Nem Nuong Cuon and Bo Bia

We've been coming here for many years and it's still so busy. We come when I'm craving for their Nem Nuong Cuon. Add your named to the Waitlist early, wait can be up to an hour. The restaurant is very spacious and can accommodate huge groups. They have a very wide selection of Vietnamese food. I always like to try something new each time I come. This time I had the chicken curry and it was very good. The curry was very flavorful and wished there was more curry because my bread absorbed most of it. Definitely a restaurant we frequent.

The spring rolls with pork were so good! If I lived closer I'd probably eat them too often just because of how satisfying it is for a quick bite. I was surprised by the crunch in the spring rolls. I've never had anything like it. The sauce was okay. Honestly I preferred eating it with hot sauce. I also tried Vietnamese Crepes for the first time. It wasn't my favorite but the quality was there. I'd definitely come back for the spring rolls.

Grilled Pork Spring Rolls (Nem Nướng Cuốn)

Stick with the popular Grilled Pork Spring Rolls (Nem Nướng Cuốn). Although the restaurant has a huge range of options to choose from, they didn't meet our expectations and tasted better at other places. Just order their popular dishes, or else you'll just be disappointed. Mì Quảng is easily my favorite Vietnamese dish, and it didn't taste as good as I thought it would. Their grilled pork spring rolls were tasty, but that's what is expected of them. My sister noticed that they also sold boba drinks and was pleasantly surprised by the decent taste and quality. * Nem Nướng Cuốn: 10/10 - amazing sauce and wonton skin * Mì Quảng: 6/10 - broth was mediocre and no shredded meat * Hủ Tiếu Nam Vang: 7/10 - decent but nothing mind-blowing * Passion Fruit Tea with Mini Boba: 9/10 - surprisingly tasty * Lychee Tea with Boba: 8/10 - refreshing The workers were very assertive, and we didn't have much trouble trying to grab their attention. A huge downside that we noticed this time was how dark the restaurant was. Although we went just a couple of hours right after opening, the restaurant barely has any light and heavily relies on natural sunlight through the windows. Depending on where you're seated in the restaurant, it can get pretty tough reading the menu and taking photos. We were seated at a booth that was on a platform, and my mom tripped because of the dim lighting. Not terrible, but probably won't come back for a while.

The food is still the same and all the spring rolls still have the long Asian chive. I do like the traditional pho, bun, and fried rices that we enjoyed. We took home some food to-go and enjoyed later. The service is good the servers are very friendly and polite. It does still get very busy during rush hour lunch even on the week days. I have to admit this place is starting to grow on me. Im enjoying the food, service and people more now. We have tried the coffee and desserts too they're worth trying as well. Enjoy!

Lunch at Brodard Restaurant today and honestly... now I understand why this place is so loved in Orange County. From the moment the dishes arrived, everything looked fresh, colorful, and full of flavor. The famous nem nướng spring rolls absolutely lived up to the hype -- crispy, smoky, packed with herbs, and paired with that signature sauce that keeps you wanting more. Every plate felt thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented. What I really enjoyed was how vibrant and authentic the whole experience felt. Great atmosphere, fast service, and the kind of food you keep thinking about long after lunch is over. If you're in Fountain Valley or exploring Little Saigon, this Vietnamese restaurant is definitely worth a visit. Already planning my next trip back for more spring rolls. Ordered takeout so cannot comment on ambience and service. Honestly really disappointing portion of the com bo luc lac given the price. I'd rather go to Luc Dinh Ky.

Introduced a friend to a quick lunch here. Brodard is bustling and popular as usual, the loudness might be a little off putting for some, but it's a staple activity here. Connor, the front host, was accommodating and direct about the waitlist times for seating and I appreciate his promptness on calling incoming guests on the Yelp List per their busy lunch rush. Jake, our server was quick to take our orders and ensured she'd love the food as a first timer here. I ordered the Lychee Black Tea to start and she ordered the Coco Sugarcane, both were sweet and refreshing--perfect for summer weather. Aiming for a light lunch, both of us ordered our set of spring rolls, which consisted of the Grilled Pork and Shrimp, and then the Rib Eye Rolls. The grilled spring rolls were tasty, savory with the complimentary sauce added a wholeness to meals. The Rib Eye rolls on the other hand had a savory complexity to it as the dipping sauce was sour and acidic, but it went well with the ribeye meat's sweetness. (I recommend going easy when dipping the ribeye roll into its accompanying sauce. My friend is definitely going to be coming here for lunch breaks.

This is a review for my to go phone order experience. This place is always so consistent and good. I phone in on my way to the restaurant it was 12:10pm on a Thursday. The person on the phone was easy to talk to and kind and took my order with no problem even on a busy time of day. She said it would take 10-15 min. I arrived right in time and the order was ready. I know this seems like a normal procedure but I've been here when it was packed and today was packed but it was still easy to order on the phone and pick up. The roles are amazing. Same every time. The sauce was perfect and the roles were amazing as always. When in a rush, easy, comforting and tastes amazing every time! Store was clean and tidy as always and food was flowing in the air.

Pan fried noodles seafood.

Came here for a special birthday and enjoyed the deli food, great service, and cool vibe. Had the shaking beef, bodard special bun, pan fried rice noodles with seafood. And of course their famous shrimp spring rolls. More pricey than your typical Vietnamese place and usually a wait on weekends, but food is different too.

Parking: Large free parking plaza but very packed. Interior: HUGE venue to accommodate multiple large groups but also very packed. Ordered to go to not deal with this. The to go area is on the side for pick up. Wait Time: 15-20min for pick up and still 5min when I got there to pack items fresh. Items Order: 8/10 Nem Nuong 3 Rolls $8.25 - Spring roll was quite normal in terms of spring rolls standards. Sauce was served hot which was very good but flavor was also just good. Did not live up to the hype that it was best in LA but just solid.

Grilled Pork Spring Rolls & Coconut Shrimp Rolls! YUMM!

One of my favorite spots in the OC! My friend had put me on to these Grilled Pork Spring Rolls (Nem Nướng Cuốn) many years ago and I love these! IYKYK. Brodard is one of those spots that has a following amongst the county or people like myself that enjoy these memorable rolls. The location is huge. There's a bar, many tables and booths for large parties and also another quick service line for bakery stuff. You can check in on the Yelp kiosk upon entering. We came here specialty just for rolls and browsed the menu to see how many more options they offer. My friend usually gets us the Grilled Pork ones to go when we come over to the house. During a recent visit, it wasn't too packed yet and we were sat immediately. We ended up getting Grill Pork Spring Rolls and Coconut Shrimps Rolls. These always hit the spot. Whether it's the crunchy and crispy textures with each bite or the orange "Mom's Sauce" you dip them in. These Nem Nướng Cuốn never disappoint! As for the Coconut Shrimp ones, they were solid too! Great mix of flavors with the avocado inside. Per the menu, there are over 10 spring rolls options/variations. I'd like to try them all. lol. When we're anywhere near this Brodard, I have to stop by and get some! It's that addicting! :D ( ^_^)b

Overall I would give this place a 4/5. Service is friendly and fast. We came on a Friday around 3pm and wasn't busy at all. Ambiance is modern but still casual dining. Me and my partner are frequent flyers here as well for their popular items the spring roll. Definitely can stay the best spring rolls in OC. Banh Canh - broth was watery when usually this dish is suppose to be a thicker broth. Flavor wise could be stronger with the crab/shimp. Flavor didn't stick well to noodles and thus just tasted like rice noodles with broth Bun Bo Hue - broth was also watery with a lack of flavor. I tasted a mild beefy/spicy broth but the same as the Banh Canh it could've been stronger. I tried better at other Vietnamese places. They do provide the fixings for the soup with nice meaty pieces and noodles cooked al dente. Nem Chua spring rolls - soft rice paper wrapping with veggie fixings inside and crispy egg roll wrapper inside. veggies tasted nice and fresh. Sauce pairs well without overpowering with a fish sauce taste with some sweetness. Banh Knot - crispy edges with a nice sweetness in flavor. Alone I didn't prefer it but should be eaten with the fixings. Egg rolls - good and crispy. Nice flavor with the nice fish sauce with sweetness noted after. Nothing special and taste the best with the veggie fixings. Drink (coco sugar cane) - different from other coco sugar cane drinks I tried. Has a fruity/citrus taste with a mild coconut taste. I wouldn't get this again but open to trying another drink Drink (sweet cream Thai Tea) - typical Thai tea. For me this was very sweet especially with the cream added. I had to water this down but flavor wise just tasted like a regular Thai tea. Overall, we will continue to come for the spring rolls and definitely open to trying other dishes/beverages. Their menu is pretty extensive so a few trips will be made :)

Shrimp Spring Rolls Chao Tom Cuon - 2 Rolls

Overall everything was pretty below par. Went Tuesday 2pm so not too busy. Shrimp + pork spring rolls were so skinny. So much veggies, I didnt even realize there was pork. I ordered shrimp and pork roll but there was only one sliver of pork in each one. It might as well have been. veggie spring roll. Beef stew- Little oily, wish it was more hot. Small for the price. would recommend the noodle dish instead Service was bad. Nobody came to refill water, they did come to check on how the food was but neglected to see that we both had no water. NO MINTS AFTER MEAL!!!!!! I am so used to eating a little peppermint after meals or some candies at viet restaurants but nothing. Highly disappointed. Never come here, your money will be more valuable elsewhere

Ask the Community - Brodard Restaurant

Does the sauce for the spring roll have peanut?

Yes it does

Will they be opened on Christmas day (25th) for 2023. Do they take reservations? Thanks all.

Yes,they take reservations. I don't know about Christmas Day, but it would be a delightful place to go!

How long do the pork and shrimp rolls last for? Can I get them a day in advance for a party or will it not taste good overnight?

The rice paper gets hard and dried out but maybe if you put a moist towel over the tray it will help. I'd call the restaurant and ask to be sure but I wouldn't recommend it. And the sauce is served warm.

Is this place ayce?

No.

As of July 17 2022 does brodard have outdoor dining?

Unfortunately they do not. But because of the location it's best that they don't. You would be overlooking a Parking Lot.

Pet friendly ? Do you allow pet inside the establishment? Small breed

No. So glad they don't.

Is Brodard still offering outdoor dining?

I didn't see any outside. They are busy enough with inside tables. 🙂

Does their spring roll sauce have peanuts in it?

Yes.

Is there still outdoor dining? I called and the person who picked up seemed confused?

Nope.

Do they have outside dining?

Nope

Do you have gift certificates?

Yes. I received one for my birthday. Lunch was great.

If you had only two choices only, which spring rolls are a must try?

Definitely try the Grilled Pork Spring Rolls - Nem Nuớng Cuốn, with their warm house special sauce!

How much is a catering tray for 50 rolls of nem nuong rolls?

They're $2.25 per roll, doesn't matter if you order in bulk. So it'll be $112.50

Does business accept EBT card?

Nope

My kids have peanut allergies. How safe would it be for them to eat egg roll/vermcelli if I tell the staff we have a peanut allergy (worried about cross contamination)?

They use peanut in a lot of their dishes and sauces. Very easy to have cross contamination. For a very busy restaurant with a lot of workers running around hectically, no matter how careful they try to be, mistakes can happen. Depending on how… Read more

Is it still possible to buy the nem nuong separately (and frozen)?

Yes. They sell them a la carte and with the dipping sauce. You can freeze them yourself, but they are best when fresh.

Do they accept cash or is it cashless during the pandemic?

They accept both cash and card and even online payment.

Do their spring roll dipping sauce contain any kind of meat?

No it's a peanut based sauce

Now the restaurants are allowed indoor dining, do they still keep the tents for outdoor dining?

Yes they had the tents for outdoor dining.

Is the Brodard gift card redeemable for online orders? I do not see an option for it on the website.

Be prepared for a wait anywhere from 20-40 minutes, but it's honestly worth it. I ordered the 10-piece banh khot, and the portion size was huge! The banh khot was crispy on the outside, soft in the middle, and had such a good savory flavor with the perfect crunch. The inside is super cute and simple, though probably better for smaller groups rather than big parties. Overall, such a good experience and absolutely worth the wait! Would definitely come again!!

3.5 but the owner 10 stars!…read more I've had Banh khot lady on my hit list for a very long time. Somehow I stumbled upon Banh khot Vung tau first and it's hard not to compare the differences, hence the 3 rating. I'm not in HB/Westminster/FV/GG area that often. I'm usually there once a month for a pedicure. So after my pedicure my cravings always hit for Banh khot or Banh cuon or Spring rolls .If I can have all 3 at once that would be my death row meal LOL. Anywho I wanted my Vung tau, I came in an hr before closing and the owner had a sign out the door about closing an hr earlier for his daughter's birthday, which I respect wholeheartedly. I was going to go home defeated but I was like oh yea let me try Banh khot Lady ! It was only a mile and a half away. I pull up and my Lord the parking lot is a clusterf*ck. School was out so trying to pull in with the herd of teens crossing was overwhelming, somehow I got the last space right up front. It was Banh khot Wednesday so they were busy as hell!!!! The owner asked if I had a pick up order, I didn't, then he asked if I ever been there, also no. He broke it down, very straightforward menu. He had personality plus was so awesome to everyone coming in. I ordered 9 banh khots , a five piece egg roll and a bag of Chicarron. Wait wasn't too long for me but after it was for others placing their order right there. Fantastic timing on my part. I was starving so I opened the bag of chicarron and OMG CRAAAAACK!!!! I couldn't stop eating them. I had to force myself to stop so I didn't get sick. These were small crackling type pieces, not big puffed chicarron like a liquor store pork rind. I'd totally get it again! 10 stars! Got home, cracked open the Banh khot, I tried one naked without the lettuce mint cilantro fish sauce. Their Banh khot is drastically different than Vung. BKL banh khot were shrimp and pork together. The batter was thick like a mini pancake and spongy, a tad bland. I was too spoiled with Vungs banh khot, their BK are thin and crispy, like a delicious crispy shrimp crepe and lots of green onions and crack pepper sauce along with fish sauce. BKL could definitely use a pepper sauce and go heavy handed with the green onion to top. The texture just wasn't for me. Now the egg rolls! Those were damn delicious!!! Packed with protein. So good with wrapping them with the lettuce mix you're given. Dipped in fish sauce and added Sambal oelek , perfect bite! I'd easily come back for these! I'll definitely come back to BKL, for those addicting chicarrons and egg rolls and fantastic service. I'll get my BK at Vung and head over to BKL for the egg rolls LOL. Kill two birds with one stone. Don't be discouraged on trying their BKs , we all have different tastes. Texture and comparisons really weigh my judgment :)

Her transparency, responsiveness, attention-to-detail and professionalism consistently set her apart. Brittany was always proactive and reliable; we never had to chase for answers or run around in circles. One of the greatest advantages was her delivery of timely, updated quotes--something we deeply appreciated for effective budget management. Even before we booked the venue, Brittany walked us through detailed rain contingency plans, which proved invaluable when we encountered a once-in-a-blue-moon torrential downpour on our wedding day. As a bride coordinating family travel from across the globe--while also navigating significant challenges with an approved vendor--Brittany stepped in at critical moments and ensured the day ran smoothly from an operational standpoint. Our guests could not stop praising the outstanding, multicultural food (especially the bulgogi beef bao, dessert stations and confetti cake) and the thoughtful allergy accommodations, which were handled seamlessly. Guest experience was one of our top priorities, and Brittany's execution gave us complete confidence. On our wedding day, anything within her scope was something we never had to worry about - and the food was one of the TOP compliments received from guests. The only feedback we strongly encourage the business to consider is a thorough audit of its approved vendor list. Unfortunately, our greatest challenges stemmed from a vendor on this list. Brittany's efforts were instrumental in mitigating issues caused by this vendor that could have otherwise impacted the success of the event. The strength of Serra Plaza's internal team deserves to be matched by the same standard across all required vendors to protect future couples. Beyond this, our experience was exceptional, and we are deeply grateful for Brittany's leadership and support. Thank you to the full team for stepping up to the plate when we needed it the most to execute the best day ever. This is long overdue! My husband and I had our wedding here last summer and it was amazing!! When…read morewe toured the venue, Matt (the owner's son) did not pressure us to sign a contract and suggested we decide after the menu tasting. Our family can be particular about food so it was awesome we could customize the food to our liking. We upgraded dishes for additional costs, asked to switch noodle types, use less oil, add more sauce, etc. Come the day of the wedding, our relatives and friends loved the food!! The whole lobster noodles and steamed whole fish were a hit. We also loved the open bar and how we were able to create a "his and hers" drink - Matt came up with the cocktail creations! Paracel is a family business and you can tell Matt and his parents enjoy what they do and how it brings their customers happiness. We had our ceremony and reception at the venue to make it easier for our guests. Ceremony space is smaller (just about the space of the dance floor) but the reception dinner space can hold a little over 300 people. We also had lion dancers (Paracel allowed which was awesome!) but it was a bit snug when we had 32 tables. Matt did caution us of the tight space with that many tables but we made it work! There's a large screen behind the stage for any videos to play, along with a large stage for the sweetheart table, cake, and DJ. We also hired Matt as our MC & DJ!! As the MC, Matt was able to get everyone's attention and help with entertainment. 10/10 recommend Matt as DJ!! He knows how to get the dance floor going that even the aunties and uncles joined in!! Matt also knew how to work the lighting and fog machines to add extra vibes to the dance floor. My friends raved how he was the best DJ they've ever heard at a wedding and every song was so good. We also supplied foam light sticks for our guests and it was so fun! Matt was always available via phone call or text whenever we had any questions or concerns for our wedding. Sometimes it may take a few days for him to respond (he's super busy!) but when he does, he provides the utmost detail and attention. We really felt we were able to create a wedding that was our own! On the day of our wedding, Matt reviewed the timeline with us and helped make sure everyone was on schedule. Megan was also helping out the day of our wedding too! The venue space was also nicely decorated already so the only decorations we really focused on were florals and signage! Paracel had a beautiful floral backdrop near the entrance that we used for welcome photos. We were able to fit a photobooth and donut/boba table comfortably in the back area. They used to have a cute patio in front of the venue but it was removed during renovations. It would've been nice to have that during the reception for guests to chill outside. Plenty of parking for guests and shops nearby if guests come earlier. Overall, would recommend Paracel for any event and trust Matt and his family to take care of your needs.

Food was a major concern for our wedding, and we are very happy we went with Paracel. We wanted a…read moreChinese banquet dinner, but we had sticker shock with the options in SoCal/Orange County. Paracel's pricing was better than most vendors, and they were open to cooking at our selected venue. We got rave reviews from our guests about the food. There was a large variety of dishes so there was something for everyone's tastes. Some stand-out dishes were the fish maw soup, lobster with garlic egg noodles, roasted duck, filet mignon beef, and honey walnut shrimp. As the bride and groom, we also had the same dishes as the guests in smaller but still plentiful portions for two. Paracel served vegetarian and gluten-free meals to the right guests, and those guests with these dietary restrictions said they had a delicious and satisfying meal. Even our vendors enjoyed the vendor meals. A unique item Paracel provided were Lazy Susans that had a hole in the middle for the centerpiece to sit in so it would not take space from the food. It added to the traditional feel of the dining experience. The feedback we received from guests was the food got taken away too quickly, so maybe timing could be improved, although all the guests said waiters were courteous about asking to take the dishes away and leaving a dish if the table was still working on it. Regarding the planning process, Matthew was open to setting up phone calls. Matthew worked closely with our venue and ensured Paracel chefs would be able to cook on-site. Paracel was also flexible with us swapping dishes from the set menu with ones we felt our guests would enjoy more. Their portal allowed for real-time changes to the menu, which was helpful during our final calls ahead of the wedding. For the tasting, the meal did not include all our specific menu items and appetizers, but it gave a good sample of most of their main courses. It actually worked out as some of the dishes from the tasting that we did not have on our original menu ended up being so good we decided to add them/switch a dish. We were able to bring a small group of family members to try the tasting. In the year that had passed from our tasting to our wedding, Paracel tweaked their recipes for the better too. We were nervous because the quality and quantity of food were a big deal to our families, but the guests were impressed and no one left hungry. We thank Paracel for making our wedding a delicious one!
