Calling all Egg roll lovers... this is a must stop for authentic Vietnamese egg rolls. You will not be disappointed and you can thank me later. LOL This is a hidden gem location. Parking lot is in the back where the ordering counter is located. They have a nice variety of eggrolls. I highly recommend #1 premium eggrolls. It is mixed with pork, crab and shrimp. They also serve fruit smoothies.
I've been wanting to try Kim Hong Eggrolls for a while, and it definitely lived up to the hype! I ordered the Premium Eggrolls and the Large Shrimp Eggrolls, and both were absolutely delicious. The eggrolls were perfectly crispy, not greasy, and packed with flavorful fillings. The Premium Eggrolls had an amazing blend of ingredients, while the Large Shrimp Eggrolls were generously filled with shrimp and had the perfect crunch. The dipping sauces were the perfect finishing touch. The sweet and sour sauce had just the right balance of sweetness and tang, and the shrimp sauce paired so well with the eggrolls that I kept going back and forth between the two. Ordering was super convenient since they accept phone orders, making pickup quick and hassle-free. They also take Apple Pay, Zelle, and credit cards, which made paying easy. Fresh, flavorful food, friendly service, and a smooth ordering process--it's easy to see why this place has such a great reputation. If you're an eggroll lover, Kim Hong Eggrolls is definitely worth a visit. I'll definitely be back for more!
Finally got to try this hole in the wall egg roll shop and I was very impressed with how delicious they were plus the very affordable pricing. I didn't place an order beforehand and arrived around 4:30 PM and they only had #1 and #9 available. They also offer a slight discount if paying with cash. Next time, I'll place an order so I can try the others!
It says on the menu that you can text or call to order ahead, but no one answered or texted back on any of the numbers listed. Anyway, my husband did a pickup order for me and found plenty of parking around 2 p.m. I told him to park in the back, but he didn't see my text in time and ended up parking in the front with no problem. He did confirm that the closest parking is in the back. The lady told him that only items #1 and #9 on the menu were available. She said that if you want the other flavors, you have to place an order ahead of time. However, as I mentioned, no one ever returned my calls or texts. I ordered both #1 and #9 and enjoyed #1 the most, although I didn't really taste the crab. #9 was pretty basic and mainly just shrimp. Honestly, I make more flavorful versions at home. So the sauce definitely made the egg rolls better. That said, I loved how the egg rolls stayed extra crispy even after the hour-and-a-half drive home. The lady was very nice, and she had the egg rolls ready as soon as my husband placed the order. No wait time, and the egg rolls were fresh and piping hot. There is one table there if you wanted to eat right away. The prices were nice and cheap, so I would definitely order again.

The front of the store that faces the street is not really an entrance, as is fairly blocked off and leads to the kitchen. Instead you have to enter the plaza and drive around towards the "back" where you'll see the sign for Kim Hong egg rolls which is literally just a door with a window. It may look really weird, but that's just how the store operates. I went on a Saturday afternoon, somewhat around closing time so there was not many options left. I ordered #1 and #4, and decided to pay cash. They also take credit card. There are other options that require a phone order placement. My order was pretty much ready to pick up within a couple minutes, where staff deep fried the egg rolls immediately so they were piping hot and ready to eat. What I really like about the egg rolls is that they stay crunchy even after a long time, unlike most other stores where if you leave them out then eventually lose their crispiness and you will have to put them in an air fryer to get them crisp again. At the very least, they lasted a couple hours after the initial frying, didn't test any further because finish them all by then. #1 was premium which contains pork, shrimp, and crab however I did not really taste the crap that much so it felt like I was just eating another #4, which was the same order but without the crab in it. However, my taste buds aren't as sensitive to picking up crab flavor so I could just be me. The shrimp is basically a whole piece stuck into the egg roll alongside ground pork so you can definitely taste the difference between the two. Besides the door, there is a table with a small umbrella if you wanted to eat there before leaving. Otherwise, the area itself is pretty minimal really just for picking up egg rolls and going about the rest of your day. I don't really see parking to be an issue especially with the way the store operates on primarily pick up orders, but if it happens to just be super busy it may be harder to find parking. Overall, really recommend coming here to try out the egg rolls as they are super crispy and worth it.

On a Saturday morning at 8:24am in late June, my family and I came here to order some egg rolls. There were 5 cars parked and waiting for their orders. We ordered from a window as shown on instagram of 1 dozen egg rolls and the wait was 10min. The owner was nice and told us to call ahead 2 days advance for July 4th orders. While waiting, we could smelled the frying of egg rolls in the air. The egg roll was hot and oily. As I took a bite, it tastes fine but it tastes better with dipping sauce. They do a nice job to frying the egg rolls for being crispy.
If you know, you know. This place is a hidden gem with a cult following. We got 15 of the #1 and 10 of the #9 big shrimp rolls. WOW. It was so good!!! Both had such amazing flavor and were cooked right there on the spot fresh. The service at the little door window was kind and it felt almost like a speakeasy for amazing egg rolls. We will be back! Yum!
The Best in Town! Today, I picked up 70 Eggrolls (seven different types) from Kim Hong Eggrolls for a meeting and they all got eaten up quickly! I had to let people be aware that there were people that didn't get any! lol! I think I have literally tried every one they make. I have to say they are all delicious!
I was on a work trip and found out about this place through social media influencer, When I approached the drive thru window I was greeted by staff. Staff were friendly and helpful. I ordered a shrimp and combo egg rolls. The egg rolls were delicious and very tasty. The ambiance was customer service friendly. Great place to go to eat egg rolls for reasonable price.
Been meaning to try out these famous eggrolls, and today was my lucky day as my friend from out of town asked me to check them out because she just saw a "Nate Eats" reel... They don't normally have all nine options available all the time, so today, they had Options 1,8 & 9. I bought 3 of each #1 & #9, with sauce on the side. The sauce is just basically your normal sweet chili sauce. Everything was fine until I put one of the shrimp (#9) up to my face and had a nasty smell. Sure enough, when I looked at it, the shrimp was NOT totally cleaned. I know this happens, but since I only bought 3 and two pieces had this issue, I'm guessing it's not a normal process for them to clean their shrimp. After all the hype... I'm disappointed to hear this. Also, just read some ONE star reviews and one said they are known to intentionally overcharge, so I compared my cc statement with what they charged me and sure enough, I was overcharged approx $5, unless that's the price they charge for the sauce (?) As far as the taste: They're JUST "ok"... Crispy, but lacks flavor, like Nate says...

Ordered #1 and #9. #1 had solid flavor, but the filling was a little skimpy. #9 was a letdown--the shrimp didn't taste fresh and came out overcooked, which really took away from the dish. That said, the watermelon slushy was a standout. Super refreshing and easily the highlight--I'd come back just for that alone. Service was quick and friendly, and accepts credit cards. Overall, it's good if you catch it fresh, but I'm not convinced it lives up to the social media buzz. With so many strong options in the area, the competition is real.
I found this spot from one of the reels that was showing this little shop that sells amazing egg rolls! Since we were close we ended up coming here to check this spot out. There is really no seating area except for a small side table outside. You order right up to the door that is gated. It does look a little old school and possibly ghetto but it is well worth it to order from here! The shrimp egg rolls were fire! We ordered 10 and literally ate all of them before leaving the parking lot!! That is how good it is. The spot is so so good! The menu is literally on their gate and also on some signboards. Also don't forget to add fish sauce it is extra but does taste delicious when you dip the egg rolls in it!

Yelp me, Yelp you! Kim Hong Egg Rolls is the definition of a hole-in-the-wall--or maybe a wall-in-the-hole--but either way, the egg rolls are absolutely worth finding! The egg rolls are crispy, fresh, flavorful, and seriously addicting. The staff was very nice and even gave me a sample while I waited. I wasn't able to call ahead and was just trying my luck, but fortunately, they had 100 egg rolls ready for me right on the spot. There's no dining area, so you'll probably be eating them in your car, which I honestly didn't mind because they were so good. Just be careful--you might finish half the order before you even get home! Definitely call ahead because they sell out quickly. Great egg rolls, friendly service, and very reasonable prices. Kim Hong has been on my radar for far too long. Once they went viral, my interest peaked again. Finally checked it off the bucket list. Easy 5 stars. There's no sign posted but minimum is 10 rolls. You can mix and match. I wanted the pork and shrimp but they were out; Sunday at noon. The woman at the window said they only had #1 pork+shrimp+crab, #8 chicken+taro, or #9 large jumbo shrimp available. I opted for the pork+shrimp+crab. Fried perfectly crisp without being overly greasy...these were enjoyed immediately in the parking lot and at home. The veggies are finely grated and the rolls are nicely seasoned. As noted in other reviews, there is no street parking and the lot holds apx 1 dozen spots & 1 handicapped spot. There's one park bench/table but everyone I saw got them to go. You cannot beat the pricing or quality. Worth the viral hype. 100% will be back! read more

This little place gets a lot of business and fanfare! I've heard of it so I finally ordered for the Super Bowl 60 egg rolls... I arrived at 12:30, about 30 minutes before the time to pickup and luckily I did as more and more people kept rolling in and leaving disappointed as signs said sold out and they keep announcing to people waiting pickup only.... Did I get lucky? They didn't have my order that I emailed them and she asked if I had a reply and I showed her what was an auto reply.... Message She wrote down my order and got it for me 10 to 15 minutes later and she said next time only text or call nobody checks the email!!!! I felt relieved that they still fulfilled the order... So happy to be able to call or text orders. I called early morning and was told to come after 3PM. Usually they have #1 and #9 but all the rest you need to order ahead of time, preferably 24 hrs or more. I love taro so I was excited for #5 pork and taro. They were good but I couldn't taste the taro. Next time I will try the vegetarian ones but it doesn't mention the vegetables, only taro. The bag lists the Eggrolls they offer as well as the number to call or text in your order. Sauce is $1.50 per container. The parking lot was full as it shares the building with 2 other businesses. So boom. I was in the neighborhood and realized I wasn't too far from Kim Hong Eggrolls. Of course I double-checked the time because they were close to closing and I did not want to miss out on something I've heard about. Let me help you out -- if you pass Golden West Village, you might pass this spot right up. It's lowkey tucked. But if you're using your maps, just slow down right before Golden West Village and pull into the back parking lot. Far right side? Back door. Line of people standing there? That's how you know you made it. They do take card (even tap on your phone), so no cash panic needed. Now because I pulled up near closing, they were completely sold out of most of the menu except #1 and #9 -- which I ordered. And BABY... when I tell you fresh?? I mean fresh fresh. Hot, crispy, golden, with that perfect crunch factor that makes you pause mid-bite. You can literally taste that these were made with care and not sitting around. I grabbed the sauce too -- your classic sweet chili vibe. You honestly can have it with or without because the eggrolls stand on their own, but the sauce adds that little extra razzle dazzle. Only reason for 4 stars instead of 5? The lady who took my order was slightly rude. But to be fair, it was the end of the day, they were closing, and they had clearly been busy selling out of everything -- so I'm giving grace. Overall? A hit. I would absolutely come back -- especially earlier in the day so I can try more of the menu. Perfect for a party... or a party for one (no judgment over here ). Moral of the story: Don't be last-minute like me. Go early. Get more options. And prepare for that CRUNCH. read more

Heard all the craze all the way from VA so when I was visiting my friend in Cali, I knew we had to hit this spot. We arrived at 9:30a and they were practically sold out of everything!! They only had the #1 #8 and #9 left. We ordered all 3 of course to try; Everything came out in less than 10 minutes, and was super FRESH, HOT, AND CRISPY!! #1 Pork Crab Shrimp - 3/5 - I wish the combo had taro on it but it was okay, nothing too crazy! #8 Chicken + Taro - 3/5 #9 Whole Shrimp - 5/5 - I LOVED this one, its a whole shrimp rolled up and fried. It was delicious. I would def recommend checking out this place; I love the concept of an all Egg roll shop. I highly recommend placing your order at 6:30am! It's great for parties and events, you can just order a whole tray in advance with their ph # through text. Thanks to @nate.eatz for this hook up. I made this place hard to find by not simply opening my eyes, the address and name on the building are clear as day. I still used Waze and made a few circles first. LOL Parking in the back does fill up quick so be prepared to shuffle, but its moving constant. We went Saturday to check it out, wife and I just ordered a few pieces of what was on hand. The #1 was my favorite but the "Large shrimp" was a nice surprise as it was a large whole shrimp inside the roll. Tried a couple drinks too. Everything was AMAZING. Went back Sunday knowing if we order 10 of any pieces they will make them if they ran out. 10 pork shrimp and crap 20 Pork and shrimp 10 Large shrimp We texted the order and asked as soon as possible, they texted back and 15 minutes later our order was fresh out the back. I typically dont like sea food mixed, but honestly the pork, shrimp and crab had zero fishy taste and all flavor. Like my grandson would say "Amazing". If you want the best egg rolls of your entire life, prepare to walk a lil on the wild side. You pull up to a shady back door action that looks like every bad decision I've ever swiped right on. You walk up to a white metal security gate, whisper the secret password like you're meeting your sneaky link, and slide them CASH for the Asian discount we have all grown up with because we don't get played twice. And then... the magic happens. They hand you a tray of egg rolls that put every man I've ever talked to, to shame. Crispy but never burnt... unlike my last situationship that still stings. Juicy and packed with actual big chunks of shrimp unlike the guy on Tinder who lied about "6 feet." And they definitely didn't skimp... unlike every "bare minimum" man I've ever dated. These egg rolls? (Unlike my last BF) are... Consistent. Reliable. Show up when they say they will. Honestly, my most stable relationship this year. Utter perfection. Sketchy location, elite flavors. If you've ever wondered what happens when you combine the Soup Nazi from Seinfeld with egg rolls, congratulations. You've found Kim Hong Egg Rolls. I assume the lady who served me was Kim. Small in stature, but very much in charge. She runs the show from behind a small barred window and makes it clear this is not a place where you browse. You show up, you behave, and you order what's available that day. Stuff no fluff, lol! I got there around 3:00 pm. They close around 5 or 6, or whenever they run out. On this visit, the options were slim. Only the number #1 (crab, pork, shrimp) and the number #9 (Large Shimp) were left. Important reminder. You must buy 10 of whatever you choose. No mixing. No samples. No exceptions. No lie. The cost came out to $15 total. Ten egg rolls at $1.30 each plus $1.50 for the chili sauce. The sauce is the standard store bought orange chili sauce, which is fine, but I recommend trying the egg rolls without it first. For me what makes these different is the crab. It sneaks through in a really nice way. A classic crispy egg roll, very well made, then this subtle crab flavor you don't normally get. Dip them in the sauce and they're still delicious, but the crab takes a back seat. Try them plain first. One bonus detail. There's a little metal picnic bench outside, perfect if you're like me and want to eat one immediately while they're still hot. I'm not known for my patience, especially when good food is involved. Service is minimal and direct. Me: "Can I get just one shrimp to try?" Her: "No." It's probably cultural. It's definitely funny. And it's absolutely part of the experience. The front of the place looks like it's closed and maybe for a while - again no fluff...just good stuff . The parking lot is dirty. This is not about ambiance. This is about really good egg rolls without the hassle of making them yourself, because frozen ones don't even come close. Bottom line, the egg rolls are excellent. The experience is oddly fun. You get what you get, and if you're lucky, polite, and early enough, you walk away with a box of great egg rolls and a small slice of culture. Thumbs up. After seeing all the hype about this place on social media, I finally got to stop by and give this place a try for myself. As someone who grew up eating these similar kind of egg rolls, my standards can be pretty high. However, the premium eggs rolls with crab, pork, and shrimp at Kim Hong were certainly worth the wait. The exterior was fried perfectly along for a smooth texture that was very crispy with each bite. The filling was well-seasoned with the crab meat providing that extra bit of sweetness to the pork/shrimp. Best part was that they were only $1.30 per piece. I ordered 10 and ate them all pretty quickly! The place can be pretty hard to find if you dont know where to look, but once you pull around back into the parking lot, you order from the doorway. I made sure to go during noon peak hours so the lady brought out my food very quickly. She was also very nice and made conversation to get to know me a little. There is only ine picnic table outside where you can sit and eat, but this is more of a to go place anyways so I took my egg rolls home...and they were still crispy about 20 mins later. Still a five out of five for me ! no question. The taste, flavor, and that heat that hits my mouth the second I bite into one in my car after pickup? Absolutely worth it every time. That said, after going many more times since my first review, I feel like it's only fair to share the full experience. The first time I ever went, I hit a slower time, which was honestly genius on my part. But since then especially through the holidays and birthdays. I've been ordering ahead a lot. And I mean big orders: 50-100 egg rolls at a time for Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc. During those busier times, they can be a bit rude and unorganized. I usually let it slide because I don't think there's any bad intention it's clear they're busy, flustered, and just trying to get through the rush. Still, the disorganization does get frustrating. Trying to locate orders by the last four digits of phone numbers, having people wait even though they clearly ordered ahead (sometimes days in advance)... that part isn't my favorite. The only thing that honestly pulls me away from ordering ahead for events or holidays is the fear of having to wait for an order that was already called in or scheduled. That's inconvenient, especially when you're picking up large quantities for a gathering. All that being said; none of this changes the fact that the food is delicious. This is still an amazing egg roll spot, and I'd never tell anyone not to try it. Just maybe plan a little extra time if you're ordering big or going during peak holiday rush. read more

You'll have to turn into the little alley way that I dropped on the pin to get to the parking lot/to get to the front! Very fresh, delicious egg rolls! We came a little later in the day so they only had #1 #8 & #9 available. The service was fast and would definitely come back again to try more! read more

The egg rolls here use Chinese flour based wrappers not the traditional Vietnamese banh trang rice wrapper.
This is a bit of a long shot but... is anyone that has been here, also been to King Eggrolls in the Bay Area? I'm wondering if the eggrolls taste similar.
King Egg Rolls is my favorite egg roll shop in San Jose and I use to live in San Jose. Kim Hong is not similar in taste. I have been on a huge search too for egg rolls similar to King Egg rolls =(
