Ive been going to Quan Vy Da as a kid so its pretty much a comfort food. The taste has remained consistently delicious throughout the years. Portions are generous for a fair price! Highly recommend the Com Ga, their Vy Da special rice is unbeatable and savory. If you're dining it, the banh xeo is great for sharing. Large parking lot. Can be a bit busy during lunch hours on weekend.
It has been a while since I last ate at Vy Da. My family used to go here all the time for bún bò huế, but we moved to Anaheim, so we haven't been back as often. Vy Da is known for their selections of Huế food. We ordered one order of bánh bèo and one order of bánh ít ram. One of the big reason we came back is because I was craving the viral bánh ít ram. Personal opinion, but I think they have better bánh ít ram than Ngự Bình ( the viral Tiktok place) because Vy Da has better fillings ratio! Their bánh bèo is also sooooo good because of how soft the bánh are. I will have to say their bún bò is alright. It's not as flavorful as I remember, but still a decent bowl of bún bò huế. I'm glad to see that their business is doing well and the atmosphere of the restaurant is as lively as I remember. I will def come back for their bánh ít ram.

My fav/go-to's are: ~ Bun Bo Hue Vy Da Dac Biet = Viet traditional special noodle soup w/ beef, pork shank, tendon, pork blood cubes, meatball } I just like the beef & meatballs..I give everything else to the hubs. Put some of their chili sauce/oil & squeeze some lime and it's BOMB.com! The broth is rich & comforting..a total reminder of home ~ Com Ga Vy Da = special rice w/ shredded chicken } So healthy and light ~ Banh Beo Chen Vy Da = steam rice cakes w/ ground shrimp } The rice cakes are the perfect balance of chewiness and thickness. Crush some fresh pepper in your nuoc mam (fish sauce) and it's chef's kisssss! My friend took me on a Vietnamese food tour and this was our first spot! We got the bun bo hue and hue combo appetizer. The bun bo hue was good until we found a piece of hair in it. The appetizer had so many new foods I've never tried before and it was great. This place was PACKED with people and they were all Vietnamese. That's when you know it's good.
I tried the trending Vietnamese dish 'Banh it Ram' from here which is a fried & steamed dumpling with shrimp & pork. It was good, but I feel like it could've been better mainly because of the texture.The bottom part was crispy, but not crispy enough based on videos I've seen from other food content creators. I expected a lot of crunch from the crunchy part, but the center ended up being kind of chewy. The top mochi-like part was good though. The flavor of the dish was great overall with the meat and fish sauce. These were made to order and the restaurant staff told me that this would take 15-20 minutes to make. I would still opt for Banh Khot, but this was still good. Another spot might make this dish better. This spot is also a standard Vietnamese restaurant with sit down dine-in options along with takeout. Parking in the plaza can get tricky since the lot gets packed on the weekends.
I've been coming to this place since I was a kid, and it continues to be one of my favorite spots. The service is always amazing. The staff is attentive, friendly, and quick to help. The food quality has also remained consistently great over the years. You can never go wrong with the bun bo hue or banh beo; they're both delicious and have maintained the same great taste for as long as I can remember. The restaurant is clean and has such a nostalgic atmosphere that makes every visit feel special. I would definitely recommend coming here with family and friends. Just be prepared for a wait if you visit during peak hours, especially on Saturdays!
Probably one of the best hun bo hue spots I've had recently. Flavor and ingredients are authentic, and there is lots of meat in the one regular sized bowl of soup. Service is good, food comes out quick, but sometimes during weekends and height of hours it could have a wait. The biggest downside for this spot is the parking. During weekends the parking is horrible and you're circling the lot for a while until you can get lucky to get a spot. If you're lucky enough to park then the food here is pretty good to enjoy. Ambience is your typical Vietnamese restaurant. There's a good amount of seating available for dining in.
A Vietnamese restaurant that specializes in Hue cuisine. A traditional country style of dishes such as bun rieu, banh bro, canh bun, mi quang and their infamously known noodle soup called Bun Bo Hue. Quan Vy Da used to be the go to spot for BBH. My family has been going to this place for several years but over the years, I feel like this place lost their quality. It's still good and will do the job if you're looking for a that spicy lemongrass flavor but I think the broth became too watered down for me. I got their canh bun is which another rendition of bun rieu but with ong choy vegetables and thicker noodles. The taste and ingredients are very similar to each other. Broth was watered down too, portion size is fine so a it's a 3/5 for me. The one thing about this location I loath the most is that the parking here can be an absolute pain. Especially during lunch rush on the weekends. There's just too many shops in this plaza with limited parking spaces, drivers not knowing how to drive/park AND some of the parking spaces are so compact that you'll have to squeeze yourself out your door. That in itself is something to you'll have to ask yourself, "Is it really worth it to dine here...?"

I ordered the large bun bo hue and asked for no pork blood, but they also gave me no brisket or beef slices. I got 6 meatballs and 2 small pork hocks. I've never had bun bo hue with no brisket. Very disappointed! I saw other photos and they do serve it with brisket, so not sure why mine didn't have any. My wife got the banh beo and she liked it. I had some and it was well made with a good amount of shrimp.
My husband saw their bun Bo hue on IG and wanted to check them out. He's not a BBH fan but looking to be one. We came in a Sunday noon and it was pretty busy. We got seated immediately and next to the koi fish pond. My toddler loved it and didn't eat bc he loved looking at the huge koi fish. Good kid feature. We both got a bowl of their BBH special, some banh beo and a shaken beef for my son. Everything was good except the shaken beef which was too sweet and I hate how they added this salad with American salad dressing on it. If they kept that out and used less sugar it's good. The BBH was good, not as deep in flavors as some, but just enough. Beefy flavor, light lemongrass. Plenty of meat and I can tell they do not use MSG (or not a noticeable amount), so that was a plus. Lots of fresh veggies and lots of meat, the pork hock was a plus, the tendon could be cooked longer to get that soft chewy texture. But overall, it satisfied the craving. Service wasn't bad. They were pretty nice. We would come back.
A girl on TikTok says she always comes to this place when she comes to SoCal from Norco so I came to try it. Their bun Bo hue was very good, but I really liked their bahn beo! Their fish sauce was delicious to put on it and eat this steamed rice dish. I also tried something new to me bahn it ram! It was mochi crispy shrimp heaven! Service was good and Asian. There's a koi pond induce. Everything was clean. Parking is hard but so worth it! Lots of fun shops nearby. I recommend this spot if you're in the area!

Going back to my roots to get a nice dinner! I love getting Com Bo Luc Lac because restaurants always know how to season it nicely. This place made the meat tender, flavorful, and so addicting! I finished the whole plate! Love that they give a bowl of soup so it's easier to wash down our meal. Service was quick and attentive. Every time we come to California, this is one of our go-to spots! Their bun bo hue is sooo flavorful and hits every single time. It's the dish I always look forward to getting. We also ordered the com tam and vermicelli noodles, and everything was delicious. The portions are great, and the food always comes out fresh and satisfying. We got there just before noon and arrived in time before the lunch rush. Luckily, we were seated right away, which was a huge plus because this place gets busy fast. I have been coming to this restaurant for more than 10 years, but I never got around to writing a review until now. I've always enjoyed their Bún Bò Huế and Bánh Bèo Chén because the flavors have always suited my taste. During my most recent visit, I was a little disappointed because I felt the quality was not quite the same as before. The meat portion seemed smaller while there were more noodles compared to my previous visits. It could have just been my experience this time, but I did notice a difference. The service has always been friendly, but during this visit, I did not feel the same level of attention and warmth as before. Hopefully, the service will become more attentive again in the future. Parking in this area has also become much more difficult than it used to be because there are many more businesses and restaurants around now. read more

This is now one of my top picks for Bun Bo Hue! One of the best I've had so far. Knocks the socks off of all the ones I've had in LA. I got the XL bowl and it was loaded with various meats. I especially loved the meatballs. The pork hock could have been a bit more tender just to make it easier to eat but was still delicious nevertheless. The pork blood cubes were fresh and had no irony taste. One of the best accouterments for me are the fresh veggies and herbs which they are very generous with. The chili and sate on the table are actually spicy and delicious as well, taking the soup to the next level. There's so many more places I want to try but knowing I love the Bun Bo Hue here will make that kinda tough to do now. read more
Heard this place serves up good Bun Bo Hue so I decided to give them a try. Parking here is a bit difficult since the restaurant is in a very busy shopping center. The restaurant is just your typical Vietnamese restaurant. There's plenty of tables. The nice thing about this place is that they have a cool looking Koi Fish Pond. We ordered the Bun Bo Hue Dac Biet and the Banh Beo Chen. Loved the Banh Beo Chen. Was so good. As for the Bun Bo Hue, it was ok until I added some chili sauce to it. That made it tastes better. I saw they have other dishes that caught my eyes. I will be back one day to try them out. read more

Theres plenty of space inside and very family restaraunt level service. They give an abundance of toppings/decent portions and the staff is very nice/homely feeling. The menu is simple, casual ambiance, family friendly though probably suited more for groups of 4-6. Non vietnamese speaker friendly. The bun bo hue was okay, a lot cleaner of a broth and less red/tomatoey than I expected. Lots of toppings including mixed cartilage. Good portion. The banh it ram was what was the most memorable for me. It is on the oily deep fried side, but surprisingly bigger what we expected and they were generous with rhe super extra large fatty shrimp. The combination of rice cake and shrimp (shell on) with the fish dipping sauce was delicious. Itd be great with some vegetable wraps Overall, recommending to come here. Still the BEST bun Bo hue in town!! I've tried all placed in OC and nothing compared to the BBH and other Hue dishes here. Service is quick and food is good! Staff is extremely nice and attentive. Most are young and speak English well. The restaurant is relatively old and furnitures need updating but overall it's a great place for good and hearty food!! We arrived for lunch and were promptly seated. None of the lights were on so it was a little dim with just the natural light coming in. It was cozy and the food came shortly after. We order the bun bo hue and banh beo. The banh beo was sticky and took a little bit to get out but very yummy! The broth for the bun Bo hue was delicious too. There is a good proportion of noodle, meat, and broth. I would recommend! read more

Thank you to my OC friends for showing me this gem! I'm now a fan. It was quite busy on a Sunday morning, but it wasn't hard to flag down assistance. Orders were placed promptly. The bun rieu took some time to come out, but we were too pleased with the banh beo and banh nam to make it a fuss. The texture of those specialties hit the damn spot so good with a side of chili satay or sliced Thai chilis. The Viet coffee was also strong, just the way I like it. Good for smaller groups with a noisy ambiance you would find in any OC Viet joint. Also, love any opportunity to practice my broken Vietnamese. I def recommend! read more
Delicious BBH & banh bot loc! Our first time here since I heard this is one of the best bun bo hue spots in OC, and I was not disappointed. As soon as we entered, we were greeted (by the owner I believe) and were sat at a clean table. Inside there was a good amount of tables all filled with customers. The BBH had a home cooked meaty taste to the broth and it was very flavorful. The veggies provided were a very generous portion and I loved that they had fresh chili peppers at each table. Been coming here for the past 10 years and I recently re-visited since I live in the bay now, and their menu is definitely more condensed in the best way possible! The two most popular items are the banh beo and the bun bo hue, and they are still super delicious! Banh beo 9/10 They actually give you a lot of small banh beo plates considering it's an appetizer. Idk what it is about eating banh beo from the singular plates but it tastes so much better when you can scoop out your single one and add the toppings you want. I always smash some chillies in there to make it super spicy Bun Bo hue is 9/10, the soup is so flavorful and noodles are soft but still have that perfect chew to it. They add lots of meat so this bowl is pretty large, it's a perfect size to share with someone! Checked this spot out this afternoon after getting a lot of recs from other people about the Bun Rieu and Bun Bo Hue here. Service was great - I was greeted right as I walked in, and seated promptly, as I opted to stop by right after the lunch rush. The menu is simple - front and back - dry and wet dishes, drinks, appetizers and desserts. Prices are par for the area - and reflect the quality options. I ordered the Bun Rieu without oc, and requested no pork blood, as well as an iced tea. I docked off a star because my bowl arrived and there was a huge chunk of pork blood in it, which I promptly scooped out. Usually, at other places, when you request the removal of one topping, they'll add an extra piece of meatball, tofu, or tomato - I didn't get that obviously, because the pork blood was left in my bowl. Pork blood cube aside (which I requested in Vietnamese btw, since that's one of the languages I speak fluently) - the bun rieu was great. It's different having the crabmeat minced within the broth, rather than as a block or cube. There was a decent sized meatball, several slices of fried tofu, and several pieces of juicy sliced tomatoes. Perfect ratio of protein and noodles. The regular sized bowl ($14.75) was more than enough for me - although you can opt for a Large if your appetite prefers. Garnishments were plenty - it's a nice premix of shredded banana blossoms, lettuce, bean sprouts and mint. Slice of lime, and a tiny container of shrimp paste - I would've liked more shrimp paste. Restrooms are clean, they have a nice little koi pond in the back, by the restrooms. Cashier was friendly - they take cash and cards here - including AMEX. The only other downside - through no fault of the restaurant - is the parking at the plaza sucks. The spaces are too tight, drivers don't observe parking lot speed, and for some reason, it's always crowded here. I'll probably return to check out their Bun Bo Hue - which I also heard was awesome - and emphasize to the waiter however I can - that I don't want any of the pork blood cubes. read more

This is by far my favorite place in Socal to get Bun bo Hue! I visit this restaurant almost weekly driving an hour and just don't feel like I can get enough. My go to order is a large bun bo hue and it is packed with meat and they provide a huge plate of veggies to add into the soup. I was craving some bun rieu and saw it on their menu as well, it was equally as delicious. I usually come during the weekdays for lunch when it's not as busy. The weekends usually have a wait, but the line moves quickly. Servers are incredibly friendly and usually there's a friendly owner greeting guests as they walk in. read more

Becareful of your receipt. We added 15% tip and the tip was counted on top of the total and taxes. Pease check your receipt when paying card. I know the amount is not much of a difference, but business etiquette should only count tip pre tax total. read more

2.5 stars but rounding up. I love banh beo and saw this place had high reviews for them. They were good, but not amazing and it costed $13.50 for 12. The rice cake was thicker than I preferred and a lot stickier too. I like the chicharrones on the side. It gave it a nice crunchy texture. My husband ordered their bun bo hue and I had a few bites. The flavors are on the lighter side and they only gave him meatballs with 2 pork hocks. Service was quick though and no credit card surcharge over $20 read more
Was craving bun bo hue and found a lot of people recommending this place online. The BBH was on point and the broth was very clear yet super flavorful. Love the portion of veggies they provide and devoured everything. They have a nice chili oil if you want it more spicy as well that gave the soup a nice kick. Definitely my new go to place for BBH! read more

Got the BBH - they give a lot of meat, that's for sure. The soup was lacking a bit of flavor and spice, but after adding the condiments on the table it was better. The tendons in there were not tender enough though. The appetizers are worth trying! A lot of people ordered the banh beo but we got the banh bot lot (good, huge pieces of shrimp) and banh it (wasn't a big fan bc it got stuck in my teeth a lot). read more
Came here craving a comforting bowl of bún bò Huế and it did not disappoint. The broth was rich, hearty, and already packed with that deep beef and lemongrass flavor so you don't even need to doctor it up. But if you're like me and enjoy customizing, they have fish sauce, lemon, and chili right on the table to take it to the next level. We also ordered the bún riêu and it was just as impressive. Super crab-forward with a bright tomato flavor that tasted clean and comforting at the same time. Both soups were flavorful, filling, and hit the spot. Service was quick and friendly, which is always appreciated when you're hungry and staring at steaming bowls coming out of the kitchen. The only downside is the parking situation. It's honestly a nightmare during busy hours, so come early or be prepared to circle a bit. Still, totally worth it for solid Vietnamese comfort food. Will definitely be back. read more

my boyfriend and I come here specifically for their mi quang, which is the yellow turmeric noodle in the photo. however, everytime we come, i also can't resist ordering their bun bo hue so these two dishes is a must for our visit. their Mi quang noodle is a very unique noodle dish that was introduced to me by my bf's family. it comes with a very savory & rich broth on the side that you can pour into the noodle bowl. i would say the base of the broth taste a bit peanut-y and is very different from other vietnamese noodle dishes. i'd highly recommend giving this a try if you love a rich, brothy peanut-y flavor! as for their bun bo hue, it's absolutely delicious and meets my expectations for BBH's :) i also highly recommend giving it a try if you want to venture out from the regular Pho type of noodles! read more
For authentic Hue style food, this is a solid choice. The banh beo is made in traditional little dishes which can be a bit sticky to get out, but it is all worth it when it gets into your mouth. Add the required fish sauce and it is so good. Food comes out quickly and the staff is attentive. The cashier is super friendly. She even remembered me as a customer even though several months had passed since my last visit to this restaurant. read more
Central Vietnamese cuisine! Their Bun Bo Hue is what they're known for, and they do it well. Its a refreshing lighter broth than Southern Pho. If you're a first timer, add the veggies and make sure every bite has both noodles and veggies. And don't forget to keep sipping broth during and between bites. They have Thai chilies on EVERY single table, which honestly is a great colorful decoration since they got green red and oranges on each table. read more
The food here is very good, so the restaurant is very busy. On a weekend, be prepared to wait. Put your name on the list by the door and wait to be called. The line moves quickly though. Inside the medium-sized restaurant, tables are packed closely together but not uncomfortably so. Service is efficient and quick yet friendly. Once you are done eating, head to the register with your ticket to pay. Card and cash are accepted. The parking lot is super busy, so you may need to circle a bit before finding a spot. We had the bánh bèo, bún vịt xáo măng, Vỹ Dạ Combo, and bánh canh tôm cua. I had to take the bún vịt xáo măng home after a couple of bites because I was stuffed. We don't live nearby so it's a treat to get these dishes. read more
This has been my go-to restaurant since I was a kid. My parents would take me here a lot since I enjoyed the Banh Beo when I was little but started to grow into the Bun Bo Hue as well so now they're the two things I come here for. The Bun Bo Hue lacks a little flavor however you can add spices on the side to your liking. I also got the Vietnamese coffee which was delicious , a perfect blend! Service here was quick and easy to order. There's a Koi pond inside the restaurant which really makes this place unique as you basically get to visit the aquarium and restaurant at the same time! read more

What's your Thanksgiving week schedule?
Thanksgiving day we close at 5pm, but are open Tuesday - Sunday from 9am - 8pm. We get a high volume of to-go orders during the holidays so expect delays and call ahead for large orders.
