Delicious egg rolls and whole shrimp egg rolls. This place has always been on my must try list and we finally got to try it out. If you order in person you can only get number 1 or 9 and spend $10. The rest of them need to be orders ahead of time. The egg rolls are very tasty with prominent flavors of pork and shrimp. I didn't taste the crab but it was still good despite that. This is by far one of the best eggroll shops in town if you're around and craving them. The front of the store that faces the street is not really an entrance, as is fairly blocked off and leads to the kitchen. Instead you have to enter the plaza and drive around towards the "back" where you'll see the sign for Kim Hong egg rolls which is literally just a door with a window. It may look really weird, but that's just how the store operates. I went on a Saturday afternoon, somewhat around closing time so there was not many options left. I ordered #1 and #4, and decided to pay cash. They also take credit card. There are other options that require a phone order placement. My order was pretty much ready to pick up within a couple minutes, where staff deep fried the egg rolls immediately so they were piping hot and ready to eat. What I really like about the egg rolls is that they stay crunchy even after a long time, unlike most other stores where if you leave them out then eventually lose their crispiness and you will have to put them in an air fryer to get them crisp again. At the very least, they lasted a couple hours after the initial frying, didn't test any further because finish them all by then. #1 was premium which contains pork, shrimp, and crab however I did not really taste the crap that much so it felt like I was just eating another #4, which was the same order but without the crab in it. However, my taste buds aren't as sensitive to picking up crab flavor so I could just be me. The shrimp is basically a whole piece stuck into the egg roll alongside ground pork so you can definitely taste the difference between the two. Besides the door, there is a table with a small umbrella if you wanted to eat there before leaving. Otherwise, the area itself is pretty minimal really just for picking up egg rolls and going about the rest of your day. I don't really see parking to be an issue especially with the way the store operates on primarily pick up orders, but if it happens to just be super busy it may be harder to find parking. The place is located in a very small hidden spot with very few available parking. We ordered our egg rolls at the window and waited for them to be available. Been meaning to try out these famous eggrolls, and today was my lucky day as my friend from out of town asked me to check them out because she just saw a "Nate Eats" reel... They don't normally have all nine options available all the time, so today, they had Options 1,8 & 9. I bought 3 of each #1 & #9, with sauce on the side. The sauce is just basically your normal sweet chili sauce. Everything was fine until I put one of the shrimp (#9) up to my face and had a nasty smell. Sure enough, when I looked at it, the shrimp was NOT totally cleaned. I wanted to post this so people are aware before going because I feel like they were trying to scam us. But, then told other customers they have #1 and #9 available. So when we tried to clarify, they snapped at us and were so rude. There is really no seating area except for a small side table outside. You order right up to the door that is gated. Now because I pulled up near closing, they were completely sold out of most of the menu except #1 and #9 -- which I ordered. And BABY... when I tell you fresh?? I mean fresh fresh. Hot, crispy, golden, with that perfect crunch factor that makes you pause mid-bite. You can literally taste that these were made with care and not sitting around. I grabbed the sauce too -- your classic sweet chili vibe. You honestly can have it with or without because the eggrolls stand on their own, but the sauce adds that little extra razzle dazzle. I honestly was between a three and a four star, but it was OK. The April's were good but nothing to like have to drive all the way for. If you're in the area great place to go parking is fairly limited, but it really sucks that they only have certain numbers or filling available. So I silently suggest you call and see what they have available. I tried their texting to order ahead, but they told me a minimum of 20 order and when I tried to order at least 20 they were like oh only one and nine were available. The pricing is pretty average for eggrolls, may be slightly more expensive than average, but not too bad I like number one a lot, but the one with chicken and taro was pretty meh to me. I still used Waze and made a few circles first. LOL Parking in the back does fill up quick so be prepared to shuffle, but its moving constant. Small in stature, but very much in charge. She runs the show from behind a small barred window and makes it clear this is not a place where you browse. You show up, you behave, and you order what's available that day. Stuff no fluff, lol! I got there around 3:00 pm. They close around 5 or 6, or whenever they run out. On this visit, the options were slim. Only the number #1 (crab, pork, shrimp) and the number #9 (Large Shimp) were left. Important reminder. You must buy 10 of whatever you choose. No mixing. No samples. No exceptions. No lie. The cost came out to $15 total. Ten egg rolls at $1.30 each plus $1.50 for the chili sauce. The sauce is the standard store bought orange chili sauce, which is fine, but I recommend trying the egg rolls without it first. For me what makes these different is the crab. It sneaks through in a really nice way. A classic crispy egg roll, very well made, then this subtle crab flavor you don't normally get. Dip them in the sauce and they're still delicious, but the crab takes a back seat. Try them plain first. One bonus detail. There's a little metal picnic bench outside, perfect if you're like me and want to eat one immediately while they're still hot. I'm not known for my patience, especially when good food is involved. Service is minimal and direct. Me: "Can I get just one shrimp to try?" Her: "No." It's probably cultural. It's definitely funny. And it's absolutely part of the experience. The front of the place looks like it's closed and maybe for a while - again no fluff...just good stuff . The parking lot is dirty. This is not about ambiance. After seeing all the hype about this place on social media, I finally got to stop by and give this place a try for myself. As someone who grew up eating these similar kind of egg rolls, my standards can be pretty high. However, the premium eggs rolls with crab, pork, and shrimp at Kim Hong were certainly worth the wait. The exterior was fried perfectly along for a smooth texture that was very crispy with each bite. The filling was well-seasoned with the crab meat providing that extra bit of sweetness to the pork/shrimp. Best part was that they were only $1.30 per piece. I ordered 10 and ate them all pretty quickly! The place can be pretty hard to find if you dont know where to look, but once you pull around back into the parking lot, you order from the doorway. I made sure to go during noon peak hours so the lady brought out my food very quickly. She was also very nice and made conversation to get to know me a little. I usually let it slide because I don't think there's any bad intention it's clear they're busy, flustered, and just trying to get through the rush. Still, the disorganization does get frustrating. Trying to locate orders by the last four digits of phone numbers, having people wait even though they clearly ordered ahead (sometimes days in advance)... that part isn't my favorite. The only thing that honestly pulls me away from ordering ahead for events or holidays is the fear of having to wait for an order that was already called in or scheduled. So this is the second time I have driven out from the valley to get some of these delicious eggrolls and it didn't disappoint!! I tried two different eggrolls this time and they were absolutely the best eggrolls I have ever had! I ordered a dozen of the #1 which are pork, shrimp and crab. I also ordered a dozen of the #12 which are the large shrimp. This place is a walk up window and you order your choices. So let me just say the earlier you go the best chance you'll have to try as many different eggrolls. I arrived at 1pm and all that was left was #1 and # 12. This is a must try place if you are ever in Westminster area. Even if you don't , take a trip out to try. You won't be disappointed! read more

When you see something trending online, you gotta check it out right? Kim Hong Eggrolls has been on my radar for 6 months and it was worth it! They really only do one thing and that's egg rolls. They come out fresh and you gotta eat em while they're hot. Their popular egg roll is the number 1 and they did not disappoint. The vibe is very much hole in the wall. You literally order from the back of the restaurant and wait for your food to come out. Definitely all take out, but when you got a whole tray of finger food, do you really need a table? All the food was decently priced and you do have to order a minimum of 10 egg rolls. Parking is kind of hard and this place is easy to miss. So I'd try to come off peak hours and park in the back (since you gotta order from there anyways). The shop owners here are very nice and you should definitely study the menu before you order cause they trying to sling out these egg rolls as quick as possible. read more

Too bad for you that this awesome place is ten miles from my place. Had it been closer you would've gotten some pics. Lol. I went on a Sunday afternoon and man is this place crowded. Not all nine offerings were available but they still had four. The oxymoronic Jumbo Shrimp , the Shrimp Crab & Pork, the Pork & Taro and Shrimp and Pork. The prices are very reasonable and everything is freshly cooked for you. I couldn't believe how people were buying $50 quantities ahead of me. Still only took about 5 minutes of waiting. Huge cup of Spicy Sweet Sour sauce to go with my 15 piece order. Wherever you are in the vicinity of Little Saigon make sure to stop by and get you some of the best Viet Egg Rolls. read more
