Still celebrating Lunar New Year the best way I know how- with dim sum and all the good fortune vibes. The Dim Sum Co is a true hidden gem that is perfect for getting some delicious treats for Lunar New Year. Located inside the My Thuan supermarket in Westminster, this spot offers a fast casual experience with their take out dim sum. There's actually no sit down dining and one has to place their order outside at the side of the market. Their dim sum menu consists a lot of the classic dim sum dishes. For my visit here I chose to get their Phoenix Claws (Chân gà) ($4.79), Egg Tarts (Bánh trứng nướng) ($4.79), Lotus Sticky Rice (Xôi lá sen) ($5.39) and Egg Rolls (Chả giò) ($2.99). Everything was fresh and flavorful. My favorites were the Egg Tarts and the Egg Rolls. One can't go wrong with crispy Vietnamese egg rolls. The Dim Sum definitely knows how to make a good egg roll. The Egg Tarts had perfectly flaky crust and a creamy, sweet center. This spot made for a great food stop in Westminster. I love how easy and quick it was to get some authentic and tasty dim sum! It's a no frills window on the side of My Thuan market, plan for takeaway and eat in your car or at home. I just wanted a snack so I got an order(4 pieces) of shu mai. They were hot, fresh and very tasty. They do not skimp on the pork and shrimp, and were very filling! I'll be back to try the other items. read more

It has just enough mushroom that the flavor is there, and the ratio of shrimp to pork is perfect! I just came back a few days ago just to get a bunch of the siu mai alone. The crispy pork belly was also really delicious! It was quite a generous portion for the price and came with rice, pickled veggies, and a soup. I could skip out on the fried shrimp balls. They were okay but nothing special about them. There's a lot more things I want to try on their menu, but I'd give this place 5 stars even if they only served their siu mai!! I love it!! read more

The taro puff is a little bland compared to other places- or just had a tiny amount of pork inside. It could be improved with more ingredients like cilantro or mushrooms. The turnip cake is also so-so but it is really good after being in the air-fryer and a dash of soy sauce and chilli oil. My favourite thing to get is the century egg and pork congee. They give a generous amount and I like that it is topped off with ginger. The only downside would be the parking during lunch hours. It's best to arrive before noon. There can also be quite a long line of people waiting for food after they've ordered. So it's always a good idea to order online ahead of time! read more

We love Dim Sum Co! It's our go-to spot whenever we're craving dim sum without the long wait. It's located on the side of My Thuan Supermarket, but they have an outdoor order and pickup area so you don't actually have to go inside the market. There's a single line to order then you just wait for your number to be called. There's no seating, so it's takeout only. You can also order online for pick up! So this was by far the worse Vietnamese experience I've had and I'm Vietnamese. The worse customer service ever especially to the girl who was handing out food today at 11. Berating customers, acting with extreme attitude. Non existent customer service and A blatant disrespect is insane. it frankly hurts to see older Asian women get berated and completely disrespected when all they need it to pick up their order. They have a full kitchen making the dim sum and you order at the window and wait for it. I love that it's all fresh. Hubs said that taking the price point into consideration, these were pretty good but he felt that they were lacking a little something. Price is cheap like 40% off. We got the following to go: Rice Noodle Rolls with shrimp - we felt the skin was a bit thick Bean Curd Roll- We couldn't tell what kind of filling it was, but it was ok Pork & Shrimp Dumplings - these were ok. Today's adventure led us to this place and what a solid find! Service was great for what basically is a walk up type window. There are no seating areas so everything is a to-go order. It can get crowded immediately, but luckily the food itself is quick to be served. Nothing special about the ambiance of the place. There is no indoor seating and you never step one foot inside as all provided service (taking your order and handing you your food to go) is provided to you as you wait outside. The food: Very good. They clearly have been serving the same high quality food for some time now that it's just second nature. You may not like how some things may taste, but for the most part I was very satisfied with the portion size and price value. The reason why I didn't give this place 5 stars was because they forgot the sauce to my shrimp noodles and only provided a single packet of soy sauce for all of what I ordered. Affordable and convenient takeout spot for dim sum! The shu mai and har gow were both large and had a good amount of shrimp in it. I also enjoyed the shrimp rice rolls (cheung fun). The Vietnamese coffee was also a standout, it was only $3.50 and it was strong and flavorful. I would skip the lotus wrapped sticky rice next time, since it was mostly rice. I also thought the custard bun was too eggy and the filling was also very runny and spilled everywhere. It is attached to the My Thuan market, and parking can be a little hectic and crazy, but it's definitely worth it for the price and portions. Since most of it is already premade, our order of 10 items came out in under 10 minutes. However, I can see the line being quite long in the mornings/noon. Oh my the Dim Sum place is very popular. The first challenge is to find a parking spot at this very busy corner Asian Supermarket. I drove around a got lucky as I saw a parked car ahead turn on the rear reverse lights. Second challenge is a stiff walk in the drizzly rain that got me to about number 5 on the line to order. Wow..the orders ahead of me are slow and big....but I see a steady bunch of pick up/delivery drivers walk up with their phone and get their prepared to go bags. My turn to order. A tall gentleman helped me with my list. He says about 10 minutes...apparantly they are busy with the delivery orders. My number was never called, yet the tall person said it was ready. Ok then, finding my car on the far side of the parking lot was dangerous as more cars are jockeying for position at 9:15am....wow! I get home and unpacked and opened containers. What? Third challenge is to keep calm... Mistakes were made and I got somebody elses order of the sesame balls instead of the Shrimp dumplings I ordered... I got twice the amount of the sesame treats and no shrimp dumplings. 4th challenge... what do I do now? It was raining and I'm two miles away .... I'll just grin and bear it. This place is in a supermarket right on the side. Its just one door and a register. They make plenty of dim sum as they have a lot of orders, but the place is fairly tiny. I can see why the place gets a lot of business. Its very affordable. Most of everything is 4.50$ about. The shu mai is huge and very robust in flavor. All other items are the same price, huge, and flavorful. The only thing that's kind of in the expensive side is the roast pork and specialty items, but that's with every place. I usually get the typical dim sum items like shrimp dumpling (har gow), shrimp rice paper, fried shrimp and chive, and pork and shrimp dumpling (xiu mai). My aunt and I had a long, exhausting day helping family through a big transition, so we decided to celebrate with some comfort food. When we discovered this place and thought "Dim Sum after 3 PM", we were instantly sold. We ordered almost everything on the menu and still came home with three giant bags of food. Wow, this place is such a busy spot, with parking in the immediate entrance area can be quite an effort. If you're lucky, you'll find one about close to the shop, if not, then just look for parking with the other businesses and their customers...yes, parking is crazy in the plaza of this dim sum shop! But...with all that, The Dim Sum Co. is worth giving a try, even if it's just once! There will be long lines here and though you can place an order ahead (I believe's it's online, though I did not use it for my first visit...next time...definitely!). Expect to wait for either in person or online orders, but if you order right there, the estimated wait is between 25-35 minutes on the weekends. If you get bored waiting around, take a walk to the connected My Thuan Market next door (you can check out my review on that shop if you'd like). Anyway, the dim sum here is pretty good and fairly priced. About $5 each kind of dim sum, though still pricey...so if you order 3 items, that's about $15 +$1.50 tax (tax rate in Westminister is 9.25% at time of this post...so you can calculate that on your own...lol). Had their Taro Crispy Roll, Siu Mai, and Baked Char Siu Bao. All were very good, especially the Taro Rolls. I didn't get to take any food photos as we ate it all as soon as we got the order! Oh and yeah, this place is entirely a take-out dim sum...NO dining in! Looks family owned with fair customer service. Side Note: The main street or location of this plaza may have some sketchy/homeless people (even during the day). Did encounter a random person screaming loudly that got all of our attention. I used to love the food and service here in the past. Now, customer service and food quality has gone down. They started getting my orders wrong. I paid for things I didn't ask for but just forgave them because I still got the food anyway. Recently, I ordered three orders of the fried shrimp balls. I checked the order in the car because of the previous times and got a completely different order than what I paid for. I even made sure to check the screen before paying to make sure the order was right. I went back to get my order redone, and they outright refused to refund or replace my order. Mind you, it had only been 2 minutes since I left the stand. Manager sided with the employee, and they refused to look at the camera evidence. They claimed that we put the napkins onto the food, so they couldn't replace it. We did NOT put the napkins in; we opened the container to check the order and closed it immediately after to take it back. EVEN IF it had napkins in it, why would they prevent them from taking it back? Makes me think if they take orders back, they resell it. Not sure but doesn't seem hygienic. Here's a long overdue updated review of The Dim Sum (formerly Dim Sum Co)? I'm not sure if their name really changed... but it is changed here on Yelp. Food taste and quality wise, it is still the same as it was when I started coming here five years ago. Prices have gone up, but not more than other places around. This place is still cheaper than everywhere I've seen. Also, they make the best siu mai in my opinion. I love placing my order online for pickup. I always reheat my food at home, so it doesn't bother me whether the dim sum is piping hot or not. Something to note is that they charge you for their sate chili oil when you order online... and they even have a sign out front that says that. However, they always give it to me when I ask without charging... so, that's pretty cool! Parking here is still stressful during busy times and there is no where to sit down. read more

After years of happily giving this joint my business, today was my last day here. Why?? 1) With the prices they charge, they don't even offer dining tables anymore like they used to. Why pay this much without the option of sitting there and relaxing? 2) Quality is pretty ghetto... Well, the actual place is now ghetto so no surprise it reflects in the food. I arrived about 10 minutes before closing, but the kitchen was already shut down and cleaned, which was disappointing. Some better than others but truly this is a good option for to go dim sum. They just have the pick up window so you can order in line but I prefer and recommend ordering online and picking up in advance. Never had a problem with my orders no matter how big it is. This place used to have some table and chairs but since Covid they became to-go only place. You can actually preorder on their website and pick up later for convenience, but most of the times the foods weren't ready by the pick up time. I've been coming to this spot on and off for about four years and my earlier were great. It's a grab-and-go spot operating out of My Thuan supermarket, which is actually super convenient, but the meal I had this morning showed that their quality is noticeably different. The banh cuon tom and har gow were the biggest letdowns. The meat-to-carb ratio has decreased significantly. The banh cuon rolls were mostly rice noodle with like three tiny shrimp inside (like the 71/90 size). I also got the beef tripe and chicken feet, and both had a lingering stench. Usually the smell you recognize when meat and poultry are prepared thoroughly... flavor was still there just with a little something extra that made me avoid going back for a second piece. :/ On the positive side, the siu mai is still the superstar here. Big, juicy, and filling. Just exactly how I remember it. Their salted egg custard buns are also a quality item. And I appreciate that they include Chinese hot mustard without you having to ask. Prices remain very fair, and the convenience factor is definitely still there. I'd come back, but I'd skip the har gow and banh cuon tom. If you're placing a bigger order, I'd recommend ordering ahead online. The wait can be a bit if you're ordering at the window.
