It really nails that traditional Northern-style flavor profile. Pro tip: make sure to mix in some sa tế, as it completely amplifies the broth and takes it to the next level! Also, I'm so hyped that the Cháo Sườn Quẩy is FINALLY back on the menu! It came out piping hot and is just as comforting as I remember. Bánh Ướt Đặc Biệt - $14.50 Steamed rice sheets topped with pork patties, fried tofu, and fresh vegetables, served with a house fish sauce. We got the banh mi appetizer that they advertise everywhere and I thought it was just alright. 7/10- it was warm and yummy but nothing i would go out of my way to get. Easy, free parking in a shared plaza with Kei Coffee House. This is a casual, sit-down restaurant. I ordered the salted lemon soda, the sticky rice with sausage and pâté, and the bun cha Ha Noi. The salted lemon soda was incredible--by far my favorite version of this drink so far. It was perfect: not too sweet, not too salty, but with a great kick. I'd definitely order it again. The sticky rice was good, but nothing special in my opinion. I enjoyed the rice itself and the sausage was typical, but once the pâté cooled down, the texture became less satisfying and felt a bit dry. As for the bun cha Ha Noi, the flavors were great, but the portion was tiny. Getting only two small patties and four pieces of pork belly felt a bit outrageous for the price. 4/19/25 Spring break 2025 We arrived half past the hour after opening. There is a waitlist checkin kiosk but it wasn't operational upon arrival. We had a short 5 minute wait and seated fairly quickly however we had to flag them down to order after waiting an additional 7 minutes. We started our orders with appetizers and ordered in order the (1) Cha Nem and (2) Banh Mi Pate Que (comes with 2) followed by our (2) Pho Bac Dac Biet and (1) Banh Da Cua Hai Phong noodle orders. Asked for soybean milk, coconut blended coffee and 3 ice waters. First out was our 3 noodle bowls followed by the (2) paté baquette order. Our drinks shortly followed. We noticed a few tables being served the nem eggrolls but ours wasn't out yet. Half way through eating our noodles, we flagged and asked our server if the Cha Nem was coming. He said he would check and came back telling us it was coming and almost done. My boys love paté so we ordered another serving for them. When this additional order of paté baquettes came out before our cha nem, we decided to ask again where our order was with the older gentleman (owner). He went to check his tablet to see if we ordered it, saw that we did and went to the kitchen and I guess ordered it. This one dish came out after we were all done with our 3 app orders, 3 noodles and drinks. It was just shy of an hour that we received the very first dish we ordered. :O (1) Cha Nem - Northern style egg rolls filled with shrimp, pork, and crab (3 small eggrolls - served cut in half with lettuce and herbs) - crispy and warm and pretty good! Just disappointed in the severe wait and unapologetic service. (2+1) Banh Mi Pate Que - comes with 2 Banh mi, Hai Phong style paté and shredded pork in house special sauce - this is a slightly chunky paté vs the paste you usually get in traditional Vietnamese sandwiches. (1) Banh Da Cua Hai Phong - described as Authentic Hai Phong crab soup with flat red noodle, chả lá lốt, meat ball, and shrimp - pretty good, light clean crab flavored broth. (2) Pho Bac Dac Biet - Pho noodle, rare ribeye, brisket and flank - meat was very tender, sliced thin. Broth wasn't sweet like many others we've tried. While food was all pretty darn good, the service and acknowledgment of us as patrons was lacking big time. Hopefully we get treated better next time. read more

Absolutely unexpected treasure of a spot! Driving home from the OC, we Yelped a lunch spot in Westminster and decided on SEN Vietnamese Cuisine and wow, did we luck out. This isn't your typical pho-and-banh-mi place. The menu's more focused, a little unfamiliar, but that's the magic. I ordered the Mien Tron Sen. I never heard of it before. It blew my mind!!! Think Filipino pancit's cooler Vietnamese cousin: soft, glassy noodles tossed with shrimp, shredded chicken, and BBQ pork, all tied together with crispy fried garlic. Pure heaven in your mouth. My wife and boy got the same dish in Bun Cha Ha Noi, which came with grilled pork and a juicy pork patty (yeah, a patty sounded weird, but trust) over vermicelli, dunked in this sweet-savory fish sauce magic. Unreal. And FYI, the leftovers heat up nicely. Place was packed with Vietnamese families, service was fast and friendly, and bonus: tons of parking in a chill strip mall. I don't like having hot food served in plastic vessels. The fried egg rolls were delicious 9/10. Crunchy but not hard. They were tasty. Bún Đậu mắm tôm 7/10 fried tofu were good, bún was on point. Chả cốm was good but the sause was too pungent which is a turn off. I think it needs more lemongrass and fresh pineapple. I tried the Miến Trộn Sen (Khô), which was enjoyable and satisfying. The dry glass noodles were well-prepared, and the broth that comes on the side was better than I expected -- rich, flavorful, and well-seasoned. I wish the dish came with more veggies or a plate of fresh greens like lettuce, celery, or extra bean sprouts... a small addition like that could've taken the dish from good to excellent. I also had the Bún Chả Hà Nội, and I appreciated that they were able to substitute the vermicelli noodles with steamed rice paper (bánh ướt) -- a really neat and delicious twist. The grilled pork and dipping sauce were on point. Both were good and I would recommend both. I've already been twice in a few weeks and I'm looking forward to coming back! I've been on the hunt for bun cha and this place might be the go-to in the area. It had huge portions and the pork and sauce and sides were reminiscent, if not, almost as good as you can get in Hanoi. The brisket pho was solid, but the dry noodles were incredibly tasty with the marinated pork, shrimp, garlic, bran sprouts, green onion, and the side of rich broth. We also had the coconut coffee, which was almost as good as having it the first time in Hanoi. The restaurant is a bit hard to find since there's no banner nor sign with their name on the top and there was construction going on in front of the restaurant. There was no one in the restaurant other than myself at the time. The owner was eating lunch herself. I ordered the bun cha Ha Noi since I see so many good reviews for on Yelp. Told the server I would like all lean meat and no fat please, as I know the grilled pork for this dish can be fatty. He nodded his head and said okay. Well, when he brought the food out, it was a tiny bowl of meat and half of it were thin slices of pork full of fat! Told him for health reasons, I can't eat fatty meat, please let the kitchen know. He came in the kitchen and 2 minutes later came out and told me that's how it is and there's "very little" fat. I wish he would have told me that when I ordered, I would have ordered something else. So disappointing! It was 4:00 pm and I haven't had anything to eat all day, I went ahead and tried to eat what I can from that serving. The meat definitely is missing the flavor of the charcoal grill. Fish sauce was decent but that's about it. I've had it much better at other places. :( Was going to bring my family here but forget it, I will not return. We came here on a Sunday for lunch and was worried we would have to wait long but, thankfully there was a table they were clearing up. Although this place is popular with the locals, they take orders and clean their tables fast. There was almost never an empty table and later on in our meal, a short line formed. It is very very noisy with all the chatter inside and tables are placed pretty close to one another. The dishes were mostly good, but drinks like the coffee and peach iced tea were just alright. I'm a novice when it comes to Viet food so it would've been helpful to have a picture menu. I ordered the Banh Da Cua Hai Phong and wasn't a fan of the "flat red noodle", but the soup and other ingredients were good. My husband and mom got the Hu Tieu and Mien Tron Sen which were like stir fried dry noodles with a side of soup and both liked those dishes. I tried them also and the flavor really slaps. I came here with a group of friends and the wait staff was very accommodating! They took care of the table arrangement and promptly had our water and utensils prepped and ready for us. After they took our orders, the food all came out pretty much all at the same time. I tried the dry egg noodle and soup on the side. The flat noodle were cooked nicely and was delicious. I bookmarked this place and finally tried it out today. There were only a couple that were eating there when I entered the restaurant, and it was around noon on a Sunday, so that was not a good sign. I ordered two items, Bún Cha Cá Thì Là and Bún Chả Hà Nội. Both items were below average. The soup item was the worst. It tasted like plain water with added herb, small, round, thin and dried fish cake and cubed tomatoes. I certainly could have cooked it myself at least 5x better than whoever made this soup. I am not even exaggerating, the soup practically tasted like plain water with no seasoning/flavor. I was beyond disappointed with the food quality. This dish originated in Ha Noi and it comes with rice noodles, lots of veggies, and the meatballs drenched in fish sauce. It's a perfect meal for lunch or dinner because it's quite filling. The flavor of the meat is very flavorful, juicy, and tender. It may taste salty, but that's why you incorporate it with the rice and vegetables. Such a good combo.
