I tried several of the other highly rated banh xeos in the area but they do not come close to the one here for me. TK makes the style of Banh Xeo that I like and grew up eating. Thin, crispy, and coconuty rich outer layer and filled with shrimp, pork, and bean sprouts. The aunties were so sweet and friendly. We sat on the second side and it felt like we had the restaurant to ourselves which was nice because eating banh xeo in public is pretty messy. The Banh Xeo was massive! Chopsticks in photo for size comparison. More than enough to share. I ordered it without squid and it was exactly like how my mom made it. It comes with greens/veg and rice paper for rolling. I brought my own gloves and enjoyed every minute of it. I will definitely be back for more. Ample parking in a shared lot, it's located to the left of the supermarket in the back corner. read more

First time at TK Banh Xeo, and didn't realize it was connected to Com Tam Thanh Kieu! Tried the Banh Xeo, which they're obviously known for, and it was okay. The skin was crispy and paired well with the fresh veggies and complimentary rice paper, but lacking on the filling and flavor. It was a majority of bean sprouts inside, and some few pieces of tough pork, squid and shrimp. They also had a Buy 2 Get 1 Free offer for the noodles/rice dishes, which we took advantage of. Tried the Bun Bo Hue, and which the portion was ginormous, the flavor of the broth was also lacking. It didn't really have the deep beefy flavor I was looking for, but they definitely did not skimp on the meat in the soup. Just didn't really "hit" the way I wanted it to. We ordered the other 2 noodle dishes (dry hu tieu noodles) to go since it was so much food, which was also just okay. Not sure if I would come back unless someone really wanted to go! This is such a hidden gem for banh xeo! Their prices are so reasonable for the quality you get. The banh xeo is crispy and packed with different meats and seafood. We also got the nem rolls which were so good!! Their is crispy eggroll wrapper inside and a good amount of meat! We came by for a very late lunch at around 3pm and it was pretty empty except one other table. Greeted and seated and given menus quickly. We ordered the nem nuong spring rolls and the banh xeo and bánh khốt. The spring rolls were not very good compared to other places we've tried for nem nuong. The banh xeo and banh khot were super yummy and filling! I like that they also give mini rice paper to make our own rolls with the banh xeo and the banh khốt. It shares a space with another restaurant, and because of this, the menu is pretty extensive with different com tam and soup options! We were here specifically for the banh xeo and banh khot though, and were not disappointed! The banh xeo was HUGE, and rivals a similar size and crisp to Quan Mii. Similarly, the banh khot were the biggest I've ever had, and the coconut sauce to drizzle was a unique addition I've never seen at other restaurants -- it was delicious! So let's start off with this review is pruely based on the food. The food was tasty but I wouldn't say it's the best I've had. Could better service influence my decision more and bump them up a star, possibly but it was pretty bad service. Yes, I know it's the typical restaurant that you shouldn't expect much with service but there was absolutely no presence. She seemed annoyed, didn't refill the water, nor came back once the food was put down, and was basically M.I.A. It's a two side restaurant and we noticed anyone new that came in was moved over. Bad luck for us. I saw her rudely pushing another customer to get out of her way, rather than say anything. Let's just say, it wasn't due to a language barrier as he spoke the language. There was live music. We ordered the Banh Xeo and Banh Knot. Banh Xeo comes with small spring roll wrapping sheets. I thought this was a nice touch but I struggled with it. I'm used to a normal size and even my husband was like "that's the worse wrapping I've ever seen you do lol." Banh Knot comes with coconut on the side, loved that. It was unique and upped the flavor. The fish dipping sauce we missing that acidity and garlic taste. Overall the portion was a nice size and crispy. Not sure if they were running low on pork but that was lacking on both dishes. We would have ordered more food since it wasn't very filling but she just never came back, so we just went elsewhere to eat. Her first time trying banh xeo and she normally doesnt eat after 5 pm but she tore into it around 8 pm and finished it all driving home. I was visiting my sister and wanted to bring over some banh xeo and banh khot because the area of Orange County that she's in, doesn't have a lot of good Vietnamese food. A friend had gotten banh khot from here previously and I remember it being good, so I called in an order of banh khot and banh xeo. The great thing about TK banh xeo is that it's attached to Thuan Kieu so you're able to grab rice and noodle dishes as well. They still have their buy 2 get 1 free specials on certain rice and noodle dishes so I was able to pick up a few other things from that. The buy 2 get 1 free dishes we got were just okay, but the banh xeo and banh khot were great! My sister and brother in law loved them, especially since they were still crispy when they ate them. It came with some lettuce and rice paper. It was large and pretty filling. Not super crispy but it was done pretty good. Oh and they gave us free corn che after. It was the perfect way to end our meal. The pricing is really affordable here. The staff was really nice and made sure to check on us. They even brought out more dipping sauce as well. Was already late so I quickly Yelped something and wow, am I so glad things worked out the way they did because I never would have discovered this new place! Ordering take out was pretty quick. It took about ten minutes to get my order of two banh xeos. I had a 7 minute drive and they stayed hot and crispy. Not sure how well they'd fare in a longer drive but the safest best would be to eat it fresh at the restaurant unless you live close enough. They portioned the perfect amount of rice paper and were very generous with the herbs and veggies, love that. Their dipping sauce is very good and the right balance of sweet and tart. If you like it spicy, they include chilis to add to your sauce. I thought it was just going to be meat and shrimp so was pleasantly surprised when I found squid in there as well! The edges remained crispy even after about 20 minutes of eating it. It's $15 per banh xeo but it's a fair price when you realize how much food it actually is! read more

Almost summer like weather had me craving some fresh vegetables and crisp food. First time here, wanted to try a bunch of food! Crispy banh xeo sac biet is a very large crispy pancake like dish with stir fried shrimp and thinly sliced pork belly. Table was provided with a pungent and delicious mixture of Nico mam with garlic and chili. Each dish also has a side of herbs, mint, perilla or basil and lots of romaine leaves. I think each piece tastes quite nice with the fried crispy pancake and fillings plus the vegetables, dipped in the dressing. Daikon and carrots roughly chopped for the pickle side. Quiet late afternoon lunch time and we had quick service. I appreciated how the dishes were presented with each sauce and how to self assemble them. Also had some rice paper plus its own hot water container to soften it up to wrap the different components. Delicious pandan mung beans drink. I got also a bun bo hue bowl of soup. I prefer my meats to be more tender but the dish was still very tasty. Our take home dishes were wonton soup and Hainan style chicken with rice. Plentiful parking. Came here to try the banh khot. It was okay, nothing out of the ordinary. What was bad was the service and the discrimination I felt while eating here. I came into the restaurant and an old woman sat me in the corner with all the empty tables while every person that came in after me was sat on the other side of the wall because they spoke Vietnamese. It comes in a huge portion of the crepe. It's very crispy and flavorful at the same time. They give you lots of greens as well to wrap in the rice paper. You can also order from their original Com Tam menu as well. The Banh Khot is great to share with a group. The sweet potato and shrimp is a must order here as well.
