COCKROACH COCKROACH COCKROACH TLDR: - COCKROACH & FLY -- management did not care - horrible service from management - servers are kind About 20 minutes into eating, we noticed a cockroach submerged in the soy sauce jar. We instantly notified a worker, and she simply switched the soy sauce jar. They completely dismissed the health violation. Please keep in mind, we all used the soy sauce. If one soy sauce jar has a cockroach, the entire batch of soy sauce is contaminated. There's no way a cockroach that big could squeeze into that jar, so it was most likely from the larger batch of soy sauce that was poured into each jar. We later looked back at a picture taken at the beginning of the meal and noticed the cockroach at the top of the bottle. We complained to someone from management, and they brushed off the cockroach issue. We do not know how many people consumed cockroach-infused soy sauce, but the soy sauce was running low by the time we used it. They didn't offer any sort of reimbursement until we continued to explain the severity of the situation. To make matters worse, our water also had a fly in it. At the end of our meal, I asked to speak to the manager because a 10% comp does not nearly make up for everyone in my party consuming cockroach-infused soy sauce. The manager was extremely dismissive and rude. He said my family ordered a lot of food and that he didn't know about the cockroach. That is exactly the issue. We ordered a lot of food before noticing the cockroach and fly. We used a large amount of soy sauce and had to throw out everything on our plates once we found the cockroach. He asked me what I wanted him to do, which again was extremely unprofessional. He said 10% off and walked away. We all lost our appetite, but it was my grandma's birthday, and we wanted to celebrate her. We tried to make the most out of a horrible situation, but the lack of accountability for a serious health concern is something we cannot look past.

COACKROACHES AND VERMIN INFESTATION WARNING if you decide to eat here, make sure to check the food, soy sauce, and everything. we found a cockroach in our soy sauce bottle after everyone has used it. when we told them, they brushed it off and would not offer any compensation. the service and manager here is terrible. roach aside, the food tasted stale. this place is obviously very unsanitary and the food and service do not help. would not come here again.

Treated my friend for his birthday on Sunday late morning and we were seated right away. I was craving for the fried calamari but was disappointed with it. They were cut into strips and very chewy. I wouldn't recommend it. Their fried thin noodles were delicious. It had a smoked sesame flavor. The shumai, hargow and egg rolls were ordinary. The Chinese broccoli leaves was overcooked but the stalks were just right. My friend really enjoyed the chicken feet which he said was very tender. He also liked the liver. The sweet white rice cake was a good palate cleanser. We had a total of 8 dishes and the bill amounted to $120 with taxes and tip. There was plenty of leftover. I probably would have opted for an ayce buffet with crab legs for that price.

I have rated this Chinese restaurant many times and I was never disappointed. This review is only on the food, not the Dim sum part and not on the night club either even though I'll mention it. 1) This restaurant is the only one besides the Furiwa that went out of business, that has fried noodle (chow mein not lo mein) they really fry the noodle, it was crispy and flavorful, other restaurants really cut corners and put some seafood cooked in brown sauce thrown over noodles that were from a can out of a factory, an absolute joke. I had combination chow mein cooked to perfection w shirimp, chicken and beef. 2) Their fried chicken wings were so delicious, you can order w salt and pepper, ginger or butter, I chose butter which is the same special sauce on lobster, it was saucy, finger licking good, enjoy this w rice, a perfect meal, a very generous portion. 3) I had on other occasion Peking pork chops, delicious too 4) Their lobster is always about $1 cheaper per lb than Capital seafood across the street. The Dim sum was a disaster but I'm willing to give them another chance to see if I can raise it to 4 stars. They also have a nice stage but no Big HD screen for projection of slide show. Week ends they have a live band, it becomes a night club and most Vietnamese love dancing, not us, we both have 2 left feet! LOL! In the old days, this was the 1st Chinese restaurant in Little Saigon, there usually was a 40 minutes wait for a table. I recommend my sister to have her next bash here, it's a very relaxing atmosphere, nice ambiance, nice live band playing French oldies that the VN love, what else can she ask for but if she prefers lunch there won't be a band, that's not saying she can't pay for one to entertain the guests, she can afford it. So this restaurant w Chinese Chefs from VN is 4.5 stars, it's quite authentic Chinese food w flambé cooking, underrated but highly recommended.

This is our family's go to for dim sum! If it's your birthday we going here! The owner is so nice! The waiters know us. And food is always on point! We even ask for custom foods such as steamed rice roll with bbq pork inside instead of shrimp and they'll make it for you. The place is always busy, the staff is really helpful.

Review 84/365 Day Challenge This is my 3rd time coming here w my family & friend family for brunch. Big group on 07.06.25 We were seated within right away. Lots of majority known authentic dim sum were available and more. Service was fast and associates were friendly. Don't get discouraged w them non speaking English with some attendant going around with the dim sum cart. Dim sum is fresh & served hot. The cafe su da aka Vietnamese coffee is legit n good. Highly recommended. They sell live lobsters & crab. They have a big tank visible in dining area to see. It's a Chinese Vietnamese seafood restaurant. Spacious with lots of seatings. Located in the same plaza as Stater bros. Lots of parking available.

hairs, stains, and smelly are my biggest take aways from our recent visit. TBH - We only came here because seafood cove 2 had a two hour wait and we were hangry. Parking is ample due to the big lot, but it still gets pretty busy. We were seated immediately upon entering. However, once seated we found hairs on two plates and stain dirty tea cups. Giving them the benefit of the doubt, We asked for new dishware and proceed to order. The chicken feet had an off putting smell and color was really dark. Something seemed off, but we will circle back to this. My parents order the tripe dish and with it came with extra protein.. in the form of strands of hair. At this point - we were done, but food was order so tried to power through with it. A choice we will soon regret. Following this horrible breakfast was runs to the toilet. Mind you my dad has a stomach made of steel. He can and has eaten anything and even he was nauseous and running to the toilet for his life. safe to say, we will never be back. I'll wait hours if it means clean, fresh, good food. Unfortunately, that is not the standard here. note: they did comp the tripe dish due to the hair. a small compensation for the pain that followed.

It's been a good while since we've visited this local favorite for dim sum in Westminster. Seafood Paradise definitely gave the dining room a nice facelift and the place looks much brighter with the light tiles and new lighting. I have to admit, I do miss the burgundy carpeting... it just gave it that classic look. As for the selections, I was a bit disappointed that they didn't have the fried tofu any more and the shiny char-siu bao's didn't seem as moist and airy as before. Overall, it was still a pleasant visit and the dim sum was still quite good.

I came here for a party celebration. The set menu had a mix of different Chinese favorites. The food is on the greasy side, as expected for Chinese food. Flavors were average and service was steady. Plenty of parking. Please come and create your own adventure.

Okay wow! I really forgot how good this place was. I wouldn't normally recommend any yumcha/dim sum from Orange County, but the OC has stepped its game up just a tiny, tiny smidge. It was pretty palatable here and the service was particular awesome. A good amount of workers here speak English so that alone is pretty sweet if you don't speak Chinese or Vietnamese too well and that makes you get nervous coming to certain restaurants. I ordered the basics and the siu mai was tasting pretty fresh. Soft, meaty, with big pieces of shrimp inside. My least favorite item was the banh cuon (rice rolls). It was really hot coming out but the texture was really nice.

    Ellie N.

Very decent quality dimsum place. I like their pork ribs, fried turnip cake and dumplings. They fry the turnip on the spot for you so it can't get more fresh than that.

Bustling dim sum restaurant on the weekends. There's usually a wait for large groups of 6 or more. There were only 4 of us so we were seated right away. I love dim sum places where they still push the carts around. The ladies were all very helpful. If we tell them what we are looking for and they don't have it in their cart, they will go hunt it down for us too. Service is quick. We were seated and immediately someone came over to ask us what tea we would like. Carts are moving up and down the aisles and everyone seems happy working there. I've been going to this place for years and it seems like their quality and food have improved since the last visit.

Our server even brought the lobster out for a quick photo op before it was taken back to be prepared, which made the night feel a little more special. We ended up with around 12 main entrees plus some drinks, and the total was surprisingly affordable for the amount of food we ordered. Definitely a solid spot for group dinners and celebrations. Only downside is parking can be a bit tricky, especially on a busy weekend night, so plan a little extra time for that. Overall, would absolutely come back!

Kevin, Tuân, and Trieu answered all our questions clearly and helped us achieve our dream wedding. I am Vietnamese, and my husband is not, so they made accommodations to find menu items that would serve a multicultural guest list. White Palace also decorated the restaurant for us and provided meaningful special touches like a champagne tower, special effects for the first dance, and a decorated sweetheart table. The restaurant and their staff made us feel valued and made our wedding shine. While doing wedding research, other venues had hidden charges while White Palace was all inclusive and reasonable. My only suggestion is that they should slice thinner cake slices. They sliced large slices so some of my guests did not receive cake while the guests who got cake didn't finish theirs. I would gladly recommend White Palace to anyone who is planning a wedding.

The…read moredim sum at Seafood Cove2 is totally overrated and the crowd there made it very stressful so I used to come here, Seafood Paradise for dim sum in a relaxed atmosphere. In December 2023 my sister who lives in HB harbor claimed this resto was too far for her but finally decided to have a big Christmas Birthday party and invited 30, 40 people, the manager was not there and my usual server was not there either so I asked and was shocked at the news although I expected it, the new owner told me he had closed on the purchase that day and would change the name to White palace but he would keep the chef and the manager David but that was not the case. To me the best Chinese restaurants were Furiwa and Seafood Paradise. It was sad they failed to understand that w today economy dominated by social medias and if they do not follow the trend, they would be out of business, I told David the manager but he was so confused about what I was talking about. Bad restaurants that spent money on social medias thrived beyond comprehension. My sister ordered the usual wedding menu, 10 courses w lobster, steamed fish, etc..I knew immediately it was a new chef, the lobster was flavorless, almost every course was bland but many people I know have hay fever and with severe sneezing sometimes they lose their sense of taste on top of being born w less taste buds, it can be a curse to have too many taste buds as I was skinny all my life from not being able to enjoy eating till I started cruising when in the old days, cruise ship chefs were of Michelin caliber. My sister threw another big bash on Chinese/VN new year 2-10-2024, again 10 courses dinner and again everything was bland, there was not even enough salt in the food. I made no comment when asked bc everybody seemed to like it so who was I to say anything and I wanted to support the new owner, the service was great so that was a plus. I came by many times for dim sum and was disappointed the menu was limited, my favorite items were no longer offered. On 1-18-2026 my cousin had a big party, she is the Cai Luong singer and impresario, if my count was correct there were 20 tables, 200 attendants and many performers. Unfortunately for $60 to $75 pp, they could only offered 5 courses as they had to pay the performers. Needless to say, I could only eat the walnut shrimp and fried fish, the fried rice was not at all edible, what were they thinking? no salt, very little egg, I sure did not get fat!. I think 3 stars are generous as I was frustrated w the meal, I had no idea what the lead singer was singing/screaming about so loud in Saigonese! Lol! The dude was a VN version of Liberace!. I was there to keep up w long lost relatives, I sadly found out one had just died and I was not able to find out what happened bc the sound system was not functioning properly, it was blasting so loud, I was almost deaf in both ears! It was impossible to know what all the performers were saying. The manager if you read this please fix it, I have no idea how any wedding can take place w zero sound system unless it just went kaput on that one day. I'll tell my cousin to check on this before booking here again. I can't believe they also bought another restaurant on Edinger, Santa Ana, maybe it's just me but I don't like the all white chairs and table, I worked all my life in hospital and I'm not a fan of all white furniture, The old Seafood paradise had beautiful romantic looking pink flowers, table cloth and beautiful comfortable chairs. I'm glad they seem to be doing great, good for them, I'm not going back here but I plan to go to their 2nd resto. Unfortunately HB and Little Saigon do not have very good Chinese restaurants, I miss Hong Kong and all the 5 stars hotel ayce buffets in, I'm looking forward to my VN trip w all the good food unfortunately Yelp has no presence in VN. My camera always eats first, I have about 10,000 pictures of food in my IPhone from all my cruises and trips around the world, I enjoy looking and relive all my culinary experience. Pl come back for my future review of the White palace #2.

Whenever I'm in Garden Grove, Korean and Vietnamese cuisine will always take precedence. However,…read moremy most recent trip pivoted from the norm, and Noodle Star became the destination. The end result? Reasonable prices, warm service, and very tasty food. Like so many Chinese restaurants, the name and theme is inherently confusing. Up until last year, the place was Harbor Garden and it's rebranded to Noodle Star ever since. The Chinese name ("川粵" aka "Chuan Yue") would imply there is a Sichuan + Cantonese component to the offerings, despite the words "teppanyaki" and handmade noodles (手工麵) noted on the exterior as well as on signs on the interior. Typically any restaurant that dabbles in multiple regional Chinese variations (Sichuan, Cantonese, Shanghainese, Lanzhou, etc.) is a huge flight risk. Surprisingly, it all worked out. All of my orders were from different regions of the country, starting with a Cantonese beef chow fun (乾炒牛河) that was delightfully smokey from the wok hei (#1) and the noodles and beef were silky and smooth. While the noodles aren't as wide as I would have liked, they were still 100% workable in the dish. The Taiwanese style popcorn chicken (鹽酥雞) was wonderfully fried and the chicken was still juicy on the inside. Their napa cabbage + shrimp + pork steamed dumplings (白菜豬肉蝦水餃) were pillowy soft and steamed perfectly. They were plump and not too doughy; which is very appropo for a northern Chinese dish. The biggest surprise may have come from the soup dumplings (小籠包), which had just the right amount of soup and a very delicate dumpling skin that was downright excellent. The service was kind, attentive, and very bilingual with Mandarin and English. Prices might feel high to non-Cali folks, but the spectrum is very much on the Socal average. (#2). Bathrooms were mostly clean and the seating options were plentiful; solid for large and small group action. Parking can be tough on the weekends since it's a strip mall. I already know that I'll be back. If I was able to order 4 regions and they all came out excellent (#3), I can only imagine how excellent the rest of the house special group of dishes will be. __________ (#1) "Essence of the wok" -- it's a thing. (#2) At $15-19 for most dishes. (#3) Did we get lucky?

The green beans were also aâmzing, fresh, bright green, and not oily at all. Simple but cooked perfectly. My favorite surprise was the potato salad. It was so special and actually my first time trying this style. The crispy shredded potatoes were crunchy and flavorful, really unique and tasty! Overall: good food, fresh ingredients, and great flavors. Definitely coming back to try more dishes!

There are SO many dim sum places in OC to choose from but I heard this place changed…read moreownership/name(?) and I wanted to try it out so I took my mom here. There wasn't anyone eating there when we went on a weekday morning so service was super quick! It's a huge space though so I'm sure it gets more rowdy on the weekends. We tried the classic dim sum dishes. The shumai was a bit dry for me but was still overall pretty good. The rice rolls with shrimp had a very good sauce and it was super addicting! The only one that disappointed us were the soup dumplings, which fell apart because they stuck to the bottom. Also there just wasn't very much soup in them to begin with. Both of our favs were the baby ribs, which were so soft and flavorful. The fried shrimp balls were also good and were made to order so they were super crispy and fresh! I really liked the chili oil here because it actually had a kick. For dessert, we ended off with their egg tarts that were crispy, sweet, and delicious!! I'd definitely come back because this is a lot better experience compared to waiting hours for some of the places in OC.

So the service here is still pretty atrocious in my opinion. So I don't really come in anymore…read more Maybe it's because I grew up with it and I'm in love with their dim sum. But their food is still great most of the time. I now just get to go and eat at home or eat somewhere else so I don't have to deal with their service. I like the new update and the modern look of the restaurant but I feel that it's taking away. It's warmth. It feels a little more clinic-y if that makes sense. I'll probably update again if anything changes or if a family member is dying to go here. I just get really upset thinking about how I have two aunts in my last example that we've gone ands server. Who's been there for ages treats you different based on I guess your tipping and to me that's a put off. He is also very crass, and his jokes are kind of gross. The owner does try and go around. But the last time I've gone, she kinda just sat there. My last experience while in the restaurant was that there were maybe four or five tables of people about 2 to 4 in each table. And this was after dim sum time so there are no carts going around. And even though their staff was pretty full service was so slow. The food was kind of extra greasy and it gave a lot of us. Bad stomach aches. I still debate how bad I want dim sum when I have to go here. But at least their dim sum is still great! I really hope that the place does turn around because when I drive by I see how empty it's gotten and it makes me sad that my favorite place is not doing as well. Cross fingers!

Tan Kimsu - Shrimp bonnets a little dry, but adequate. I would pass on the siu mai, dryish. Tofu skins quite delicious! Chicken feet very good.
