8/07/26 7:18 p.m.-8:30 p.m. Westminster Food is excellent, but the service and professionalism are completely unacceptable. I decided to try this pho spot because I was in the area and it had consistently glowing reviews. The parking lot was nearly full, and every table inside was occupied, so I added my name to the waitlist. To my surprise, I was seated in about five minutes. I ordered the Medium Rare Steak Pho with small noodles and was impressed by how quickly it arrived. The pho was delicious overall. The noodles were slightly overcooked and softer than I prefer, but the broth was rich and flavorful, and the steak was fresh and good quality. The fresh bean sprouts, green onions, jalapeños and basil were a nice touch and elevated the meal. Up until I was getting ready to leave, I would have rated both the food and my overall experience a 9.5/10. Unfortunately, everything changed because of an interaction I witnessed between a manager and a busser. As the busser (an older Hispanic man) was cleaning the table next to me, the manager (a Vietnamese man wearing glasses) repeatedly yelled in his face, shouting, "Who's the manager?!" several times. He then appeared to mock the employee's limited English by imitating his Spanish accent. Watching an employee be publicly humiliated in front of a full dining room was disturbing and unprofessional. Moments later, the manager threw an empty bowl from across the restaurant into the busser's cleaning cart. Although the bowl appeared to be empty, the act itself was aggressive and alarming. It easily could have struck someone or escalated the situation further. The food deserves high marks, but no employee should be treated that way, especially in front of customers. Witnessing that interaction completely changed my impression of the restaurant and overshadowed what had otherwise been an excellent meal.
Pho 101 is the sister restaurant to Pho 79 and run by their children, the next generation. As such, it's pretty much the more glamorous, hipper version to their parent's restaurant. Quality has not dropped off though, the soup being just as fragrant and flavorful as its counterpart. There is a little more customization here with the ability to select either a medium ($14.25) or large ($17.50) bowl of pho and then add up to 4 different proteins. They absolutely do not skimp on the protein allotment either. Your best value is to order a large and split it amongst 2 people -- this is the way! They also have rice/ com dishes (NOT broken rice) and vermicelli noodles as the other main entree items. I think stick with the pho though!
Service is good. It's a good place to have a quick pho stop off Huntington blvd exit on the 405. The food is good - but not so authentic. It's more modern Vietnamese / American dishes. The pho broth was ok. It wasn't bad but it wasn't oh so good either. The place was nice and modern. The only thing I notice was the floor was sticky. Otherwise, not bad.
I could never live anywhere where there wasn't a pho restaurant within a 20 mile radius. That being said I have tried many Pho restaurants and I would have the say Pho 101 has now become one of my favorites. Not only are the portions huge, the broth is what makes me wanting more. Service was fast and accommodating. Me and my friend thought we were going to wait a while as there was many people waiting inside and outside but we got lucky and got sat right away. We shared a large bowl and it was just the right amount for the both of us. The restaurant was spacious with many tables. The only downside I would say is the parking. I imagine if the plaza was super busy, the parking could be a nightmare. Still wouldn't stop me from coming though!
My favorite place to get pho in OC which is a big statement for me. Pho Flavour comes to a close second behind this place. What makes this place a winner is the broth and also how large the tendon pieces are in the soup. I alway get a large pho with double brisket and tendon and still have a second meal after. Their egg rolls are amazing too. And their service and speed has always been elite.
Lunch at Pho 101 in Huntington Beach. Super tasty and packed with flavor. The broth was rich, comforting, and perfectly balanced. After trying many pho spots around Orange County, this one stands out as one of the very best. Definitely worth a visit if you're craving a great bowl of pho.
My sister recommended Pho 101 and I'm so glad I went. I had their the medium sized beef pho with tripe, fatty (brisket), flank and rare steak. The broth (alone) felt like a warm hug after a tiring long day. The (meat) toppings were tender and such good quality; I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. Overall: 10/10 for food, service and ambiance.
Allegedly owned by the same owners as Pho 79, which is one of the most famous pho restaurants in all of Orange County's Little Saigon, Pho 101 serves some seriously huge bowls of pho. In fact, I'm not sure I've ever had a larger bowl. I'm not complaining! The broth was flavorful, the noodles were perfectly prepared with unrivaled texture, and the meat was high quality. If you're looking for a pho restaurant to visit, this place is definitely worth checking out.

Solid place for pho. The interior just feels very welcoming and clean, I like it. Lots of greenery and the tables are nice and modern. I typically get the brisket pho, the portions here are amazing. You can add up to 4 meats for $15 and that means I can get 4 servings of brisket. LOTS of noodles. At the end, just go up and pay at the counter, so pretty self sufficient in terms of service. Food comes out fast even during lunch rush!!
This place is so legit! We stopped by Pho 101 on a Sunday afternoon. There was no line and plenty of open tables. This plates had really legit dishes. I really liked the bun thit nuong but I would've preferred it in a plate and not a bowl to make it easier to eat. The service was good! The server made sure to stop by a few times to make sure we didn't need anything. I also got a Vietnamese coffee, of course, and it was great. Sometimes I find that Vietnamese coffee can be a little bit, bitter, even with the condensed milk but this place got the sweetness right! It wasn't too loud because it is a spacious restaurant which I really appreciated. The restaurant is nice and clean. I definitely will be back.
The pork chops were yummy. The main star of the night was definitely the chicken pho. I was sick and I desperately needed a chicken soup. I was excited to see an egg and the skin on my chicken. They also gave me a side of ginger with garlic and onion to die for. I had a hot tea as well and when I say I felt cured after eating all of that, I mean it. Whenever I feel like I'm about to start getting sick, I will come here and eat the same thing. It was a cure and I want the world to know!
Stopped by Pho 101 and was immediately impressed by the modern, airy interior - complete with wood booths, industrial lighting, and hanging plants. This place is noticeably cleaner and more polished than your typical pho spot. The pho broth here is the real star. Rich, aromatic, and packed with traditional spices like star anise and cinnamon, it's incredibly flavorful without needing to add much. I went with a combination bowl and the portion was massive - even the small size feels generous. The noodles had that perfect bouncy texture and the beef quality was excellent. Also tried the fresh spring rolls which came with a delicious peanut sauce and were packed with shrimp, pork and fresh vegetables. Light and refreshing! Service was attentive with servers frequently checking in and refilling drinks. There can be a wait during peak hours since it's popular, but it moves quickly. If you're craving authentic Vietnamese pho in a clean, comfortable setting, Pho 101 delivers.

This location has no wait! I loved the free hot tea here. It might be the best tea I've ever had. Ox tail is also excellent. Fried chicken was kinda dry and small portioned. Would skip next time. Pork cutlet was also dry. Egg roll is excellent! read more
Yum Vietnamese food ! We scanned through the menu and funny that my whole group ordered the same thing : 2 item-vermicelli (bun) with pork and egg roll. It's good with large portions , filled with veggies and included fish sauce. This place also has pho and rice dishes, I'm sure they're all satisfying too! read more

Finally made my way to Pho 101 after having it on my list for the longest time. Very excited to try the sister restaurant of Pho 79, which is my favorite pho restaurant in all of SoCal. Different setup here, where you pick a medium or large bowl of pho and pick four meats you want to include. Opted for a medium bowl with rare meat, well cooked brisket, fatty brisket, and meatballs. Also ordered a side of oxtail, because I have to do that every time it's available. This is a great bowl of pho! The broth was very clean, the noodles were on point, and they do not hold back whatsoever on the amount of meat they give you. Oxtail was also great! Two huge oxtails with meat that fell off the bone. Perfect supplement for the bowl of pho. Service was solid as you would expect here. We put in our order and the pho came out quickly. Pay at the front, and they do take credit cards! Pho 101 definitely hits all the notes for great pho! Definitely worth coming here. read more

We recently visited Little Saigon and were looking for a great pho restaurant. While comparing reviews, Pho 101 was at the top of the list. We were excited. Upon arriving there was a wait, not uncommon and we did not mind waiting. We were seated within 20 minutes. We both got the traditional pho and an order of the spring rolls. We asked for half the portion of noodles for one of the bowls and extra herbs. After taking our order we never saw our waitress again, not even to pay since you go upfront to do that. Both bowls had a crazy large amount of the noodles. Overall the pho was bland, with watery broth. Very disappointing! We were both impressed with the spring rolls, those were very yummy! Sadly, this place is NOT worth the hype!!! read more
Did I forget to review this place? Needed something satisfying after a dental appt. It's my 5(?) 6(?)th time here. Always stop by when I have a pho craving. Wait staff is very efficient with handheld iPads sending orders. Broth is great! Deep rich beefy flavor with a hint of 5-spice & others herbs. Service is quick with lots of basil, culandro, bean sprouts & a fresh lime wedge accompanying. Clean non-sticky tables, table side condiments, etc. Cool industrial vibe inside, kind of awkward way into driveway (from eastward Warner). But they're doing fine because the food is so good. read more
100% this place is the best place for pho in the OC, and Pho 79 their other restaurant. Something about the smell of their broth when you enter in the restaurant that makes you crave pho instantly. Just a perfect bowl and they give you lots of meat and noodles too. read more

This place is really good, sister restaurant to pho 79 but more space. The flavor of the soup is fantastic. Get an XL and split with someone and it's ample food/meat for $18. Totally worth it! read more
I drove a good 45 minutes for pho. And it was worth it. The broth was really rich and flavorful. My favorite meats were fatty brisket and tendon. Totally melts in your mouth. Great, quick, and friendly service. I came here early so to there was plenty of seating. However, it will hey crowded and you will have to wait. Very clean establishment The parking lot is tiny so good luck with that. read more
Came to Pho 101 mostly because of the good reviews, but left feeling underwhelmed. I ordered their combination Pho, which was a solid "B" grade. The soup was flavorful, and the beef was tender. I also ordered their Com rice plate with egg loaf, charbroiled pork chop, and charbroiled pork. The egg loaf was really lacking flavor, and the charbroiled pork was more like steamed pork without any charbroiled flavors at all. The charbroiled pork chop was decent, though. Needless to say, I was disappointed. However, the service was good, and I enjoyed the whole environment of the restaurant. read more
The best pho I've tried. I've been to so many pho restaurants but this is my favorite now. My bf kept raving about this place so I was so curious why. We ordered pho, crispy chicken, and egg rolls. The broth was amazing. So flavorful and I was in awe. The noodles were also the perfect amount of chewy and I was savoring each bite. The egg rolls were so crunchy and tasty. The crispy chicken was good with the sauce but I felt like it was a bit too salty for me. It's good for a couple bites and then it starts to become very salty. Besides that, I loved my experience at this pho spot. The food was delicious and I will definitely be back!!! read more
I only go here for the house special item and it's my favorite because it's well balanced and fills me up! Soup, rice, crispy fried chicken and salad. The pho was good too and had a big size bowl. The servers here are polite and I think they recognize me because I always order the house special and they greet me and say goodbye with a smile always. We also tried the buttered chicken this time; it was tasty, though the portion size doesn't quite compare to what their sister restaurant offers. The ambiance is great--modern, clean, and welcoming. delicious, large servings, and quick service, what's not to like! it's great that you get the option to pick which types of meat you want in your pho. along with that it's a hefty serving. the large is enough to serve two people. the parking lot was a little packed when we came on a saturday night but was still able to find a spot. there were plenty of spots inside the restaurant so we were above to get seated right away. read more

Stopped by Pho101 and had a good experience. The soup was flavorful and deep. I was impressed by the amount of meat in my bowl (brisket, flank, and tendon were all good). Also enjoyed the egg rolls and spring rolls. Definitely a reliable place for a hearty bowl of Pho. read more

Same owners or something as Pho 79! Ample parking compared to the other spot and they accept credit cards. In addition, it is a more modern feel with a new interior. My fav is the house chicken w white rice along w the garlic sauce and some salad. Whatever they put in the sauce is crack bc it is super addicting! The pho was super flavorful as well. read more

Sister restaurant to pho 79, the owner said they use the same exact recipe but have a more condensed menu. It's about 15$ for a regular pho bowl here via $19 at pho redbo, the broth was way more hearty, bigger and there was way more meat and pho noodles. The restaurant is modern but not the cleanest. Lots of dishes were stacked out in the open near the tables. The service was quick although other guests had to flag down waiters to take their orders. Probably my favorite pho restaurant in the area. read more

Amazing!!! Get the pho and egg rolls! The service is great (they always give me rubber bands for me to tie up my hair) and the food comes out super quickly. My favorite hands down is their pho since the broth is flavorful and their noodles are never overcooked. They're also very generous with their veggie portions and the veggies are always very fresh. I love getting the tripe since the portions are hugeeee. read more

Worst customer service. Came in tonight and a server who is always there Friday nights came up to us and told us they were closed, it was 8:40. It says online 9pm, and when you call they say 9pm. This waiter just wanted to get out early on a Friday night. Glad this happened because we came to Redbō instead and it's much better experience, friendly staff, great pho. Customer service is always awful, they often mess up orders, and then don't even apologize, nor do they adjust your bill when they mess up. This was our Friday night Pho place, (due to the location, easy access off the 405) but now we will be going to Redbo (Pho place we discovered). read more
Came by around 12:3o pm on a Friday. Place was fairly busy. We were greeted upon entry and directed to a table. I ordered the plain pho (large) with a side of oxtail. That is my favorite order and my overall favorite Vietnamese restaurant for pho Their oxtail side is so tender and flavorful. I also ordered their fried chicken. Food came out timely and at the right temperature. All of the food was very good. Large pho with side is just over $20 but could feed 2-3 people. Service was efficient. I started feeling under the weather last night and lost my appetite, so I turned to my go-to comfort food: pho. That's when I decided to try Pho 101, a sister restaurant to the Michelin-starred Pho 79. The service was fast and efficient--I ordered the veggie pho with shrimp, and it arrived within five minutes. The broth was comforting and absolutely hit the spot. Portions are huge! Even the small size feels like a large, so be mindful when ordering. I absolutely love this little hidden gem. Pho 101 is an offshoot of Little Saigon's legendary Pho 79 and can be found in a complex across the street from Bella Terra. Like its sister restaurant, you can expect a wait due to its popularity. We arrived around dinner time on a Saturday and there were 7 parties ahead of us, but thankfully the queue moved quickly. The restaurant space is spacious on the interior and can seat plenty of parties. The menu is simplistic and includes appetizers, pho, bun, rice dishes, drinks and desserts. What I appreciated most are that you can choose up to 4 items for your pho at no additional cost and the sheer size of their bowls. I ordered a Large and it was quite possibly the biggest bowl of pho I've ever consumed and that's a definite plus for a voracious eater like me! We also ordered rice dishes to go. We could take the freshness of their ingredients and broth. It really hit the spot on a frigid and cold night out! I'm already looking forward to my next visit. read more
I love Pho 101! Been going here since they opened. Easy drive from work, if get my fix every few weeks. The food is so delicious whether it be pho, broken rice, or their combo. I get the 3 item combo with 2 pork chops and 1 egg roll. Pork chops are so moist and flavorful! Egg roll is big and the skin isn't typical. So crunchy and light. The is attractive at $16 for a big plate of food. Pre covid was $13 which was way under priced. Service is always excellent! And the ambiance is pleasant. The restaurant and restrooms are really clean. The employees are always nice and on top of it. read more

This is my favorite pho restaurant because their broth is bomb and they give you the option to sub with egg noodles- don't judge me, I like to mix it up sometimes. Their portions are HUGE too! Service is always great. Staff are always smiling and very welcoming. The restaurant is very cozy with plenty of parking. read more

The entrance is a bit weird as there's only an opening on the right side of Edinger facing beach Blvd so coming from HB going down Edinger, I would always have to bust a u-turn to come into this plaza. There's always ample amount of parking as this is the only establishment open. This place use to be our go to pho spot when they first opened a few years ago as their soup use to be legit. Now the soup have so much msg in it :( We ordered the medium pho with rare steak, fatty and tendon. The steak came well done which was a bit disappointing. The size for a medium is huge. We usually order the large to share. The ox tail was also a bit on the harder side. Overall: Service was really good and they have rented out another unit so now there's a lot more space then before but due to the msg, I'd be less likely to return. The only reason why we decided to give it another go was because our family wanted to eat here. read more

The last time I came here 5 years ago I was told by the server that the vegetarian pho uses chicken broth. Is that still the case or do they use vegetable broth now?

I went there last week and they said that the restaurant would be closed for 2 weeks (I assume for Lunar New Year?). Does anyone know if it's open now?
There was a sign saying they're closed through 2/9/2023. So another week until they're back

I think their hours are 9 am to 9 pm every day but they are closed on Tuesdays.
What is the name brand of the chili oil they bring out with the oxtail? It's delicious
The chili sauce is called sate or sa te. I'm pretty sure it's made in house but there are a variety of store brands that you can buy.
As of sept 14 2021 how many outdoor tables do they have and how many does each table seat? About. Does not need to be exact.
We went around Sep. 5th and there were 4 tables under the outdoor tent that can seat 4-7 people per table.
Are the pho bowls plastic or ceramic/porcelain?
I was just there on Saturday and they are the heavy weight plastic - like melamine.
As of may 18 2021 do they have outside dining and about how'many tables?
Hmm, I was there yesterday and there were some tents positioned outside, but their expansion still seems to be in progress, so perhaps they're not ready yet. You can call them tomorrow to confirm when they re-open (closed on Tuesdays)
Mung beans with coconut milk?
It's a great Vietnamese's desert. Should try it at least once and judge for yourself.
Is the vegetable pho completely vegetarian?
The ingredients are, but the broth is made from beef products.
Can you call ahead for a table?
don't think so; your best bet is to go during off-peak hours and you'll be seated immediately. or call in your order for takeout.
Does the oxtail here have the same taste as the one in Pho 79? Is parking better here?
I am not sure about the taste of the oxtail but like both. The parking is better at Pho 101 usually. I love both restaurants and the staff.
Do they run out of oxtail by a certain time like pho 79?
I go once a week late and night and I always see that plate on somebody's table. I think its safe to say they don't but maybe calling ahead will guarantee they haven't run out for that day.
