Did not wanted to order Original Garlic Wings. Was forced on by their emloyee, Phong

I see Mama Hieu's a lot whenever I buy Bún Vịt Thanh Đa so I decided to give this place a try. A lot of their menu are posted on Yelp with flavor options: Original Garlic Butter, Spicy Original Garlic Butter, Fish Glazed, Salted Egg Yolk, Andy's Special and there is also menu on big screen TV right behind staff! Today, when I asked my family member to get me either Fish Glazed or Andy's Special, however, my family member was told by Phong, Mama Hiếu's staff, they don't sell Fish Glaze (nước mắm wings) nor Andy's Special (soy sauce wings). Was Phong trying to get rid of the store unpopular items or something? Phong, are you proud of yourself for tricking elderly person who doesn't speak English into buying those wings to get rid of whatever are left for the day?! I did not asked nor wanted Original Garlic wings!! Costco sells a big bag of fried chicken wings that I could easily turn into fish sauce or soy sauce once dip those wings into the sauce. Should've gotten Bún Vịt Thanh Đa. If you want soy wings or different flavors go KoKo Chicken. They are known for soy wings but they aso a bunch of different flavors. I was obsessed with Mama Hieu's back when they were serving out of their house during Covid, so very excited to see them grow into a storefront. Since then, they've also got some new flavors too. I made a pick up order online ahead, but still had to wait an extra 15-20 minutes when I arrived. For the four of us, we ordered Mama's Family Pack ($45), which includes 20 wings, garlic noodles, fries, and sauces. Since it only includes two flavors as we opted for Salted Eggyolk and Fish Glazed, we also added an additional 4pcs wings in Garlic Butter and Andy's Special, so I could try everything. Of all the flavors, I enjoyed Andy's Special and Fish Glazed the most as the sauciness was more flavor. The egg yolk was so subtle that I didn't find the flavor being a standout. The wings are crispy and I do appreciate the Asian flavors though. As for the fries, they're as is. The garlic noodles were decent, but a tad on the softer texture for my liking. With all this fried food, we paired a large order of Pickled Veggies ($8), which was much needed to cut through. This was so refreshing to have with the chicken and alone. Overall, great Vietnamese chicken wing spot with some unique flavors. It's not something I'd probably come back for too often, but definitely worth checking out. The party platter are great for groups though.

    Filled to the brim.

Ordered the advertised popcorn chicken (extra spicy). Output time - 15 minutes Atmosphere - Definitely a lot of foot traffic, might have to eat in the car as very limited seating to about (11). They do have water station nearby register. Price 10$ Portion 5/5 Huge bouquet of popcorn nuggets. They pile the chicken on a tray and continue to add more on top similar to "five guys" method. Value 5/5- Definitely worth the price. Taste 4.5/5 75% tender juicy pieces The other 25% were the crunchy ones. Spice level - extra spicy is tolerable with a good heat. The only missing topping were Thai basil leaves.

Came here on a Wednesday afternoon at 3:30pm on the way to the Hilary Duff concert. It was pretty quiet inside with music playing on the overhead speakers. There was only a group of two eating inside and there were plenty of tables to choose from. We were greeted at the register right away and they were pretty friendly. Customer service was about standard. My wife and I ordered the house box with original flavor, spicy popcorn chicken with ranch, and a side of garlic noodles (since I've heard so much about it on IG reels). The food came out about 10mins after ordering at it was exactly as they say it is. So crispy and juicy. The water matching they have is top tier and came out super cold and crispy. There was enough food to fill us up and take home too. I'd easily come back.

I am so glad my bf told us to stop by here when we were in LA; because this was the best thing we ate out here during our little weekend trip! Mama Hieu's started out during COVID and was a small business that was selling plates from the house and due to all of their success, opened up two brick and mortar locations! The spicy garlic butter chicken was soooo good and crispy! It was actually pretty spicy too. I love how they included the pickled veggies! The box came with 7 wings and two scoops of rice and your choice of sauce. We got the Mama Sauce, which was a mayo like sauce. We didn't know what the Andy's Special flavor tasted like, but the workers explained that the flavor is similar to Vietnamese style crab (cua rang). So like oyster sauce, garlic, fish sauce like flavor; sticky. It was hella good!!! No need to dip in the side sauce either. Their fried chicken comes in many unique flavors like salted egg yolk and fish sauce. We weren't really feeling the garlic noodles; come here for the fried chicken box with rice instead! Definitely coming back next time we're in LA!

So worth the walk from Banh Khot Lady to here! I made it a mission to visit this spot when I was visiting OC. I've seen so many IG reels about this spot and let me just say it did not disappoint! Love at first bite. The wings were hot and spicy! I ordered 4 pcs spicy garlic butter + 4 pcs fish sauce wings. Everything smelled so good! The chicken wings were fried to perfection. I liked the spicy garlic butter a tad bit more cause I like dry rub. Although the fish sauce was yummy as well. Not too fishy but had good flavor. The staff here were very friendly. I would come back!

Yummy yummy yummy fried chicken! Maybe it's because I'm partial to Asian-inspired flavors, but the fish sauce glaze fried chicken is the best! It's the only flavor I order, actually. I always get the house box which comes with 7 chicken wings, rice, pickled veggies and sauce! Staff is friendly, and they take orders quickly, but during lunch rush hours or promotions, the store can get packed! For the amount of customers though, I'd say they're pretty quick at pumping out completed orders. Parking, however, can be a nightmare at this location. My friend and I usually just park at the Asian Garden Mall and walk over! Overall, I do recommend coming here to try out their wings! They're delicious!

Walked through the door and before I could even pretend to study the menu like a seasoned food critic, someone was already ready to take my order. That's the kind of efficiency I can get behind. The restaurant was clean, organized, and inviting, and the staff were friendly throughout my visit. Service was quick, and my food arrived without me having enough time to question all of my life choices. Now, let's talk about the main event: the wings. When my order arrived, I was optimistic. The wings looked like they had just finished a professional photo shoot. Crispy golden exterior? Check. Garlic and green onions sprinkled on top? Check. Fluffy garlic rice? Check. Sweet chili sauce standing by like a loyal sidekick? Check. Unfortunately, the flavor and I never quite shook hands. The wings and I spent time together, we just didn't find any chemistry! The wings didn't have that satisfying crunch and seemed to be observing a strict low-flavor lifestyle. They looked bold and adventurous but tasted surprisingly reserved. Then there was the garlic rice. Now, when I hear "garlic rice," I imagine garlic lovingly mixed throughout every grain, creating a harmonious relationship between rice and garlic. What I received was more of a rice-and-garlic long-distance relationship. The garlic was strategically gathered on top, so the flavor was pretty minimal. The pickled vegetables were fresh and crisp, and the sweet chili sauce ended up becoming the MVP of the meal! I came for garlic rice and flavor-packed wings. I left with good service, a clean restaurant, and a newfound appreciation for the sweet chili sauce!

Very yummy Andy's special chicken wings. The gooey goodness helps the wings taste juicy so I prefer them over the regular wings. Service is always good. Water dispenser on the counter. Sometimes sort of hot inside and the music may be hit or miss. Rewards program available and they have offers here and there. Another location on GG blvd.

I was making it a habit in coming here when they started their weekly wednesday promos where $4 for 4 wings and then the following 2 weeks it was $8 for 8 wings. When I would come inside, I would see their other limited time food items, like their brussel sprouts and order that as well. I really enjoyed their brussel sprouts and now sad to see it gone. I joined the Mama Hieus App which makes ordering ahead easier for pickup. I really like the app bc its simple to plan your dinner ahead. You can pick the day and time you want to pick-up. If I could make one request, is if you can give customers (me) the option to pay like extra $1-$2 for their orders to be ONLY FLAT WINGS on small orders. The chicken is so well crispy and coated and the non flat wings are too meaty but then carry less of your delicious seasoning in my opinion. Does that request exist? I guess I should ask this with your staff in person if I can get a special request to get all flat wings only. Overall, still love your wings and travel once a week when I can from Irvine to get them to share with my Mom for our bonding time.

Chicken was crispy, juicy and packed with flavor - def up there with some of the best Vietnamese style fried chicken wings. We got the Garlic Butter Wings and the Fish Sauce Wings (similar to Bonchon/IYKYK) with a side of sweet potato fries which also was delicious. Service was great, food came out in a timely manner. Can't ask for more. Seating and Environment was highly appreciated as there was plenty to select from. Will def return if we are back in the area.

I've been wanting to try Mama Hieu's for the longest time, and I finally did! The chicken wings were delicious fried to perfection in my opinion and they come with a side of rice, which made the meal even better. The service was great, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. They have a small indoor dining area if you want to eat there. Overall, it was a great experience, and I'll definitely be back!

Light. Crispy. Moist. Flavorful. Fish sauce flavor and Andy's special were so good. Need to try salted egg yolk flavor next time. Heard their shrimp is real good too. Also order a side of pickled veggies to eat with the wings. Place is real clean and quick service and friendly. Every time I visit from Dallas, I'll def be coming back each time.

This is how 50 pieces half and half is packaged. Excellent. Impressed at the size of the wings. (larger than normal)

How big is garlic noodle tray?? How many does it feed?

    Around 10-15 people

Is your fried chicken gluten free?

    Do they have boneless?

    All bone in wings.

Is there an a la carte wing option?

    Minimum 5 wings though.

How far in advance do we need to order a party tray? Thank you

Best if you can order a couple days ahead of time, however I think 1 day in advance is ok. I'm answering from previous orders I've made. However, during Super Bowl they were taking orders a month ahead.

What the current methods of payments accepted @ the new 9090 Bolsa location?

Do your chicken wings have eggs in them?

Yes our product does contain eggs in them.

Can we eat in? Take out only?

Only take out, it's a phone order then set a time for pick up. It's homemade food made in her kitchen and there's no place to eat in.

I'm allergic to seed oils. What kind of oil do you use? Also is the chicken breaded at all?

We use canola frying oil. Our chicken in lightly breaded. It’s also gluten free

    Do they have delivery service?

Yes but a private one place an order on insta (dm them) and then schedule a delivery time :) or I think you could just call the number then place the order from there :)…

I also noticed a lot of people getting takeout, which I can definitely see working well here. The crêpe is so incredibly crispy that I don't think it would get too soggy on the ride home. That being said, at $20+ per, it's definitely expensive in my eyes, especially when I'm used to eating 2-3 of them at home. But if you've never had bánh xèo before or you absolutely love it, I'd still recommend giving this place a try. One thing I really liked was that they give you a generous amount of fresh veggies and herbs to wrap the bánh xèo with. The combination of the crispy crêpe, fillings, and fresh veggies makes for such a fun and satisfying bite.

Everything was full of flavor and absolutely delicious. But what really stood out to us was that it wasn't just the food -- it was the entire experience. The staff, the atmosphere, the music, and just the overall vibe made us feel so comfortable and welcomed. The music they were playing was amazing too! My friend and I were enjoying ourselves, eating good food, listening to good music, and just having such a great time. The whole place honestly had such a warm, homey feeling to it. When we were leaving, the gentleman who had greeted and seated us earlier ended up having a whole conversation with my friend and me. He was so sweet and personable! He mentioned that they may be opening a location in Culver City, and I told him I really hope they do because that would be much closer to home for me. I was even joking with him that if they open one, they need to bring the whole staff from this location over there too because everyone here was THAT amazing. At the same time, even if there ends up being a location closer to me, I would honestly still make the drive back to this one. When you visit somewhere for the first time and have such a great experience, that location becomes special. You can visit the same restaurant somewhere else, but the people, atmosphere, and experience aren't necessarily going to feel the same. This location definitely left that kind of impression on us. I really hope this review reaches management because the staff here deserves the recognition. Everyone we interacted with was wonderful, and Quang especially took such great care of us. This was our first time at VOX Kitchen, but it DEFINITELY won't be our last. We're already talking about coming back and bringing our family and more of our friends so we can all enjoy it together. 10/10 food. 10/10 service. 10/10 atmosphere. 10/10 experience. You guys definitely gained some returning customers!

I didn't know fusion food could taste so good! Today I learned that Chifa is Cantonese Peruvian…read morefood, and I honestly love it so much! Saltado fries with picanha: fries were deliciously fried so that it's crispy but doesn't get soft in the saltado sauce. The picanha was super tender and juicy! Vox pear salad: a refreshing starter with a healthy bed of arugula on top of burrata and pear. The balsamic glaze really pulled it together! Corn ribs: just finger licking delicious Chifa fried rice with filet mignon: fried rice was solid but didn't have the most wok hey flavor that I usually like. It was a bit too moist for fried rice. Filet mignon was a bit tough, but flavor was good! Garlic noodles with crispy salmon: yummy salmon and yummy garlic noodles (could be more garlicky). I wonder if these two could have been more cohesive together somehow, but both individual parts were good! My friend told me this restaurant's owner had a few other fusion restaurants in the plaza, so I'll have to try those as well!

What an awesome gem of a spot here in Orange County! I've been eyeing checking District 36 Diner…read moreout for the longest time - ever since they opened up earlier this year - but they have the weirdest opening hours! I always thought of them "as the restaurant with the bizarre hours" - literally four hours a day during the week (closed Mondays) - and only slightly longer hours during the weekend. Upon first stepping foot into the space - you're transformed into an old-school diner with Vietnamese influence. The walls are well decorated in Vietnamese memorabilia. I was greeted by Brian almost immediately - who directed me to a spot "wherever I'd like to sit" - and I opted for one of the booths. Brian - is the co-owner of the diner, but is also part of "old-school" Little Saigon culinary royalty - a descendant of the family that founded the OG Song Long restaurant off Bolsa Ave. that has since shut down (known for their Cha Ca Thanh Long dish - which sadly, you can't get here). He is incredibly warm, genuine, and easy to chat with. After trying to decide between their Bo Kho variations (which is my favorite Vietnamese dish next to pho) - I settled for something new for me - their Five Spiced Chicken Fried Steak - which also comes with two eggs your way (I picked "Sunny Side up"), tater tots, and a Diet Coke. The wait was minimal - and the food was awesome! The tater tots tasted fresh - was perfectly crispy on the outside, soft and yummy on the inside. I found myself eating those first - while letting the gravy seep into my chicken fried steak to soften it up a bit. The chicken fried steak was perfectly flavored - you could almost taste a bit of pho spices with each bite. The homemade gravy was out of this world amazing - making the chicken breading soft enough for me to eat comfortably. The two sunny side up eggs had perfect yolks - I like to poke, and then suck each yolk up - before eating the whites. I appreciate Brian cranking up the AC since I forgot to bring in my portable fan - and it was a pretty warm day. Hoping to check them out again this Saturday for their take on Bun Bo Hue or maybe one of their Bo Kho dishes! Plenty of parking in the shared lot with a Grocery Outlet and Artisan 7 Leaves (which I stopped by after my lunch here). Hope to see them more busy! Brian told me he'd definitely consider opening longer hours during the week if business picks up. Check them out!! They have a unique twist on traditional diner foods with a bit of Vietnamese flair!

The diner is very clean with interesting artwork and vibrant colors. I got the Five-Spice Chicken Fried Steak, Mama's Crispy Rolls, and a cup of Chicken broth to share. The rolls were hot and crispy with fresh leafy greens. The chicken fried steak was very crispy with a consistency almost like fried chicken. The taste is different from a traditional southern type of chicken fried steak. It had an interesting flavor like a mix of the pho seasoning. It is a brownish yellowish color and tastes a little like curry. It paired well with the tots. This was a hearty but not super heavy brunch dish and having a cup of the chicken broth was perfect to wash everything down. The breakfast burrito looked very good on the menu and I might try that for on another visit. I would recommend this diner for anyone looking for one with a retro modern feel and fusion food and good service.

The bowls looked great, and the dipping sauce trays were a nice touch that made the meal feel a little more put together than your typical pho spot. Service was friendly and everything came out pretty quickly. The restaurant itself had a nice, comfortable atmosphere and felt clean and welcoming. Overall, a great spot for pho in Westminster. Good food, nice presentation, and a pleasant experience all around. I'd definitely come back!

We were seated pretty quickly and the food was brought out quickly as well. The real highlight here is the Northern Style broth--it's aromatic, and packed with deep savory flavor without feeling overly salty or weighed down by MSG. The meat portions are generous, and the rice noodles always have the perfect bounce to them. Beyond the classic pho, their egg rolls are a great way to start the meal. The restaurant itself is clean, bright, and spacious, making it an easy place to bring family or grab a quick lunch. The service is quick and efficient, even during busy peak hours. It easily earns a solid 4 stars and has earned a regular spot in my local soup rotation!
