Har gow and shrimp and chive
    Monica R.

Found crystal dumplings while coming to get coffee a few shops down. Im so glad i stopped by here. You order at the counter and the employees bring the food out to your table. The employee taking our order was super nice and welcoming. The dumplings were all great and the prices are affordable. My favorite was the shrimp and chive dumplings. Also their chilli oil is great! And the fried shrimp bean curd rolls were crispy and light. Very nice and clean spot with the most relaxing music playing.

I was just looking for a good DIM SUM place to order Togo and take home to share with my mom but, I didn't expect it to be THIS GOOD!!! So I guess we should never judge a book by its cover ;) HAR GOW: 10/10 Star of the show! WOW, this is Monterey Park quality dim sum. Tastes great especially on the first day! SHUMAI: 9/10 It was nice and thick! And juicy. I think it would have tasted way better on the first day since I refrigerated over night. SHRIMP BEAN CURD: 10/10 This one was really tasty too! I re-heated in the toaster oven. SHRIMP RICE ROLLS: 10/10 I really like the texture! BBQ pork buns & sweet buns: 8/10 It was pretty good! SHRIMP DUMPLING: 10/10 Loved this one too with the green wrapping. SERVICE: B+ Didn't get a greeting but, they did pack the Dim Sum up really nicely. They were also very generous on giving the sauces and wrapping up the sauces nicely too! AMBIANCE: 8/10 Lots of tables to sit at! I highly recommend this place!!! ROCK ON CRYSTAL DUMPLINGS!!!!

nice price , perfect food Loved the attention to detail! The steamed buns come on non-stick paper, so they peel off perfectly. The buns were soft, fluffy, and fragrant. The siu mai was packed with shrimp--every bite felt like swimming in an ocean of shrimp!

The food was always good. I have shumai and chicken feet and bbq bun. Also they have new dessert is the durian crepe. It was so tasty and delicious. Highly recommend!

I needed a snack and decided to stop by here. Crystal Dumplings is a casual dim sum spot where you just pick up and go. There is a couple of tables if you want to eat there. Crystal Dumplings is located in a plaza so there are some parking. I ended up getting the Pork shrimp shumai, Shrimp dumplings, and Spicy dumplings in chili sauce. My favorite was the spicy dumplings in chili sauce. I love the sauce. It wasn't spicy. I would try to eat this dish right away because it can get salty with the sauce sitting too long with the dumplings. The Shumai and the shrimp dumplings were average. It did come a bit cold but I'm not sure if I came later in the afternoon. Overall, if you just want to pick up a couple of dim sum items this is your place.

A pleasant and relaxing setting for casual dim sum. The service is courteous. The dim sums selections are limited but they have all the basics. The quality is decent and reasonably priced. Tip: it does take about 15 minutes or more to get the food, since they are steamed when ordered.

We were satisfied with our quick lunch here. Shu mai is chunky, filling and tasty. Pork bun bread is soft and sweet and complements well with the piping hot pork filling. No complaints with the shrimp har gow - also bigger than the usual serving. Too bad they were out of my favorite sticky rice. Service was friendly and fast and generous with condiments! No frills dimsum for a quick lunch - will definitely return!

The food seems freshly made and was super tasty! We came for a quick dim sum lunch and were really happy with this spot. It's cozy and has a great, small menu. We got shu mai, shrimp dumplings, and the bbq pork dumplings. Everything came out quick and was great. The only thing was I wish they had hot mustard. That would really set everything off. We'll be back!!

Clean and tasty dim sum. Cool little hole in the wall, order style dim sum (no carts). They open early, which is nice. Really, really good food. Only drawback is limited menu, but for the taste and value, can't be beat. Service was good and friendly.

I have come by a few times for this location and I really enjoy the quality of the dim sum here. Parking is a bit of a struggle but I am able to find a spot eventually. I usually get the siu mai, chicken feet, sticky rice, and it is delicious! It's affordable as well which I love! The ambiance inside is nice where you can have a seat as well. The service is fast and the staff are nice here! Highly recommend if you're craving some dim sum!

Fast service and good food. I really like the pork shrimp shumai. I've also tried the custard and the sticky rice leaf and those are good too

We needed a quick morning bite and stumbled in this little gem. We were greeted immediately by a very nice lady. We ordered two fried rice, shrimp rice noodles and mushroom bao bun. If we had more time, we would've ordered more of the classic dim sum but we were in a hurry. The food came out pretty quick. I love the artwork and decor representing the street food and classic dim sum. Friendly staff and solid flavors make this a great dine-in or grab-and-go option!

When we arrived there was a moderate amount of people waiting but wait wasn't as long as I thought it would be! We waited about 15 min for a party of 6 at 10 am on a Sunday. The inside was banquet style restaurant with a lot of seating and tables, so it makes sense that the wait wasn't terribly long. The service is friendly, a lot of younger staff. Most of the dim sum is ordered from the menu, only the steamed noodles are ordered from the cart. I do miss the cart and being able to see and choose what we wanted. The food came out very fast and was very fresh! Everything tasted amazing. I loved the turnip cake, football, shui mai, and chicken feet the most! But it was all delicious. It definitely hit the dim sum cravings.

This place has been my go to favorite Dim sum spot in OC since I was a kid. I've noticed many Dim Sum spots in OC just aren't good. No offense lol. There something about the seasoning and portion size that hits. Hargow - big shrimp filled Hargow. Big pieces. The dough is perfectly thin. Shumai- my favorite ! Super big pieces filled with pork and shrimp. A must order Chicken Feet - perfect Tang and chew to start your Dim Sum experience. Good for the collagen! Very flavorful. Shrimp Rice Paper - my favorite over the beef one. The shrimp was nice and big. The sweet soy sauce was perfect match. I wish it was a bit more umami compared to ones I get in NY. Pork and Chive Dumpling - it was okay. Didn't have any opinion. Taro Cake - pretty decent. Nice crisp and super soft and mellow inside. Would get this again!! BBQ Pork Buns - my favorite! Super chunky pork and not overly sweet. Baked to perfection! Beef in steamed rice paper rolls - this was okay. I felt like the beef lacked the flavor versus shrimp.

Nothing complicated nor spectacular, just a thought of nostalgia & tradition from foods that reconnect with times & memorable gatherings in our past. We had a great lunch with my daughter &?grandson - a mini celebration of sorts. It was quiet enough for our happy conversations and heightened our senses with good platefuls of Cantonese style food. Generous portions at competitive prices. Completely relaxed and satisfying atmosphere for us. The service was unintrusive and present. I like the staff for their service & attentiveness unlike some of the more upscale spots where patrons are ignored. lol. I'm glad this wonderful spot continues with such quality after all these many decades. I love old school local neighborhood businesses over the big franchises. Everything was seasoned perfectly. My only critiques about the food are very small. I wish the fried tofu was cut in half into smaller cubes. Since it was soft tofu, it was hard to pick up and dip and the sauce. I'd also like more breading to keep the tofu sturdy. I also personally would've liked more breading/crispies on the shrimp. Service was good, but not the fastest when it came to ordering and paying. But I didn't mind.

There wasn't anyone eating there when we went on a weekday morning so service was super quick! It's a huge space though so I'm sure it gets more rowdy on the weekends. We tried the classic dim sum dishes. The shumai was a bit dry for me but was still overall pretty good. The rice rolls with shrimp had a very good sauce and it was super addicting! The only one that disappointed us were the soup dumplings, which fell apart because they stuck to the bottom. Also there just wasn't very much soup in them to begin with. Both of our favs were the baby ribs, which were so soft and flavorful. The fried shrimp balls were also good and were made to order so they were super crispy and fresh! I really liked the chili oil here because it actually had a kick. For dessert, we ended off with their egg tarts that were crispy, sweet, and delicious!! I'd definitely come back because this is a lot better experience compared to waiting hours for some of the places in OC.

So the service here is still pretty atrocious in my opinion. So I don't really come in anymore…read more Maybe it's because I grew up with it and I'm in love with their dim sum. But their food is still great most of the time. I now just get to go and eat at home or eat somewhere else so I don't have to deal with their service. I like the new update and the modern look of the restaurant but I feel that it's taking away. It's warmth. It feels a little more clinic-y if that makes sense. I'll probably update again if anything changes or if a family member is dying to go here. I just get really upset thinking about how I have two aunts in my last example that we've gone ands server. Who's been there for ages treats you different based on I guess your tipping and to me that's a put off. He is also very crass, and his jokes are kind of gross. The owner does try and go around. But the last time I've gone, she kinda just sat there. My last experience while in the restaurant was that there were maybe four or five tables of people about 2 to 4 in each table. And this was after dim sum time so there are no carts going around. And even though their staff was pretty full service was so slow. The food was kind of extra greasy and it gave a lot of us. Bad stomach aches. I still debate how bad I want dim sum when I have to go here. But at least their dim sum is still great! I really hope that the place does turn around because when I drive by I see how empty it's gotten and it makes me sad that my favorite place is not doing as well. Cross fingers!
