Pho 79 in Westminster is so good and absolutely worth stopping by! This is the kind of place that makes you understand why people are willing to line up for a bowl of pho. My biggest recommendation is to get the oxtail. Seriously, do not skip it! It was the highlight of the meal for me and something I would make sure to order again on my next visit. If you arrive and see a line, don't let that discourage you. The line moves quickly, and the wait felt well worth it once we got to enjoy the food. It's a great spot when you're craving a satisfying meal, and one I would happily come back to whenever I'm in the area. Come hungry, get the oxtail, and enjoy!

Stopped by the new Pho 79 location, so glad there is much more parking spaces available. The storefront is also much bigger and spacious. The new store doesn't feel as stuffy as the old location. Ordered my usual Super Bowl pho with a side of oxtail. The pho was tasty as it was before. The side of oxtail is plenty to share with others. Food was brought to our table quickly while the soup is still hot. I am glad that I don't have to bring cash to eat at pho 79 now.

Pho dac biet. I think they put less noodles in compared to the original location. I ordered flat noodles. Broth looks clearer.

Being a Pho 79 connoisseur at the original location for many years on Hazard, I was ecstatic to see they have moved closer to my house in the ABC supermarket courtyard on Bolsa, where I used to attend weddings and events at the old hidden restaurant venue on the southwest corner of the Lot. Let me tell you that I've always frequented their sister location at Pho 101 on Edinger which is also about equivalent, so I would fairly say that I have experience in Pho being Vietnamese myself. Parking, even though it should have more spaces than the other location, is somehow always full when I visit, so I have to circle the building. I walked past the pond next to the restaurant where they used to have Koi and disco lighting outside but sadly, it seems the fountains are turned off with no Koi Fish in the pond either. Bummer. Nevertheless, I'm here for the main event, the Pho. The interior of the restaurant is spacious, as it seems that they have removed the stage. The a/c was blowing strongly, so it was even a bit chilly in there even though it was 90 degrees outside. I would highly advise you to bring a jacket if you are prone to cold. I sat in a booth by myself in the corner. I ordered my pho dac biet which had a little of everything, with wide noodles. Looking around, I noticed that the employees to customer ratio was disproportionate, as even though they could fit more customers in this big space compared to the former restaurant, they retained the same small number of employees. This is the bottleneck, as it would take even longer for them to serve you. Nonethless, again, I am here for the Pho. When they brought the Pho out, it smelled the same as before. A good sign, I thought. When I tasted the Pho, it was almost the same as before. However, I did notice that the broth was a bit more translucent than opaque. Consequently, this made the flavors a tiny bit muted and not as satisfying as before. As if the broth is diluted just a tiny bit, thus not satisfying that umami flavor that you are accustomed to from the previous restaurant. However, it is still pretty close. Overall, I still think this is a good place to eat Pho. At this rate, I would rank them in terms of deliciousness and umami flavor from highest to lowest: 1. Pho 79 (original location that is closed) 2. Pho 101 (in HB) 3. Pho 79 (current one on Bolsa). Those are my rankings.

33. Pho Xe Lua ($18.25). 9/6/2026

I'm a bit torn about this new location of Pho 79. They permanently closed down their Hazard location to move to this newer location off Bolsa. While the restaurant is spacious and clean and the workers were friendly, it lacked in a few areas that led me to take away two stars. It took quite a while to get our pho. At the previous location, the pho came out really quick after placing an order. I ordered their 33. Pho Xe Lua ($18.25), which is a larger version of their 32. Pho Dac Biet. Besides being in a bigger bowl with more soup and some extra pieces of meat, the noodles looked the same amount as the regular size. It was disappointing and not worth the upcharge. Besides being in a shiny bigger space, the food quality has gone down. I still like the taste of their salty broth, which is why I still give them three stars.

Took my cousin here yesterday for lunch! This is their new location, and I really like it--it's bigger, has more seating, and the parking situation is SO much better! Their pho broth is still just as good as I remember. I ordered #27, rare & well-done fatty beef, with oxtail on the side. The oxtail was SO tender and delicious! Definitely worth the extra $6.25 for it. I also forgot how much meat Pho79 gives you compared to other pho places! You definitely get a generous portion, which I love. I'll definitely be coming back here with the hubby! Unfortunately, my cousin probably won't be returning. She experienced an upset stomach in the middle of our lunch and isn't sure if it was from the pho or the spring rolls. She has allergies to fish and peanuts, so we're not sure if there may have been some kind of cross-contamination during preparation. We do know that pho broth commonly contains fish sauce, and she has eaten pho at other restaurants before without ever experiencing an upset stomach, so we're not sure what caused it this time. It was especially unfortunate because she said the pho broth was one of the best she's ever had.

Been a minute since I've have Pho 79. I tried their new location today and was honestly surprised they moved to such a big restaurant. The pho was saltier than I remember. Good but way saltier. Service was fast. Parking is plenty. I would return.

Zien T.

The soup was not very flavorful, and unfortunately, I found an eyelash in it. :( I was pretty grossed out and couldn't finish my soup afterward. On the positive side, the service was good and fast. The restaurant is also kid-friendly, and the overall ambience was welcoming and family-friendly.

Pho Tai with Chicken Side

Very nice restaurant with a good ambience. I came in at around 4 PM and there weren't very many people. The restaurant itself is very big and has a lot of seats. Service was super quick, cordial and efficient. I ordered the Pho tai with an extra side of steamed chicken. The beef and the chicken were both extremely tender. I found the noodles to be a little bit more mediocre though, as parts of the noodles were congealed together. The broth was also excellent. It comes with your traditional side of vegetables and they also have Sriracha and hoisin sauce available. Overall, a good experience and affordable. My whole order was around $20. I personally don't know if it stands out extraordinarily to me, but was definitely very tasty and solid food.

Pho 79 is our go to place for pho for years. We were very excited to check out the new location that has plenty of easy parking, nice decor and now it takes credit card!! The restaurant is beautifully decorated and the staff is friendlier now lol. The food is still the same OG taste and so far they haven't raised the pricing. We really enjoyed coming to this location knowing that parking is much easier now and it's such a bonus it's no longer cash only!!

Pho 79 recently opened this beautiful large location and it's amazing. You no longer have long waits except maybe in a weekend for large parties. The staff is always super friendly and helpful. You can never go wrong with a bowl of pho! My favorite is pho tai chin!! They also serve other items too they have a crispy garlic chicken with rice and salad and the sauce is delicious too. Depends on what you're looking to eat but I can tell you the meat in the pho is so so tender and you'll never get better! Make sure to add your favorite fixings in and always bring good company makes pho even better!

Finallg got to try the new Pho 79 location, and I have to say I love the new location. so much bigger with plenty of parking as well. Came on a sunday morning, plenty of tables still available before the morning rush, got seeated right away. The Pho came out fast and is still consistent with the old location. My complaint is that they charged $1 for bo vien, which they gave 1 meat ball cut in half, total rip off for 2 piece of bo vien. And they charged .50 cent if you want large noodle. Should be free in my opinion.

2.5 Stars This restaurant was recommended by our uncle. He said the old location was successful and we should try the new and bigger one. When you enter, you will see nice chandeliers hanging. We went here on a Sunday early evening. There are is ample parking outside. The table and seats that we were in, we cannot get out easily. I think they try to squeeze in as much as they can. It took 15 minutes for our server to get our order. We had the following dishes: * Bun Thit Nuong Cha - This dish had charbroiled pork, egg rolls, veggies and rice vermicelli. Good amount of serving. The meat was flavorful and egg rolls crispy. It was delicious. * Com Bi Cha Thit Nuong - I got this dish and the serving was a lot of me. It had charbroiled pork, shredded pork's skin, egg loaf, veggies and broken rice. I like everything and I like how the egg loaf was also good! Gave this place 2.5 Stars due to the bad customer service. We had asked for condiment dishes (we could not find any) and our server said to just look / dig in on our utensil caddy. Then he came back after 5-10 minutes to give us new ones. Seems like he was just waiting for his shift to end. We noticed that they were also short-staffed too. I hope they would improve their customer service so they would not lose customers.

On the way back, we decided to stop by Pho 79 to have breakfast. According to my cousin, this is the only pho place that opens this early. I had heard of Pho 79 and how delicious it is, but I had not tried it yet. This place is humongous; as soon as I walked in, the aroma of pho hit me, and I knew I was in the right place. There were other dishes on the menu, but since we were at a pho restaurant, pho was naturally the best choice. We were immediately seated, and the server took our order right away. It did not take long for the food to come out, accompanied by fresh herbs and vegetables like basil, bean sprouts, and lime. The broth was light and packed with flavor. I could taste all the hidden goodness, like star anise, ginger, onion, and cinnamon. The best part was the meat--it was cooked so perfectly that it was tender and melt-in-your-mouth. Everything blended so well together that it did not take long for me to finish the bowl. The restaurant was also clean and spotless. This is a must-try pho restaurant if you are in the area. Highly recommended!

The chicken was crispy and the dipping sauce gave it that extra yummy goodness. The dish also came with a side of broth that had chicken bits in it, was nice to help digest your dish. I also loved that they gave you pickled veggies & fresh veggies. We also ordered the Loi's Fusion Saltado, upgraded the rice to garlic egg fried rice. The beef was soft and tender, the fries were nice and crispy and the fried rice was fresh. You 100% need to get the Thai Tea. A lot of place add too much cream/half and half diluting the tea flavor, they do not skimp on the actual tea in their drink. The color speaks for itself on the dark orange hue!

I'm a bit late getting around to writing this, and unfortunately, they are already closed, but I still felt like I had to share my experience. I'm not completely surprised that they closed, especially after trying their bò né. I've had this dish many times at different places around Orange County, and unfortunately, this was probably the weakest version I've come across. The first thing that stood out was the presentation. As you can see in the picture, there was this purple-colored sauce on the meat itself, which honestly did not look very appetizing. To make things worse, the sauce was cold and did not heat in time with the skillet, which really took away from the experience. The flavor itself wasn't terrible, but it also wasn't anything memorable. It was just okay, and when you factor in the cold food and the presentation, it made the whole dish disappointing. With so many places around Orange County serving bò né at a much higher level, I would probably recommend spending your money elsewhere. If you were wondering whether you missed out on some hidden gem, don't worry, you didn't. This one felt more like a piece of coal than a diamond. That being said, every restaurant has its journey, and with more time, maybe they could have found their footing. Hopefully, they can take this experience as a lesson, refine their recipes, and bring something better in their next venture. I am rooting for you Loi!
