Phad Kee Mao - Drunken Noodle w/ pork level 5/5 spicy
    Long H.

Its been years since Ive eaten Phuket thai, I remember it was good back in the day, decided to give them a try again. I ended up eating them 3x in the past 2 weeks. The pad see eew beef and drunken noodle both are solid noodle dishes here, flavorful, good portion sizes, and the priced are very reasonable. I bought both pad see eew beef and drunken noodle pork and it came out to be $28. $14 a dish is pretty good price in my opinion, especially good portion sizes and great flavor. Solid 4/5 for both dishes.

Tonight was a last minute dinner with the lovely missus and grand daughter. She wanted Thai....and so fortunate that we find Phuket Thai is open till 8:30pm. We were helped right awsy and ordered. While we waited we marveled at some of the impressive wall decor. Golden Tofu and a hot broth vegetable soup came quickly. The Pad Thai is a favorite dish the missus orders and I order the D4 Spare Rib Plate. By now you guessed that we like Thai food. Phuket Thai restaurant was great tonight. Exceptional Good service and good food. We will be back.

Order placed online using obscure platform I've never used or heard of before. Items were ready upon arrival. Parking easy. Food was mediocre. Spicy fried rice not very spicy. Individual ingredients were cut pretty big. I would have appreciated a lemon wedge or something to cut the grease and add some acid. Eggplant meal came with delicious shrimps. Only gripe is how watery it was. The portion sizes were good for one person and not for two people. Given the abundance of different Thai restaurant choices in the area, I may or may not return in the future.

This my favorite Thai restaurant. The food is excellent and reasonably priced for the portions. I have been coming here for over 12 years. Every time the food is perfect, order is complete, consistent care to ensure it is exactly like I want it. I love their crabs fried rice, coconut soups ( Tom kha ) phad see u , Crying Tiger ( BBQ beef ) The items are made fresh to order and always arrive as requested . The service is amazing. The staff are polite, attentive . It is small, clean and seldom crowded.

    Curry in aluminum foil...

The panang curry was yummy. I appreciate that they were willing to remove the bell peppers. It didn't have any carrots, sadly. What really ruined the eating experience was getting my to-go curry in a piece of aluminum foil... appalling choice for a liquid container

It's always a pleasure dining here. I think it's such an underrated restaurant in this area, but probably just because not too many people know about it. Everyone there is very kind, super attentive and we've never had to wait to be seated. The food is delicious and they are big servings since they are meant to be eaten in family style. The prices are also very fair. If you want to dine in but aren't looking to spend too much, this is the place. Also, the ambiance is so cozy and home-y it's one of my favorite things about this place. Sometimes I can get overwhelmed in restaurants but it never happens here.

Started with the Hamachi Crudo - fresh hamachi with aguachile, avocado, cucumber, serrano, and macerated strawberries. The Momonoki Chicken Wings followed with a crispy 12-hour brined chicken glazed in caramel fish sauce, Thai chili, and scallions. Sweet, savory, crispy... these disappeared quickly. The Dashi Pesto came with pan-seared Hokkaido scallops, dashi-infused pesto, blistered cherry tomatoes, and Parmesan. Then came the Gochujang Pork Belly over mashed potatoes with mozzarella and scallions. The pork belly was tender and flavorful, but those mashed potatoes deserve their own review. Seriously, the softest and creamiest mashed potatoes ever. Ever. Finished the savory side with the Miso Bacon Carbonara - creamy miso-Calabrian chili carbonara with crispy bacon, Parmesan, and scallions. Rich, comforting, and another dish worth coming back for. Dessert brought strawberry lychee ice cream and sesame creme brulee. Both were pleasant, although the savory dishes were definitely stars of the evening. Signed up for an event and left with a list of reasons to come back. Momonoki understood the assignment and those mashed potatoes the extra credit. Shoutout to the cool and amazing staff!

So far the best Kei Concept restaurant!…read more Appetizers: SEAFOOD CEVICHE - light, refreshing, with a hint of heat from the Thai chili and tropical flavor from the coconut and mango. It can be enjoyed on its own, but I recommend consuming this with the fish chips. It's a great starter! CHICKEN WINGS - the best wings ever! I've had something similar from Pok Pok Wing in Las Vegas (sadly, all their locations are closed). My husband and I have not found a spot that prepares wings with caramelized fish sauce and garlic until now. We were brought back to our happy memories of the sticky, sweet, and umami flavors. Don't skip out on this! Main dishes: CURRY CRAB OMELET - I really enjoyed this one. I don't normally have crab with an omelet. This was a great combo! There was a perfect amount of crab. It was simple, but it had a lasting impression. I was able to taste every ingredient in this dish. I kept coming back for more. SEAFOOD TOM KHA PASTA - another hit! It was creamy, savory and aromatic. A dish I also kept coming back for more. FILET MIGNON BÁNH MÌ CHẢO - I only ate a small portion of this because I got full from the other dishes. The medium-rare filet mignon blanketed under the black peppercorn sauce was a tasty bite! We took the left over home and the next day I devoured the rest. Drinks: MANGO STICKY RICE MATCHA LATTE - what a combo! This could pass as a dessert if you didn't want to eat anything else after your meal. You are able to adjust the sweetness, which I did (75%). Next time, I'll leave it as 100%. Dessert: MANGO STICKY RICE - we ordered it without the peanuts. Visually, it was beautiful! The mango and coconut against the purple sticky rice really popped! Flavor wise, it tasted similar. The black sesame salt was pretty subtle though. This was more of a refined version of the traditional dessert. Our server was personable and attentive. On ambiance, the restaurant is definitely chic. It's spacious and very well kept. The restroom was clean, they offer mouthwash as well. This spot was recommended by our friend. He said it's the best Kei Concept restaurant. We agree 100%! We are definitely coming back here. Thank you, Nep Cafe!

The yuzu and lemonade didn't overpower each other, and a nice touch of the mint leaf! Kei Coconut Ube had a nice taste to it. The sweetness was nice, super purple in color, and worth trying at least once. Drink definitely does not look or taste like a beer so think of it as a sparkling Ube drink when you try it. Beef Tongue appetizer was very tasty and the appearance was pretty. The sauce was very delicious with a hint of citrus. Beef Bowl Udon was delicious as well. The udon noodles are in the middle of the thickness level. Broth was nice and refreshing, and the beef belly was super soft and tasted amazing. Seafood Tom Kha Ramen was really good. Seafood in it were shrimps, scallops, and squid/calamari. Not too spicy, but had a nice kick to it. Veggies were nice and mixed well with the seafood ramen! Unfortunately, the eggs do not come with the udon or ramen, but they do have free unlimited ramen noodles!!! They let you get it for the udon broths as well! The food here looks great and tastes even better, which isn't always a given. The location is prime and the service has been great every time. I've been here a handful of times now with zero letdowns. For context, I believe it's a Peruvian-Chinese fusion spot, so the menu doesn't fit neatly into one box. This South Coast Plaza location is actually their second spot, an elevated follow-up to the original in Fountain Valley, and it shows in the polish of the space itself. They also have an awesome happy hour running weekdays from 2 to 5, which is a great excuse to swing by even if dinner isn't in the cards that day. Also, big shoutout to the kids meal being carried across all their restaurants, which makes life so much easier as a parent. You already know your kid has something they'll actually eat and love, no guessing game involved. My little one is obsessed every single time.

What an awesome gem of a spot here in Orange County! I've been eyeing checking District 36 Diner…read moreout for the longest time - ever since they opened up earlier this year - but they have the weirdest opening hours! I always thought of them "as the restaurant with the bizarre hours" - literally four hours a day during the week (closed Mondays) - and only slightly longer hours during the weekend. Upon first stepping foot into the space - you're transformed into an old-school diner with Vietnamese influence. The walls are well decorated in Vietnamese memorabilia. I was greeted by Brian almost immediately - who directed me to a spot "wherever I'd like to sit" - and I opted for one of the booths. Brian - is the co-owner of the diner, but is also part of "old-school" Little Saigon culinary royalty - a descendant of the family that founded the OG Song Long restaurant off Bolsa Ave. that has since shut down (known for their Cha Ca Thanh Long dish - which sadly, you can't get here). He is incredibly warm, genuine, and easy to chat with. After trying to decide between their Bo Kho variations (which is my favorite Vietnamese dish next to pho) - I settled for something new for me - their Five Spiced Chicken Fried Steak - which also comes with two eggs your way (I picked "Sunny Side up"), tater tots, and a Diet Coke. The wait was minimal - and the food was awesome! The tater tots tasted fresh - was perfectly crispy on the outside, soft and yummy on the inside. I found myself eating those first - while letting the gravy seep into my chicken fried steak to soften it up a bit. The chicken fried steak was perfectly flavored - you could almost taste a bit of pho spices with each bite. The homemade gravy was out of this world amazing - making the chicken breading soft enough for me to eat comfortably. The two sunny side up eggs had perfect yolks - I like to poke, and then suck each yolk up - before eating the whites. I appreciate Brian cranking up the AC since I forgot to bring in my portable fan - and it was a pretty warm day. Hoping to check them out again this Saturday for their take on Bun Bo Hue or maybe one of their Bo Kho dishes! Plenty of parking in the shared lot with a Grocery Outlet and Artisan 7 Leaves (which I stopped by after my lunch here). Hope to see them more busy! Brian told me he'd definitely consider opening longer hours during the week if business picks up. Check them out!! They have a unique twist on traditional diner foods with a bit of Vietnamese flair!

The diner is very clean with interesting artwork and vibrant colors. I got the Five-Spice Chicken Fried Steak, Mama's Crispy Rolls, and a cup of Chicken broth to share. The rolls were hot and crispy with fresh leafy greens. The chicken fried steak was very crispy with a consistency almost like fried chicken. The taste is different from a traditional southern type of chicken fried steak. It had an interesting flavor like a mix of the pho seasoning. It is a brownish yellowish color and tastes a little like curry. It paired well with the tots. This was a hearty but not super heavy brunch dish and having a cup of the chicken broth was perfect to wash everything down. The breakfast burrito looked very good on the menu and I might try that for on another visit. I would recommend this diner for anyone looking for one with a retro modern feel and fusion food and good service.
