My boyfriend and I came here for lunch, and we had such a great experience! I had one of the best bún nước lèo, while he had the grilled crispy pork with bánh hỏi. Everything was plentiful, the vegetables were fresh, and the restaurant was clean and welcoming. Service was excellent as they make sure we had everything we needed. You can tell this is a true mom-and-pop restaurant because you can actually taste the love in the food--it reminded us of homemade cooking. We visited this restaurant on a weekend morning and were seated right away. We ordered Bun Mam, Hu Tiu, and Com Ga Chien (rice with fried chicken leg). It took 45 minutes for the bun mam to arrive, 60 minutes for the hu tiu, and 70 minutes for the com ga. The restaurant wasn't even that busy. When we asked the waiter to cancel our orders, he replied, "Oh, it's almost done. Please be understanding because we have too many to-go orders." Ok...? But what about the dine-in customers tho? Many people actually left because they couldn't wait. When our food finally came, it was all cold. In fact, the hu tiu was inedible - the noodles were so sticky and clumpy that they couldn't be pulled apart. When we pointed this out, expecting them to remake it, you know what they did? They just popped it in the microwave and brought it back to us as if nothing had happened. No apology or any acknowledgment of the issue. There was no discount, no comp, and not even an offer of a drink for the inconvenience. While their bun mam was good, I will not be back. read more

Their bún mắm and chicken rice are outstanding. In fact, their bún mắm is the best I've ever had in Orange County. The food is consistently delicious, and you can tell they use fresh, high quality ingredients and put a lot of care into every dish. I actually feel a little sad that they don't seem to get as many customers as they deserve because the food is truly excellent. Places like this are hard to find, yet they're not very well known. I only discovered this restaurant because of a friend's recommendation, and it suprised me. However, I rarely see them advertised in local Vietnamese groups, which is a shame because they deserve much more recognition. I highly recommend giving this restaurant a try. The hu tiu nam vang was delicious and super fresh! Everything was packed with authentic Vietnamese flavors, generous portions, and lots of fresh herbs and toppings. We went on a weekday around 10:30am and the restaurant was only had one table occupied. That's how I like it. We decided we try the bun mam based on yelp's reviews. I will give 5 stars for this dish. I can tell the ingredients they used were fresh from the herbs plate to the seafood topping. The taste was great, not too sweet and did not smell fishy. I found the shaken beef had a weird texture, then I checked it was completely rare in the middle. Complained to the waiter in glasses about that. He told the kitchen that I ate almost all then complained, argued with me it was medium rare and made me pay full price. I left my half finished rice and those rare beef. 5 stars for the bun mam. Probably one of the best bun mam in OC. Lots of fresh veggies (like 6 different kinds) and lots of toppings (shrimp, fish, squid, fish cake, pork belly, eggplant). Some reviewers said the broth is a little sweet for them, but I thought it was perfect. Very flavorful and not sweet at all for me. Other places make it so salty. Portion is huge. The broth is a bit thin in texture, it needs to be thicker. Topping is fine but missing boiled pork belly slices. The fish isn't fresh or overcooked, the meat lost its texture. Overall 7/10. The bowl does not have chili fish cake, the eggplants were not soft, still hard, I did NOT smell the aroma of fermented fish, it just tasted salty overall. I usually go for the combination pho or the bun bo hue but I never tried the fermented fish noodles soup and I read some of the reviews on Yelp, and it sounds delicious so I came here on a recommendation from a Yelpers lol. It did not disappoint, the restaurant seems small from the back entrance, maybe there's another front entrance too but I didn't look, I just sat down. When I entered, they lady at the register was sitting down feed her newborn baby and there's a young man on his I pad sitting by the wall. They didn't really acknowledge me until i said hello and only one person lol, they were too busy when I was the only second person in there eating. The service was quick but the chicken wings that I ordered took a little longer, frying it fresh takes a little longer but is worth the wait. I ordered their special, # 8, fermented fish noodles soup with the chicken wings and I think I ordered hot water, who needs a drink when you have so much broth lol. They fermented soup is really pungent, the smell of fish sauce fills the air. You would think it might be salty but is not, is the opposite, is actually sweet. With all the seafood and fresh herbs, it goes really well together. There was a big chunk of fish right on top and the presentation was flawless, it was perfect. I like beautiful presentation of the food, then you know they put a lot of effort into making it and it will taste delicious. The service can be a little better but like most Asian restaurants, after they bring your food, they leave you alone to eat in peace or until you need something, then you flag them down and they come over. After I ate 1/3 of my noodles, they brought out the chicken wings with loquat sauce, it was presented beautifully, it was still hot, just came out of the fryer. It was like a honey/loquat sauce, is sweet and crispy, is delicious. I ate 3 and took home 3 for my mom to try. I would come back if I'm near by and would definitely recommend this restaurant.
