I came during lunch when it was only $24, and it honestly felt like a steal for the quality and variety. The first thing that impressed me was how fresh everything looked. We arrived right when they opened, and the vegetables were vibrant, crisp, and fully stocked. My favorite soup base was the tom yum--it was packed with flavor and had just the right amount of heat and tanginess. I could've happily enjoyed that broth on its own. I also loved that the hot bar wasn't just an afterthought. They had unlimited marinated crab, stir-fried egg noodles, and several other prepared dishes that were actually worth going back for. The grill selection was just as good. The skewers and shrimp were my favorites, and adding a little of the provided butter while grilling made everything taste even better. The restaurant itself is spacious with plenty of seating, making it a great option for bigger groups or celebrations. The staff kept an eye on our table, cleared plates quickly, and were always friendly whenever we needed something. Between the fresh ingredients, flavorful broths, and great service, this is definitely a place I'll be returning to.

8 Hot Pot Grill Buffet AYCE in Garden Grove was an amazing experience. The side dishes were a big highlight crab, chicken wings, and Vietnamese-style snacks were all really good. I also loved that the food bar was constantly being refilled with vegetables, sides, and other fresh options, so everything stayed stocked and ready. The hot pot and grill options were great, especially the Thai-flavor soup base, which was my favorite. The beef was delicious, and they even had wagyu meat, which made the AYCE experience feel extra worth it. Overall, this is a great spot for anyone who loves hot pot, grill, and a wide variety of sides. Great food, lots of choices, and everything kept coming out fresh. I would definitely come back.

The weekday was so slow, so at first it felt a little confusing and honestly made me a bit afraid to try it But after eating here, I can say this place is excellent! The all-you-can-eat crab for only $35 is super worth it and honestly feels very cheap for the quality and amount you get. The crab was fresh, sweet, juicy, and had no fishy smell at all. Everything tasted really good, especially the seafood and hot pot. The service was also amazing -- very friendly staff, good service, and they always made sure we had everything we needed. The restaurant was clean, comfortable, and perfect for eating with friends and family. Definitely one of the best seafood/hot pot spots I've tried. I'll absolutely come back again! Highly recommend if you love unlimited crab and seafood. I think this place deserves more attention and ads because the food and value are honestly so good.

House special soup and spicy miso soup

We stopped by on the way to La for lunch and didn't expect much for 23.99 , but this place was amazing The miso soup base was one of the best I've had, maybe it was the actual seaweed that they put in there but it was super rich in flavor The house special soup was also uniquely good, it was Thai soup base with just the right amount of lemon grass. The side selection was pretty typical outside of these razor clam that I've never seen before at a ayce hot pot place but they just went so well with the soup. The old lady that helped us was also extremely friendly and made sure we had everything we needed Overall, 10/10 especially for the lunch price

TLDR: It's $29.99 for an AYCE where you are given grill and soup access. The concept makes it feel like a bargain; the quality of the food and options will make them feel like a ripoff. It's worth trying, but I'd be amazed (and disappointed) in myself if I choose to come back here. Soup: You get 2. I got the mushroom and beef soup. Good news, the beef soup is basically pho soup, a half decent pho soup. Mushroom soup was.... just mushroomy. I did enjoy it more by mixing the two. Grill: It's a normal grilled just layered with parchment paper. They give you liquefied butter to help with the greasing up of the paper in the initial cooking phase. Things cook fine without the butter after the grill gets going. Cooked foods: They're in a buffet warmer, but I'd say they're closer to room temperature. You get deep fried blue crab legs, fried fish fillet, pork bone soup, clams, vegetables, and a few more options. They're good enough to try, but you could feel that they've been sitting there for a few hours. For the grill / soup: The "US Wagyu" thinly sliced meat is so frozen that you're gonna have a hard time removing it form the container. Thankfully, the rest of the ensemble is just refrigerated. Bulgogi is decent, the pork teriyaki is decent, the fish options aren't seasoned, but it's fixable with the butter and sides. Basically, you get 8-10 ish options where you'll say, okay. It's a bunch of okays, and I think some people will be fine with that. Unfortunately, I'd rather pay $2-3 more to get a bunch of good. Given the poor state (and look) of the food options here, I would recommend cooking everything medium well or well done, just to be safe. Miscellaneous hotpot section: You get pho noodles or egg noodles, a bunch of vegetable options, an assortment of squid balls, fish balls, imitation crab, shellfish, and other low-cost items to add body to your pot. Appetizer table: I'm not gonna lie. I didn't touch anything here. I'm just telling you that it exists, and it's all eaten cold. Dessert: Fruits. Cool. If you want ice cream, that's ala carte. $2 ish per cup depending on the flavor. Ambiance: These are one of the places where I'll just tell you to look at the food and nothing else. The place feels like it's seen better days. Everything on the buffet section feels like it's more than 10 years old, or bought 2nd hand from a failed restaurant. The tools/utensils provided are generally stained, and you could tell that they just wipe the surface when cleaning, as the crevices are on the darker end. I came in at 6pm on a Friday and it was a ghosttown. Thankfully, people started coming in closer to 7pm. Remember the meat section? The part where you expect to get most of your money's worth? They're the only place that hides most of their stock at the back. The thin beef slices only had 5 containers in the freezer, and they'd refill it only when it dropped to zero. I understand if they do that to maintain freshness, but even the stuff coming from the kitchen is frozen, so they clearly prepped this beforehand already. It's just eerie when you're basically coming in to what feels like the very start of dinner rush, and the place isn't stocked. Service: Good. The staff are polite, they try their best to give you what you want, and they're working with what they have, which isn't a whole lot.

For the value, priced well for the food you get. It was decent and seems very empty. You get hot pot and Barbecue meats to grill. Mediocre food, bad service and not alot of variety.

On 6/29, she said this 6/30 coupon already expired. lol!

+ Some restaurants are AYCE hotpot. Others are AYCE bbq. This place's got both! + Wide assortment of food for grill and/or boil. - But only a small selection of fruity drinks. - Unfortunately, partially due to not specializing in either hotpot or bbq, this business is not exceptionally good at either. - e.g. they only have two broth flavors by default for each person. At my fav hotpot place, you get a choice of 4 out of 8 broths. - Also, most of the food didn't taste good in general. Kind of bland, about what you'd expect from AYCE. - Summer is hot in there. Wish they had A/C or more fans. - Not a wide selection of fruits for healthy dessert. . The manager was okay, but the employees are very nice and helpful. - On 6/29 I walked in asking to use my 20%-off coupon. She immediately said it expired without verifying the expiry date which is 6/30. I pointed this out to her, then the management had to delibrate. - Eventually, they approved our 20% off, contingent that we order drinks (as opposed to sticking to free water). + Fortunately, they threw in a BOGO offer on the drinks. We acquiesced. - But really, they shouldn't have felt the need to ask us to buy drinks, as the coupon's offer is a solid single offer without asterisk or disclaimer. 20% off. That's all it says. No drinks requirement or anything. + Ample parking. + I really appreciate that this place doesn't have a time limit like other AYCE places do. I have a huge stomach and only one mouth. xD - The restroom had only one toilet, - and no paper towels. dirty handles. . They don't serve alcohol. Not that I'm a drinker anyway.

Along with that, our table also ordered: the quail with sticky rice ($20.99), salted fish and shrimp fried rice ($24.99), shaken beef with garlic noodles ($22.99), bok choy with sautéed garlic ($12.99), a hot tea ($4.00), Coca-Cola ($5.50), a mojito ($15.00), and a margarita ($15.00). With tax ($17.71), our ticket was $209.16 before gratuity. The NOLA Grilled Oysters come sizzling on a hot griddle, with four different fillings, four pieces each, for a total of 16 oysters. The price might seem a bit indulgent, but not if you consider the effort and ingredients that go into this presentation. Each type was flavorful, and there wasn't a single one I didn't enjoy. The salted fish fried rice was an interesting experience. I enjoyed the dish, though the salted fish was less salty than I expected. Someone in our group, who usually doesn't like salted fish fried rice because they find it too salty, actually liked this version for its milder flavor. The plate also includes four large shrimp. The shaken beef was tasty and tender; the garlic noodles were al dente and had just enough garlic--not excessive. The sautéed garlic added a smoky, nutty taste to the bok choy. The quail was marinated well and tasted good--but I wonder if it was fried just a bit too long. After this meal, I chatted with a friend who lives in the community. He'd been to this spot before but dismissed it as just another seafood boil joint. After our conversation, though, he said he'd be willing to give it another shot. I guess your impression of this restaurant depends, at least in part, on what you order. The service, by the way, was excellent. The dining environment was clean and comfortable, with plenty of television screens so people could keep up with World Cup matches.

The service is good. They use a menu ordering system rather than the traditional carts rolling around, and I have to admit I miss the carts. There's something fun about the serendipity of seeing a dish go by, pointing at it, and trying something new. I also enjoy having a wide variety of options available. They did bring around a few plates to offer, which was a nice touch. I do have one major complaint: they list siu mai on the menu, but it really isn't siu mai. Traditional siu mai has a thin wrapper around the filling, while what they serve is essentially a ball of filling. I ordered the shrimp and mushroom version, but it was basically a shrimp ball topped with a shiitake mushroom. The individual dim sum pieces are larger than average, which is nice, but it also makes them easier to prepare and doesn't necessarily justify the very high prices. In fact, I think this may be one of the most expensive dim sum restaurants I've been to. When you're averaging more than $10 for three pieces of dim sum per dish, it becomes too expensive for a regular visit. That said, as an occasional treat, it's still a nice place to come.

It's frustrating at times (at various restaurants) when the person taking your order cannot understand. Today my order was taken by Emily who didn't mind reading my order over when I got there to make sure I got everything I ordered. I ordered dim sum to go for dinner tonight and can't wait to enjoy it with my husband. It's hard to cook in this hot weather and after a full days work.... it's nice to have dinner already ready when I walk in the door. The last time I dined in, they had stopped using the "carts" for dim sum, which was a disappointment, but for whatever reason... times change. This is not the only restaurant who've ditched the carts and you order off a menu. I'm sure you'll agree that the parking here is difficult, however, now that I have a handicapped placard, it makes it a bit easier. They also have two elevators that go up to the second floor of the restaurant, which also helps in my current personal situation. Thank you Seafood Cove 2. You're still my #1 choice when the dim sum urge hits!
