We didn't know what the Andy's Special flavor tasted like, but the workers explained that the flavor is similar to Vietnamese style crab (cua rang). I was making it a habit in coming here when they started their weekly wednesday promos where $4 for 4 wings and then the following 2 weeks it was $8 for 8 wings. When I would come inside, I would see their other limited time food items, like their brussel sprouts and order that as well. I really enjoyed their brussel sprouts and now sad to see it gone. I joined the Mama Hieus App which makes ordering ahead easier for pickup. I really like the app bc its simple to plan your dinner ahead. You can pick the day and time you want to pick-up. If I could make one request, is if you can give customers (me) the option to pay like extra $1-$2 for their orders to be ONLY FLAT WINGS on small orders. The chicken is so well crispy and coated and the non flat wings are too meaty but then carry less of your delicious seasoning in my opinion. Does that request exist? Both flavors had a Vietnamese-inspired dry rub where the spices really stood out. The wings were crispy on the outside and juicy and meaty in the inside. They were very garlicky, so be prepared. Both had a garlic butter base, but the spicy wings had a slightly different flavor with a nice kick that left a lingering tingle on your lips. We also ordered the garlic noodles, which felt more like a rich, cheesy pasta than traditional noodles. The thicker noodles were heavily coated and a bit heavy. I went very basic with the 4 spicy garlic butter wings and tater tots. I was pleasantly surprised at how many tater tots they provided. It was a good amount - very atypical. Onto the wings. I was pretty disappointed. It was a slow spiciness meaning it didn't taste spicy at first but it built up. Not totally spicy but good enough where it didn't burn your lips. The disappointment came in how I couldn't taste any garlic. When I think garlic butter I pictured wings dripping in butter and garlic but there was none. Like someone else said the overall flavor was lacking despite the green onions and spice. Service was on point. I'd like to try one of the other ones with rice next time. They even came up with other items and flavors, including my recent favorite Andy's special. Long story short, I ordered from wings wednesday and was largely disappointed when I received certain wings that left more to be desired. I'll just leave it at that. Additionally I wanted to talk about the Andy's Special House Box and revise my review to 5 stars based on this new offering. Andy's Special flavor is reminiscent of Asian Weddings where one of the dishes include a lobster and noodle garlic, green onion (scallion) mix. It is quite delectable. Somehow, Mama Hieu's has incorporate this flavor into the chicken wings to create the most satisfying crunch as each wing is covered in this batter, drenched with this sauce. The seasoning just wasn't as bold as I expected, and a more generous amount of green onions and garlic would've really elevated it. But I thought maybe they just had an off day. And since this is a new item perhaps they're still trying to tweak the recipe. I decided to give them another try a couple weeks later. And to my surprise, the wings were perfect this time around! They were crispier, bolder, saucier, perfectly seasoned, and packed with the right amount of heat. I'm not sure if they switched Suppliers but I was hooked from the start on the size of the wings, for what I was purchasing, as well as the taste. I'm not willing to pay more for less. Get your together, or Saturday was the last time I order. I pass a Wing Stop and a BFW to get to you on Bolsa, as well as other Restaurants from Huntington Beach. Your success is fading with smaller Wings. I know times are hard but don't shift from who you are. I would rather pay $1 or two more than eat Pigeon wings. Come on Man! read more

Ordered 4 pieces chicken wings with Original Garlic Butter flavor Garlic Noodle One cola The chicken was perfectly cooked, juicy, crunchy and garlicky delicious. Garlic Noodle was yummy , too.
