Got their half chicken plate with a side of noodles and everything was good. I liked how the chicken came with so many different sauces! The noodles also had good flavor as well. I liked the small crispy pork bites they put on top of the noodles. I also ordered Vietnamese iced coffee & it was too sweet. I felt like I was drinking milk, wish it had a stronger coffee taste.

When we walked in, we were greeted and seated right away. Menus brought to us, and drink orders taken very quickly thereafter. The food took some time to come out, it's not quick, so make sure you have some time on your hands. The chicken looked beautiful, but it wasn't as great as its presentation. It was ok. Honestly, el pollo loco would give it a run for its price. The pandan sweet rice was perfect. Perfectly cooked and perfectly sweet, not overly sweet. The 'bot chien' which is fried flour (cakes), kind of like rice cakes, fried with eggs, was pretty good. Try it if you want, but don't expect too much from th chicken.

Clay Jar Grilled Chicken, half size takeout ($19.99). 4/11/2026

This is definitely the place to go if you like chicken with a bit of smokey flavor. I ordered the following for takeout: Clay Jar Grilled Chicken, half size ($19.99), Pandan Sticky Rice ($4.99), Chicken Rice ($4.99), and Crispy Rice ($4.50). The chicken come with dipping sauces and seasoning as well as Vietnamese Coriander leaves. I personally didn't think the chicken needed any of it as it was so flavorful by itself, but it was nice to have for the rice. The three different rice flavors was unique in their own way and I liked all three. The Crispy Rice was on the smaller side, but it was my favorite one of the three. The half size chicken was more than enough for four people including the three separate rice orders. Service was friendly and everything was packed well for takeout. No complaints here!

First time trying clay jar grilled chicken. The skin was nice and crispy on the outside but not dry on the inside. Probably a "healthier" alternative to the usual fried chicken dinner. Also is more catered to Vietnamese flavors. It's a good option every now and then but idk if I'll be craving it. Still neat to try out. We went during lunch on a weekday so we were able to get seated right away. The service was nice and they made sure we had everything we needed. I'll probably come back to try their other dishes.

I love their pandan sticky rice. I wish they used more pandan leaves so the flavor would be more fragrant and stronger. The chicken skin is super crispy. Not sure how many people are rushing to pay $40 for a whole chicken, but it serves 3 to 4 people. Fast and friendly service. The storefront is hidden in a scary parking lot. The restaurant is clean, but there is no AC, so it was a little stressful when we came on a 97° day.

Visiting our daughter in LA- tried out A Nu Quan. What an unexpected surprise and treat. Pandan sticky rice had nice flavor, not too sweet. The clay jar chicken had a subtle Smokey flavor went well with the chewy noodles/ vegetables. The rice cakes with egg nice and crispy. Service was friendly and efficient. Looking forward to going back.

Á Nù Quán is a small family-owned restaurant located on Garden Grove Blvd and Newland. It is in a small shopping center and is easy to miss, so drive slowly. I have wanted to try this place for a little while. I believe it has been open for approximately three years. They are known for their traditional Vietnamese Clay Jar Grilled Chicken. I ordered a 1/2 chicken $20, which was a huge portion and it came with dry egg noodles. The chicken was so fresh, tender, and grilled to perfection. The seasoning was perfect! I don't even like chicken, but this place has me sold. Will definitely come back again. They also serve pho, Hainanese chicken, and mien ga (clear vermicelli noodles with chicken). The service was efficient and the food came out fast. Happy eating! Yelp Review #24- 2026

Tried out their Mì Khô Gà Nướng Lu (dry noodles with grilled chicken) and it was so good!!! The chicken meat was firm and juicy, and the skin is wildly crispy It was not super fatty as well making every bite addicted. I decided to order a whole chicken for to go so you know it's solid! And their crispy pork fat (tóp mỡ) is the best one I have ever tried. Very crispy and flavorful! I also ordered lòng gà (chicken organ) as side dish. Very cheap for a big portion!

Clay Pot roasted chicken with noodles and soup. The noodles and soup were great but the chicken was lack luster. I am not sure if it needed lots of the sauce on the table. I was expecting an earthy clay pot flavor but it was just roast chicken.

I stopped by here for dinner with a party of 7 as the bday boy really wanted delicious food that was unique & rare to find. A Nu Quan filled that criteria that night. We also brought cake and the servers were helpful and stored it for us. We ordered 2 whole roasted chicken and 1 pandan rice, 1 crispy chicken rice, and 1 classic chicken rice. Let me tell you that we were all stuffed! But did great damage (left only 1/2 a plate of rice and 3 pcs of chicken). This clay pot chicken was crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and they seasoned it nicely throughout. The greens and various sauces (a sweet fish sauce soy, sweet chili, and lime white pepper salt) elevated the flavors. And loved their pickled lotus root and pickled garlic as well. Forgot to mention someone also ordered a pho ga and actually it was super good. Broth was some of the best, but then once you eat the roasted chicken you don't care for it anymore haha but if you need soup then it's a good option! After dinner, we sand happy birthday and they even queued up a birthday song with the bday boy's name too. That was sweet. Would definitely come back! But pro tip is to definitely order whole chicken as it'll always be fresh ;) I'm sure they have to save some pieces of chicken for their other dishes so that's why I think whole chicken is the way to go. Awesome food at A Nu Quan!

Third visit. We have a problem. We are not seeking help. The food: * Fried chicken is dialed in - warm, crispy skin, well-seasoned, the kind that makes you protective over your plate. Pairing with that pandan coconut sticky rice is chefs kiss. * The salt and pepper and pickled unripe papaya are genuinely addictive. I am not using that word loosely * The dried noodles? I have questions about what is in that sauce and also I do not want answers, just more of it * Everything we ordered landed. Zero misses. The wait: * 10-15 minutes, which is nothing when the food hits like this * Use that time to decide which dish you are going to think about for the rest of the week The vibe: * Staff is friendly, prices are reasonable, portions make sense * Hidden gem energy, but the secret is getting harder to keep If you have been here once, you already know. If you have not been yet, you are behind. Highly recommend. Aggressively.

This place has been on my radar to try and glad we finally came. It's located in a small plaza with minimal parking spaces. There inside is not very big either. We came at 3 pm so definitely didn't have to worry about the crowd. The servers were friendly and attentive. They were helpful in helping us decide which to order and were good at informing us of which dish is being placed in front of us. The clay pot chicken was so good. It was really moist and the skin was crispy. The dipping sauce complemented the chicken and made it even more flavorful. The dry noodles was tasty and was a good side to have with the chicken. However, the chicken rice was not. The rice was dry and hard to the point where it was just not edible. We were really disappointed. We really wanted to love the rice. I'm glad to finally try this place and would probably bring my friends if we're in the area.

A friend who's been living in the area for a while recommended this and the 3 of us got the clay jar whole grilled chicken, fried rice cake and eggs along with chicken pho. Holy smokes, the broth for the pho was clearly cooked for several hours and was so homey. The grilled chicken was so crispy and juicy. The fried rice cake with eggs were so crispy and delicious. All the food was eaten rapidly and I am still thinking about the grilled chicken! Such novelty and what an experience to have.

The servers are aunties that won't check on you after every bite but will come over the second you raise your hand. I took my mom for lunch and we dug in a little too quick - photos were snapped after we've made a small dent on the food. We got the Seolleongtang and soondae platter which was plenty to share between two people. We ended up taking half of the soondae platter home and enjoying it for breakfast the day after. For those not familiar with Seolleongtang, the soup comes out very basic. You're given a bucket of scallions, a little pot of salt, and shaker of ground pepper to season the broth as you please. I recommend adding a few spoonfuls of the radish kimchi sauce. Speaking of the banchan, Jong Ro prepares some of the freshest and most flavorful banchans on the street. I wish they offered a menu option that was just a bowl of rice and bottomless banchan. The soondae was perfectly springy, paired with a salted shrimp sauce and flavored salt dip. The platter also came with boiled (or steamed?) pork belly, pig ear, and other pork innards that were nicely cooked. I love restaurants like this because they are simply good at what they do. Nothing is over-the-top. There is always a constant stream of customers. The times I've gone have been during your typical slow hours and the place was always 60% full. I imagine the house is full during dinner time or on weekends and rightfully so. Definitely stop by if you're looking for a heartwarming and belly filling comfort meal.

Grandpa's Kitchen…read more I've been a longtime customer because their Phnom Penh-style hu tieu has always been very good. They were actually one of the first places around to serve this style of noodles, and I've enjoyed it for many years. However, over time, I feel like the quality isn't quite the same as it used to be. Maybe the prices are a little lower now, but the portions also seem noticeably smaller. I recently stopped by in the evening for some snacks. The atmosphere was open, casual, and lively, although both the service and the food seemed a little slow coming out. The balut was way too big for me, so I honestly couldn't really eat it. But the grilled blood cockles were large, fresh, and very juicy, which I really enjoyed. The restaurant itself is small, but it feels airy and comfortable. They also have outdoor seating, which is especially nice in the evening when the weather is cool. Overall, I still have a soft spot for Grandpa's Kitchen because I've been coming here for a long time. I just wish the food quality and portions were more like they used to be.

A nitpick I often have with hot pot is that there is far too much cabbage, but in this case I felt like it was pretty balanced. All in all, I am excited to come by and give it another try. I have very high hopes for this spot.

We ended up here after our first-choice hot pot place had a 1 to 1.5-hour wait, and we were so glad…read morewe did! We took a break from a hot, long day at Disneyland. They seated our party of five immediately. The service was impressively fast--they flip tables quickly and the food comes out in no time. Interior was clean, stylist and spacious. The food was fantastic across the board. My nephew had the Taiwanese pot and I got the Thai pot; both were amazing and packed with different meats, seafood, and veggies, offering rich, multi-layered flavors. My oldest sister tried the Miso pot, which was nicely mild. The portions are huge! My mother and other sister shared the garlic noodles and shaken beef, and I even got an extra order to go for my kids--the beef was perfectly seasoned and the noodles were super flavorful. Everything was generously portioned, delicious, and very reasonably priced. Highly recommend, and we will definitely be coming back!
