I thought the sandwiches here are really good! They come in 3 sizes, (L, XL, and XXL). Not knowing exactly how big or small the sandwich will come out I got the middle size ($16). Kind of a steep price point for a sandwich but it was really worth it! They really pack it and I finished one half (I could've eaten all of it but then I would too full). Ordered the Firebird and asked fo make It spicy! Really great sandwich! Packed with meat, lettuce,'tomatoes,'pickles,'veggies, cheese, and a good spicy sauce! Also ordered the melrose, it's stuffed with turkey and veggies! I thought this was good, but I liked the Firebird more!

Came here for lunch and got the melrose sandwich in shortie size. The melrose sandwich was good but it had too much sauce in it. I would have enjoyed it better if it wasn't drenched in sauce. I would not get shortie size since it was a lot smaller than I expected for $13. Overall, the sandwiches seem underwhelming here and a bit pricey.

Ummm...we didn't get the hype. Me and number two Daughter. I like that the trendy sandwich joints these days get creative with their offerings, but it'd be nice if they also offered the traditional classic sandwiches as well. Call me a crusty ol' Gen Xer, if you will, but let's have some old standbys in addition to the cool, weirdly named, social media friendly stuff. I got their "version" of a Reuben. Large size. Decent, have never been a big fan of the Dutch Crunch bread that seems to have invaded every trendy sammy joint in the area (here, Subculture, Ike's). Just ok. #2 got the Club. Again, just ok. I actually wanted a traditional hot pastrami. Which, I coulda gotten via the "make your own" option. Pricey. We got three large sandies with chips = $60 ducats. I don't need a sandwich with 10 ingredients, a choice of 10 aiolis and a few "special spreads." And, I don't wanna have to resort to making my own just so I can have a good old, basic traditional sandwich. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Hefty sandwich! I got the firebird but was hoping it would be more spicy or flavorful. It's still good but needed a bit of a kick

This superb sandwich shop is located at Bella Terra...sort of. It's on the bottom floor of a mixed-use building on the Old Navy side of the mall. It's not that visible from the parking lot, but definitely worth the hunt. The exterior has several tables near a fountain for dining on a nice day and several tables indoors. The sole fellow working the shop was very friendly and helpful in answering questions I had. They have three sizes of sandwiches - shorty, large, and extra large. I decided on a large Howdy Sando. The Howdy, like all their sandwiches, comes on Dutch Crunch bread and has grilled chicken, thick bacon, sweet BBQ sauce, mayo, melted mozzarella cheese, lettuce, and chives (it also comes with red onion but I requested to hold that ingredient). Rather than a fountain drink, I went to their fridge and grabbed a bottle of Jones Orange Cream Soda. I sat inside and enjoyed my lunch immensely. The bread had a fantastic, crunchy crust with a soft but sturdy bread beneath. There were plenty of ingredients piled between the bread, and I especially loved their housemade sweet barbecue sauce. Lettuce is usually just a sandwich ingredient that isn't given much thought but the chopped lettuce in this sandwich was so fresh and vibrant it really escalated the taste of the overall sandwich. Each of the ingredients combined to make this one of my favorite sandwiches. Although I'm not in this area often, this unforgettable sandwich will warrant a return. ********* Since I was sitting near the register, I wanted to share this exchange I witnessed between customer and employee as the customer ordered a sandwich. employee: What size would you like? customer: Regular. employee: We have three sizes - shorty, large, and extra large. customer: Regular. employee (pointing to sign): We have these three sizes. customer: I'll just take a regular. employee: (holds up three display sandwiches, one at a time) We have these three sizes: shorty, large, and extra large. customer: Regular is fine. me: (shaking my head, rolling my eyes, and giggling)

Surprised I haven't seen this place even though I've passed this area so many times! Finally another sandwich shop to try. My boyfriend and I got the Firebird and Santa Monica (L) to try. Our favorite was hands down the Santa Monica! Everything topped off with the Dutch Crunch bread brought it all together. The flavors were amazing and the portion was huge. It was refreshing and not too filling with all the heavy sauces. On the other hand, the Firebird was creamy and a delicious half to have alongside the Santa Monica. I loved mixing my bites!

We tried this location at Bella Terra yesterday, and although we struggled a bit to find it at first, it was definitely worth looking for. This spot is a family-owned and veteran-owned business, which made it even nicer to support. They offer three different sizes to choose from. We tried the tuna sandwich and the Melrose, one of their most popular items, with a few modifications. The woman taking our order was super chill, and the guy who prepared our food was incredibly helpful--he even had the warmest smile when handing us our order. We enjoyed eating outside, and the view was really nice. This is definitely a spot I'd return to when I'm in the area.

Pretty quick, took about 10 minutes to get a regular size sub. Reminds me of Jersey Mike's. Easy to eat and take on the go. Great flavor.

I love a good sandwhich and Ghost Sandi definitely has good sandwiches. Nestled in Bella Terra it would be easy to pass right by this little sandwhich shop, but apparently the respiration of this place makes sure no one passes this place by. The place was maybe half full inside and half full outside but sitting there it was obvious that most patrons took their order and left. Lots and lots of people getting sandwiches to go and lots of mobile delivery pick ups. This place had three different sized sandwiches. No, not sized by length but instead sized by height. The more meat and goodies inside the sandwich, the larger your sandwich becomes. Take this as a warning..... the regular sandwhich is already stuffed and pretty large so definitely order the bigger sizes if your appetite feels it can conquer the challenge. I couldn't even make it through half of my sandwich. My companion of course devoured his whole sandwhich and he got one of the bigger sizes (he was pretty hungry). They are known for their toasted Dutch crunch roll which is delicious. I got the club with no cheese and no mayo. Light blast sauce. I thought I said no pepperoncinis but they did put some in my sandwich. That was fine because I just picked them out. It was a good turkey sandwich. Pretty standard but packed with all the ingredients. I probably ate only about 1/4 to 1/3 of my sandwich. I really should have shared my sandwich because there was so much left over. My companion got the pastrami mami. He said it was really delicious and packed with meat. He pretty much inhaled the sandwich. He said the pastrami was good quality and not too fatty. This is a nice option for lunch. Just keep in mind you have to find parking at Bella Terra and walk over to the sandwhich shop, which can be kind of a pain in a huge center like Bella Terra - especially in the late afternoon/evening or on a weekend.

    Shortie Melrose Sandwich ~ $15?!
    Nyky L.

Shortie Size Melrose Sandwich I included a standard lemon in the photo for size comparison -- the sandwich was truly mini. For nearly $15, the portion felt extremely small and not a good value. Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend it based on the price-to-size ratio.

Not much bacon in the BLT! $17?
    Debbie W.

Oh no! I really wanted to like this place it got such great ratings. Maybe I ordered the wrong sandwich? They only have the Dutch crunch bread and my BLT sandwich had a lot of bread, a lot of lettuce hardly any tomato and maybe six strips of bacon which didn't make for a very hearty sandwich in my opinion, especially for the value of what it cost. The large was 17 after tax. The service was great very attentive and fast and I love the ambience inside. It's very big and spacious with high ceilings, and a great location right near the fountains at Bella Terra but I won't be coming back for their sandwiches. I'd say it's similar to Ike's.

If you're looking for great sandwich shop with some phenomenal cold cuts - Ghost Sandi will not fill your stomach, but it'll fill your spirits too! We got the Phoenix and the Uncle Nikki - and the Phoenix definitely reminded me of Ike's Ménage a Trois. I wish they added a bit more chicken in there, but it was still pretty tasty! I will say that their Dutch bread is superior to any other sandwich bread I've had in a while. If you're a fan of cold cuts (like I am) I highly recommend the Uncle Nikki. Filling, delicious, and overall really well crafted. We took our sandwiches to go for a fun day at the beach, but the ambiance and space inside was very clean and organized, with TV screens everywhere for entertainment :) Our sandwiches were made well and the service was excellent!

More people need to be talking about Ghost Sando Shop! I feel like most people don't know about this sandwich spot and although this location is a bit hidden, it's a must try. I've been to the LA location once before and had to check out this one while I was in the area. I got the Uncle Nikki sandwich and it was packed with so much flavor. Their homemade Italian Dressing is sweet and compliments the whole sandwich well along with the Dutch Crunch Bread. This has to be one of my favorite dutch crunch breads in OC as of 2025. Ike's is way too sweet for me. There is also plenty of seating inside and outside. I did order here recently on Postmates and they totally got my order wrong though, I asked for no peppers or onion but it was on it when I got the order :(

Backstory: For inexplainable reasons i do enjoy a good girthy bratwurst on many an occasion…read more especially the first bite when it explodes juicily in your mouth is so yum. So my excoworker whose german brings me and another coworker here for a more authentic experience, there was this i guess more hipster bratwurst place in LB we tried previously and i was ok with it but my broworkers brats were burnt and so here we are. In a nutshell:Ok i think i came here before maybe some event but i guess when a german brings you in and does the ordering it's different? Brats were amazing, except it was a platter of like 4 variations and they were precut, so no girthy enjoyment tonight and also i didnt know which ones were which flavor, they all look the same you have a lighter brat a darker brat and a redder brat i couldnt really tell to be honest. The pretzel was very interesting, thin crisp exterior and inside was fluffy soft, twas delicious considering how plain it looked, Wetzels/Annes would be a thick dense oily comparison. Beer cheese is extra but delicious, imagine a watery dip cheese. The ooooonly drawback was the mustard, it was kinda basic one flavor yellow mustard and according to my german friend slash excoworker she was expecting better mustards and a variety of mustards to top. Liquids:ok the beers are 500cc 1000cc and a pitcher. the 5 and 10 are a pint mug id expect at a brewery and a big fat tall apparently normal for germans sized mug thats bigger than my face. me n my bro we both do not carry the drinking genes so neither of us will walk away if we take a L ourselves, but the 3 of us wish to have a splendid jolly time havent seen each other in some time and the beer list is quite respectable. Fransiskaner Weissbeer was a mandatory vote for me, I had it like once when i was a young college dude and ive always been looking for it again since, the normal Fransiskaner Hefeweizen can be found here regularly but the dark version ive not seen in so long. If u like non-bitter smooth flavorful beer with a touch of banana hint on the end, Weissbeer you should try. $10 for a pint $16 for the oversized mug liter. Paulaner Hefeweizen was lighter flavor more orangey, still very pleasant. We took a Liter of both and split em 3 ways, the giant mugs are not possible to pour into smaller mugs without making a mess, unfortunately theyre not allowed to just pre split a 1L into 2 500ml mugs make it easier for us to split, something about the owner watching the dispensing okaaay. Service: uses the run forest run method which im a fan of. flip the painted wood block to red up for dont bother us and green for request service. Eliminates the untimely interruptions. Though towards the end of the night i had to use the bathroom and when i came back theyd cleared away my unfinished beer, rude. Pricey brats (1 brat plate is $15). Schnitzel $24 looks massive but its pounded paper thin and heavily breaded. Copious serving sizes of beer. Criminally limited to 1 type of mustard (i dont care, mustard isnt a high priority for me, but my coworker was so bothered) Parking has 2 lots on either side of the german "village" kinda small spots and tight angles but very plentiful. Also theres a mini market on the north end of the restaurant. alot of rather expensively priced small items.

I cant express how much I enjoyed my experience here!!!…read more From the start the service was so friendly, at the time we got to pick our own seating since it wasnt too busy- we opted for the patio seats and it was a great vibe. We started off with some drinks, the Bex Wine was sweet, not too dry, and super refreshing! My partner got the Erdinger beer and it was light and citrusy! We of course had to get their pretzel which was HUGE!!! I thought we wouldnt be able to finish it but it was too good not to... the beer cheese, mustard and spread were all complimented well with the hot, crisp and buttery pretzel. We also got a side of fries, super crispy and battered- my fave! My partner got the polish sausage, stacked with sauerkraut, peppers, and onion!! Super snappy sausage and very generous portions. Nonetheless, I love how you can just flip a sign to indicate when you need service- super convenient. I can see myself going back here to try their other items!!

We got three of the slices our waiter recommended: Stay loose, Haole, sauce addiction, and mo honey mo problems. We loved that they had Detroit slices as well as the normal thin crust. The crust on the Detroit slice is light and airy even though it looks super thick like a focaccia slice. Although we liked the Detroit slice the thin pies were definitely our favorites. The crust isn't tough and was a good balance of crispy and fluffy. I thought the Stay Loose, Haole was a bit too salty and could have used more pineapple but the Sauce Addiction was amazing. The Highlights: * The Food: They have some of the best pizza, mozzarella sticks, and even the Coke tastes better here. Even the chicken wings are solid. It's a great local spot. * Logistics: Parking can be a bit of a struggle, but I've never had a major issue other than the line being long--which just goes to show how popular it is. The Only Critique: My only issue is that something in their ingredients routinely makes me feel unwell. I'm not sure exactly what it is--it's not just standard grease--but every time I eat it after taking a week off, I feel pretty bad for about 3 hours afterward. I suspect it might be a specific chemical or something like monosodium glutamate (MSG), but the food is so good that I honestly end up eating it anyway. Final Thoughts: If you can handle whatever "mystery ingredient" is in there, it's a 5-star experience. I'll keep coming back for the flavor alone!
