Its been years since Ive eaten Phuket thai, I remember it was good back in the day, decided to give them a try again. I ended up eating them 3x in the past 2 weeks. The pad see eew beef and drunken noodle both are solid noodle dishes here, flavorful, good portion sizes, and the priced are very reasonable. I bought both pad see eew beef and drunken noodle pork and it came out to be $28. $14 a dish is pretty good price in my opinion, especially good portion sizes and great flavor. Tonight was a last minute dinner with the lovely missus and grand daughter. She wanted Thai....and so fortunate that we find Phuket Thai is open till 8:30pm. We were helped right awsy and ordered. While we waited we marveled at some of the impressive wall decor. Golden Tofu and a hot broth vegetable soup came quickly. We order our usual basil chicken, Tom Yum soup and seafood talay. Again, it was tasty but the portion is very small. The seafood Taly has about 3' pieces of squid, bay scallops, shrimp and green mussels. The rest was filled green, red pepper and onion. Pretty steep for $18. The non-seafood dishes were reasonable. My go to is the crying tiger. It's super tender, high quality, and the dipping sauce is amazing, citrusy, and sweet. I also love their curry- both yellow chicken curry and panang beef. Phuket's sauces are all made in house and are sooo delicious. I ordered the Pad See Ew, the crying tiger and fried rice. Everything was so packed with flavor and it was so fresh. Inside of the restaurant was small but very very clean. There were people constantly coming in for to go orders (they seemed like regulars) so I knew this place was going to be good. Service was wonderful! Our server was so sweet and made pleasant conversation with us. She checked on us frequently and we had our drinks constantly filled. This Thai restaurant is a hidden gem...located on Beach and Edinger that's right next to Norms. I passed by this for many years and never got a chance to try it. So glad that I did. With things going back to normal, it is reopen for indoor dining. Plenty of park but parking can be sketchy at night, Inside looks very nice. Staff are wearing mask and very customer service oriented. For first timers, each table has a QR code where you can access the menu. Soft drinks are fountain and it is refillable. Sadly, there is no Yelp check-in offer. Order the typical Spicy Tom Yum Soup (ranging spice level from 1-5) that can be through bowl or hotpot. I chose the hotpot to see how it is and the classic pad Thai. There's actually two versions of pad Thai: one has seafood which costs more and the other is chicken or shrimp. (Shrimp or seafood cost extra). Tom yum soup at level 4 spice is not spicy, unless you are a spicy lover like me but it can give a kick to non-spice lovers. The pad Thai has no nuts but it does come with chicken and shrimp so that's a plus. Overall, excellent experience. Staff is very attentive and keeps asking if I want a refill on my Sunday.
