This is my dad favorite Bun Bo hue place. He went here a lot before he passed. My sister then took me here and I agree!It's the best Bun Bo hue place I know. Now I take my mother regularly. The large bowl is $16.25 and it is a lot of food, enough to share with her. We have them hold the pork bone and blood cube so they add more of other meat. It comes with a full plate or fresh veggies and herbs. We also order the banh beo. It is enough for 2 people. It was 11 am and the restaurant was full but we never had to wait for a table. It has lots of window so nice open space. The service is polite and nice. The table turn over quickly between guest and this particular day, our table was still dirty, I had to ask for rewipe. OG Hue Restaurant - They've been in OC for years and they truly do stand the test of time in delivering solid food. My favorites include their BBH, Bun Vit with Salad, Banh Beo/Combination Platter, Bun Thit Nuong (can get without noodles and sub salad for low carb), Bun Hen. They do a great job with anything that is noodle. (5/5 stars) Where they are a bit lacking is their rice plates. I've always felt hungry and let down when getting Com Tam anything there. Bun Bo Hue used to be a signature dish of this place. However, after COVID-19, the food quality here had declined. The broth wasn't fragrant & flavorful, but bland & tasteless. The beef was frozen, so it wasn't fresh, juicy, or tender like before. The "HUYET" was the worst part, and my sister suffered from food poisoning. She has been vomiting since she got home. Fortunately, medication helped to avoid a trip to the hospital that night. Bun Goi Vit Sao Mang caused my Dad another case of food poisoning. They used a lot of MSG, which caused me dizziness. I love when banh beo is served in the individual dishes like they are here, you can craft each bite with the perfect amount of nuoc mam right when you're ready to eat it so the rest of the toppings don't get soggy. I ordered the Bun Bo Hue and Banh It Ram for takeout, and it was pretty disappointing. The beef had a strong rancid smell like it was spoiled. I couldn't even eat it and ended up throwing it out. The Banh It Ram wasn't great either -- the dough was hard like it had been fried several times. Ngu Binh makes it much better and prepares it fresh to order. We got here at around 5:30pm on a Saturday and there was no wait. They have high chairs and plastic utensils for toddlers. Our food came out pretty quickly. We got the bánh ướt, cơm hến (which is only available Friday-Sunday), bánh beo, and banh canh. Everything was good. Even our toddler ate everything. My personal favorite was the banh beo. We got to Quan Vy Da an hour and a half before closing, and despite the later hour, there was a solid amount of guests eating inside, with a steady trickle of patrons coming in as we were eating. We were seated immediately, and food arrived pretty quickly after ordering. Both of us got the BBH dac biet to try. Quan Vy Da's BBH did not disappoint, and totally satisfied our hot soup/noodle craving on a cool December evening! The pork blood was cooked really well at Quan Vy Da - silky, smooth, and flavored/salted well. I wish they would chop the pork feet smaller, so it'd be easier to eat without hands. Quan Vy Da's menu is straightforward and consists of soup noodles, dry noodles, and rice dishes. They also have specials (đặc biệt) - some of my favorite items like banh bot loc, banh beo, and egg rolls. Next time, I am definitely ordering the Vy Da combo, a sampler of their top sides. Drooling thinking about it, haha. Items are competitively priced at Quan Vy Da. I can see why this is the go-to BBH spot for my brother and his GF. I would definitely would come back! But might be a while, though, given there are so many tasty eats in this area ;) Parking: while there are a lot of spots around, it was quite full when we went. Thinking Fridays-Sundays might be tough(er), not just in finding a spot, but fitting your car in the spot as well. Bring your patience and you'll be rewarded! lol. PS. Came with a friend at 5:30 pm on a Thursday. We were immediately seated and had great service throughout our meal here. The food is at a great price point and honestly unbeatable. We loved everything that we ordered. The vy da combo was so chewy and delicious and a great way to try a little bit of everything. The duck in my soup was also tender. My friend said the bun bo hue was one of the best she's had around the area. I was pleasantly surprised at the complimentary salad as well. The food came out immediately. This place used to taste really good, my mom used to love this place. Upon coming again, as usual she got the BBH, I decided to get the mi quang. My mi quang was good actually, I enjoyed it. However, my mom was really disappointed with her BBH. She told me to try it and well.. it really lacked in flavor, I couldn't put my finger on but the broth was bland and that's like the best part of bun bo hue! I really wish they kept it like before, I remember the broth being really rich and hearty. The service was okay, they just gave us our food and left us alone the remainder of the meal. You won't find pho here, instead some of the more homey soups like bún bò Huế and bánh canh tôm cua along with the standard rice dishes. My crab soup was pretty good, kinda reminded me of egg drop soup with its mild flavor. The noodles were chewy and good. My shrimp balls were also nice and peppery. I didn't fall in love with my dish but could see it being a nice comforting dish. I tried some of the BBH broth from my sister and it was good too. The egg rolls were also good. Was craving for Bún Bò Huế and came across Quan Vy Da. I went on Saturday around 2:30 pm and there was not a wait to get seated. There's parking available in the shared plaza, but it was quite busy. For the order, I got the Bún Bò Huế (#1) and an order of the Bánh Bèo (#30) as well. For the Bún bò Huế, I really enjoyed the broth and thought there was a good amount of everything.
