This review is long overdue. This restaurant used to be my favorite go to Chinese restaurant. The dim sum at Seafood Cove2 is totally overrated and the crowd there made it very stressful so I used to come here, Seafood Paradise for dim sum in a relaxed atmosphere. In December 2023 my sister who lives in HB harbor claimed this resto was too far for her but finally decided to have a big Christmas Birthday party and invited 30, 40 people, the manager was not there and my usual server was not there either so I asked and was shocked at the news although I expected it, the new owner told me he had closed on the purchase that day and would change the name to White palace but he would keep the chef and the manager David but that was not the case. To me the best Chinese restaurants were Furiwa and Seafood Paradise. It was sad they failed to understand that w today economy dominated by social medias and if they do not follow the trend, they would be out of business, I told David the manager but he was so confused about what I was talking about. Bad restaurants that spent money on social medias thrived beyond comprehension. My sister ordered the usual wedding menu, 10 courses w lobster, steamed fish, etc..I knew immediately it was a new chef, the lobster was flavorless, almost every course was bland but many people I know have hay fever and with severe sneezing sometimes they lose their sense of taste on top of being born w less taste buds, it can be a curse to have too many taste buds as I was skinny all my life from not being able to enjoy eating till I started cruising when in the old days, cruise ship chefs were of Michelin caliber. My sister threw another big bash on Chinese/VN new year 2-10-2024, again 10 courses dinner and again everything was bland, there was not even enough salt in the food. I made no comment when asked bc everybody seemed to like it so who was I to say anything and I wanted to support the new owner, the service was great so that was a plus. I came by many times for dim sum and was disappointed the menu was limited, my favorite items were no longer offered. On 1-18-2026 my cousin had a big party, she is the Cai Luong singer and impresario, if my count was correct there were 20 tables, 200 attendants and many performers. Unfortunately for $60 to $75 pp, they could only offered 5 courses as they had to pay the performers. Needless to say, I could only eat the walnut shrimp and fried fish, the fried rice was not at all edible, what were they thinking? no salt, very little egg, I sure did not get fat!. I think 3 stars are generous as I was frustrated w the meal, I had no idea what the lead singer was singing/screaming about so loud in Saigonese! Lol! The dude was a VN version of Liberace!. I was there to keep up w long lost relatives, I sadly found out one had just died and I was not able to find out what happened bc the sound system was not functioning properly, it was blasting so loud, I was almost deaf in both ears! It was impossible to know what all the performers were saying. The manager if you read this please fix it, I have no idea how any wedding can take place w zero sound system unless it just went kaput on that one day. I'll tell my cousin to check on this before booking here again. I can't believe they also bought another restaurant on Edinger, Santa Ana, maybe it's just me but I don't like the all white chairs and table, I worked all my life in hospital and I'm not a fan of all white furniture, The old Seafood paradise had beautiful romantic looking pink flowers, table cloth and beautiful comfortable chairs. I'm glad they seem to be doing great, good for them, I'm not going back here but I plan to go to their 2nd resto. Unfortunately HB and Little Saigon do not have very good Chinese restaurants, I miss Hong Kong and all the 5 stars hotel ayce buffets in, I'm looking forward to my VN trip w all the good food unfortunately Yelp has no presence in VN. My camera always eats first, I have about 10,000 pictures of food in my IPhone from all my cruises and trips around the world, I enjoy looking and relive all my culinary experience. Pl come back for my future review of the White palace #2.

Good service, but as for food taste, I would say it's average. This used to be the Seafood World location. My parents liked the fried items as it was freshly fried. We ordered a lot of dishes to try and nothing stood out for me... hence average. They currently have a 10% off sale on Monday- Friday. We went on Prez Day and I was surprised they offered the discount. That was nice and I just increase the tip. Easy parking. Comfortable space as it is a wedding venue also.

My gf and I decided to try something new today other than Seafood Cove. I don't remember how expensive seafood cove is but white Palace is pretty expensive. We only spent $40 for five items. It was an interesting place as it was also a wedding venue at night. Pretty smart though if you ask me because at least are utilizing the morning times for dim sum Service wise was very fast there wasn't that many people and all the cart aunties came flocking in. They're all really nice though and I got to book Cantonese with him Flavor wise it was actually pretty good. We got: - Xiu Mai - Pretty solid and lots of flavor. 5/5 - Ha Cheurng / Shrimp Roll - I liked it a lot as it was a THICC BOI but my gf prefers the thinner rice rice layer. 5/5 - Cha Siu Bao / BBQ Pork Bun - 3/5 only because it was cold but filling was solid. Well air fry these later for a snack - Tripe - Standard and pretty tender! 4/5 - Shurn Jok Guurn/ Tofu Skin Wrapped thingy - It actually had a beef filling rather than a mushroom filling. 4/5 Overall, if I didn't want wait in line and I had a big party with me I wouldn't mind coming here. Parking is better than Seafood Cove madness and there are hella tables available. Bathrooms are very clean as well!

When you come on a prime Saturday morning during a holiday weekend, and there's only 4-5 occupied tables and the cart ladies loitering about, that's a red flag. We have gone to all the best dim sum places both locally in OC and the epicenter in Monterey Park. But we just wanted something local to a family menber's house a street away and there were 11 of us. Wow, the carts came out hawking their wares with a vengeance. Nothing was over cooked or mushy/oversteamed (except for the chicken feet and tofu skin pork) as other reviewers declared, but there was a lack of flavor and depth that left us wanting more. I haven't had dim sum in at least a year and would've been happy with a B. But it's a C- for me and the tables. We could barely finish what we chose. The temperature of all were definitely on the lukewarm side as if they were on the cart for quite awhile waiting for patrons. I'm sure they want events to keep their big banquet space operating, so the dim sum is an afterthought. But they need to step up their kitchen to compete with the plethora of places within driving distance. This place was not memorable and barely tolerable, especially for the price points.

We had our wedding reception party here, and it was absolutely perfect from start to finish! I highly recommend this venue, the place was stunning, very clean, and elegantly decorated, complete with a beautiful flower photo backdrop. The staff were incredibly professional, kind, and attentive to every detail. The coordinator manager, Mr. Trieu, was especially kind and patient. We had a few meetings before the party date, and I really appreciated how he took the time to help us plan everything and answer all of our questions. On our big day, the staff helped set up everything included decorations, tables, wine, gifts, and more since we didn't have time to do it ourselves. The food was delicious and even more affordable than other venues, and they provided free appetizers too! We received so many compliments about the food after the party. We were so happy and couldn't have asked for a better experience. It truly made our wedding unforgettable! Highly recommend!

This time i came here for birthday party . The restaurant is completely remodeled, it is very nice and clean. We have fried rice, fried fish with sauce, shrimp with noodles . Perking duck, Veggies with oyster sauce, fish maw soup food was good , only fish maw soup a little bit bland of flavor . The service was quick, and the staff are friendly.

Cute little dim sum place Push carts with all the essentials Quality was ok. The porridge was bland and had to ask for salt. The star dish was the sticky rice wrapped in banana leaf :) Portions were good Service was friendly Parking was not bad Overall not bad. Thanks!

The service is prompt but the food quality was bad at White Palace. Parking is also tight and not the easiest. I visited with my mom on a Sunday morning dim sum lunch. The place wasn't that packed and the restaurant had just opened. Oddly, the food was either tepid, or actually frozen inside, or overcooked. There was no in-between. Every steamed items were basically overcooked and blasted in the basket. So shumai, har-gow and rice crepes all fell apart. The inside part were all overcooked -- think chewy dry shrimp and tough shumai meat sans skin. The congee was also really disappointing. It was tepid and had no duck eggs or anything in it. It was just spoonful of dry shredded chicken. I am hopeful I can find a better dim sum place than this in the future. For the 7 plates of food we ordered, the bill came to $80+ w/o tip. Definitely not worth it in my opinion. Suggestions are welcome.

Everything on the menu was delicious! Our guests loved every dish. Especially the steamed fish

My husband and I couldn't be more happy to have chosen White Palace for our wedding venue. The staff/coordinators are very friendly and accommodating. Many things were included that helped take some load off our shoulders. Our guests enjoyed every dish as everything was cooked perfectly. Such a beautiful and large place. Everything was decorated tastefully.

On one of the mornings I craved dim sum, the places I knew had long waits. Then I came across this one! I'm surprised not many people know about this place, but it is also a rebrand from Seafood World. We were able to order off the menu as well as from the carts. I LOVED their chrysanthemum tea! The food was good, but definitely missing some of my go-to items I would usually get. Nonetheless, it wasn't too busy and service was pretty quick. I'd come back to try again!

Weekend dim sum is on point. Items are large and good quality. Prices are reasonable considering it's 2026.

This review is specifically for takeout, but honestly, even the takeout holds up on its own. The shu mai are thick, juicy, and packed with larger pieces of pork and shrimp, which I love. You actually get some texture and substantial bites of meat and seafood rather than the overly processed filling you sometimes find elsewhere. The spare ribs are another favourite. They're tender, flavourful, and perfectly seasoned without being overly salty or heavy. And I have to mention the satay. I'm not sure if they make it in-house or use a specific brand, but whatever they're doing, it's one of the best satays I've had and better than pretty much any store-bought brand I've tried and better than a lot of what I've had at other restaurants.

When we arrived there was a moderate amount of people waiting but wait wasn't as long as I thought it would be! We waited about 15 min for a party of 6 at 10 am on a Sunday. The inside was banquet style restaurant with a lot of seating and tables, so it makes sense that the wait wasn't terribly long. The service is friendly, a lot of younger staff. Most of the dim sum is ordered from the menu, only the steamed noodles are ordered from the cart. I do miss the cart and being able to see and choose what we wanted. The food came out very fast and was very fresh! Everything tasted amazing. I loved the turnip cake, football, shui mai, and chicken feet the most! But it was all delicious. It definitely hit the dim sum cravings.

The service was great. They gave us plastic utensils for the kids. And also cups for the kids (styrofoam cups since the kids are messy and tend to drop things) Overall, it's a bit dirty. There wasn't anyone eating there when we went on a weekday morning so service was super quick! It's a huge space though so I'm sure it gets more rowdy on the weekends. The only one that disappointed us were the soup dumplings, which fell apart because they stuck to the bottom. Also there just wasn't very much soup in them to begin with. Both of our favs were the baby ribs, which were so soft and flavorful. The fried shrimp balls were also good and were made to order so they were super crispy and fresh! I really liked the chili oil here because it actually had a kick. For dessert, we ended off with their egg tarts that were crispy, sweet, and delicious!! I like the new update and the modern look of the restaurant but I feel that it's taking away. It's warmth. It feels a little more clinic-y if that makes sense. I'll probably update again if anything changes or if a family member is dying to go here. I just get really upset thinking about how I have two aunts in my last example that we've gone ands server. Who's been there for ages treats you different based on I guess your tipping and to me that's a put off. He is also very crass, and his jokes are kind of gross. The owner does try and go around. But the last time I've gone, she kinda just sat there. My last experience while in the restaurant was that there were maybe four or five tables of people about 2 to 4 in each table. And this was after dim sum time so there are no carts going around. And even though their staff was pretty full service was so slow. The food was kind of extra greasy and it gave a lot of us. Bad stomach aches. I still debate how bad I want dim sum when I have to go here. But at least their dim sum is still great! I really hope that the place does turn around because when I drive by I see how empty it's gotten and it makes me sad that my favorite place is not doing as well. Cross fingers!
