We ordered the 3-Chicken Doner Wrap, 7-Chicken Doner Pide, 10-Beef Doner Plate, and the 17-Beef Ikram Special. Everything was solid. The meat was cooked just right, seasoned well, and portions were really good. The #10 beef doner plate was probably my favorite simple but really tasty. Another night of take out and decided to get some Turkish food! The parking is always challenging but somehow we always find a spot. The restaurant itself is clean. The staff very friendly. We love their breads even when we don't get a meal but we were set for a meal this round. I ordered the beef doner plate with the sauce on the side. Ikram Grill is a Fountain Valley staple for Turkish food. I stopped by on MLK Day for lunch and there were a lot of people coming and going, most of them taking it to go. I know they're famous for their shawarma so I opted for the beef doner pide which comes with an insane amount of meat all packed between flatbread that's put in a panini press after you decide which toppings you want. I got everything except pickles and the sandwich was near exploding. However, the meat was a lot tougher than I thought it'd be, considering it looked so juicy. I also got the mixed doner plate for my brother which is why I know the chicken is better than the beef. It was surprisingly more tender and flavorful. I chose a dessert based on the worker's recommendation and she said her favorite was the triangle baklava, I think. It wasn't the most popular one but since it was filled with cream it added an extra depth to the crispy phyllo dough. Amazing hospitality and food! It's so hard to find proper Turkish food in Orange County because everyone uses doner/shawarma interchangeably even when it's not actually Turkish. Anyway, my boyfriend and I both ordered pide sandwiches, one mixed and one beef, and they were DELICIOUS. Massive portions too, the pictures I added don't do the size justice. Meat was well seasoned with the proper spices for Turkish flavor profile. Bonus points for having fresh bread as an option for our sandwiches, and being able to customize toppings. The veggies were fresh and they have so many delicious sauces, including hummus- to dress your sandwich. We were so stuffed halfway through our sandwich & my leftovers were enough for a large snack later on in the day. A small, quick doner stop with a straightforward menu. Choose a protein (beef *loaded* with lamb fat, chicken, or falafel), a vehicle of delivery (wrap, pide bread, or French fries), and inhale. Counter service is fast and succinct, just tell them what number on the menu you want and what toppings to not put on, and let them work their magic. It's a small and narrow eatery without any frills, but it really doesn't need any. We wanted to try both meats so we got a combo wrap and a combo pide. Everything was delicious but when we come back I'm definitely getting a beef pide, it's super fatty and juicy and flavorful and much more filling than the wrap. Veggies and sauces were tasty and gave the right amount of lube; I'm not big on onions but their pickled onions were sweet and not too powerful. The baklava were delicious, the kadayif was crispy and sweet without hurting your mouth, and the carrot slice baklava was almost oppressively sweet but hit the spot. It's overall an unassuming spot good for a quick informal meal. 1000% worth checking out, we'll be back regularly. I ordered a mixed chicken and beef doner plate ($19) which comes with lettuce, tomato, red onions, cucumbers, pickles, and peppers topped with three different sauces + hot sauce. The assembly is quick and customizable like a Mediterranean Chipotle. They give a good sized portion. The meats were tender, soft and flavorful, and the sauces added a nice creamy mix to the bite. Aesthetic & Ambience: 6.5/10 minimal aesthetic with portraits and artwork on the walls, but I enjoyed the open roasting meat, and service line style options when creating my dish. I went during lunch so it was mainly everyone on lunch break, a little hustle and busy with food delivery services rotating. Chicken Doner Pide: 9.5/10 the chicken was so tender and juicy, and the bread was pressed perfectly. The toppings were whatever veggies and then some you wanted, but this was definitely one of the best pide's I've had. IMO go with the chicken over beef on this one! Turkish Pistachio Baklava: 7.5/10 was very good, just very sweet. It is DRENCHED in honey, and it doesn't look like it until your first bite; make sure to grab plenty of napkins! read more

Flavors in my wrap were so odd. I couldn't even finish my wrap, just picked the meat out. The hot sauce is literally buffalo wing sauce? Also, half of the tables were empty with chairs on them at 7 pm and when we asked the worker if we could sit there bc all the other available tables were full, he told us we could sit there if WE took the chairs down and put them back up when finished because he just mopped. ??? Ikram Grill is a Turkish doner casual self-seat restaurant. They have Pide (I call it a Turkish torta). If you're familiar with Mexican bolillo or telera - the bread is similar and they stuff it with 2 choices of meat - chicken or beef. You can also get the meat over a bed of rice with a bunch of savory fixings on top. One thing to note is that they do cook the beef doner with lamb fat - so it does have that lambey/gamey taste to it. I don't think it's the case with the chicken. My favorite thing about this place is how freshly the Usta slices the meat onto your plate in front of you. They also have fresh Simit (Turkish bagel), which they tend to run out of pretty early in the day. We love to eat it at home for breakfast with Kaymak (from next door's Hamle Market) & honey with some hot Turkish tea. Yum! They also offer a variety of typical Turkish syrupy/cheesy desserts - which again they sometimes run out of. The Turkish coffee is not my favorite here or really anywhere but my house lol. I made this comment to one of my Turkish friends and she said that in Turkey that tends to be the case - where the coffee is always better at home. The Parking lot is shared with Hamle Market and another kebab place but I've never had problems finding parking. Why we even hesitating?! Get your ass over and order a delicious and fat doner pide ASAP! NGL I was skeptical but once you get past the lunch rush and the price for a big and I mean BIG ASS SANDWICH, you'll be full before you know it. Messy eat but they crisp up the pide bread right before you bite into it and honestly good touch. The sumac onions and pickled peppers are great. They got two types of mayos I think, I feel like they could add more when I say spicy but honestly really good nonetheless. They definitely pack these bad boys from what seems to be near 1kg of meat. I recommend mixed over anything. Pide over the wrap and plate. Gotta try the specials with the fries next but that will be when I get back. The owners were so nice and made my sandwich with a smile. I'm allergic to lamb not just that but I also hate the taste of lamb n I'm not the only person, most VN I know do not like lamb either. If there is 1% lamb I can taste it, I have too many taste buds it's almost a curse too as I lost 7lbs on my last trip to Paris, all they had were charcuterie, lamb n stinking Camembert n goat cheese, their beef was probably horse meat it was like chewing my boots. I called the restaurant n said I was given the wrong meat, the guy swore to me it was beef, well there's zero chance that I'm wrong as I have a strong sense of taste, I used to know a friend who owned a Greek restaurant he admitted the meat on the rotating gyro machine was always a mixture of beef n lamb. When I was in New York and Mexico, that was also case. The dude should have offered to give me the chicken, needless to say I didn't eat it. The man by the grill who cuts the portions gave us enough meat on the first two, but when he realized the second two were short--especially the last one--he didn't cut any more, just used what was left, which was about half the portion. This was a really disappointing feeling, especially since it was so different from our previous experiences. People deserve to get enough quality and quantity for the money they pay. My fave place for a solid Turkish Sandwich Aka pide. I always order the beef and it never disappoint. Quick fast service and solid customer service. I use to cone here a couple years back when i lived in the OC and it still hits the spot. Meat was juicy and bread was solid made fresh daily. Wanted to try the Sobiyet but it was soldout when i came sadly. Price increased since i last came but it still worth it in my opinion. Was able to see them make my sandwich and see meat being grilled on the stick. Place was clean and it got packed shortly after we got our sandwich. Food quality was very hit or miss, and the way they handle their rewards system was disappointing. I had 10,000 reward points visible and redeemable in my account and had already used points before without issue. Later, the points were removed and I was told it was because I "didn't spend enough money" to earn them, even though the points were already in my account. Whether it was a "glitch" or not, removing rewards after they appear and are usable feels unfair as a customer. I won't be returning. I live about hour and half away since we don't have any good döner spots in LA area I always go put of my way to stop here and pick up and couple of döners. I think they used to make the pide in house but I could be remembering wrong, I think it's just as good as a couple of years ago. The bread is pretty big 5.5-6 inch diameter. I always get the beef, the chicken is okay. I feel like the beef has more flavor. Service is normal you go up, place your order, pay and wait. It is a smallish resturant if you go during peak hours expect to not find any seats, but so far I never have had that issue. Parking is easy to find also.
