The floral decor is also sweet. ^_^ Ordered : Charbroiled Pork chops ($14.25) It comes with two pork chops that are sweet and savory, with rich, melt in your mouth pieces. What makes this place a winner is the broth and also how large the tendon pieces are in the soup. I alway get a large pho with double brisket and tendon and still have a second meal after. Pho 101 is one of my go-to places. Whenever I'm at a pho place I always get their pho dac biet. I can't choose what beef protein I want, so I just get a little bit of everything. The broth is always perfect here. Not too bland and not too salty. Just the way I like it. Also, I don't feel like I have to use the hoisin and siracha to add to the perfect broth. I also love the fact that they hook it up with the veggies. Some place, I feel, don't give you enough. Service is always great and the place was nice a clean like always. We recently visited Little Saigon and were looking for a great pho restaurant. While comparing reviews, Pho 101 was at the top of the list. We were excited. Upon arriving there was a wait, not uncommon and we did not mind waiting. We were seated within 20 minutes. We both got the traditional pho and an order of the spring rolls. We asked for half the portion of noodles for one of the bowls and extra herbs. After taking our order we never saw our waitress again, not even to pay since you go upfront to do that. Both bowls had a crazy large amount of the noodles. Overall the pho was bland, with watery broth. Very disappointing! We were both impressed with the spring rolls, those were very yummy! We came here to celebrate a family birthday. They take reservations and we were seated quickly. The restaurant was busy in the best way, which is always a good sign. It has a large space with plenty of tables. Our waiter, Long, was attentive and friendly, and he made sure we had everything we needed. The food was amazing. Pho 101 never disappoints! Came on a Sunday afternoon, and only had to wait about 10 minutes. While it's very busy, the turnover is quick. The restaurant itself is very modern and clean, making for a nice ambiance. For food, we got two Pho bowls, and you can choose what meats go on it. It came with a side of veggies, but we didn't like that. It only came with one plate instead of one for each bowl. We also got the vermicelli and rice dishes, and opted to choose Char-Broiled pork, egg rolls, and egg meatloaf for the toppings. Toppings. Everything was delicious, especially the egg rolls which were perfectly fried and still hot when we got them. The rice dish was regular rice, but I would have preferred the traditional broken rice. I hear a lot of people come here for the Pho. We were famished by the time we arrived after spending time at the beach and getting really grounded this morning. We arrived at 10:30am. We were quickly seated. Looking around the restaurant it was 3/4 full. Our server was attentive. We ordered the egg rolls, the shrimp salad and the medium Pho with beef, meatballs and shrimp. I kept hearing good things about this place, especially since supposedly they're the same owners as the hyped up Pho 79. We came on a weekend and were luckily able to find a spot, but the parking lot fills up fast, and shares the lot with a storage facility (with multiple parking spots stating that you can't park there for Pho 101). The wait list is old school: a clipboard with a piece of paper on it to write down your name and how many are in your group. I have no problem with this, but the person managing the wait list somehow managed to skip our name even though we were sitting right in front of it, lol. There were also only 3 other parties waiting to get seated, but I digress. For their pho, you select the size of your bowl (M vs L) and you can choose up to 4 items (your meats/proteins). I ended up picking the medium bowl with brisket and meat balls, and my husband wanted to try their vermicelli with pork and egg rolls. Our orders were taken quickly, and food came out quite fast as well! Their medium size portion was HUGE (seems comparable to other pho restaurant's large size). The soup was quite flavorful and I can see why it's really popular, but it doesn't beat out my current favorite pho restaurant, haha. But I will say, I love how large the bowl/portion is, and they definitely do not skimp out on the meat here as well. Overall, a solid pho place. It's located across the street from Bella Terra in Huntington Beach with a decent sized parking lot but we came here for lunch around 11:30 so it wasn't too crazy busy. Lots of seats to choose from and the interior had a modern feel which is great to attract a variety of audiences! FOOD Pho Dac Biet Both my girlfriend and I had the same bowl but I always tend to add more sriracha in mine for the extra spice! Broth is pretty on point, it was very rich in flavor that compliments the abundance of rice noodle and toppings. Regular bowl will surely get you full but if you're starving I'd probably recommend getting a large bowl! OVERALL It's great to finally visit and we'll definitely come by again if we're around Huntington Beach feeling Pho! It's always a good way to start the day I feel!
