Peter catered our baby shower event with around 40 people and everything went so smoothly! Our guests loved the banh xeo and eggrolls. Especially the banh xeo that was cooked fresh to order. It was easy to schedule and set up everything directly with Peter. He came early to set up and was flexible with my order. Would highly recommend for any event! read more

Peter and his son were 50 mins late to my event. The event started at 4:30pm and he didn't arrive until approximately 5:10pm. I texted him at 4:30 asking if he was on the way and he said yes. I then asked for an ETA and he said 30 mins away. If you're scheduled for a 4:30pm event and show up almost an hour late, the least you can do as a catering service is to communicate. I had the expectation that he'd arrive at least 15 mins earlier to set up. He didn't offer any apology upon arrival either. He also added a 20% tip on top of the original cost for 50 banh xeos without me realizing it until after the fact, so I ended up paying him more than expected. I would not recommend him for any future events. read more

Had Peter for our baby shower and he was amazing! He made both pho and banh xeo all at once in his crazy 10-burner 360 setup. The banh xeo was so crispy, better than any I've had at a restaurant in LA! The pho was also amazing the beef very delicious and tender. This guy is a beast. Definitely will have him in mind for events in the future. read more

10/10 recommend Banhxeolicious for anyone looking for delicious, high-quality food. Chef Peter and his son are incredibly friendly and experienced, providing fast and clean service. Their menu offers a great variety, but my personal favorite is the Bánh xèo, it's truly one of a kind in all my years of having it. I was beyond satisfied with my experience and would absolutely choose Chef Peter's catering again for future events. read more

He charged 20% tip but the service was bad. Banh xeo wasn't good either. He cooked with ground chicken as the main ingredient and the meat was dry. The fish source was salty and provided very little portion. For the veggies, it's mainly cilantros with very few mints. Overall very disappointed! I don't recommend this catering service. read more

Peter is an incredible chef and his catering really shocked everyone at my party at how amazing his banh xeo is. It is better than a banh xeo you would get in a dedicated banh xeo shop. Not only that, but his freshly grilled chicken wings are another highlight. I also really appreciated his level of communication, timeliness, cleanliness, and hard work ethic. Had Banh Xeolicious for a birthday party. Set up nicely with the other vendors we had there. Clean and organized. Fried fresh banh xeo's for everyone. Made them to your preference. I made mine extra crispy and it was good. Fish sauce was ok. Had no timing or quantity issue like others have had. read more

We were really lucky to have Peter as our chef at our Tea Ceremony and Wedding Party. He was truly outstanding! Best chef!!! Made with love! Cooked to perfection!!! Chicken marinated in goodness! Best best best Laos crispy fried rice!!

I'll start by saying I can wholly appreciate a small independently owned Asian American business. Further, I absolutely love the flavors and textures of the tritip and banh xeo (some at my party said it's the best they have ever had) -- hence the two stars. That being said, I have to give some honest and hopefully constructive feedback. My family's event was our grandfather's death anniversary featuring 35 guests. My uncle scheduled this far in advance, specifying a time and quantity. But how does someone justify arriving at 7 pm when we booked a 5 oclock event? Well when asked why, he simply replied, "Do you want me to leave?" How does someone justify this kind of attitude? Obviously, we're hungry and confused, but how about a little empathy or an earnest apology? I think that could have gone a long way. And then an hour and a half later, capping out at 28 banh xeos when we preordered 50 is definitely not a good look. He was quick to pack up at 8:30 to get to his next gig. When the guests are hungry before and after the catering, can we really say mission accomplished? read more

I do not like to give a bad review for a catering person as they all seem to work very hard but I'm almost shocked at what I received from Hung at my husband's 40th birthday. After less than 3 hours of making bánh xeo we were asked to pay $900 including deposit for a party of around 50-60 people. We also had a taco catering elsewhere. Pricings were not the issue. It was how dirty his station was that embarrassed me with all my guests. The banh xeo station stuck out from every other station at the party and in the worst way. We overheard people commenting they will choose tacos because banh xeo set up looks unsanitary. Meats were put in ziplock bags instead of containers. Buckets of greens were on the floor. Right when he arrived and pulled out the pans they were thick in grease and grime as though he never cleaned them for years. A day before the party he even asked if we can move our whole event half an hour later! No, as a party vendor you don't ask the host to change the time with all their guests to accommodate you. Mind you I have booked him almost half a year in advance. We paid him almost 3 times that of tacos but what we received didn't justify the price. The tacos came with variety of meats and fed everyone and with leftovers. We will not rehire this business. read more

Reason for the two star: really poor customer service. The wait for the food is ridiculous. I came here twice: one was dine in and the other was to take out. We order the tri tip and banh xeo..food is flavorful. read more

Gone in 60 seconds. Have you seen that movie with Nicolas Cage? Well, that's how fast Peter's food disappears when you serve it at a party. I ordered the Tri tip for my party. Tried 2 pieces, went to take a couple of group pictures, and came back in 20-30 minutes and it was gone!! So not quite 60 seconds, but it moved fast!! That's a testament to how yummy it is, considering I served other delicious dishes too. Let's not even talk about the sauce that comes with the Tri tip, I mean I would eat banh xeo, banh cuon, every salad with it if I could. I would buy a gallon of it if it was sold that way. Lol. If you don't need any food catered, you need to check out his restaurant located on 2nd floor of Saigon supermarket. Vietnamese crepe is his specialty. (Banh xeo). It's not thin like French crepes. This is a hearty meal. You get meat, shrimp, and a plethora of fresh herbs to wrap it in. It's also not greasy like other places. So pure perfection! You know how kids are picky eaters? Well, my 4 year old is just like any 4 year old in the picky arena, and he devoured his banh xeo and asked for a 2nd one!! That's how bomb these banh xeo's are. Definitely try if you're in the area. They have other items on their menu that we've yet to try. Will be back soon!! read more

Very disappointed in this service!! The food was delicious but the chef was over two hours late to our event! He was extremely rude after arriving and even forgot to bring the fried rice we ordered. He even failed to successfully make all the food we ordered!! We order 50 banh xeo and he was only able to make 28 because he ran out of batter!! To top it off he never even apologized! Overall take your money elsewhere. read more

My family came here for dinner since my mom heard great review about this new place. It's located on the second floor of Saigon Supermarket (there are signs indicating where to find it) and the area has other small restaurants there as well. There are many tables with a lot of seats, so if you have a large party, it shouldn't be a problem. We ordered 5 bánh xèo, and they came out one by one; Chef Peter Hung made all of them by order. Also, there are no waiters, Chef Peter does it all! The bánh xèo came with a plate of leafy greens and a small dish of nc mm (fish sauce). The great thing about his bánh xèo is that its very crispy and not saturated with oil, like those served at bánh xèo was pretty small (for the price, you can get bigger bánh xèo elsewhere) and so the dish was, overall, underwhelming. read more

I recently discovered the coolest new party food! Banh Xeo! Rather than getting a standard taco guy I decided to change it up and get a Banh Xeo Guy for my brothers surprise 30th birthday! I messaged Chef Peter about 5 days before the party and he was very accommodating and was able available to cater the party. We ordered banh xeo for around 30-40 people and wings as well. Everything was so delicious. The banh xeo was super crispy and packed with proteins and ton of flavor. The wings were grilled on the spot and very juicy. My brother is currently on dialysis so he has a limited diet and was not able to have coconut, which is an ingredient in the Banh Xeo batter. Chef Peter was very accommodating about this and made my brother his own batter. My brother tried his special banh xeo and it was as delicious as the others! It was still very crispy and packed with flavor as well. Very impressed! He also has other catered food options that I will be sure to try next time. The whole set up is so cool! Chef Peter arrived 30 minutes early and set up his own canopy and grill. It was very well thought out and he is super professional as well. He provided plates, vegetables, and dipping sauce for the banh xeo. I believe he was there for 3 hours and at the end he totaled everything up for us and gave us the final price since he charges per banh xeo. The price is reasonable and everyone was super satisfied with the food. I will definitely be hiring him again in the future and referring him to all my friends! Thank you Chef Peter!! read more

Who would've thought on a rainy day one would crave the motherland cuisine of simple ingredients such as coconut batter with fillings of shrimps, pork bellies and bean sprouts dipped in the delicacy of nuoc mam....the ultimate street food, Banh Xeo. Location: don't get me wrong but there has got to be a better way of finding this location - it was probably a supermarket version of a maze - they really know how to get you excited and work for your food. Restaurant is actually located on the second floor towards the back of the supermarket on the right side guys, follow the signs and green walls the glorious food court Taste: I started out with 3 combos with calamari, shrimp and pork bellies, halfway through my meal, my boyfriend kept trying to feed me other food and I had to stop him 3 times to leave me be so I can enjoy my banh xeo, in other words I was focused. The batter is so crispy and chewy on the inside, the meat is cooked to the right temperature, and the bean sprouts are not overcooked nor undercooked....needless to say, I ordered two more to go and put the chef to work Thank you Chef Hung for a small mini trip down memory lane to my hometown of Saigon with these sweet street treats. read more

I ate Chef Peter's food a few weeks back and the food he had cooked was amazing. Truly authentic. He served tho xao lang and be thui and a tri-tip steak. I was out grocery shopping and decided to check out the food court near the supermarket on Westminster Blvd., next to Pho Lu at The Saigon Supermarket. The sign had a picture of some Vietnamese crepe, called Banh Xeo. The price looked reasonable so I decided to give it a shot. Took a look at the simple menu, it also had rabbit meat. I always wanted to try rabbit. I ordered it, and the rabbit meat was tender and juicy. It came with some dipping sauce and the texture was very succulent. The banh xeo was a good size, enough to sure and enjoy with another person. Overall, I'll be coming back for some tri tip and veal. Horrible service. We had a family reunion with about 50 people. The guy was greedy. He catered multiple parties on that day. He was 2 hours late. He was supposed to show up at 5:30 pm. Instead he came at 7:30 pm & didn't even apologize. It took him half an hour to set up. Everybody was tired & hungry. Food was served about 8:00 pm. We've had preordered 50 banh xeo, tri-tips & fried rice. Instead, he could only made 28 banh xeo, tri-tips & but no fried rice as he already used up the supplies for the previous parties. I have to admit the banh xeo & tri-tips were good. However this is not acceptable. Think twice before you want to hire him to do your party. read more
