I've never had laotian food and I'm kicking myself for not trying it sooner. The place is lovely and clean and ourserver Ricky is very nice. Expect a bit of a wait during weekends at peak mealtimes. We started with thai tea to drink and papaya salad. We got fried pork belly and the bbq combo for our mains. Finished the meal with mango coconut ice cream Thai Tea- Best thai tea I've had in my life! It was rich and creamy with a hint of seasalt caramel flavor. Nothing quite like it! Fried Pork Belly- The skin is crisp with a good amount of juicyness in the meat. It's marinated in lemongrass, garlic, and ginger so it's bursting with flavor. Papaya Salad- Shredded papaya is crisp and it has a sweet and tangy flavor with a good amount of heat. It's a good condiment to eat with the meat. Bbq Combo- It comes with chicken, sausage, and beef so you have quite the spread. The chicken is juicy and flavorful. Beef has a nice char and smokiness. Sausage is savory. Mango Coconut Ice Cream- Such a lovely way to finish the meal! The mango is sweet and juicy and provides a wonderful contrast against the creamy ice cream. A must try! Great experience overall!

for the price, service, and taste, Nok's is one of the best in the area. total for a group of 5 came out to be 105$ and we barely finished everything! Our server was amazing and food came out quickly. Got the pad kapao, khao piak (lao chicken clear broth soup, surprising hit/table fav!), tum mak houng papaya salad, and larb rib eye salad. everything's great and there were too many options to pick from!

A fabulous Laotian meal. We enjoyed a grilled platter with sticky rice, the vegetable platter and a chicken khao soi. The meat plate has wagyu beef, grilled chicken, and sausage. The sausage is akin to Chiang Mai sausage and was the highlight of the meal.

Had an amazing experience @ Nok's Kitchen, our worker was so sweet and helpful with recommendations. Had this on my radar and I'm glad I came! Got the papaya salad with cooked shrimp. So simple and fresh. The new pork belly was pretty mediocre and I don't think it's worth $20. chicken skewer (not pictured) was so juicy and not dry at all! Curry was a bit too sweet for our liking but glad we gave it a try. Pandan sticky mango rice was soooo good! Not too sweet either which is always a plus. Parking lot provided and the inside was so cute and clean.

Kao poon chicken!! Papaya salad yummy and nam Kao amazingly delicious and Thai ice tea supe delicious!

Food and service Is amazing will definitely go Back! The restaurant very nice and the decor is beautiful!

I finally came to Nok's new location since their move a little while ago. The restaurant is so much bigger and beautifully decorated. Workers are so friendly and helpful. I got my usual Nam Khao Crispy Rice Salad ($15) and Papaya Salad ($14) to go. They were packed very nicely and tasted just as I remembered. Pricing wise for these two dishes is fair. However, I felt that the papaya salad is smaller than usual. If this plaza gets busy, I can see parking being extremely difficult. This place is definitely a must try!

I was so excited to try this new (to me) restaurant, but it didn't turn out as planned (not their fault at all) ... guess we could argue that we should or should not eat "cartilage"... Does it really have collagen and is it really good for you? Well, by the time I ordered and got this from a new restaurant I tried yesterday... I was starving because it was close to 3 pm and all I had was a Premier Protein drink in the morning. My husband just text me that he was bringing dinner home, so I opened up this box and started eating. SMH that each piece had a (not so good) crunch. I was driving, so I just kept eating... thinking that was a bad piece. Recall the guy telling me this appetizer was "his favorite" The receipt clearly says "chicken knee cartridge" ...Ohhhh great ‍ Well tonight, we are eating the rest of this meal and unfortunately the "crispy" rice salad was no longer crispy. (Not their fault, of course) The last item was Chicken Curry Noodle soup... Love to try new things from different cultures, but I think I struck out on this Indonesian/Laos restaurant.... $60 later. My bad. Just ok IMO

Nok's kitchen is one of the hidden gems in the Garden Grove/Westminister area. I've been here both pre- and post- their move to the new location, and I definitely think that the parking lot has much more room now. Laotian food is hard to find, so it was nice to find a spot so close to where I live. Whenever I go, I usually get the papaya salad, the lao sausage with sticky rice, and the nam khao (which is like a crispy fried rice wrap dish). I've also had the soup and the mango sticky rice here as well. One note, I do think that even though when we've asked for Lao spicy, they don't actually make it as spicy as it would be, as I've had Lao spicy bring me to tears before. Their Lao spicy is more of a mild, but definitely still has a kick if you're not used to that kind of spice level. The restaurant is decorated and themed very nicely, and I appreciate that they use real sticky rice baskets for whenever they bring out the food. Love this place!

Been her several times, food is always good. I love the friendly staff and how attentive they are. I usually like to try different things on the menu. We ordered the chicken curry with noodles, pad kapao with egg, beef jerky and fried pork ? I didn't order that but it was so good! Everything was delish! So good my mom placed an order to go for the pork dish and pad kapao. This is my go to for laos food.

This place was super busy and we had to wait over 45min to be seated, but the waiters were really nice. One issue would be the menu on the back where the drinks are located, only 1 drink was eligible to read, which was Lao coffee. Pork belly 5/5 -soooo crispy, I loved it Spare ribs 5/5 Bbq mix combo 4/5 -beef was kinda chewy Lao coffee 4/5 -suuuuper strong but yummy Rotti curry 4/5 -delicious but wished curry sauce was thicker

A quick search for "lunch" in Westminster pop up Nok's as a suggestion. A few Yelpers I know had reviewed this place so I thought I'd give it a try. The reason for just the 3 star rating was because every staff person that stopped by our table was trying to sell us on specials, which happened at least 3 times. We were also seated at the table by the front door so there was always people standing really close to us waiting to be helped or for their table. Although the food was good, the overall experience just didn't make it an enjoyable time. My favorite dish was the Rotti Curry starter. The Yellow curry dipping sauce was really good. All the food reminded me of my recent trip to Thailand.

As usual- delicious flavorful food. Great attentive customer service. They are busy with lots of customers but they pay attention to all the tables with refilling water, getting napkins, or ordering more food. Clean packed restaurant but they make it work with compact space.

Hi! Where did you guys get your furniture especially the chairs?

Is there more than one location? Pics show different buildings?

Only one location. They moved from Westminster ave to Bolsa Ave

    Are they closed every Tuesday?

    Do they have vegan food?

Most of their food will have hints of fish sauce, pork rinds, and/or meat loaf. Though you could ask to have these removed as their notable dishes like the Papaya Salad, Cucumber Salad and Crispy Rice Salad dishes.

    Can we make a reservation?

The Lao sausage green sauce that it comes with is sooooooo good, do you guys sell it by itself? if not, you should really bottle it!!!

They sell it in a jar for $8

Are the frozen Lao sausages for sell at the restaurant?

Hi yes I have them available

How many tables and how many chairs do they have for outside dining?

They have about 2-3 small tables that flank both sides of their restaurant.

What dishes do they only serve on the weekends?

    Soup based dishes.

Does this place accept debit/credit card?

Yes, debit and credit cards are accepted

Service is always excellent I have no problems I always get what I need and my orders always right. It's a no frills hole in the wall establishment. I have perfected my order and it is always the same - beef pad se ew: delicious, piping hot, garlicky flavorful, beef is a little chewy but it's fine the noodles shine with the Chinese veggies -crispy fried rice: legit in this name crispy, chewy, refreshing paired with salad and ask for some chili fish sauce drizzle it on top delicious bites! -pork jerky: chewy, salty, flavorful but I don't care for the sauce it comes in sells out often get it while you can! It's a lot of food often I have to take a little bit togo but the portion size isn't always consistent so keep that in mind if you are with a larger party. Honorable mentions: Papaya salad is good they have 2 styles get the one that has a crab o watch out though get medium or mild it can be very spicy if you can't handle it. Recently tried the boat noodles and it was interesting very large and filling lots of noodles and toppings. Loved the fried shallots taste and texture it added you smell tom yum but it doesn't taste like it at all very unique taste I don't know what to compare it to. Try it if you want to try something fun and new.

3/5 - Worth the Nostalgia, Not the Food!…read more I finally checked out the Little Saigon/Asian Garden Mall Night Market on Friday, 7/18/2025, with my mom and son. While we've visited this area over the last 30 years during the day, this was our first time staying overnight in the area to experience the night market. The night market runs during the summer months, Friday through Sunday, from 7 to 11 PM. Free parking is hit or miss depending on what time you arrive and how lucky you get with the surrounding area. After visiting several night markets across Vietnam and Thailand this past year, I'm generously giving this one a 3 out of 5. That score is strictly for the nostalgic vibes and lively energy, not the food quality. Food Quality and Vendors: The experience is clearly geared toward capturing the essence of street food. Most vendors are located in the normally front parking lot during the day, while inside kiosks within the mall stay open past regular hours of the mall. You'll find items here that are harder to come by in sit-down restaurants, though the execution is hit or miss and often overpriced. Inside the mall: We had decent ốc len xào dừa and hột vịt lộn xào me. My son liked the hột vịt lộn xào me enough to get three of them at $5 each. He appreciated that a staff member cooked them to order in front of us, and the semi-fresh tamarind sauce had good heat and flavor. Temperature stayed hot, which is crucial for taste and food safety. Outside vendors: -My mom and I picked up three dessert items from one vendor: tàu hủ lá dứa, xôi bánh cống (3), and bánh kẹp dừa. We paid $28 total. -The silken tofu (tàu hủ) was cold in an unappealing way, like it had been sitting out for hours. Not fridge-cold, not warm, just off. I tossed it after the first bite. -The xôi bánh cống was great and the highlight of our outdoor snacks! -Bánh kẹp dừa lá dứa had all the right fillings (mung bean and fresh shredded coconut) but missed the mark on flavor. It was overly bland despite its potential. -My son tried grilled squid: tender, but lacking seasoning. -I ordered bắp nướng for $4. Despite being reheated on the grill and soaked in mỡ hành before that, it came out bland and under seasoned. We skipped the heavier hot foods due to the heat and full from earlier dinner, though I noted one vendor had all the classics like bún mắm, bún riêu, and cháo lòng. Highlights and Lowlights: The real star of the night was the karaoke stand. There were some strong (and fearless) singers belting out Vietnamese oldies with heart. That alone brought back warm memories. On the other hand, the main stage performers were loud and off-key, mostly singing unfamiliar newer songs that lacked appeal for me. Restroom Situation: This is where the experience drops a notch. There were a few porta potties outside that matched typical fair standards, not great. Inside the mall, the restrooms were better in structure but messy, with paper supplies scattered and cleanliness clearly not prioritized. With the volume of foot traffic, they need better upkeep. Tips: -Bring cash--most outside vendors are cash only. -Expect lines and crowds. -Come for the energy and experience, not gourmet food. -Use the restroom before you arrive if you can. Final thoughts: I still remember if you haven't been there. There's a certain charm here, especially if you want to feel like you're back at a Southeast Asian night market. But for actual flavor and quality, you'll find far better food elsewhere in the area.
