most recent trip pivoted from the norm, and Noodle Star became the destination. The end result? Reasonable prices, warm service, and very tasty food. Like so many Chinese restaurants, the name and theme is inherently confusing. Up until last year, the place was Harbor Garden and it's rebranded to Noodle Star ever since. The Chinese name ("川粵" aka "Chuan Yue") would imply there is a Sichuan + Cantonese component to the offerings, despite the words "teppanyaki" and handmade noodles (手工麵) noted on the exterior as well as on signs on the interior. Typically any restaurant that dabbles in multiple regional Chinese variations (Sichuan, Cantonese, Shanghainese, Lanzhou, etc.) is a huge flight risk. Surprisingly, it all worked out. All of my orders were from different regions of the country, starting with a Cantonese beef chow fun (乾炒牛河) that was delightfully smokey from the wok hei (#1) and the noodles and beef were silky and smooth. While the noodles aren't as wide as I would have liked, they were still 100% workable in the dish. The Taiwanese style popcorn chicken (鹽酥雞) was wonderfully fried and the chicken was still juicy on the inside. Their napa cabbage + shrimp + pork steamed dumplings (白菜豬肉蝦水餃) were pillowy soft and steamed perfectly. They were plump and not too doughy; which is very appropo for a northern Chinese dish. The biggest surprise may have come from the soup dumplings (小籠包), which had just the right amount of soup and a very delicate dumpling skin that was downright excellent. The service was kind, attentive, and very bilingual with Mandarin and English. Prices might feel high to non-Cali folks, but the spectrum is very much on the Socal average. (#2). Bathrooms were mostly clean and the seating options were plentiful; solid for large and small group action. Parking can be tough on the weekends since it's a strip mall. I already know that I'll be back. If I was able to order 4 regions and they all came out excellent (#3), I can only imagine how excellent the rest of the house special group of dishes will be. __________ (#1) "Essence of the wok" -- it's a thing. (#2) At $15-19 for most dishes. (#3) Did we get lucky?

The green beans were also aâmzing, fresh, bright green, and not oily at all. Simple but cooked perfectly. My favorite surprise was the potato salad. It was so special and actually my first time trying this style. The crispy shredded potatoes were crunchy and flavorful, really unique and tasty! Overall: good food, fresh ingredients, and great flavors. Definitely coming back to try more dishes!

There are SO many dim sum places in OC to choose from but I heard this place changed…read moreownership/name(?) and I wanted to try it out so I took my mom here. There wasn't anyone eating there when we went on a weekday morning so service was super quick! It's a huge space though so I'm sure it gets more rowdy on the weekends. We tried the classic dim sum dishes. The shumai was a bit dry for me but was still overall pretty good. The rice rolls with shrimp had a very good sauce and it was super addicting! The only one that disappointed us were the soup dumplings, which fell apart because they stuck to the bottom. Also there just wasn't very much soup in them to begin with. Both of our favs were the baby ribs, which were so soft and flavorful. The fried shrimp balls were also good and were made to order so they were super crispy and fresh! I really liked the chili oil here because it actually had a kick. For dessert, we ended off with their egg tarts that were crispy, sweet, and delicious!! I'd definitely come back because this is a lot better experience compared to waiting hours for some of the places in OC.

So the service here is still pretty atrocious in my opinion. So I don't really come in anymore…read more Maybe it's because I grew up with it and I'm in love with their dim sum. But their food is still great most of the time. I now just get to go and eat at home or eat somewhere else so I don't have to deal with their service. I like the new update and the modern look of the restaurant but I feel that it's taking away. It's warmth. It feels a little more clinic-y if that makes sense. I'll probably update again if anything changes or if a family member is dying to go here. I just get really upset thinking about how I have two aunts in my last example that we've gone ands server. Who's been there for ages treats you different based on I guess your tipping and to me that's a put off. He is also very crass, and his jokes are kind of gross. The owner does try and go around. But the last time I've gone, she kinda just sat there. My last experience while in the restaurant was that there were maybe four or five tables of people about 2 to 4 in each table. And this was after dim sum time so there are no carts going around. And even though their staff was pretty full service was so slow. The food was kind of extra greasy and it gave a lot of us. Bad stomach aches. I still debate how bad I want dim sum when I have to go here. But at least their dim sum is still great! I really hope that the place does turn around because when I drive by I see how empty it's gotten and it makes me sad that my favorite place is not doing as well. Cross fingers!

Tan Kimsu - Shrimp bonnets a little dry, but adequate. I would pass on the siu mai, dryish. Tofu skins quite delicious! Chicken feet very good.
