I love Vietnamese food and this is the only place where I've found this unique freshly made rice paper tower dish. It's a simple concept done so well. It is kinda pricey but it's definitely something I still dream about and wish they had a location closer to home. I've been here twice, once with my 2 gfs and we ordered 2 towers and an extra meat along with the egg rolls. Another time with my family of 6 where we ordered 3 towers, egg rolls and a rice dish. The rice dish wasn't anything special, fried rice with an over hard egg and lemongrass chicken. The egg should be over easy so it has a runny yolk in my opinion so it was a miss for me. The lemongrass chicken in the rice was the same as the one in the tower we got, good but just ok. I've gotten the lemongrass pork before and thought that was just ok too. The crispy pork belly rice sheet tower is where it's at. You get veggies, crispy onions and fish sauce. Def ask for more fish sauce cause it was delish. I always have to ask for it with no chili cause the chili comes standard. The egg rolls are a miss so pass on those. Plus it only comes with four which is kinda sad. 6 would be better. My mom got the papaya salad. I'm not a fan but the beef jerky on top was good. Service is fairly fast. They took our order quickly but the rice sheet towers took a while, maybe cause they're made to order; either way, they're worth the wait.. I found Quan Nhii on social media and finally had a chance to check it out. It's tucked away in the Bolsa Mini Mall plaza, so it's easy to miss if you don't know where to look. I highly recommend joining the Yelp waitlist before you go because the wait can get pretty long. The standout for me was the banh uot heo quay with pork belly. It was absolutely delicious! The dish comes with 10 sheets of fresh banh cuon, vegetables, crispy fried onions, and a sweet fish sauce for dipping. Next time, I'd probably order an extra side of the shredded pork meatloaf because it paired so well with everything. I also ordered a side of the lemongrass chicken, but it wasn't my favorite. It had more of a curry flavor than the bright lemongrass flavor I was expecting, so I'd skip that next time and stick with the pork options. Learned about this place on IG and had to check it out. We ordered the Bánh Ướt Heo Quay and Bánh Ướt Thịt Heo Nướng. My favorite was the lemongrass pork. My husband is allergic to shrimp and wanted to try one of them and they were able to accommodate us! The towers are deceptive in that you think you can finish them all by yourself, you can't and that's the best part because I thought they were reasonably priced for the amount of food. The spicy rib bone soup was also great and love that there were different spice levels. It's located in a plaza with lots of parking! Quan Nhii is tucked into the corner of a very busy plaza, so parking can take a bit to find. There's a Yelp waitlist screen at the front; our wait was about 20 minutes on a weekend. The place is very clean, but the service was just okay. Our food and drinks came out fairly quickly, but we sat for over 10 minutes before anyone took our order and had to not very easily flag someone down. It didn't seem like anyone was really monitoring the tables. Their DIY banh cuon (steamed rice paper rolls) is an interactive concept and could be fun if you're new to Vietnamese food. The plain steamed rice papers come in "towers," and you add the vegetables and protein yourself to roll them up. It's nice that you can control the portions and ratios, but doing all the rolling while hangry made me a little antsy. It was overall good, but the proteins weren't exceptional in my opinion. For appetizers, we had the bot chien (fried taro/radish cakes). They were very crispy. The basil fries, however, were barely seasoned with just a few fried basil leaves on top, so there wasn't much basil flavor or aroma. Most places sell banh uot pre-filled, but this restaurants allow you to build it yourself with all the variety of toppings and proteins. Super fun and delicious. I actually came here with the intention of ordering their 2 people combo they used to have, but they no longer offer it. My vendor trusted in me to do the ordering so I got a little bit of everything for us to share. I ordered the Cha Gio ($14.95), Banh Uot Heo Quay ($19.95), Banh Hoi Thit Ga Nuong ($16.45), and a side of Thit Heo Nuong ($5.95). For drinks, my friend ordered the Strawberry Lemonade ($5.95) and I ordered the Ca Phe Sua Da ($5.95). What a delicious feast! We ate everything mix and match so I'll break it down by component. Cha Gio - Egg rolls. These actually came out after everything else even though they are an appetizer. They brought out 3 at first and acknowledged 1 was missing and they're working on it. They came back with 2 more so we got a bonus egg roll. These were served with lettuce, herbs, and fish sauce. Super crispy and delicious. It looked a little dark but it wasn't overcooked at all. Banh Uot - Steamed rice flour sheets. These orders are served with a glorious tower of 10 steamed rice sheets plates topped with minced shrimp and chives. Made very thin, although some were so thin there were holes in it before we touched it. Comes with veggies and chive chili fish sauce. Banh Hoi - Thin woven rice vermicelli sheets with chives. Comes with veggies and chive chili fish sauce. One of my favorite starches. My vendor friend and I were joking that these are the metaphorical vehicles for the proteins. They said the banh hoi is the PORSCHE of vehicles. High praise! Heo Quay - Crispy pork belly. Super crispy, but when it came out I definitely felt like there could have been more of it. Even pieces that have meat and crispy skin. A little tough but not too noticeable since they cut it up pretty small. Thit Heo Nuong - Grilled pork. Good as a grilled pork but I didn't really taste the lemongrass they put in the description. Really flavorful but not lemongrass tasting. Thit Ga Nuong - Grilled chicken. I actually taste the lemongrass on this one. Some of the butchering were incomplete and left it in clumps. The pieces I ate were a tasty juicy dark meat cut. Great place to check out if you want to experience some delicious central Vietnamese cuisine and you don't mind getting your hands dirty. Don't expect too much from service. It's pretty no frills and surprisingly unfriendly for young staff. This restaurant takes a full hour to get to from our home, but we made the trek knowing that our efforts would be rewarded. It opens at 10am, and we were the first customers to come in last Monday. It was as we remembered - clean, spacious, inviting and minimally decorated (I can't stand clutter). We ordered those bahn uot towers and boy, were we so happy. No other Vietnamese restaurant in the Inland Empire or DTLA (that we know of) offers this. Slightly oiled round noodles, flanked by containers of pork belly (you can choose other meats if you prefer beef or chicken or pork cooked differently) and a dish with Thai basil, marinated carrots, cucumbers and bean sprouts. We happily rolled our food into the noodles and nom-nom-nomed the whole time. They also have these chicken wings that my boys just devoured. I was lucky to snag a photo. My advice? Come early because the parking lot fills up FAST. Wear garterized pants and order those towers, you won't regret it. It's delicious, healthy and filling food that you won't find anywhere. I began to think the meat and the shallots were not prepared fresh, and were likely sitting out and like dried up or something. The last thing is the wraps were slippery and wouldn't close properly. The rice cake didn't stick to itself so they were difficult to hold and dunk into the sauce. Going back for a redunk was almost impossible because the ingredients would fall out into the sauce. During Tet week, I got to visit Garden Grove/Westminster a little more than I typically do. After visiting the Tet festival this year, I stopped by this spot because I wanted to grab something other than the typical Viet stuff. The restaurant is midsize, and there's usually a wait. I did like that they had an online waitlist that you could join before hand. Our table got the eggroll appetizers, banh uot, banh hoi, soda chanh muoi, and the plum soda. The banh uot came out as the tower, and while it looks like it's not filling, it actually is super filling when combined with the side fillings. The banh hoi was also very good, ours was paired with marinated pork. I haven't had banh hoi in ages, so it was nice getting to have it here. The salted sodas were both really tasty.
