If you're curious about Northern Vietnamese cuisine, Ngon is definitely worth checking out! We started with the Bún Chả Cá, a noodle soup with crab cakes that was incredibly flavorful and aromatic. The broth had so much depth without feeling overly heavy, and the crab cakes were a delicious addition. We also ordered the Chả Cốm, which honestly reminded me of chicken nuggets--but probably a healthier, more Vietnamese version of McDonald's nuggets. Crispy, savory, and really fun to snack on. Ngon specializes in Northern Vietnamese cuisine, so if you're already a fan or want to explore a different regional style of Vietnamese food, this is a great place to try. The restaurant itself is also new, modern, and beautifully designed, which makes the whole experience feel fresh and inviting. Definitely adding this one to my list of spots to revisit!
Came for a group get together. Was really spacious and open and great for large groups. The bun cha Hanoi was really good, I've never had it before but I kept seeing videos and wanted to check it out. Really fresh and tasty and well priced. It's a new spot and it has good vibes. Service was well paced, really chill.
Well... sometimes the universe closes one restaurant early so you can accidentally find something WAY better. We originally had plans to eat somewhere else, but after finding them closed early, we pivoted to Ngon and that may have been the best decision of the night. Before the food even arrived, the atmosphere had already won us over. The restaurant is beautiful, warm, modern, and just immediately feels like you're about to have a good meal. We started with the Trà nhài xoài (mango jasmine tea) and Trà nhài đào (peach jasmine tea). My partner took the mango while I went peach, and BOTH were amazing. The jasmine tea was super flavorful and the fruit jam gave them just the right amount of sweetness. Then the Bánh Mì Chảo Bò Wagyu arrived SIZZLING. I'm talking full sensory overload. You hear the cast iron coming. You smell everything cooking. You see it bubbling away in front of you. At that point I was just waiting for permission to attack it. But can we talk about that French roll?! Fresh, crispy on the outside, ridiculously soft inside. I tore off a piece and dunked it straight into the juices from the skillet and pâté... GOOD. LORD. Even the little side salad was perfectly dressed! Then came the Bún Chả Hà Nội, and this thing was a FEAST. A mountain of noodles and fresh vegetables alongside a bowl filled with grilled pork and pork patties swimming in that delicious sauce. Fresh noodles, crisp veggies, tender meat, every bite had something going on. And that's what impressed me most about Ngon. Usually there's one dish where I go, "Yep, THAT was the winner." Not here. The Wagyu was amazing. The bún chả was amazing. The bread was amazing. The salad was amazing. The TEA was amazing. Nothing had to carry the meal because everything on the table delivered. For a restaurant named Ngon, they definitely lived up to it. Ngon nhức nách!
I was craving Vietnamese food, so my boyfriend and I decided to try this spot after seeing an instagram reel and the reviews on Yelp. This place was definitely "Ngon"! We asked the server for recommendations and ended up ordering their Bun Cha, egg rolls and Wagyu Bo Ne. The Bun Cha came on a decent sized platter. This dish was packed with flavor. Smokiness from the pork, plus a broth that complimented the protein, vermicelli and fresh herbs. Definitely hit the spot and reminded me of our time in Hanoi. The egg rolls were also delicious. I had a very similar version when we visited Da Nang. We appreciated the crispiness and how light the wrapping was. My boyfriend raved about the Bo Ne. The meat was very tender and the sauce took the dish to another level. Also, the price is very fair for the portion size. We'll definitely be back for more deliciousness.
Ngon means "delicious" in Vietnamese, and I couldn't agree more! This was our first visit and we loved it. The restaurant has a modern decor, tucked in a humble plaza. We ordered the Bun Cha Ha Noi (grilled pork with rice noodles and fish sauce), Thit Heo Cuon Banh Trang (steamed pork and veggies wrapped in rice paper), and Com Canh Ga Chien Mam (rice with fish sauce chicken wings). The Bun Cha Ha Noi was especially flavorful - the fish sauce was perfect and the fresh herbs added freshness to every bite. The other standout was definitely the wings, topped with an incredible sauce and onion mixture. To die for! I do wish the portion sizes were a bit bigger, but everything was so tasty it just left us wanting more ((: Can't wait to come back and try more dishes!

They should change their name to 'dở' (meaning bad). My family is convinced that this location is cursed. The restaurant that they replaced also wasn't very successful, and we don't really see this place lasting very long either. I kind of already knew that this place was going to be a letdown when I first saw the sign outside. A lot of these modern Vietnamese restaurants focus way too much on the aesthetics instead of maintaining tasty, authentic recipes. My sister wanted to try this place, though, after seeing someone rave about it on social media. The menu offers a decent range of items, but everything was either extremely salty or completely bland. I absolutely love bánh mì chảo and found that it was the only decent item that we had. My dad is obsessed with mắm nêm and loves any dish where you get to dip something in it, but theirs was so salty and incredibly difficult to finish. * Bánh Mì Chảo Bò Wagyu: 8/10 - wagyu was salty and I wish they gave me a larger baguette * Bún Măng Vịt: 5/10 - broth was bland, and fish sauce had no ginger * Bánh Đa Cua Hải Phòng: 6/10 - soup could've had more flavor * Thịt Heo Cuốn Bánh Tráng Mắm Nêm: 6/10 - mắm nêm was so salty and bitter The interior, however, is quite beautiful and I love how they offer booth seating. Our waiter was working by himself, and we appreciated how hard he was working. One thing we didn't like, however, was that he didn't tell us that there would be an extra charge for asking for more mắm nêm. I feel like any type of additional charge should always be notified instead of just adding it to our bill. Disappointing to say the least. It would be 1 star if it wasn't for the nice interior and good service.
Vietnamese flavors with touch of Hanoian dishes. Its not really authentic but it's closed enough. The vibe is like restaurants you find in Vietnam. It brings memories. Food is decent, recommend Pho. It has decent hanoinan flavors and doesn't come with herbs (that's how it's supposed to be)
came for a weekday dinner. inside was quite warm especially with the hot weather we've been having. took a bit to get our order in because they were tending to a larger party ordered their spring rolls to share and they were a good size, vegetables were fresh too. our soups came out piping hot which was awesome. my friends preferred a little less fried shallots in their dishes. they feel like it overpowered their dishes. we liked the pickled garlic provided on the table

I genuinely really enjoyed my lunch here. For reference, Com Tam Thuan Kieu used to exist here. With the new restaurant, the space got a glow up and honestly, the finishes are so nice. They specialize in mostly Northern cuisine (so trendy). My sister and I started with an order of bánh mì que ($10.55 for 3 pcs). The mini baguettes are filled with pate and topped with pork floss. I didn't love the version here. I found the baguette to be too soft and the pate was slathered in excess. Yikes. Not to my liking. For entrees, we shared the following: -thịt heo cuốn bánh tráng mắm nêm ($19.55) -bún chả Hà Nội ($17.55) Their version of bún chả Hà Nội is quite good. There's good flavoring in the sauce. The meat is nicely charred and they give you plenty of hamburger patties. This is one of the better renditions I've had in a while, To be honest, I've only ever eaten thịt heo cuốn bánh tráng mắm nêm at my mama's house, so this was an absolute treat. The platter comes with pork belly, veggies, vermicelli, slivers of pineapple, and bi (shredded pork skin). They clearly took notes from the motherland because I've only encountered fresh pieces of pineapple in Vietnam. The inclusion of pineapple is shockingly good. It helps cut the saltiness if the mắm. And while people tend to include pineapple pieces in the mắm nêm, I like thatthey went to the direct source and give you fresh pineapple. Refreshing and perfect to the spring roll. I can see why this place is not for everyone - prices are a bit high and some of the dishes are new new so there's no baseline to compare it to. I, on the other hand, had a really good dining experience here. Highly recommend checking this spot out. It's spacious enough to host large groups as well.

Me and my husband saw this place pop up on Instagram and then we checked on YELP to make sure it had good ratings!!! We were in the area so we decided to have lunch here... We were ALSO one of the first customers in the restaurant today. I was really excited to try a dish I saw on Yelp called "Bahn Cuon thit nuong" but sadly they said they didn't have it. So maybe they should take off that picture? It's like their front cover picture... CRAB MEAT EGG ROLLS: 10/10 Be careful! It's so hot it burnt my tongue. The texture was really nice and crunchy and the filling was good... PHO: 9/10 It was pretty good. The broth was on the sweet side AND they DON'T HAVE JALAPEÑOS!!!??? FISH & VERMICELLI DISH: 7/10 presentation was beautiful! Looks like beauty was only on the outside for this dish. The fish was extremely dry and kind of cold. The sauce is very watery and on the sour side as well... SERVICE: B- There were friendly but, we had to flag them down for everything we needed like jalapeno, Togo boxes, ordering additional items, plates, etc. Also, you have to pay at the cashier... The food was decent and had some interesting dishes. We were intrigued because they had unique dishes you don't normally see in Vietnamese restaurants. Although the food was decent, their cleanliness needs improvement. Our food came out and I immediately noticed a piece of hair on the plate. Their woven bowl for utensils was also dirty and oily. Ordered their Pho Bo Hanoi - Output time - 5 minutes for main. 1.5 minutes for beverages to arrive. Proteins - Mainly consisted of rare steak fatty brisket. Broth 3.5/5 Portions- Fair amount of meat. The person in charge of slicing the flanks needs to cut the pieces into smaller flaps. The flank flaps were large and are a choking hazard. Value - pretty pricey while having little to none customization. Temperature- The rare steak was tender however the broth was still not hot enough to cook the beef all the way through which some pieces were discarded at the end of the meal. Freshness 5/5 Basils were Not a speck or hint of spoilage. Overall the Pho here is mix of (Pho Thin Franchise) and slight resemblance of home made pho style. Decor - is modern and gives off Vegas vibes settings. Parking is ample so be prepared to find residential Spots. read more

I remember going back to Vietnam and trying a place called Ngon. It was so impressive and thought this was the same concept, but it unfortunately wasn't. I saw they had some Bun Cha Ha Noi, so decided to give it a try anyway. We ended up going with the entire family. Upon arriving, we noticed that there was very limited parking in front of the restaurant. We had to park across the street and walk over. When we walked in, they let us know that it would be a 5-10 minute wait for a table for 6. We ended up waiting probably 15 or more minutes, but they were kind and apologized for the wait. We ended up ordering the following: Pho: Surprisingly, this was pretty good! I liked how the broth was not too fatty and like how they served it with fresh thick noodle instead of the default skinny noodle. The broth was flavorful, but I wish they would allow us to switch up the meat options. Bun Cha Ha Noi: This was good! I liked the sauce that it came in and the meat itself was not as fatty as I have seen it at other places. The veggie and bun portion was good for the amount of meat that they give you. I think this was worth the price. Crab Spring Rolls: These were meaty and crispy. We ended up getting the whole plate instead of just the appetizer since it seemed like a better deal. Although these were good, I kind of got flavor fatigue and was not able to eat more than just 1 roll. Banh Mi Que: This dish comes with 3 banh mi que and it was honestly pricey for what you get. The banh mi was a bit burnt and the pate and cha bong portion was lacking. Although it met the banh mi que craving, I would not get it again. Overall, this place was good. I wouldn't say I am dying to return and have the good again, but it was nice and clean. The only thing I would have to complain about is the overall smell in the restaurant. It smelled like dirty mop water or like an overhwhelming scent of vinegar if they are using that as a cleaning product. The staff was not very attentive and we were struggling to call them over several times during the meal. If you pay in cash, you do get a discount! read more
We ordered Bun cha Hanoi and Mien cua tron. The Bun cha was excellent, the grilled meats came out in the usual nuoc mam pha but it was warm! What a great idea. The taste was on point, the edges of the meat still retained bits of crispiness. The mien cua tron was enjoyable although don't expect lumps of crab. The broth had a deep earthiness to it. It lacked the brightness of herbs which I remedied by adding mint and basil from the Bun cha. The portions are generous. The space is airy and quite attractive. Plenty of parking. read more
Ambiance was the only thing that was good about here. Came early for dinner so we were the first and we thought they were close but open. Ordered what usually seen in all of influencers pages because you can't go wrong with what's frequently recommended right...wrong! The soup seemed so gelatinous and with a bit of a fishy smell even though it was shrimp. Only 2 pieces of shrimp... although I enjoyed the fermented veggies but felt like we ate a leftover fried tofu. Hot only in the center pieces but the rest of periphery was cold. Too much expectation from the influencers videos can really often set you up for disappointment. Not your typical ambiance Vietnamese restaurant that is with that mom and pop feel but really with authentic taste.... Not this one, I can skip a return here. Maybe the cook was just warming up but we were disappointed. I would not have mind paying the $46 combo but I felt it was too much for the quality you receive. read more
The space is very clean and has good lighting. There's a lot of staff to help when it gets busy but we noticed it was a little hard to waive someone over when we wanted to order or ask for extra napkins etc. Our food came out before we got our water/drinks which was a little odd. The orange + carrot juice combo is really good. I can see why it's recommended and they squeeze it when you order. If you leave a Google review, any one drink is free! Bun Mang is too salty, even with added limes. There's too much MSG, and the duck was a little chewier than our preference, so we will stick to ordering this at other restaurants in OC. The Banh Mi Chao was really good. The bread is toasted to order, and came out hot. The flavors were great, but you don't notice the quality of the wagyu since it's doused in all the sauce. We would order this again! The Bun Cha was huge. As someone who eats a great amount, I left feeling satisfied, and it's quality food. I put it on par with the other restaurants in the area, but this portion size is bigger. The flavors are all there and my family would order this again. read more
On Sunday, my family and I went to Garden Grove to shop for Vietnamese items, then I yelped and located Ngon Restaurant. The place looks sleek and inviting, and we were seated soon away. We ordered the Bun Rieu (Vietnamese crab noodle soup), Pho Bo Ha Noi (Hanoi beef noodle soup), Bun Mang Vit (duck noodle soup with bamboo shoots), and the Combo, which includes Ca Kho Hoac Thit Kho Trung (braised fish/caramelized pork with egg), Canh Tom Mung Toi (Vietnamese spinach soup with shrimp), Dau Phu Tam Hanh (fried tofu with onions), Dua Cai Chua (pickled mustard greens), and Com Trang (steamed rice). When all of the food arrived at our table, the taste seemed odd, and we didn't particularly enjoy it... The combo set, in particular, does not appear to be worth $47.10 ($23.55 per person with a minimum of two persons), which is too pricey. The food was bland and the serving sizes were small; the Fried Tofu with Onions lacked flavor. We hadn't yet finished our food when I requested the waiter to bring us some to-go boxes to take home. The server just brought over a small to-go soup container. Hello!! We need more to-go boxes!! We all did not enjoy all the food, and the service was horrible. Stopped by on a Monday night and was pleasantly surprised by how spacious the restaurant was. The interior is modern and well-designed, and since it wasn't very busy, we were seated right away with no wait. Our food also came out pretty quickly, which I appreciated. That said, the menu felt a little limited, and the food itself didn't quite live up to expectations. We started with the crab meat spring rolls. They were nice and crispy, but I honestly couldn't taste much crab in the filling. I also ordered the dry crab red noodle mix, which ended up being the biggest disappointment of the meal. There wasn't much crab flavor at all. The noodles tasted very bland and felt slightly undercooked, almost like plain noodles with very little seasoning. There was a bit of liquid sitting at the bottom of the bowl, but it didn't add any noticeable flavor or help bring the dish together. Overall, the restaurant has a nice atmosphere, fast service, and plenty of seating, but the food lacked the flavor I was hoping for. Honestly, I thoroughly enjoyed my dining experience at Ngon. I had this place bookmarked for a while now so I decided to go with my family. Yes it's located in a strip mall and yes it's nicer than most Vietnamese restaurants in Westminster/garden grove but the quality of the food was really good. We ordered the egg rolls, pho, bun cha hanoi and ca nuong. All of the dishes were super tasty! I also thought the service was good too. I mean it's not gonna be over the top service like what you'd get at Mastros but it was still pretty good. This is definitely on my list of to go viet restaurants. read more

I've been in a phase of making my own Vietnamese food/rolls lately and was excited to try this place, but unfortunately left disappointed. We ordered these two below, and overall sauces were not good, veggie proportions for the meal was off, quality was lacking and inconsistent, meat was not great. Vermicelli with crab meat spring rolls (Bun Nem cua be)- saw crab meat and wanted to try it, but it tasted nothing like crab. The rolls themselves were hot and crispy, and enjoyable when fresh. The fish sauce on the side was lacking and could've had much more flavor if it was better. Pork wrapped in rice paper (Thit heo cuon banh thang mam nem)- Underwhelming. So little carrots and the pork slices were very thin and tasteless. Also it was interesting that it includes pineapple slices. The fermented sauce was not good at all. Viet Coffee was also not filled all the way, despite already having a lot of ice, and it was overly sweet. I added water just to balance it out a bit. The restaurant itself looks modern, clean, and nicely designed, but overall I wasn't impressed with the gimmicky presentation and the food didn't live up to expectations. read more

new spot pretty goood . we got the pho bo ha noi n thit khong n give both 8/10. i loveee the carrot orange juice n the vibes here give modernized but they don't slack on flavor. service was fast too read more
